The Crown Chakra By:Andrea Sipcic The Crown Chakra, or Sahasrara, is the seventh and last major Chakra, located at the very top of the head and represented by the colour purple/violet or white. It is the most spiritual of all the Chakras and is based on oneness and unity with the Divine/Source/Higher Power, as it gives us access to higher states of consciousness and is our connection to the Universe and Universal force. The head, brain, ears, eyes, pineal gland, skeletal and muscular systems, and skin are all encompassed by the Crown Chakra. Having this Chakra in balance brings spiritual understanding, peace, calm, and a joyful outlook with a clear perspective.
How to know when your Crown Chakra is out of balance Common causes, signs, and symptoms of an imbalanced Crown Chakra include:
Headaches Light sensitivities Skin conditions such as eczema and rashes Depression Insomnia Mental Fogginess Stubbornness Narrow mindedness Autoimmune disorders
Ways to balance your Crown Chakra If you sense your Crown Chakra is out of balance, here are some ways to help clear, heal, and bring it back into balance:
Silent meditation Yoga (slow practice) with plenty of focus on the breath Being outside in the sunlight Use crystals such as Amethyst, Clear Quartz, and Sugilite Wear purple, violet, and/or white clothing Use essential oils associated with the Crown Chakra such as Jasmine, Frankincense, Lavender, and Rose Incorporate affirmations that are supportive of the Crown Chakra Drink herbal teas such as peppermint or ginger

Family Yoga By Lisa Brenner
Yoga with babies and children may not look the same as your regular practice (if you have one) but is a great way to incorporate more movement into your days all together as a family. Young children learn best by observation. If they see you stretching and moving in ways that seem fun and silly it may just encourage them to give it a try!
Short sessions are best for kids; even a few minutes a day can help increase focus, body awareness and mindfulness, enhance concentration and memory, develop strength and flexibility, and aid in emotional regulation.
For Yoga with a small baby, you can lie them on your mat and engage with them as you move through your practice by making eye contact, smiling, touching, and lots of kisses! There are even poses that can safely be done while holding your baby. If you are unfamiliar with the practice you can find many examples by searching online for ‘baby yoga.’ This is a great way to ease much of the tightness and discomfort that comes with caring for a little one, such as in the shoulders, neck and chest, hips and lower back. Many Yoga studios offer parent and baby classes, whether in person or online. This is a great way to connect with other parents that are in the same life stage and to have a sense of community. Being home with a baby can be quite isolating. Connecting with other parents is vital to help feel supported during this time.
If you’ve recently had a baby it is best to wait 4-6 weeks after birth, or 8-10 weeks following a caesarean birth, and after you have received the go-ahead from your care provider that it is safe to resume physical activity.
There are many different ways of introducing young children to a movement practice. The following list provides a few suggestions to get you started.
Singing songs. Incorporating songs or rhymes into your practice time is a great way for kids to learn movements that go along with the words. Try wheels on the bus, head and shoulders, or I’m a little teapot. Imitating animals by their shapes and how they move. Telling stories and using poses to act them out. Playing games like Simon Says, Charades, or mirroring movements.
There are many great kids yoga programs available on YouTube as well. Cosmic Kids Yoga (https://www.youtube.com/user/CosmicKidsYoga) has a very popular channel with many videos to choose from. Their videos range from high energy to peaceful guided relaxation, so you’re sure to find something to suit your child’s temperament or needs on any given day. There are themed classes based on animals, seasons, events, and even popular video games! Finding a class based on your child’s interests is a great way to start getting them involved in a movement practice.
The most important thing to remember is to keep it easy, relaxed, and fun! And keep trying! Your child might not be interested right away, or may have a short attention span, and that’s ok. If there is no pressure to do Yoga ‘the right way,’ kids will be more likely to give it a try and find their own way to have fun with it. Before you know it your little one may be busting out their Down Dog in the kitchen saying “look at me!”

My Inner Wisdom Guides Me by Tanya Mouland
We know that our body has the ability to heal itself. Did you know the body can also provide us with information to make healthier and more optimal choices? The Sway Test is an easy-to-do exercise to tap into our own body’s knowing.
How to do the Sway Test:
Identify the body’s communication to represent a “yes,” or “this supports me.”
