Earth Will Enter 'Mini Ice Age' In 2030 Long story short A new, super-accurate model that measures two different dynamo effects within the Sun predicts that in the 2030s, solar activity will reach historic lows. As a result, we’ll enter what experts refer to as a “mini ice age.” Long story On HBO’s Game of Thrones, the characters can’t shut up about how “winter is coming” to Westeros, bringing with it years (maybe even decades) of cold and an army of zombies. Though we’ll (hopefully) be without an onslaught of the undead, “winter” is coming for us, too: According to new models, Earth will enter a “mini ice age” beginning in about 15 years. Scientists have long been aware that the dynamo effects of magnetic waves within the Sun result in it having an activity cycle of about 11 years. However, no models to date have been able to predict fluctuations with any accuracy. According to Professor Valentina Zharkova of Northumbria University, that’s because we’ve been ignoring another set of magnetic waves at a different level of the Sun’s interior.
“We found magnetic wave components appearing in pairs, originating in two different layers in the Sun’s interior. They both have a frequency of approximately 11 years, although this frequency is slightly different, and they are offset in time. Over the cycle, the waves fluctuate between the northern and southern hemispheres of the Sun. Combining both waves together and comparing to real data for the current solar cycle, we found that our predictions showed an accuracy of 97%,” said Zharkova. When both waves are close to in sync, we get a lot of solar activity. When they’re close to completely opposite one another, however, we get what scientists refer to as a “Maunder minimum,” a time when there are few or no sunspots. According to Zharkova, this will happen starting in about the year 2030, and when there’s no solar activity, it gets colder. The good news is that despite the term “mini ice age,” it won’t be any sort of global catastrophe. Things should be a little cooler overall, but the winters may be particularly brutal. The last time a Maunder minimum occurred, beginning in 1645, it sometimes got cold enough for the entire freaking Thames River to freeze over. Bridges have been removed since then that restricted flow and made that possible, but it should still give you an idea of what we could be in for.

The 10 Laws You're Most Likely To Have Broken
If you ask most people whether or not they’re habitual criminals, they’d probably laugh before defining themselves as law-abiding citizens. Are they lying? It all depends on how you define “law-abiding.” American legislature is a strange beast that’s constantly evolving, creating new laws, modifying existing ones, all while ignoring archaic ones that are in desperate need of being struck down.
participated in a fantasy football league at the office or had the boys over for a night of cash poker? If so, you’ve broken the law. Again, most cops and lawyers wouldn’t waste their time trying to shut down your small-time game or an office pool, but that doesn’t make these activities any more legal.

Since the mid-'90s when music piracy really began to take off, people have been gorging on free content while labels and production companies have tried to litigate their way back to relevance. Han Solo Star Wars Stand Alone Movie In Development Why is this important? He's the best character in the franchise.
drel whom Luke Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi first encountered in the cantina at Mos Eisley."
Long story short: THR has confirmed that a Han Solo spinoff movie is in development. It joins Star Wars: Rogue One and probably a Boba Fett movie as franchise standalone films.
This is pretty interesting... Star Wars Episode VII: A Force Awakens is set for release on December 18th this year, while Rogue One comes out one year later. The schedule then starts to fill up with Episode VIII moving up to May, 2017 and both Boba Fett and Han Solo coming out in 2018. Episode IX is currently slated for 2019.
Long story: Buddy director duo Christopher Miller and Phil Lord (The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street) have signed on to direct one of the upcoming Star Wars anthology spinoffs, according to the The Hollywood Reporter. According to sources, the movie will focus on a young Han Solo. Judging by the directors' previous work, we imagine it having a Superbad-esque, coming-of-age comedy flavor. Imagine Han Solo in a suede suit with an afro. From the official release: "The story focuses on how young Han Solo became the smuggler, thief, and scoun-
Also confirmed today is an appearance by Darth Vader in Rogue One not as the primary villain but still, badass. Who should star as the scruffy looking nerf herder? Our money is on Aaron Paul but of course anyone with a lopsided grin will be auditioning for this role. Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan are writing the script and the project is set for a May 25, 2018 release.
By mixing bro-pleasing songs about carousing and boozing with more sober lamentations on fatherhood and death, "country's hottest guy" has -- finally -- grown into a bona fide star.
from South Alabama," and the first of his 13 No. 1 Hot Country Songs hits. "He could've become a one-hit wonder," says Luke Bryan. "Dierks has been probably the only artist to actually outdo that first hit."
"My career has been like that ramp," Dierks Bentley says, crossing a dirt parking lot as he leaves a Billboard photo shoot. He nods in the direction of a long loading ramp that slopes up from the mud onto the rear of a flatbed truck. The simile isn't entirely accurate, his career arc has included a precipitous dip in the middle, but the idea of a gradual climb holds true for Bentley, a tortoise among hares.
He quickly established himself as a first-rate singer of songs about beer, and as a wit: "Garth [Brooks] made fans cry and laugh at the same time," he told CMT in 2004. "I want them to cry, laugh and throw up all at once."
