GREAT HORIZONS
2018

L.V.
L.V.
was a year of great satisfaction for Home Italy. The consolidation of the Club, the real core and engine of our project, has run along with the organization of events and the opening to new exciting horizons. In this issue you will find (page 39) a short story about our presence at the Venice Film Festival. It was an important moment of growth, a sign of how the philosophy of Home Italia is increasingly oriented to create opportunities for exchange between different worlds and realities. We are satisfied and proud of what we have done in this year and I take this opportunity to say “thank you” to all those who have contributed to the achievement of these goals. Starting from what has been achieved, Home Italia has decided to further broaden its horizons by proposing itself no longer as a simple publisher and events organizer but also as a creator of opportunities in the world of contract. On page 31 you can find the details of a new project focused on Albania, one of the emerging markets in Europe. But it’s just the beginning! New and even more ambitious projects for the international expansion of our brand, new important marketing opportunities, new events and new initiatives are being studied and will, as always, have their key moment at the Salone del Mobile in Milan in April. Let's stay in touch! I promise you a 2019 full of surprises and news. Happy New Year from the Home Italia staff!
Restiamo in contatto!

FIELDS OF GOLD words by Elisabetta Romanò
THE CHARM OF GOLD, IN ALL ITS SHADES AND NUANCES, MEETS THE LATEST IN DESIGNS, AND RECONFIRMS ITSELF AS A SOLUTION THAT NEVER DISAPPOINTS, ALWAYS FASHIONABLE AND ALWAYS IMPRESSIVE. LAMPS, FURNITURES, ACCESSORIES, FROME THE BIGGEST TO THE SMALLEST, EVERYTHING TAKES ON A DIFFERENT ALLURE WHEN DRESSED IN GOLD! With its ecological pure cotton wicks and with its four available sizes, Candele, the new Dr.Vranjes Firenze collection, combines high-quality waxes with pure essences like Ginger Lime, Amber, Pomegranate, Noble Red and Noble Oud. Each candle is a unique object which has in the small differences of the lines the seal of uniqueness of a craftsman's manufacture.
Graff’s Incanto collection, featuring a streamlined shape inspired by classic geometries and modern minimalism, challenges traditions in form and proportion. The highly sophisticated rose gold finish creates a bold contrast with the shapes that project a distinctly modern aesthetic, the faucet’s base and spout are actually connected without a break in material.
Nibelung by Visionnaire is more than a ceramic golden vase, is an important and timeless furnishing accessory, perfect to embellish a bookcase or give new life to a cupboard. Embellished with an external decoration, Its elegant 'diamond' design, applied by brush and fire baking, hides a white heart inside it: a colour combination always in line with the latest trends.
Arrival, a complete lamp family by Artemide, is characterized by its dynamic, flowing shapes that sculpt light with delicate, graphic lines. This original lighting idea, perfect for use in multiple series or for combining the different versions together, leaves the aluminium profile visible from the outside while generating a lightdiffusing surface inside.
Born out of De Castelli’s passion for materials, for the meticulous attention to details and for the handcrafting of all the finishing , Ribot is more than a lamp. With its unique appearance, almost like a sculpture, which makes it both delicate and important at the same time, this LED light source radiates a warm, soft light that immediately creates an atmosphere.
Beautiful to look at, ideal for serving at table, whether it's full or empty, Florida Bowl is an exquisite, glam solution for every occasion. Perfect for everyday life, this Ghidini 1961’s fruit bowl, thanks to its rose gold finish, finds its ideal stage during the holidays.
For the most precious notes, for the most important memories, for that novel still to be written, or to give as a gift to loved ones, Lingotto is the notebook that was missing. Produced by Write Sketch &. is one hundred percent made in Italy strikes for the care in the choice of materials and the precision of finishes, from Fedrigoni paper up to printing and binding.
Zenith, this original circular-shape lamp, designed by Bastien Taillard for Radar, transforms every corner of the house into a precious exhibition.nThe gold thermoformed glass, the matt black lacquered metal structure and the fabric electric wire with integrated dimmer, turn this lamp a practical and chic solution, which immediately knows how to be noticed.

