Hundreds of taxi drivers demonstrated around the Dewa Ruci roundabout, Kuta, last Monday (Dec 14). They expressed their demand to government in order it behaved fair in issuing the permits on the provision of taxi in Bali. Actually, the number of taxi in Bali was judged overcapacity. In addition, those drivers of five taxi companies also urged to cancel the plan of increasing the number of new taxi vehicle amounting to 1,500. Those drivers committing demonstration last Monday were from Komotra, Ngurah Rai Taxi, Wahana, Kowindu and Bali Taksi. Taxi driver of Blue Bird did not join the demonstration. Those demonstrators once give oration in front of Mal Bali Galleria by organizing free forum, voiced their aspiration regarding to the problem caused by government’s policy in the provision of taxi permit. To be known, the details of taxi vehicle that are under operation consisted of Komotra having 400 vehicles, Ngurah Rai (1,000), Wahana (200), Kowindu (250) and Bali Taxi (200). Meanwhile, the Blue Bird taxi putting into question, currently has 750 units. According to information, it was schedule to
add 1,500 permits of new taxi to the current number of 750 vehicles. This condition triggered the disappointment of the drivers. Representative of demonstrator, Nengah Suardiana accompanied by Surya said that government ideally took back the strategic policy in the provision of taxi in Bali. According to Suardiana, the number of current taxi has exceeded the upper limit. Even, its distribution was considered imbalance. “Within the current condition, we are the driver has lost of the space for bread and butter. Our income dropped drastically due to government policy. Committee Should Be Responsible Semarapura (Bali Post)—
Committee of Candidate of Civil Servant (CPNS) Entry was asked to be responsible for the complicated announcement of the CPNS passing. Other than delayed from original schedule, the CPNS announcement also left a problem concerning with the different formation between the quota and passed participants. This matter should be accounted by the committee by giving clarification to public, particularly the applicants. Anyhow, the delay of announcement until complication of formation resulted in negative indication on the recruitment process. That matter was delivered by academician from Klungkung, Tjok Bagus Oka, last Monday (Dec 14). Distinction on the formation of quota announcement and passing announcement denoted a public falsehood that should be accounted morally and legally. Ideally, committee (Klungkung Government) should be consistent with what it has announced to public, including the formation of CPNS. “It could not be converted as it was,” he said. He also put into question the cooperation system of Klungkung Government and University of Indonesia (UI) whether it was cooperation between regency government and UI institutionally or personal cooperation by recruiting the official of UI.
