• The courtyards proposed by this competition entry cater for light to penetrate the building into its core and pose as its main design feature. • UIB Library functions as a cell-like interconnected structure with its sunken in courtyards catering for air circulation, water collection, roof gardens, terraces, and light penetration - much like an organism • Differing light qualities as emitted by the courtyards influence the layout of the furniture and guide the usage of spaces.