In designing the Icon sofa, Michele Menescardi was inspired by a true icon in the history of Natuzzi: the model 641, from 1989. Its soft shapes and its rounded and curved appearance recall the forms of the company's tradition, updating them with contemporary and deconstructed lines: what a nice tribute!
The message of Tubini, this nice ceramic vase with a hydrolepent finish, is clear: a bunch of tubes, and not flowers, designed to accommodate not only flowers but also kitchen utensils, materials for DIY, or to be left empty, like a modern sculpture. Tubini looks like a tree and belongs to the CoDe collection by Calligaris, designed entirely by young designers.
TN-A1-Modern is part of the Beija Flor’s Tile Deco Sticker collection, which can be pasted on the kitchen tiles, or the bathroom tiles or in any other place, according to one's imagination: a sparkling way to transform a corner of the house or, why not, an entire room!
Curious, amusing and original, with its armrest reminiscent of the folded lapel of a coat, Kite, this Porro’s armchair designed by Gamfratesi, is enveloping and sophisticated. Kite is young, Kite is cool and, colored or not, it's a beauty indeed!
Penelope the armchair made for Marac, in a limited series, is hand woven by Un Pizzo and takes its cue from the technique of weaving on a frame and embroidery on mesh, revisited in a contemporary key using a large soft rope suitable for outdoor use.
Villa is one of the flagship pieces of the Kartell Kids line, designed by great designers and intended for young design enthusiasts. Fabio Novembre plays with scale architecture to build a transparent doll house: transposing his personal experience with his two daughters in this micro architectures, he creates small villas for the dreams of adults and kids alike.
The Roof Chair is a game and equally a fun-filled and functional item with multiple uses. Designed by Spalvieri & Del Ciotto for Magis, is a soft, flexible roof on which to sit or to climb, to play or to hide, even to slide or to ride! For use alone or in company, its tubular aluminium frame ensures both absolute lightness and stability.
èS is a new systems of different-sized, modular sofas, designed by Tiziano Carnieletto for Twils. Characterized by the unique angle of the armrest, with its chrome-plated steel skid-base, and soft, textured quilted upholstery, it's an invitation to relax!

ALBANIA
HOME ITALIA LANDS IN ALBANIA A GREAT RESORT WITH 210 VILLAS AND A FIVE STARS HOTEL IS READY TO BE FURNISHED BY ITALIAN COMPANIES JOINING THE EXCLUSIVE HOME ITALIA CLUB
T
he Home Italia Club is taking a new step in its expansion and development of quality Made in Italy. In 2019 it’s moving to Albania, one of the emerging countries in Europe. Green Coast Resort is a new project growing in an uncontaminated corner of the Mediterranean sea. 210 units of different sizes but all characterized by a great attention to space, light and proper integration into the environment are ready to be furnished and to become a unique place for vacation and relaxation. In this context of absolute prestige, Home Italia has secured the exclusive partnership to create the mock up of four residential units of different sizes to be furnished with companies that are part of its Club. "This is an ambitious and important project - says editor in chief Luca Valle - a project that makes us go even further with our Club project, intended as a container
and creator of opportunities. Our role is to be an innovative contractor, able to provide our partners with a complete package of furniture and professionalism to furnish with quality every type of housing unit. The first four mock up will concern a large single villa, a standard single villa and two apartments in two and four-family villas to be furnished, focusing on different styles and looks. But Home Italia's project in Albania does not end here: "Next to the resort of 210 villas - adds Luca Valle - is under construction a large 5-star hotel that completes the transformation of this area of Albania in a high-profile holiday resort. The furnishing of the hotel rooms has also been entrusted exclusively to Home Italia which will select the companies among the members of the Club. The club is growing and for Italian companies being part of it is an opportunity for a stronger growth. This is why it is important to interface with the Home Italia team to find out when and under what conditions they can participate in this great project and others of no less importance that are already being defined.

