Chilled Casual “I like my style to be simple. Comfort is the most important aspect I look for in fashion and I believe if you like what you are wearing then you definitely feel confident and look good.” Mohit Nainani

Classic Corporate “Being a lover of shirts, I like my style to be more of formal and crisp. I keep the new trends in mind, I like beige or forn colored pants rather than the same routine black or blues and pair them with light colored shirts. ” Krishna Agarwal 20 DECEMBER, JULY, 2013 2013

Formal Fun “My style is more of laid back and casual, but I don’t fall back when the occasion calls for it to dress best. My closet consists more of leather jackets, rugged loafers, smart pair of shades much more to add on. Maxi Love “Being a total fashionista I follow the latest trends very firmly; my style is more of Classic and Modern. Blending my outfit with accessories, scarf or a nice bag is one thing I never forget. Chunky neck pieces, gold accessories teamed with a watch is something which I really love. I have sported a red maxi and as it’s completely plain I have accessorized it well with these golden chunky bracelets and trendy tote. Fashion to me is following all the trends and standing out in the crowd.” Poornima Soni

Floral Fling “I like keeping my style more of simple and subtle as I believe if it’s less it’s classier. Minimal accessories and pleasant colors is something I really admire. Floral prints, girly dresses and pinks are my kind of style statement. Along with the latest trends, comfort also plays a key role in deciding my attire. To me fashion is being comfortable in our skin. In this attire I have opted for a pleasant floral belted dress with tangy bowed shoes and a transparent sling.” Sheena Kaur

Printed Passion “My style is more of bold and experimental, I love trying out new things that are in vogue. I believe a style statement is made when you initiate something on your own and people start to follow you that are when things come into fashion. As I blog about fashion, I keep an eye on the new trending attires around. Right now I am totally in love with the cropped tops and the bold prints as I chose minimum accessories due to the attractive printed pants.” Outfit courtesy : ‘F’ (Sindhi Colony) Ishna Rawlani DECEMBER, 2013 21

A Day From

Payal Agarwal’s

Diary

Payal Agarwal, is confident, meticulous and has a optimistic attitude towards life. She loves to adapt and grow with each passing time. Exploring and learning new things is part of what she is as an individual. Appreciating and observing beauty around her is what motivates her to move ahead in life and grows her as a person.

“Professionally I am confident of my results and I expect that the results I produce, if good, should be appreciated. I will leave no stone unturned until I come out with the best.” I believe in myself and I think a person should work hard and not depend on others for happiness. I set goals for myself and feel happy once I attain. I have learnt the art of praising myself which boosts my confidence but at the same time I know how to be grounded and warm to people around me. Open communications at both professional and personal front is what I credit my success and happiness to, though I have a long way ahead, this is something that helps me solve any issue or situation around me, because there can be nothing better than talking about how you feel with the concerned person. Lack of professionalism is something that turns me off, because I take my work seriously and give it my best. Morning: I am a morning person, since childhood I wake up at 5 am to greet the morning positivity and freshness. The first thing I do as soon as I am awake is appreciate the vast sky, there is a sense of calmness in doing so. I spend half an hour on my daily yoga session, followed by updating myself with latest news online. Have a shower and meditate for some time. I love going on drives early in the morning, no traffic, calm and 22 DECEMBER, 2013

pollution free weather is refreshing. My breakfast is usually of some milk and oats or idly. Afternoon : My workshop starts around 11, first thing I do is plan my schedule for the day, allot work to my workers depending on orders in hand. The day continues with client calls discussing about their dress, few clients drop in to meet me and give orders for their stuff, it’s good to meet new people and interact with them, know their idea of style and

dinner around 9 PM. Post dinner it depends on the mood, sometimes we stay back at home, or we head out to some coffee joint, movie, or restaurant. Family and Friends: It’s been a year and a half that I am married now. I find a friend in my husband more than he being my spouse. He has been a supportive head to me since the beginning be it personal or professional life. Support and courage is what he has been giving me all the time since I have started my career. Moving on to friends, I feel they are my stress busters. I generally hang out for a coffee with friends once or twice in a week, or catch up for a movie or go partying.

giving them feedback. Sometimes I am on the run, as I personally like to go and get the fabrics required for the dresses. My profession demands a lot of creativity and hard work. Going through fashion magazines is a part of my daily routine. Sometimes I feel short of time to excavate new ideas which comes handy to stay ahead of the competition in my profession. However, it’s my clients’ loyalty towards my work which makes them come back for more. Lunch happens whenever there is a gap in between around 3 pm. Your work: I, as a director of PAYAL AGARWAL designs believe the fact that “what you carry, is fashion, not what you copy.” I have set the brand just year ago, I believe that “God has created us all unique, so lets dress ourselves the way we want, let us be fashion, not copy fashion.” For me ,fashion is not only creating outfits for clientele, but embedding and implementing your thoughts in anything that comes your way. Fashion is a comfort level, an ease. YOU are confident, YOU become a trendsetter, and YOU create fashion!!!! My signature style lies in fusion of bold colors in silhouettes and giving a stylish cut to each outfit. I firmly believe that a perfect fit of any outfit makes the wearer much more confident to carry it. I aim to transmute fashion still holding Indian culture in hand embroidery, zardosi and aari work. Dinner: My work shop closes around 7 PM. First thing I do is have a bath, relax, do my regular pooja followed by meditation. Once my husband arrives we chat and discuss about our business activities and our day. We land for