Step 1: Sitting comfortably, both feet on the floor, hands resting on your lap OR standing comfortably, feet lined up under hips, arms down. Step 2: Eyes open or closed. If open, focus softly on an object in front of you. Step 3: Take 2-3 deep belly breaths. Become aware of your body – the sensations, your breath, your feet connecting equally with the floor. Become fully present. Step 4: Ask your body: “Show me or demonstrate a YES.” Pause. Allow your body to lead. Ask again if required. Step 5: Notice what the movement is. If there is no obvious movement, sip some water and repeat the steps.
Identify the body’s communication to represent a “no,” or “this doesn’t support me.”
Repeat steps 1-3 Step 4: Ask your body: “Show me or demonstrate a NO.” Pause. Allow your body to lead. Ask again if required. Step 5: Notice what the movement is.
Note: Your Yes/No sway direction can change. Do a little check in from time to time. Not everyone does a sway front for Yes and sway back for No. It is a common pattern, but it is okay if yours is different! I personally use the sway test regularly in my everyday life. Some examples of how I use the Sway Test include:
1. Identifying the best supplement that supports my body B12 enhances my system’s functioning and well-being. With so many B12 products available, I don’t know which one to purchase. Using the Sway Test, I’m able to find the product that is best for me. I select a B12 product, hold it on my abdomen (between the solar plexus and navel), make the statement “This supports my system,” and wait for my body’s response. A sway ‘yes’ means this product makes my system stronger and this is a good one to take. A sway ‘no’ means select another product.
2. Wording for affirmations Affirmations can be powerful. Sometimes the words can have a negative effect on the unconscious, thereby limiting the impact of the affirmation. I like to use the Sway Test on affirmations to see if they strengthen my system. I simply state the affirmation and notice the Sway. If it’s a Yes, then the affirmation provides positive energy. If it’s a No, then I play with the words in the affirmation to find the best alternative. “I deserve to be financially free” was an affirmation recommended to me at one time. It didn’t feel right. After doing the Sway Test, I discovered that the word ‘deserve’ weakened my system. After playing with the words, “I am worthy of financial freedom” swayed Yes. This affirmation empowered me. This is also very useful when creating a goal or intention statement.
3. Selecting the best exercise There are times when working on a goal, I know that an exercise or physical activity is required. I can quickly go through the list of options using the Sway Test to find the best ones to do. I can either use pictures or the name of the exercise. With my goal in mind, and using the statement, ‘this exercise is required,’ I look at a picture of an exercise, and wait for the sway. If it is a Yes, then I do it. If it’s a No, then I go to the next picture. It is the same procedure if I simply think of the exercise. Play with the Sway Test to connect with your own inner wisdom!
The Energy Entering Your Home (Front Hall/Foyer) By: Anja Lavigne Close your eyes and imagine you are standing across the street from your home. Now you are walking towards your front door. As you do, what do you see all around? With your keys you unlock the door and are now in your foyer.
Make some mental notes on how that felt. It is a busy world out there with all the hustle and bustle. The outside world is becoming more and more overwhelming. Walking into your home is your first connection with your space. How have you been greeted? Do you feel welcomed? Are you conscious when you walk into your home? Is there agitation? Our first impression is an example of how we view ourselves and our self worth.
As we walk inside, our mind, eyes, and body make a connection. Coming home to a place of sanctuary and retreat is something we all strive for, however, it is only us that can make that change and be present to what we need and what we don’t need. It is important to consider what serves us in gratitude, love, money, spirituality, and health. If there are things that don’t serve us in those ways, why do we have them? The front of your home is how you approach your life. It is very important to be mindful that hallways are clear and there are no obstructions. Examples would be having the recycling bins placed there, or an abundance of shoes that one is tripping over.
When this space does not have a clear path the Chi (energy) can not flow. What could be happening is that we may be struggling with an obstacle in our current life. One may not be conscious of this, however, the unconscious mind knows it can’t walk through without interruption and is then disturbed, which then triggers the mind that it is hard to overcome that situation. When this area is clean, fresh, and organized, it brings in opportunities and also follows suit for the other rooms to take the same action.
Beginning with Curb Appeal: Now that Spring is around the corner, make a plan to freshen up the outside curb appeal. The house exterior is the first critical key in drawing in the beauty of your home.
