In January 2020, Sarah Spiekermann discussed central questions of our knowledge society and how to consider relationship be tween ethics and digitalisation. At the end of the winter semester, landscape architect Michel Desvigne from Paris addressed the changes in his profession as well as the challenges arising from climate change and the urgent need for ecological responses. The COVID -19 pandemic made the summer semester 2020 a special chal lenge for us, too. We were nonetheless able to host two keynote lectures in July that were attended by the speakers and the scholarships holders and at the same time transmitted to a large online audience via live stream. Harald Welzer, sociologist and one of the leading minds of Germany, presented his future images of sustainability. Finally, architect Thomas Rau, a pioneer of the circular economy, advocated novel solutions in the construction sector, while presenting an innovative economic concept.
