But in Texas, when the cause is just, nothing is over until only one side is left standing. This case is no different. As the clock struck twelve midnight, the vote to settle this question was declared after review to be invalid. But as in war, victory is won only after several battles are fought. This first confrontation, this first battle, served only as an indicator of things to come. The dawn of a new day found the Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, issuing new orders to the State Legislators to meet again on the battlefield of the Capitol by calling for a second session. As both sides convened once again, both the House and Senate immediately called for a recess until the 9th of July, which should give each side ample time to prepare their battle plans.