Tips: Have an attractive house number sign and mailbox. Enhance your landscape by adding wood-chips, garden urns, a pop of colour. Trim any shrubs and trees that block windows and frontage. Power wash siding and walkways. Reseed or add fresh sod. Wash windows inside and outside. Repaint or stain the porch floor as needed. Wash the front door and outdoor light fixtures, removing grime and dirt. Do a weekly sweep of your porch and front walkway to remove dirt and unwanted energy. This also helps you open up for new possibilities. Fix any other outdoor repairs. Make sure your front door can fully open and there are no obstructions.
Your Foyer: When walking into your Sanctuary, how are you being greeted?
Tips: A front entrance console table with fresh flowers or a plant is always so welcoming . Increase the High Vibe with Crystals : Black Tourmaline: protection, positivity, happiness, grounding, luck Jade: welcome in wealth, good luck, courage, and balance Moonstone: happy home, wisdom, creativity When receiving the daily mail: once in hand, immediately divide into sections such as, junk, bills, invitations, etc. Then, put them in their corresponding spaces. Junk goes right to recycling, bills to your office or filing cabinets, and takeout menus go to the kitchen. Coats and Shoes: Coats need to go to their home in the closet. Shoes should either have shoe shelves, or a closet as well. You can also use coat hooks if you do not have closet space. Shoes left at the front door can look overwhelming, especially when there are a number of shoes around. Just cleaning and clearing our front entryway a couple of times a week gives the feeling of clarity. Always have a clear path and no obstructions. Dust and wipe down the cobwebs around the ceiling, doorway, and baseboards. Make sure all light bulbs are working and your light-fixtures are clean and dust free.
Virgo Full Moon By: Savita Moon Child
The Virgo full moon, the most practical of moons, will ask us to look at the here and now, to stay in the present, to make a change. It will also highlight where we are being self-critical and a need to take a health check to see where we can introduce new habits that will contribute to our own well-being. Virgo is ruled by the planet Mercury, which is currently in retrograde, where worry and self-criticism can come to the fore. This energy of wanting things to be perfect can bring somewhat frustration as well as the acknowledgement of where we would like our lives to be. It is a time to accept that whatever is going on in our life is all for a reason and is perfect exactly where it stands in this moment. Virgo will literally bring you back down to Earth, back to life, and back to reality.
The sun moving into Pisces calls us to a more idea orientated four weeks, getting in touch with our intuition. It is in this present moment that the Virgo Full Moon gives us the perfect opportunity to check in with ourselves. The sign of the healer and virgin goddess will guide us into deep inner healing, where we will be thrusted into creating a whole new set of ideas,
beliefs, and reality for ourselves. We are one
step closer to a thought or belief in changing our entire lives. This Virgo moon will also help us to culminate our deepest intuition, finding that part of ourselves where we fully trust and believe. Virgo aligns us with the abundance of nature, connecting us back to the ancient wisdoms of Earth, where we are more inclined to investigate natural, herbal, and organic remedies. Virgo is a very health conscious sign, so eating better, dieting, and exercising will be our main priority. They are also work and service oriented, helping others who may be unwell, and having the desire to do what they can in community service, focusing on a task at hand.
Currently the sun is in the sign of Pisces, opposing Virgo, which shifts us into a more mutable and flexible energy. This is a perfect combination, as Pisces will help us to create endings, giving us the ability to dream and visualize our future. It guides us towards a feeling to release whatever does not feel right and whatever we have been resisting, making it a time to persist. Virgo will put the practical plans in place and make them happen. The moon in Virgo is very much about precision and order, sorting and synchronicity, and allowing the Universe to assist us in getting things done. Use the Virgo moon to balance the dreamier energy. With all our new findings and healing, we will be able to make a change and put action into place. By staying in the present, we can make a clear action plan to obtain our desired path. The Virgo moon will usher in fresh, new inspiration and a detailed plan of a grounding and new beginning.
How to use the Virgo Moon
1. With a fine-tooth comb, examine where are we at in our lives? What changes can we make? What things can we put in order and prioritize to make solid and tangible plans for the future?
2. When overthinking comes into play, take time to notice what the narrative is and where it stems from. Note all our worries and negative thinking down and work on releasing them under the full moon.
