Officer Training Conference  Training our officers to the best of their abilities!

This year's Officer Training Conference was hosted at Concord High School on June 16, from 10am-1:30pm. There were several workshops tailored to each officer position, along with other workshops that related to events, public speaking, fundraising, learning about the Kiwanis, and dealing with conflict. Division 26 North and South attended this conference! Thank you Jonathan and Lily for arranging the meeting, and thanks to all officers and DLT who participated.

June DWS - Relay for Life Antioch Red Devils Burning Cancer! Dozier Libbey hosted this June DWS's Relay for Life in the Deer Valley track in Antioch! It was held on June 24 (11am) - 25 (11am). Key Club had a booth stationed by Julian Philipie, the Dozier Libbey Key Club President. We did a lot of things, such as selling energy drinks and bubbles, manning and helping out other stations, going around the track and doing spirit laps, setting up Luminaria that spells "HERO", and sponsoring car races. Overall, we had an extremely fun time. There were 34 total Key Club volunteers, and 18 of them were from Deer Valley! Collectively, we earned 309 service hours. Thank you to all who attended this fun event!

Pancake Breakfast & Antioch Parade Hot like fire...works!

The Rivertown Resource Center hosted a free pancake breakfast on the 4th of July, from 7-10am, on the parking lot next to El Campanil in downtown Antioch! Deer Valley and Dozier Libbey's Key Clubs volunteered their early morning to help set up tables, chairs and tablecloths, monitor stations, and assist patrons with whatever they needed. A $5 donation was recommended, but thanks to Betty, the main organizer of the pancake breakfast, Key Clubbers got their breakfast for free because they helped out!

Right after the pancake breakfast, we participated in the 4th of July parade hosted annually in downtown Antioch. Our Kiwanis advisors, Argentina and Angel, invited us to march in the Kiwanis section alongside the Aktion Club. Even though it was last minute, we managed to coordinate plenty of cheers to chant as we walked during the parade thanks to Darienne, our IP Vice President and Editor who stood up to be our temporary Spirit Coordinator!

July DWS - Mount Diablo Festival A 4th of July Festival!

There was a Mount Diablo Festival to celebrate the 4th of July! We had some members attend and help out at the festival. There were many games and jumpers that needed assistance, and we had to switch back and forth between them. It was stressful, but it was also pretty fun. Afterwards, there was a spectacular fireworks display that everyone got to see. Thank you all for attending!

Yoc Walk Antioch Clubs - Hiking our way to victory!

After the Interclub Meeting held on July 11, Deer Valley and Dozier Libbey's members walked from Denny's all the way to Contra Loma to begin their first ever Yoc Walk. However, by the time we arrived at our destination, everyone was already exhausted! The walk there was a hike in itself. We still had a good time getting to talk and bond with each other. After getting to the Contra Loma parking lot, we all hitched a ride to 7-Eleven and got free Slurpees to reward our hard efforts! Thank you to everyone who attended!