ALBANIA
ITALIAN TALENT SCOUT AND MANAGER LELE MORA LIVES ITS NEW FLAT IN A REGAL ATMPOSPHERE MADE OF GORGEOUS AND SHINING CREATIONS BY BAZZI INTERIORS DECORATIONS
ACTOR'S STUDIO
LIVING IN A LUXURY DIMENSION
«M
y home's furniture must respect my personality - says Lele Mora, accompanying us in the spaces of his new residence in Lugano - that's why I turned to a company that is still able to create real handcrafted furniture capable of making you dream.» The company he chose for its mansion is Bazzi Interior Decorations, a family owned company from Brianza, the most important Italian District for furniture, that still firmly believes in the values of craftsmanship applied to an extreme concept of luxury. «I like to receive guests, that's why I asked to Bazzi Interiors masters to create a decidedly oversized dining table to welcome friends for convivial lunches. I like being something like an amphitryon in my house and, surrounded by these wonderful pieces of furniture, I have the impression of really being a character from another era.» Bazzi Interiors still makes his furniture with skill and craftsmanship (just think that the cabinet we see on this page is made by manually setting different marbles according to the ancient technique of the Florentine Commesso). «My house is a bit like a theatre in its parts made to receive, but it is also a refuge in the most intimate rooms where I like to retreat. For this reason, the mood of the furniture must correspond profoundly to my way of feeling and living.»

ACTOR'S STUDIO
Sitting on a purple velvet armchair («I think I'm Cardinal Richelieu» says an amused Lele Mora) which is the perfect reproduction of a model kept in the Moscow Kremlin, he relaxes himself, thinking of his many commitments that see him move from one place to another in search of new talent to launch into the world of entertainment. Even if the smartphone has now become his office, to sit at a desk like the one created by Bazzi Interiors, replicating the style of the famous 18th century Turin cabinetmaker Pietro Piffetti (the base of the desk is hand-carved in French lime wood, while the top is inlaid on a rosewood base with bone decorations and hand-engraved china patterns), it manages to give a feeling of elegance that is now difficult to find in modern design furnitures.

oining new worlds, opening the horizons of design to new and prestigious scenarios: the mission of Home Italia continues to seek new ways and to communicate its innovative concept of making Club. This time the theatre of the presentation event of the new issue was the Lido di Venezia on the occasion of the 75th edition of the Venice International Film Festival. In the splendid location of the Terrazza Biennale, a few meters from the red carpet, HOME Italia in collaboration with Glory Casa has created a space for meeting and relaxation for the protagonists of the entertainment world. The event organized by our "Club" has once again united different worlds, in the name of elegance, conviviality and the exchange of ideas between different realities. Luca Valle, director of HOME Italia Magazine and Andy Liu, CEO of Glory Casa, were always present as perfect hosts, guaranteeing that friendly tone that is one of the characteristics of the Club's events. Thanks to the furnishings provided by the sponsoring companies - Baldi, Villari, Chevalier Paris, Bizzotto, Calligaris and Corradi - the Biennale Terrace has been transformed into a refined open-air relaxation-living area. Its elegant look and atmosphere attracted the attention of actors and VIPs who chose to be interviewed on one of the seats that made up the setting or simply to take a moment to exchange impressions in a welcoming environment. Stefania Rocca, Carlo Verdone, Elisa Isoardi are just some of the characters who passed through the terrace. The Hollywood Celebrity Lounge - set up by Castelli, Clan, NEC, Rossetto and with a limited edition piano by Steinway & Sons - hosted artists such as Kasia Smutniak, Diana Del Bufalo, Marianna Fontana, Massimiliano Gallo, Hujun, Guillermo Francella, Luis Brandoni, Salvatore Esposito, Nastassja Kinski. As always, HOME Italia Magazine celebrated the release of the new issue with a party in style. The grand gala was held on the evening of September 6; the special guest was the delegation of the film Shadow by the great Chinese director Zhang Yimou, winner of the Jaeger Le Coultre prize. Glory Casa, on the other hand, was given the task of closing the Venice Film Festival in style and of arranging the appointment for next year with the exclusive Dinner Gala dedicated to the film Driven. The event was attended by director Nick Hamm and protagonists Lee Pace (The Hobbit) and Jason Sudaikis.

Erano presenti all’evento il regista Nick Hamm e i protagonisti Lee Pace (Lo Hobbit) e Jason Sudaikis.

historic building in the heart of Milan, designed by the architect Maurizio Lai, has been renovated in a contemporary and rational way, playing with perspectives. The spaces, on three levels, are joined by a monumental staircase that forms the link between the reception areas and the more private ones. The total renovation of the interior, which plays on a sophisticated palette of colors, changes the face of a villa of the seventies in the hills of Brescia. A simple space becomes a veritable manifesto of elegance and refinement signed by interior designer Claudia Pellizzari.
MILAN
Architect Carlo Colombo signs a renovation’s project of a villa near Milan. The geometric style that characterizes the architect’s works, is here aimed at enhancing the light that heats and ennobles the spaces in dialogue with the design of the furniture and the refinement of materials. The elegance and luxury of the rooms reinterpreted in a modern key are the characteristics of this renovation of a London penthouse, signed Hill House Interiors. In the rooms of this house, precious materials dialogue with antique furniture and contemporary pieces of furniture.