Plenty more beer songs followed, He climbs into his own truck, a junkyard Chevy that and in 2009, appears to be white underneath the layers of dirt. His another signature former blond curls have been shorn to a semi-mohawk hit, "Sideways," that's in danger of becoming a mullet. People magazine a celebration of recently named the green-eyed 39-year-old "Country's hanging out in Hottest Guy," which he has turned into a punchline: He bars. "It's a likes to board his tour bus and announce to his band, ridiculous song," "Country's hottest guy is looking for a Porta-Potty." Bentley said when this writer interviewed He rolls down a window, like most of the truck, the AC him that year. "Not a is busted, and drives across Nashville to a favorite lunch lot of synapses firing spot: Arnold's, a family-run meat-and-three cafeteria on this one." where the owners greet him like a favorite cousin. Soon after we sit down, complimentary orders of hush puppies and peach pie arrive. "We're going to need a wheelchair to get out of here," he groans. Bentley moved to Nashville in that same Chevy, driving from Arizona with his dad. The business quickly turned him off. "I didn't see it ever working out for me. I don't wear tight, starched jeans. I don't have a big belt buckle and a cowboy hat. And I've got a weird name." (It rhymes with "jerks.") Bentley began going to bluegrass shows at The Station Inn, which in turn made him excited about country music from the '50s and '60s. His passion for the era culminated in his memorable majorlabel debut in 2003, "What Was I Thinkin'," a romping song with banjo and Dobro about a night of dangerous adventure with "a beauty
Around that time, he now says, "I was really burned out." He was opening for Brad Paisley, one of several newer singers who had pushed past Bentley in their ascent. He and his wife, Cassidy, had a baby who was less than a year old. Bentley was trying to become a headliner, and it wasn't working. And Nashville was now full of guys doing songs about beer and pretty girls. He returned a second time to his refuge and made a bluegrass album, Up on the Ridge, which had no fewer than zero hit singles. "People thought I was crazy," he says. The slope of his career ascent hit a sudden drop. While Bentley was working on Riser, one of the best country albums of 2014 and a follow-up to the partycrazy record Home, he nearly left off "Drunk on a Plane," which has become his best-known song. It didn't seem to fit with the rest of Riser, some of which addressed two recent events: the birth of his first son, Knox (he has three kids in all), and the death of his father, Leon, which Bentley wrote about in "Here on Earth." "I sent the song to Bono", a fan and friend, "and said, 'It's a little rough,' " recalls Bentley. "He wrote me back and said, 'It's not rough. It's a polished gem.' " Bentley describes his dad as a fun-loving guy who loved beer qualities evident in his son. He realized that making an album without fun songs wouldn't fully depict his life, so "Drunk" went back in. In a way, it's as personal a song as "Here on Earth": "I've been drunk on plenty of planes," he says. This summer, right alongside Paisley and Bryan, he topped the bill at New York's inaugural Farmborough festival, and he's touring sheds, an established headliner at last. DJs know how to pronounce his weird name, just as they'd learned to say "Wynonna" and "Shania." It took seven albums, but he figured out how to be a headliner: Sing your life, the bad parts and the good. "I have these songs I can relate to, because they're all a piece of my life. Maybe that's why I've never had a bad show." He reconsiders. "Or maybe it's the alcohol." This story originally appeared in the Aug. 1 issue of Billboard.
Madonna Compares Herself to Picasso, Says Creativity Doesn't Have an 'Expiration Date'
Madonna thinks artists deep into their careers should stop if they don't have anything more to say. But at 56, the singer says she still has things to talk about, and in short, she feels like Pablo Picasso.
"I like to compare myself to other kinds of artists like Picasso. He kept painting and painting until the day he died. Why? Because I guess he felt inspired to do so," she said. "Life inspired him, so he had to keep expressing himself, and that's how I feel." Madonna released her self-titled debut album in 1983, and her latest album, Rebel Heart, earlier this year. She said the key to sticking around is her continual desire to inspire others. "I don't think there's a time, a date, an expiration date for being creative," she said. "I think you go until you don't have any more to say." The pop icon will launch her Rebel Heart Tour on Sept. 9 in Montreal. The tour includes more than 60 shows across North America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
Comedian Amy Schumer, whose new movie Trainwreck opened impressively at No. 2 with $30.2 million last weekend, will open for three Madonna shows in New York.
"She's a role model for women, and I am too, and I think it's a good match," said Madonna, who added that the idea to bring Schumer on board came from the singer's management team. "I love her and ... I just thought, `That's interesting.' (I'll) try something new and different rather than the usual run-of-the-mill - have a band, have a DJ. It's definitely a new thing. I hope it works - fingers crossed." Madonna says picking the set list for her upcoming tour has been hard, mainly because she wants to sing her newest songs but also satisfy her longtime, die-hard fans. "I realize I have 32 years of other songs, so I have to pick and choose. I sit there for weeks and weeks and weeks trying to figure out which of my old catalog I want to do," she said. "It's a puzzle that we have to put together `cause thematically the songs the old and the new - they have to go together; sonically they have to go together."
