SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN CANADA
HUMBER INTERNATINAL ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS
Humber College in Toronto, Canada offers full and partial tuition scholarships to international undergraduate students. The scholarships are divided throughout their three semester intakes each year (Winter, Summer, Fall). Applications will be considered based on academics, community involvement, referee/reference letters and statement of interest.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to students coming directly from high school/secondary school studies, who are non-transfer students (i.e. haven’t attended college or university, or studied in Humber’s EAP program), and are unlimited in quantity. Humber awards degree scholarships automatically to graduating high school students based on academic achievement. AWARD: Humber College offers various scholarships worth $5,000 CAD. The scholarships will be applied toward the successful students’ tuition fees. The scholarships are renewable, but the student must maintain a minimum average of 75% in order to be eligible for renewal. Learn more here. INTERNATIONAL DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH AWARDS
The IDRC offers various scholarships for master’s, PhD and post doctoral students to fund work that will address challenges in developing countries. There are also some scholarships available to Canadian students to conduct research that will benefit the developing world.
ELIGIBILITY: These scholarships are open to Canadians, permanent residents of Canada, and citizens of developing countries pursuing a master’s or a doctoral degree at a recognized university OR who have completed a master’s or a doctoral degree at a recognized university. YORK UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP
York University in Ontario, Canada offers the Global Leader of Tomorrow Scholarships and the International Entrance Scholarships to international students for full time undergraduate study.
ELIGIBILITY: York University offers multiple scholarships that are open to international students. For full eligibility requirements, click here. AWARD: The award varies depending on the scholarship. Recipients of the Global Leader of Tomorrow Award will receive $80,000 CAD ($20,000 CAD each year for 4 years); Recipients of the International Entrance Scholarships will receive $140,000 CAD ($35,000 CAD each year for 4 years). UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA INTERNATIONAL MAJOR ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS (IMES)
IMES is a merit based scholarship for students who are offered admission at the University of British Columbia. Students must be on a study permit and demonstrate outstanding academic achievement.
ELIGIBILITY: As soon as you receive an offer of admission to UBC, you’ll automatically be considered for these merit-based awards. UNIVERSITY OF MANITOBA GRADUATE FELLOWHIPS
The Government of Manitoba has provided funds to ensure that Manitoba’s best students continue education at home, to foster research that leads to economic growth and to attract excellent students to study in Manitoba.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students with a minimum GPA of 3.75 (above B+) in each of the last two years of study at a recognized university based on a bachelor’s, master’s graduate diploma or a doctoral degree. UNIVERSITY OF ALBERTA SCHOLARSHIPS
The University of Alberta offers many scholarship opportunities to undergraduate and graduate students with outstanding academic potential. MCGILL UNIVERSITY INTERNATIONAL STUDENT FUNDING

PIERRE ELLIOTT TRUDEAU FOUNDATION
The Pierre Elliott Trudeau Foundation offers doctoral scholarships in the humanities and social sciences field. The scholarship rewards Canadian and foreign students as well as those who pursue research in the relevant fields. Trudeau Scholars are outstanding students who are interested in growing in a multidisciplinary learning environment and in addressing important questions for Canada and the world.

FINCAD WOMEN IN FINANCE SCHOLARSHIP
FINCAD established FINCAD’s Women in Finance scholarship to support oustanding women in the field of finance, especially in the field of derivates and financial risk management. It is also designed to give women the opportunity to cultivate and share their skills.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to women of any nationality who wish to study finance in a graduate-level program. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded $10,000 USD to support their graduate-level studies. DEADLINE: June. Learn more here.
VARNIER CANADA GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIPS
This scholarship, launched by the government of Canada, is designed to help well qualified doctoral students pursue their studies in renowned Canadian institutions.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to Canadian citizens, permanent citizens of Canda and foreign citizens. Applicants will be considered on three equally weighted selection criteria: academic excellence, research potential and leadership. INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL FOR CANADIAN STUDIES: GRADUATE STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS
The ICCS offers 6 scholarships annually to young international scholars to spend 4-6 weeks at a Canadian University for research in the field of Canadian studies.