Here, in an effervescent area, gentrification is rapidly taking its course and what were once workers' homes or factories are now transformed into high-end residences. The large apartment designed by Maurizio Lai occupies a former semi-industrial space; the productive past of the rooms can be clearly seen in the ground floor layout, punctuated by stone columns and round arches maintained as they were originally made. The spaces are divided into
three levels, joined by a monumental and essential staircase, which with its ramps connected to a series of bridges and mezzanines unites the spaces of the reception to those more private. However, the eye is free to wander and climb to the top, effortlessly penetrating between the transparent glass balustrades. The heart of the house is the living area on the ground floor, where the relaxation area, dining area, kitchen and a black grand piano are arranged seamlessly. With the exception of a smoked glass backdrop that insulates the kitchen, the same pieces of furniture dictate the function of the various spaces. The

pieces chosen belong to the catalogues of some of the most important Italian companies: Cassina, Poltrona Frau, Porro for the furniture and upholstery, Flos and FontanaArte for the lamps. The systems are managed by a Vimar automation system, because comfort cannot now be achieved without precise control of lights, windows and air conditioning. The colours chosen by Lai are white, black and all shades of grey. The elegant and sophisticated atmosphere is warmed up by the oak floor laid in all the rooms.

real renovation is not a simple renovation of the walls but a global rethinking of the space that goes from the load-bearing structures to the smallest details of furniture. This is the story of a villa dating back to the seventies, suspended in time between the soft hills of Brescia, which has been completely transformed into a true manifesto of elegance and grace. The project was entrusted by the client to Claudia Pelizzari, interior designer, who with her twenty years of experience, has renovated the interior, from the plan to the redistribution of space, focusing on the restyling of the exterior
and the choice of colours. The choice was an original grey’s palette that is such as a chromatic guide for the house’s visual. A sophisticated and very modern colour, which harmonises and creates contrast and which flows through the various rooms in all its nuances, from the greige boiserie to the metallic nuances, passing through the textiles and furnishings. The reference to material, purity and essence is more evident than ever in the three main rooms: kitchen, living room and dining room. These spaces are connected not only physically but also ideologically, thanks to the attention to

detail and the combination of classic and modern choices. Dedar's textiles, antique furniture and velvet seats blend harmoniously with the kitchen, which has essential lines, with the structural elements, among which the doorway containing two sliding doors, made of glass with metal fabric, stands out. Absolute attention to detail, nothing is casual: everything works to create an open fluid consistency. The lighting design project also contributes to make every corner of the house special and unique: the spotlights that bring to the forefront the precious collection
of contemporary art, the wall washer effect that highlights the architectural details and enhances the decorative elements, the choice of simple but high-impact lamps such as Balance by Vibia are selected to combine elegance and sophistication. This peculiar decorative philosophy is particularly striking in the double height living room dominated by the bookcase cabinet and the corner sofa in grey linen. A lead grey museum display also serves as a backdrop for a 17th century Lombard antique downplayed by a painting of Vanessa Beecroft.

iving at the gates of a large urban center can be a winning choice: you can enjoy the tranquility and greenery typical of provincial cities without giving up all the services offered by a metropolis. This must have been the thought of the family who entrusted the architect and designer Carlo Colombo with the project for their villa, a few steps from Milan. Colombo took care of both the architectural and interior design. The house was built from scratch, but respecting the perimeter and heights of the existing building. It is surrounded by a large private garden and also has a swimming pool with solarium; during the excavations a box and underground technical rooms were also created. The cooling and heating systems placed on the floor, combined with the installation of solar panels for the production of energy, make the residence a small jewel in a green key. The large internal surface area - of about 1,000 square meters - is divided into two levels. On the ground floor, directly overlooking the pool, are the living room - with study, relaxation area and TV guest rooms, kitchen and more formal services. The first floor is dedicated to the family, with bedrooms and bathrooms. The rooms are furnished with
contemporary design furniture by leading Italian companies as Poliform; Colombo has impressed his pure and geometric style also through the creation of tailor-made solutions. Doors, boiseries, storage units, wardrobes combine good design and craftsmanship, attention to detail is maximum. Architect Carlo Colombo tells us: "Material plays a fundamental role: it is in fact a visual and tactile experience. Let's look at the stairs for example: they impose themselves with their linear figure almost as if they were a plastic abstraction. The stairs are made of blocks of stone gathered in a bronze structure that in the evening are illuminated by LEDs that dot the paneling bands. All the rooms are embellished by the presence of precious objects and works of contemporary art, exhibited with care. The full-height windows let in abundant natural light. Colombo continues: "During the day, the rays of the sun give the interiors other soft tones, chiaroscuro and contrasting lights on the surfaces. The absolute white of the material-chromatic palette of the exteriors meets the contrasting warmth of dark stained oak wood in the interiors, which evens out floors and walls. Without a doubt, this is a project that lives on transparencies and light".

