SCHOLARSHIPS TO STUDY IN FINLAND
FINNISH GOVERNMENT SCHOLARSHIP
The Finnish government offers scholarships of 3-9 months for Doctoral level studies and research at Finnish universities or public research universities. The Finnish government scholarship pool program is open to young researchers from all academic fields. The scholarship does not apply to master’s level studies, post doctoral studies, or research.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to students who have been at least provisionally accepted either as a visiting Doctoral-level student/researcher, or as a full-time Doctoral degree student. For full eligibility requirements, click here. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded a monthly allowance of €1,500 EUR. The allowance is sufficient for one person only. However, expenses from travel and insurance are not covered by this scholarship. DEADLINE: This scholarship has a rolling deadline, but applications should be submitted at least 5 months prior to the beginning date of study. Learn more here.
ERASMUS MUNDUS JOINT MASTER’S DEGREES
An Erasmus Mundus Joint Master’s Degree (EMJMD), is a prestigious, integrated, international study program, jointly delivered by an international consortium of higher education institutions. EMJMDs award EU-funded scholarships to the best student candidates applying under annual selection rounds.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to applicants who have obtained a first higher education degree or demonstrate a recognized equivalent level of learning, according to national legislation and practices, in the degree-awarding countries. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded participation costs (including the tuition fees, library and laboratory costs, full insurance coverage and any other mandatory costs related to your participation in the master’s); it represents a contribution to your travel and installation costs and includes a monthly subsistence allowance for the entire duration of the study program. FULBRIGHT FINLAND U.S. STUDENT PROGRAM
The Fulbright Finland awards grants to U.S. students who hold a minimum of bachelor’s degree. Academically talented graduating seniors may also apply before having the degree in hand.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to U.S. students. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded €1,000 – €1,500 EUR per month. Grantees also receive a travel award of $1,600 USD and an accident and sickness insurance for the grant period. Additionally, grantees receive the full support services provided by the Fulbright Finland Foundation. DEADLINE: October. Learn more here.
AALTO UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM
Aalto University scholarship program seeks to recognize talented non-EU/EEA students from across the world by awarding academic excellence scholarships. These scholarships are merit based and are granted on a competitive basis. The number is limited depending on the overall number of selected non-EU/EEA students per degree program.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to non-EU/EEA citizens. Only students who are liable to pay tuition at Aalto University are eligible to apply for Aalto University scholarships. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded either 50% or 100% coverage of their tuition. DEADLINE: The scholarship decision is given at the same time with the admission decision. Learn more here.
HANKEN SCHOLARSHIP SCHEMES
Hanken school of Economics offers schemes for non-EU/EEA students that are based on merit and offer students a chance to study a master’s program at Hanken.
ELIGIBILITY: This scholarship is open to non-EU/EEA students. AWARD: Recipients will be awarded full tuition fee and €8,000 EUR per year living expenses. DEADLINE: Not specified. Learn more here.