3. When checking in with our health and well-being, do we understand natural herbs and remedies and natural ways of healing? How can we inject them into our daily routines for healing and/or different ways of cleansing the mind, body, and soul?
4. By staying in the present moment and getting practical, ask ourselves, what can we do to change our situations and circumstances in our lives? How can we put our plans into action?
Affirmations for the Virgo Full Moon
1. I examine my present moment and carry my plans through to accomplish my goals.
2. I release what no longer serves my highest good and welcome ways to live more simply.
3. I find power through routine, where practicality serves my highest good and the highest good of my loved ones.
4. I analyze and choose wisely what I put into my body, mind, and soul.
5. I am grounded in goodness and create my own opportunities with ease.
Crystals for the Virgo Moon
1. Fluorite is great for creating an action plan, an excellent learning aid as it increases our powers of concentration, self-confidence, and making decisions. Perfect for balancing the energies.
2. Peridot connects us to nature and promotes a positive mindset by opening our hearts to joy and releasing negative thought patterns.
3. Howlite can link us to a higher spiritual consciousness, using the Third Eye and Crown chakra whilst meditating. It opens and prepares the mind to receive the energies and wisdom of attunement.
Wanted: Strong FatherFigures. Apply Within By Chris Lee Note: Use of the term “father” in this article represents biological fathers or whomever was a father-figure to the reader.
When I was a kid, my father was a stable and caring presence in my life. He was a provider, protector, and teacher. I wanted to imitate and emulate him. My father worked a corporate, middle-management office job.
I used to imagine myself dressing up in double-breasted pinstripe suits with gold cufflinks and shiny burgundy wingtip shoes with a matching burgundy briefcase in my hand, and the daily newspaper under my arm. In addition to my father, I had many other father figures in my life. My grandfathers, uncles, and family friends. Some were a more positive influence than others. Regardless, I learned from all of them. The most fascinating thing about the relationship between fathers and their children is how the teaching takes place. When you go to school and you sit in the classroom and the teacher stands up at the front of the room and teaches a lesson, you learn a little bit. However, the most effective teaching takes place by the example that fathers provide. Real teaching occurs when fathers teach their children by the words that they say and the way that they carry themselves. That is the true definition of the term “role model.”
For instance, hearing my grandfather say, “When you grow up and get a wife and kids, you have to provide for them,” was good to hear. However, seeing him get up every day at 4:30am, rain or shine, and earn a living as a truck driver made a strong impression on me about the importance of hard-word and taking care of a family.
By nature kids are always watching what we do. Their young minds are looking for guidance and direction. So when it comes to eating, we teach our kids about eating because they watch what we eat. We teach our children coping skills when they watch how we handle adversity or setbacks.
With mothers there is almost always an abundance of love. With dads things are inherently more complicated. My father, like most men, was not very good at expressing love. Defining moments in our relationship, both as a child and as an adult, were the
times when he showed how much he cared about me with his actions. As a father, my proudest moments were times when I got to display my devotion to my children.
The fundamental building blocks of your mindset came from the people that you spent the most time with, likely your mom and dad. An important part of your mindset has to do with your self-talk. The conversations that you have with yourself in your head are modeled after the conversations that you had with your father.
Did your father talk down to you? Did your dad encourage you? Did he pump you up?
When you
came into the house with your head hung low, did your father gently push your chin up and make eye contact with you and give you some encouraging words like “keep your head up,” “you can do it,” or “keep trying”?
Our children’s belief systems - how to treat people, concepts of right and wrong, even their concept of God, is heavily influenced by our words and actions. The lens through which children see the world is a lens lent to them by their fathers until they develop their own. For better or worse, good or bad, right or wrong.
This is how we inadvertently teach things
that we shouldn't. We don't always notice it. Our life experience shades the way that we deal with everyone we encounter, including our children. How do we teach kids the right stuff, or at the very least keep from teaching them the wrong stuff?
Be Mindful
Life can be stressful. Some people shut down when they get stressed out. Some people rant, rave, yell, scream, and cuss. When you get stressed out or angry, be mindful of how you treat your kids, because those interactions matter a lot.
Be Intentional
What are the values that you want to instill in your kids? Keep those values and desires fresh in your mind when offering direction and correction.