piccolo gioiello in chiave green.

hat strikes at first glance in this London penthouse is the sumptuousness and luxury of the rooms reinterpreted in a modern key by the founding couple of Hill House Interiors. The marble floors, classic and timeless, lead to a majestic and very bright living area. Large windows, furniture’s shades, preciousness of the pearly finishes and a wide use of mirrors create a magical effect of space and light multiplication. "We like to blend different textures," explain the two interior designers on the use of the mirror throughout the project, "and we love the effect of mirrors that reflect the immensely tactile textiles. Here, then, are the fine Persian carpets of the owner of the house, with their Middle Eastern touch, accompanying the two buttercolored sofas by Visionnaire, the precious tables
by Cornelio Cappellini and the large system of custom cabinets for the TV, clearly inspired by Art Deco. Confirming a clear stylistic path, managed by the finishes, the textiles and the decorations, even moving in the bedrooms you continue to perceive that feeling of studied refinement that acts as a leitmotif between all environments. A very masculine room, in blue navy tones, blends harmoniously with the master suite, dominated by a full-height headboard and immersed in the warm tones of the oyster, sharing a feeling of luxury and tranquility. A very special place is the Shisha room with a dedicated bar area, full of Middle East fascinations: here a pop palette of shades, ranging from pink to purple, leads the game together with a sculpture of the owner recalling colours harmony.

dansk is an unforgettable city, a city where we feel right at home. The heterogeneous architecture that tells its story, the clean and tidy but at the same time jaunty air, and even the old abandoned port warehouses, make it a city where you can stay a few more days, looking for beautiful beaches on the Baltic Sea or hidden corners to get lost. Then there is a particular area, which more than others captures the interest, the Granary Island: completely destroyed during the Second World War, is now the subject of a constant urban recovery and level that has made it in recent years one of the favorite tourist destinations in Poland. On this island, inspired by its disused historical buildings and its past spirit, the London-based studio DeSallesFlint designed the newcomer to the Puro Hotel chain. A contemporary and elegant hotel where the initial design idea is reflected both in the architectural choices and in the choice of furnishings, where the restaurant The Dancing Anchor becomes the most fitting example. With its style halfway between industrial and vintage, with the large ropes hanging from the ceiling in memory of those barns that were the heart of the city itself, and with that welcoming atmosphere, it attracts at first glance. If that were not enough, a greenhouse structure, "The Shed", has been designed just above the restaurant, which not only
gives uniqueness to the environment, visually connecting the conference room on the first floor to the restaurant, but illuminates all the interiors giving the rooms an inimitable warmth. In addition to The Dancing Anchor, the Puro Hotel in Gdansk houses more than two hundred rooms, nine suites, a spa, the gastro bar Ink, and the rooftop bar Ink Above. All the furnishings have been selected with coherence and continuity, with an evident eclectic research that ranges from elements of industrial recovery to iconic pieces by Magis, Moroso and Foscarini, up to the funny carpets by Gorlan 1898 that contribute to illuminate and embellish the lounge area behind the reception. The leitmotif of all the rooms is the presence of natural and artificial light, which becomes the silent but fundamental protagonist, transforming the interiors of the Puro Hotel into magical atmospheres to be appreciated both during the day and at sunset. An atmosphere that can also be felt in the rooms, simple and spacious, with a refined design and soft colours, perfect solutions to make the environment warm and welcoming. The Puro Hotel is therefore not only the right place for lovers of beautiful and original things, but, as designed by the studio DeSallesFlint, the ideal place to visit the city: "Our design work was to create a hotel that belonged to the city, attracting locals and independent and international travelers".

