Ο εσωτερικός σχεδιασμός διαμερισμάτων έχει μακρά παράδοση στη διεθνή μεταπολεμική αρχιτεκτονική. Σημαντικοί αρχιτέκτονες, σε όλο τον κόσμο, έβαλαν τη σφραγίδα τους, ο καθένας με διαφορετικό τρόπο, στον εσωτερικό χώρο των διαμερισμάτων που διαμόρφωσαν στις πολυκατοικίες της εποχής. Ο πειραματικός σχεδιασμός των duplex διαμερισμάτων του Le Corbusier στις διαφορετικές Unités d’habitation που πραγματοποίησε στις δεκαετίες του ’50 και του ’60 αποτέλεσε παράδειγμα για πλήθος συναδέλφων του σε όλο τον κόσμο στα χρόνια που ακολούθησαν και σημάδεψε για πάντα την αρχιτεκτονική της κοινωνικής κατοικίας.

Αρχιτεκτονικά σκηνικά Τα διαμερίσματα των πολυκατοικιών υπήρξαν πάντα τα πεδία εφαρμογής σε μικρή κλίμακα σχεδιαστικών και τεχνολογικών καινοτομιών και χρήσης νέων υλικών και κατασκευαστικών μεθόδων, που αποτελούσαν πρελούδια ευρύτερων υλοποιημένων εφαρμογών ή μελετών σε αρχιτεκτονικούς διαγωνισμούς που δεν επρόκειτο ποτέ να πραγματοποιηθούν. Υπήρξαν επίσης τα πεδία υφολογικών και αισθητικών αναζητήσεων που σήμαναν, τόσο στην Ευρώπη, όσο και στην Αμερική, αλλά και αλλού, το πέρασμα του αστικού τόπου κατοίκησης, και συνακόλουθα της αρχιτεκτονικής, διαδοχικά από το ακαδημαϊκό ύφος και περιβάλλον των πολυκατοικιών των αρχών του 20ού αιώνα, στην αισιόδοξη, διάφανη και φωτεινή όψη της αστικής ζωής των

Interior design for apartments has a long tradition in international postwar architecture. Important architects from around the world, put their own mark on the interior spaces of apartments in buildings of that era. Le Corbusier’s experimental design of duplex apartments in his various ”Unités d’habitation”, realized in the 1950’s and 1960’s, was an example for a plethora of contemporaries worldwide in the years to come and marked social housing architecture for ever.

and 60’s and to abstract, international modernism, next to the brutalism of exposed concrete, brick and iron and its sociopolitical signifiers, then to a search for local style, related to vernacular tradition and finally to the resurrection of technological or minimal Internationalism in expensive interiors of the euphoria period at the turn of the millennium.

Today, the interior layout of apartments, constitute one of the basic, architectural creation fields internationally.

Young architects in particular find this an opportunity to test and evolve their expressive means; to measure up construction details, claim

Γεννημένος το 1956, μετά την αποφοίτησή του από το Πολυτεχνείο του Μιλάνο, ιδρύει το Studio Lissoni το 1986 και έκτοτε συνεργάζεται με πασίγνωστους σχεδιαστικούς οίκους, όπως οι Boffi, Cassina, Kartell, Living Divani και Flos, δημιουργώντας μια ποικιλία επίπλων και φωτιστικών. Η προσέγγιση του Lissoni σε ένα έργο μπορεί να χαρακτηριστεί αναγεννησιακή. Piero Lissoni is an Italian architect, famous also for his furniture, graphic and interior designs.

Born in 1956, he later graduated from the Polytechnico of Milan, founding the Studio Lissoni in 1986. He has since worked with celebrated design brands such as Boffi, Cassina, Kartell, Living Divani and Flos, creating a variety of furniture and lighting. Lissoni’s approach to a project can be characterised by a Renaissance style, designing everything from large to small scale; be it hotels, offices, showrooms, yachts, private homes or logos. He designs with a humanistic approach, rather than for a specific purpose. Piero Lissoni is always on the lookout for beauty with a touch of imperfection and believes style should be effortless.

ROSSLOVEGROVE Ο Βρετανός Ross Lovegrove θεωρείται πρωτοπόρος στον τομέα του βιομηχανικού σχεδιασμού, έχοντας εστιάσει την έρευνά του στις οργανικές μορφικές δομές. Απόφοιτος του Πολυτεχνείου του Manchester (νυν Μητροπολιτικό Πανεπιστήμιο του Manchester, 1980) με μεταπτυχιακό στο Design από το Royal College of Art, του Λονδίνου (1983) και ιδρυτής του Studio X στο Notting Hill του Λονδίνου, ο Ουαλός σχεδιαστής είναι ένθερμος θαυμαστής της ψηφιακής τεχνολογίας, την οποία συνδυάζει με αρχές της θεωρίας εξέλιξης της φύσης σε αυτό που ο ίδιος ονομάζει “fat-free design” (σχεδιασμός χωρίς λιπαρά). The British Ross Lovegrove is considered to be a pioneer in the field of industrial design having focused his research on intelligent organic form. He is a graduate of the Manchester Polytechnic School (now renamed to Metropolitan University of Manchester, 1980) and holds a Master’s degree in Design from the Royal College of Art, London (1983). Τhe Welsh born designer is the founder of Studio X, which is set up in Notting Hill, and is a passionate enthusiast of digital technology, which he combines with principles of nature’s evolution to create what he calls “fat free design”.

During his career, Ross Lovegrove has fruitfully collaborated with many leading companies, from various fields, like Artemide, Kartell, Moroso, Apple Computers, Tag Heuer, Artemide, Herman Miller, Issey Miyake, Peugeot and Japan Airlines among others. The apartment occupies the 5th and 6th floors of a building in Athens, in the area of Ardittos Hill.

On the 5th floor is the main house, consisting of a living room and kitchen, guest bathroom, office space, and a master bedroom with a dressing room and bathroom, while the 6th floor is the roof garden.

This is a small, yet complex project of a duplex apartment renovation that was especially challenging for the architects.

The objective being to give meaning and architectural value to a penthouse apartment in an otherwise generic complex, located amongst a row of similar buildings in one of Tel Aviv’s middle-class neighbourhoods.