Think Long-Term
What kind of adult do you want your son or daughter to grow up to be? An independent thinker, a confident problem solver, or a submissive follower? The way that you interact with your children is going to be their baseline for what they consider normal behaviour to be.
When you talk to your children, the words that you say don’t just go into their ears. Those words go into their hearts. Speak love into your children with your words and actions. Remember that you are influencing the next generation or two.

help reduce stress by Premadasa Gangadeen
By the time that Yoga entered it’s most recent renaissance in the mid-late 90s, the word ‘stress’ had become both a widely known and widely overused term. It was indeed a sad fact that we have introduced a great many stressors to our daily lives in comparison to the

lifestyles of the generations preceding ours. Enter Yoga, a seemingly mysterious and esoteric practice that made us look and feel good in our bodies which then opened the pathway to discovering our minds and then on to the subtler realms of the intellect and spirit. Perceived credible research on Yoga was limited and though we couldn’t exactly explain why we felt good when practicing Yoga, we didn’t seem to care as we calmly accepted the buzz and heightened awareness that the practice delivered as a by-product, both naturally and in an accessible way. When we align with the practice/philosophy of Yoga, stress becomes more of a process of awareness for greater growth and less something that is too intense to deal with in life. Without stress, life would not be as it is. Consider a tree which relies on its trunk as a channel of sunlight and water energy to nourish itself to perpetuate its existence. For the trunk to perform its duty, it must be strong in order to resist the stress placed on it by the wind and other elements. This resistance comes about when the entire tree from the tip of its

The couple hiring were a doctor and a business woman. They had a beautiful lake front property on the other side of my sister’s town, which on a heavy day of traffic would be a fifteen minute drive. Their home was beautiful, their son a young 2 month old, which was perfect after I had been nannying for my active toddler nephew and two preschool boys prior to that. I remember thinking to myself how odd it was that I never picked up that particular newspaper before, that this job from two hours out of town was advertised in it, that the job was perfect and paid well, and most of all, would allow me to be close to my boyfriend. Something inside me knew it was more than lucky.
That began a series of “lucky” moments in my life as I used that experience to focus on what I did want and began to have faith in “unseen forces” bringing it to me. People would always say to me, you’re so lucky. I almost found it offensive, as I knew that there was more than luck involved here. Once I began to learn about the Law of Attraction, I recognized that I was deliberately creating my experiences. So what about all the “lucky” people who are not aware of the Law of Attraction? People who are “lucky” have little resistance to their desires. They are not riddled with subconscious messages that good things never happen to them. They are unattached to an outcome and look more towards the possibility of having “good

Intuitive Goddess Priya March 2021 Reading Card: The World As we have just come out of Mercury Retrograde and find ourselves in the post retrograde shadow, which continues until March 13th, we are left with about two months until we hit pre-retrograde shadow again on May 14th. The World Card comes from the Guides to bring our awareness to what appears to be a consistently ever changing world. The Guides are showing this as a deliberate move from the hierarchy. Most of us have been thrust out of life as we know since the beginning of 2020. The Guides show that for far too long, many of us have been living on auto-pilot, repeating cycles and getting further and further away from alignment with our true selves. The ongoing shifting comes as an opportunity to learn how to thrive under any and all conditions. It is a chance for us to reset, try again, reset, try again, and repeat. Light is being shed upon many issues globally, giving us room for growth, to evolve, and implement change to make an ongoing difference. The Guides wish to reassure you that they are always here to Guide you and support you. They encourage you to remain open and aware to receive their guidance.
For some of you the message is to consider expanding your horizons, your ways of living and being. The world is evolving and it can be very beneficial for you to grow as well. For some of you, the message is to lean closer into a mindset of endless possibilities. It is an ideal time to allow Universal energies to assist you with some of your unknown factors during this time of creation.

Sandalwood Sandalwood is amazing for meditation and prayer, just like Frankincense. It has been used since ancient times for spiritual practices and enhanced meditation. It provides a sense of calm, inner peace and grounding.
Vetiver These essential oils come from roots deep in the earth that ground our body and mind. When used for sleeping it can bring on vivid dreams from the subconscious mind. It allows thoughts to be freed and mind chatter to be released.