T
he Relais Christine is located in the charming streets of the Rive Gauche, an evocative place for bohemian intellectuals and students of the Sorbonne, built on the remains of the Abbey of the Great Augustinians of the thirteenth century. The interiors are reminiscent of a classic Parisian house, one of those delightful homes full of colour, life and timeless refinement. A hospitable and captivating environment, revisited in a modern key by the architect and interior decorator Laura Gonzalez called to give new life to this 5-star hotel, a hotel that in addition to being a concentration of charm and elegance is also a piece of history. For its restoration,
Gonzalez has designed ten rooms with different colour themes and common spaces with a classic spirit. The trait d’union are the textiles: coloured, precious, soft, wisely chosen by companies such as Dedar, Rubelli and Pierre Frey and able to revolutionize a room on their own. The skill and passion of this restoration, however, can be seen above all in the combination of fabrics and furnishings, between lighting designed ad hoc and beautiful floors recovered. A magical hotel that invites you to walk through its doors and let yourself be enveloped by the Parisian spirit that, in this place more than in others, you can breathe from the ground up.

Details of one of the corner of the Igniv restaurant.
O
verlooking the crystal clear waters of lake of Sankt. Moritz, inside Badrutt's Palace St. Moritz, there is a unique and original restaurant with a thousand surprises. First of all, its name, Igniv, whose meaning in Romansh is that of "nest": a more than appropriate term by observing the interior, so warm, welcoming and convivial. A traditional mountain atmosphere, perfectly in harmony with the spirit of the place, with modern, soft furnishings and delicate colors, which reflects down to the smallest detail the partnership between the Urquiola Studio that took care of the project, and the philosophy of sharing typical of chef Andreas Caminada. The client's request was to keep the original walls with details that would also reflect the personality of the Swiss chef: hence the idea of superimposing on the walls a screen made of nautical ropes that would allow a good view of the decorations and lozenges of the twentieth century. A solution of undisputed originality, paradigm of the union of excellence between the starred chef and the Spanish designer. The essence and philosophy
of both personalities, therefore, merge for the second time, after a first proven result at the Igniv Restaurant of the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz, and reach new levels of harmony and taste between the rooms of this restaurant with large windows that offer a panoramic view unique in the world. This "nest" is divided into two main rooms, with round marble tables, and a few smaller, more intimate rooms furnished with pieces by Moroso and Very Wood designed by Patricia Urquiola herself. Soft colours, essentiality and warmth to which the task of making guests feel welcomed and pampered is entrusted. The mountain light that filters through the windows and the wooden floors also help to recreate this welcoming atmosphere that invites to conviviality and rest. It's easy to imagine yourself sitting at the tables, distracting yourself from one course to another in the innovative cuisine of Caminada, observing a snow-clad Sankt Moritz or a verdant one in summer. Igniv is a restaurant where you can sit down, indulge in the culinary experience and forget about the time that passes, letting yourself be enveloped by the charm of this nest in the Swiss Alps.

“Thus, the project coexists with
the historical layers and the design approach of Patricia Urquiola; at the same time, it becomes the key to enhance the sensorial experience of Andreas Caminada Studio Patricia Urquiola

he second life of the Enel building in via Ceresio 7 in Milan is a long way from the building's primary industrial vocation. Restored to a design by storagemilano, the building dating back to the Thirties is now the fascinating home of the fashion house Dsquared2. But the brothers Dean and Dan Caten, founders of the maison, wanted to do more and have included inside the headquarters also a place - the Ceresio7 pools and restaurant, the rooftop bar with breathtaking views overlooking the skyscrapers of Porta Nuova - and a super chic gym. Ceresio7 Gym Spa is a space dedicated to 360° wellness. The spaces, again by storagemilano, speak a different
language in the various areas that make up the center. The common thread of the gym itself, the spa area and the beauty centre is the search for an essential language, which does not yield to decorativism, but through careful research into materials and finishes speaks the language of Milanese interiors of the early twentieth century. For the renovation, the architects completely reorganized the plan, demolishing the partitions and preserving only the load-bearing structures (walls and columns). The gym is a functional area, rough and almost brutalist, with black rubber floors, rough concrete walls and exposed installations. Tecnogym equipment and basic

