A letter from the Editor
Dear Readers,
You know those moments when you are just hanging out with your friends and you reach a point where your entire body just relaxes? Or how about when you are so engrossed in the joy that it is the only thing you can experience? All troubles temporarily go out the window and all you can focus on is how good it is, whatever it is. It’s those times where you are laughing so hard that you can barely breathe. It’s the realization that your face is hurting because you have been smiling so widely for so long. It’s those long silences when you are just happy to be existing and grateful to be experiencing that specific moment.
I saw something not too long ago that said we often find ourselves being cautious of being exposed to our triggers. It makes sense. It’s your brain's way of trying to keep you safe and protect you from potential harm. That being said, this particular post was referring to watching out for your “shimmers.” These are the moments that make you stop and feel grateful to be on this earth. They are the sunsets and campfires under the stars. They are the acts of kindness from strangers and the way the warm sun feels on your skin. From the cliches to the moments that are almost too insanely perfect to ever anticipate let alone describe, these are the shimmers.
We often see kids point out their shimmers. How many times have you seen a child experiencing something and they are truly just happy to be there? Somewhere along the line we stop finding things exciting and fun. We get caught up in the things we have to do and leave little time for what we want to do. I think it’s time we change that. This month I encourage you to actively look out for your shimmers and when you find them, try and expose yourself to them a little more often. Share them with others. Tell them why that thing is a shimmer for you. Let yourself fully submerge into the joy.
Wishing you all an abundance of joy and happy solstice.
With love and light, Aria

EMBRACING THE MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT OF YOUR INNER
Child
In the whirlwind of adulting with its endless array of responsibilities, deadlines, and serious faces, it's so easy to forget that inside each of us dances a playful, curious, and wonder-filled child.
Remember those days when every question started with a "Why?" and every answer led to another "Why?" The mind of our inner child is insatiably curious, unafraid of questions or the unknown. Rekindling that curiosity by learning something new, just for the fun of it can do wonders. Dust off that guitar, learn to juggle, or dive into the mysteries of the universe through books or documentaries. Cultivate a 'beginner’s mind' where everything is fresh and fascinating, and laughter is the best punctuation.
Our bodies are not just vehicles to lug our brains around, they are the temples of play! Remember the joy of spinning until you're dizzy, running just to feel the wind against your face, tasting a snowflake on your tongue or the simple act of finger painting? Your inner child cherishes movement and expression. Reinvent your relationship with your body through dance, yoga, or even a playful wrestle or mimicking with your family pet. Wear outfits that make you radiate joy. Encourage your body to move in ways that spill laughter and spark joy. Your body was made for play, so give it the playground it deserves.
The spirit of our inner child sees the magic in everything and is quick to find the connections that link us all. It's the part of you that finds wonder in a sunset, sees shapes in clouds, and believes in the power of dreams. Reconnect with your spirit by practicing gratitude, spending time in nature, or engaging in creative activities without a purpose other than to enjoy the process. Meditate with the intention of simply being in the moment, as a child would fully and profoundly.
Here are some simple tips to keep the child in you alive:
Use your “curiosity lens”. Approach the world with wonder and a readiness to learn.
Practice joyful movement. Find pleasure in being active, be it through a dance party in your living room or a solo hike.
Ignite your creative sparks. Allow yourself the freedom to create without judgment, whether it’s through art, cooking, or storytelling.
Practice gratitude. Take a moment each day to look for and acknowledge the magic in the mundane.
Let's not just grow up but also grow down, reacquainting ourselves with the simplicity and joy of seeing the world through the eyes of our inner child. Here's to a life lived playfully, where every
How a Simple Game United a Community
By Chris LeeLife in the big city during my formative years was always an adventure. Every season of the year brought with it a unique set of challenges and dreads. Returning to school in the fall, and getting used to new classmates and teachers was tricky. Plodding through heavy snow in the winter made me want to move to a warmer city. Spring in the midwest of the U.S. brought unpredictable weather, dirty snow, and muddy fields. But summer was something altogether different! The end of a long school year, spending weeks at a time with friends and family, and my personal favorite - playing baseball.
Regardless of how much fun I had during the week, I always looked forward to Sunday afternoon. On Sunday afternoons, people always got together for a ball game. The Sunday afternoon game brought a motley crew of folks together - everyone from church folks to vagrants and everything in between.
It was amazing, and at times confusing. The people I saw arguing every single day were putting their differences aside for a couple of hours each week to enjoy a community recreational activity. In my young mind, I always wondered why they would go back to whatever disagreements they had brewing.
As I grew older, I came to have a much deeper understanding of why this Sunday summer ritual was so popular. It wasn't just about the game; it was about the profound human need for connection and community. In those brief hours, people transcended their everyday conflicts and worries, finding much-needed reassurance and joy in a shared purpose.
The ball field became a sacred space where differences melted away, replaced by laughter, camaraderie, and the simple, unifying pleasure of play. This weekly gathering was a testament to the healing power of coming together. It reminded everyone that beneath the layers of daily strife, there existed a common bond that could be rekindled through the spirit of collective enjoyment.
In those moments, I witnessed firsthand how the power of play could mend fractured relationships, create new friendships, and elicit a sense of belonging that resonated far beyond the ball field. Even if only for two hours, it gave people hope. It was a microcosm of harmony, an oasis of unity in an otherwise divided world, teaching us all the invaluable lesson that - despite our differences, we are all part of a larger, interconnected community.

PLAY TIME
By: Aria de LimaA couple weeks ago I was getting ready to go out and found myself in one of my regular dilemmas of trying to figure out what to wear. For those of you who don’t know me personally, I will admit that I have a lot of clothes. Some people may say I have too many, however I am not one of them.
For anyone else who is a fan of clothing, you know that it’s all about how you feel in them. It depends on where you are going and what you are doing. I found that I have a very hard time doing anything if I don’t feel like I look the part. Some days I go out to get groceries and I am the busy lady who has just got off work and is hustling to get dinner on the table. This will be followed by the completion of a list of other productive things that will get done because I am amazing! Other days I am the free spirited college student who has been living off coffee, cereal and ramen for the past 3 weeks while she studies hard but still finds time to party every weekend.
Neither one is “better” than the other, I am dressing my body for the version of me that I am at that moment. I am the wardrobe team trying to nail the look. While I know this is not something that everyone can relate to, I actually quite enjoy doing this. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I like it because I am playing dress up. I pick the version of me I am going to be that day. Here are some ways that you may be able to incorporate play into your daily life:

As we move into the second half of this year The COLE (The Council of Light and Energy) is emphasizing our need for harmony. It is the time for tuning.
For some of you, the message is to bring harmony within yourself. Strengthen your awareness towards your mind, body, and spirit, in order to create harmony amongst them and unity between them. The COLE Wish to remind you that the unity of mind-body and spirit equates to alignment with one’s true self.
For some of you, the message is to recognize yourself and others and harmonize yourself with those others. We are all one. When you show up as a harmonized being you bring that harmony with you everywhere you go and allow the opportunity for others to tune into that harmony within themselves and beautiful melodies.
For some of you, the message is to recognize that by being yourself you are bringing your unique sound into the orchestra. The COLE notes that we do not want an orchestra full of French horns or full of trombones or full of violence. We need unique sounds in order to create harmony. By showing up as yourself you allow the world to sing in harmony.
Communication will be a key instrument to assist you in tuning in and hitting all your notes.
With my pure love and appreciation, Energi Empress Priya
