Dog infected with rabies found in Gianyar Tenth of dogs eliminated Gianyar (Bali Post)-

A dog had been tested positively suffered from rabies in Gianyar. The test was conducted on the dogs which were suspected to suffer from the disease. The government acted promptly and eliminated tenth of dogs in the area.

Dewa Gede Putra Amerta, the head of Gianyar Animal Department, said that the infected dog was found in Blahbatuh district in Gianyar. The case was found on Friday, October 30th 2009 and it already being handled by the department. Approximately, 30 dogs were eliminated in the area where the positive rabies case was found. The dog which was positive from suffering rabies owned by IB Mahardika and was brought from Tabanan. There is great possibility that the dog was infected in Tabanan While in Sukawati, three people were bitten by dogs. The victims were Mrs. Reki, Santo, and Rumi had been rushed to the hospital. The dogs bite them also had been captured and currently being examined in the lab.

Denpasar - Some 18 monkey handlers have been recruited to prevent monkeys in the “Monkey Forest” in Ubud, Gianyar district, Bali, from interfering in the shooting of certain episodes of the “Eat, Pray, Love” film starring Julia Roberts. “We don’t have any confirma-