crossfitting tools are the only "furnishings" in the rooms, four in all: two for free training and two for private lessons with personal trainers. In addition to these spaces, customers have two rooms for group courses. The locker rooms are warmer, with wooden wardrobes and an almost maniacal attention to detail. Just think that storagemilano has also designed custom-made soap dispensers! The Spa, completely covered in Ceppo Lombardo stone (an ornamental stone with a characteristic blue-grey colour), is rigorous and suffers more from the other rooms of the rationalist heritage of the place. The space is marked by four sliding brass doors that, like the doors of precious vaults,
enclose the areas of special treatments such as cryotherapy, balneotherapy and thalasso therapy. The wellness path, completely covered in Ceppo Lombardo stone, is made special by a soft light that naturally invites people to the central whirlpool pool. Around the pool the sun loungers and the octane green walls invite you to relax. All the furnishings - the eco-leather beds, the tables are made to order. At the end of the room, like a treasure chest, there is a metal niche that houses the shears and drinks available to customers. The offer is completed by three wooden saunas and two hammams, pure and essential volumes designed to ensure privacy during stops.

crioterapia, balneoterapia e thalasso terapia.

NEWS FROM THE DESIGN WORLD words by Francesca Tagliabue
Who does what in the Design World TURRI Turri supplied all the furniture for the show apartment of ‘The One’ residential complex in Hangzhou, China. The interior was designed by Andrea Bonini, a designer who has worked with Turri for years. In order to supply a furnished house, the company team took care of the internal division of the spaces. The collections of furniture chosen for this project are Avalon, Noir and Madison. All the pieces have been selected in shades of beige and brown, with some blue accents. The apartment was sold immediately after its presentation.
POLIFORM After a long renovation phase, the Hotel Lutetia in Paris reopened its doors. Opened in 1910, the hotel has found new verve thanks to the intervention of the architect Jean-Michael Wilmotte, who has been able to recover the most interesting artistic and decorative details. Among the brands of excellence chosen for the furniture stands out Poliform, which has dealt with the fitting for all common parts: Lobby, Concierge, Borghese Ballroom, Orangery and Brasserie. The products have been customised to create a unique atmosphere, where every single detail has been carefully taken care of.
B&B The B&B Italia Group has acquired Azucena, a historic Italian brand founded in 1947 by architects Luigi Caccia Dominioni, Ignazio Gardella and Corrado Corradi Dell'Acqua. Starting from October 2018, under the Azucena brand, the re-editions of the first 20 products designed by Luigi Caccia Dominioni - one of the main Italian masters of post-war design and architecture - were marketed and previewed by B&B Italia last April on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile. Chairs, armchairs, sofas, tables and lamps, perhaps too long forgotten, are ready for a new, interesting, revival. Under the banner of designer design.

MOLTENI&C Molteni&C|Dada Contract Division has furnished the new Davines Village headquarters with custom-made solutions and pieces from the Heritage Collection. The complex, designed by Matteo Thun&Partners, is located not far from Parma and includes office space, training, research and development laboratory, production plant, warehouse and a large central greenhouse used as a restaurant and co-working space. The interiors are far from a traditional "corporate image" and have been designed by Monica Signani, who has also followed the customization of the products of the Brianza company.
CALLIGARIS Naos Design has designed the restyling of the Spoon fusion restaurant in Milan. For the dining room, the designers have created custom-made furniture that integrates with some of the products in the Calligaris Contract catalogue. The choice fell on the new Love chairs, with a polished brass frame and padded shell, quilted and upholstered in pink and ocean blue velvet, combined with round and rectangular Cocktail tables, with tops in Slate effect laminate but finished with edges in brushed brass ABS.

PORADA It's already time for a restyling of the new Milanese showroom in Porada, opened last April in via Borgospesso 18. The new layout abandons the previous minimal look and transforms the space into a welcoming and lively "home". Precious backlit wood and wallpaper boiseries, alternating with bronze walls, give life to warm and refined environments, which pays tribute to the 50s and 60s. The Eighteen collection, exhibited during the last edition of the Salone del Mobile, is also on display.
POLTRONA FRAU The new MGM Macau Resort Theatre is an entertainment gem designed by ScĂŠno Plus in the MGM Macau Resort Theatre hotel. For the multi-purpose hall which, thanks to its 10 different configuration options, can accommodate any type of event. Poltrona Frau has designed 2000 armchairs for spectators, these are special seats, with wooden backs and armrests and an integrated safety light, covered with a fabric spun exclusively for the theatre. The supply was a great success for the Italian company, which has thus established itself as one of the most important manufacturers of armchairs for theatres.