She's even picky about the costumes onstage. "What people "The theme I really truly explore in this show more than anything is love and romance," she said in a phone interview wear, from their footwear to the buttons on their jacket, is all from her home in New York City last week. "I want people to very important to me," she said. walk out like they're feeling inspired and like they've seen something they've never seen before (and) felt something they've never felt before."
Ryan Seacrest Inks New Mega Deal with iHeartMedia The entertainment mogul has inked a new, expanded deal with iHeartMedia. Seacrest will remain a key advisor for the company, continuing to work closely with CEO Bob Pittman and president Rich Bressler, and as a top personality across all of iHeartRadio's platforms. Welch left the group in 2005 after experiencing a spiritual awakening, but returned in 2013. Original drummer David Silveria departed in 2006 for what he called “a hiatus.” He filed a lawsuit in February requesting revenue Korn made since his departure and to be paid damages for breach of contract. He contends that his bandmates rebuffed his efforts to rejoin them in 2013.
Keith Richards Previews New Solo Album at Electric Lady Studios Party As for the music, the publicists asked journalists to hold any reviews until closer to the album's Sept. 18 release date. But let's just say this -- Crosseyed Heart is much better than most solo albums made by lead guitarists from classic rock acts. Hell, its best moments are a lot stronger than the lion's share of the Stones' '90s material. Whether he's channeling Chuck, indulging in his longstanding penchant for reggae or singin' the blues, Keef is often at his best when he's just kicking around, doing his thing on his own terms. That attitude, of course, explains why it took 23 years for his third solo album to drop, but hey no one expects a 9-5 work ethic from Keith Richards.
Keith Richards, rock n' roll's ultimate survivor, swung through the late Jimi Hendrix's Electric Lady Studios in Greenwich Village to host a listening party to Crosseyed Heart, his first solo album in 23 years. Attended primarily by journalists, label folk, publicists and a few musicians (let's just say receding hairlines and distinguished greys were readily spotted), the intimate crowd spent most of the hour-plus event with their eyes 1) fixated upon the Rolling Stones guitarist or 2) sneaking surreptitious glances at the Rolling Stones guitarist. Aside from the thrill of seeing a grizzled-yet-beaming rock warrior like Richards up close and in the (extremely weathered) flesh, half of the fun of the Crosseyed Heart listening party was watching men well past 50 fawning like Directioners.
Despite the event invite promising that Richards would be on hand to introduce the album, the rock legend -sporting a snakeskin jacket and a red Solo cup, even though 95 percent of the room sipped wine -- actually stuck around for nearly the entire event (most stars of his stature duck out at the first moment possible). The crowd offered its biggest applause for "Blues In the Morning," a surprisingly vital track featuring the scorching sax of late Stones sax player Bobby Keys. In response to the unexpectedly loud applause, Richards raised up his hands and offered a cheeky nod to his day job: "It's only rock and roll!" From anyone else, the jokey reference would have elicited a major groan. But for Keith motherf--king Richards, the crowd offered irony-free laughter. True, Keith's wit might not be as sharp as his guitar, but fortunately for all of us, he's letting his axe do the speaking on its own for the first time in two decades with Crosseyed Heart.

MTV's Susanne Daniels to Run Original Content at YouTube
The former president of programming at MTV, who announced her departure this July, will be joining YouTube as vice president originals. She will report directly to YouTube head of content Robert Kyncl and will oversee the originals team run by Alex Carloss. In her new role, Daniels, who spent three years at MTV after stints at Lifetime and WB, will manage YouTube's small but growing pipeline of original projects, overseeing development and production. "Susanne is an executive whose incredible instincts have led her to consistently generate pop culture hits that audiences relate to and root for," said Kyncl. "Susanne’s deep expertise in programming will be invaluable to us and our top creators and help them foster even more ambitious projects for YouTube." YouTube placed a big bet on original programming last year when it began holding conversations with its homegrown creators about financing some of their more ambitious projects. The Google-owned streamer lifted the veil on its plans earlier this year with the announcement of its first slate of funded projects, including a scripted comedy from The Fine Bros., a celebrity prank show from the duo behind YouTube channel Prank vs. Prank, a murder mystery reality series starring Joey Graceffa and a comedy from Smosh's Ian Hecox and Anthony Padilla. YouTube is expected to announce additional original projects as the program ramps up. Daniels' appointment to the YouTube originals post will fuel the already popular comparisons between YouTube and MTV during its heyday. Online video observers often note that YouTube's young audiences and sway over youth culture is reminiscent of the role that MTV played in young people's lives after its 1981 launch. Daniels will bring traditional entertainment experience to YouTube as it looks to expand its programming ambitions and is a coup for the 10-year-old company in the increasingly competitive online video space, which includes juggernaut Netflix as well as newer entrants such as Facebook and Jason Kilar's Vessel.