VISIONNAIRE Until February 2, the photographic exhibition "Varanasi" will be staged at the Wunderkammer Visionnaire, inside the flagship store of Piazza Cavour 3 in Milan. The exhibition collects a series of shots made by Paolo Balboni that tell the most important place for the Hindu religion in India. This is an interesting initiative that connects culture and design, born of the company's desire to open its spaces to a wider and more multifaceted public.

THE italian COMPANY CONTINUES ITS CONQUEST OF THE AMERICAN MARKET, CAREFULLY CHOOSING ITS REPRESENTATIVE SHOWROOMS
DESIGN SHOWROOM
Poliform on Madison
P
oliform has been present in North America since the late 1990s. Today, the brand is one of the most established ambassadors of Made in Italy overseas and presents its creations to the public in over 45 stores located in major cities. Among the U.S. flagships stores, standing out for its position and size, 112 Madison Avenue, in the NoMad in New York City. Friendly renamed Poliform on Madison, it is the company's second showroom in the Big Apple (the first was opened in 2011 in the A&D Building 150 E 58th S). Located just a few steps from Madison Square Park and the iconic Cast Iron Building, Poliform on Madison covers an area of over 900 square meters, spread over two floors. The street display windows, with their particular leaded structure creating a grid and reminiscent of Brooklyn's industrial architecture, allow passers-by to look deep into the interior. The new show room consists of spaces and rooms of various sizes, a useful trick to create a "domestic flavor" perfect to expose the collections and make the arrangements warm and inviting. At Poliform on Madison the concept of the brand's total home is on show. The exhibition ranges from living areas to walk-in closets, from sleeping areas to Varenna kitchens (there are 12 models on display), through to accessories and upholstered furniture.

DESIGN SHOWROOM

WELLNESS
HUGGED BY WINTER words by Elisabetta Romanò
IT’S TIME FOR COZINESS, IT’S TIME FOR A SCENTED BATH IN CANDELIGHT, FOR A WARM SHOWER AFTER A WALK, READING A BOOK COCOONED IN THE WARMTH OF AN ARMCHAIR, IT’S TIME FOR THE EVOCATIVE LIGHT OF THE FIREPLACE, OR FOR A SOFT BED TO REST IN AT THE END OF A LONG DAY: ALL OF THIS ( AND MUCH MORE) … IS COZY!
Thanks to its design designed to enhance any location, from the bathroom to the kitchen, from the living room to the bedroom, Waffle, the new radiator arised from the partnership between Antrax and Piero Lissoni, is a modular system that can be installed either horizontally or vertically, up to a maximum of five elements. With a technological core, and produced in recyclable cast aluminium, Waffle has restyled the concept of the historic cast iron radiator by giving it a new interpretation.
Jennifer is the new La Nordica Extraflame wood stove which offers an elegant design with modern lines, high performances and low emissions. It features a generous cast-iron firebox that loads logs up to fifty centimetres and makes it possible to take in combustion air from outdoors during installation: the fireplace is an evergreen!
To celebrate the arrival of the low temperatures, and to toast to the magic of winter, Gabel's Naturae collection is enriched with new designs with a ‘winter wonderland’ style. Tricot, one of the new arrivals, immediately conquers with its elegant simplicity, the sense of warmth it emanates, and its softness, perfect for cold winter nights.
The new look of Watercandy by Zucchetti strikes at first glance, a shower knob that is first of all an innovative idea: handy and small in size, in addition to performing its classic function also exerts a massaging action on the body. Thanks to the hydrotherapy capacity of the water, it favours a decontracting and anti-stress relaxation; at the same time, it stimulates an awakening of the vital energies, thanks to jets of different intensity and capacity, adjustable according to one's desires.
Plateau, the oval bathtub by ex.t designed by Sebastian Herkner, is characterized by a refined side tray, or plateau, designed as a continuum of the side surface of the bathtub, and that encloses in itself aesthetics and functionality: a practical support to keep at hand everything you need during bath time. Made of LivingTec®, a material of the highest quality standards, the bathtub can also be designed with the plateau exclusively on the right or left.