I believe in being growth oriented. No growth in a day- is a day wasted. So whatever I do either personal or professional, I make sure that it brings growth in me. Even if it is as simple as learning a new word from a dictionary which came across me while reading a book- I call it growth. I am passionate about being perfect. What are other things that you are involved in? I am associated with Akriti Foundation, it’s a Non-Profit Government Organization which is into Women Empowerment Programme and as a part of it I help less privileged women in learning the designing of garments and thereby helping them in their livelihood. Apart from that I am the leading designer of the portal ‘Cutsnthreads’ for whom I design clothes.

“As far as my aim is concerned...I aim at salvation” Payal Agarwal - The Designer Studio At Begumpet by prior appointment only. Ph: 8008650086, www.payalagarwal.com www.facebook.com/payalagarwaldesigns

Tat too no more a Taboo!! “People are proud of their tattoos. It’s like a modern coat of arms.” Christian Louboutin

Tattooing is an art… a permanent form of art that stays with you through your life. Some people get inked to show their love for someone or something, while some just out of passion and love for creativity. Some also believe the words or symbols they get inked give them constant power, support in times of need. One way or other it’s a fast catching up trend and positively accepted by everyone in society as well. Satpreet Kaur interacts with the best of tattoo artists in city, who explain all about the process of getting inked and more.

PINKU BIJOY GHOSH 1) How long have you been in this line of art of tattooing? My journey began in the year 2008, where I got myself an apprenticeship with a renowned tattoo artist named KEVIN ANDRADE in Mumbai at his tattoo studio and have been tattooing since then. I have my own tattoo studio INKKRAFT TATTOOS, after successful 5 years in this line of tattooing. 2) What got you interested in this line of business? I saw a tattoo on one of my friend and that was when I got introduced to the whole concept of tattoo. I wanted to have one on me too, and got my first tattoo from Kevin and under whom I later learnt a lot. It was a lifetime experience, and it was at that very moment, I knew, I had to learn it. I

have always been associated with art in some way or other for which I got a lot of recognition and have been awarded many times in my school and college. What really interested me about tattooing is how people want your art work permanently inked on them and cherish it all their lives by making an artist a part of something so important and intimate. Also a fact that somebody wants to carry my art and live forever with it is quite motivating. 3) What would you say is your favorite part of the job? My favorite part of the job is to never feel like you are at work. There’s always a new experience, everyday I get to meet so many people with different ideas and then I give my expertise and creative thoughts. As a result comes a unique tattoo design which is appreciated for the rest of their lives, the whole process is very fulfilling to me. 4) What is the greatest myth about getting a tattoo done? The greatest myth is that people think it’s not safe and you might get infected, well I would like to clear things out here, ‘if a tattoo is done in a Tattoo has a different meaning for every person. To me a tattoo is something that stays with you forever. It’s a sign of permanence and stability in a volatile world. A tattoo should be something that reminds you of a passion or a belief, something that inspires you and gives you hope during tough times. It should be meaningful and not something that you regret about in future. I am an ardent devotee of Mahadev Shiv and so I have a tattoo of his trishul symbolizing his will, action and knowledge. Tattoo is still considered to be a taboo in many places but I believe that if you want to, then have a real good reason for it and not just out of boredom or to make a fashion statement. Many people regret getting tattoos done especially those who get the name of their girlfriend or boyfriend because people change and those who rush into getting their lovers name inked regret it if things don’t work out in future. So to those who want to get a tattoo done think before you ink. Janvhi Mishra, Student, St. Francis Degree College

People also believe that tattoo artists or people with tattoos are either drug addicts or freaks, well it is not true. 5) Who are the famous artists or tattooists that have influenced you down the path of your career? There are many names not just one, but I would like to mention few names I draw inspiration from like Kevin Andrade, Sameer Patange, Victor Portugal and last but not least Shige. I would like to take the opportunity to thank all my peers who have helped me in whatever I have achieved today. 6) How do you think people in India react to this form of permanent art, seeing there are people who still don’t accept it. There are certain people in the society who don’t approve tattoos and still consider it to be taboo. To all of them it’s an art by which you express

yourself and represent you and your virtues in what you believe. I feel tattoo is a highly private affair and it should not be any other people’s business. Well a lot has changed, tattoos are openly accepted among all class and caste these days. 7) Need to know before getting a tattoo: Be very sure of the design you are getting, consult it with a professional tattoo artist. Pay a visit to the tattoo studio check the surroundings of the studio whether it’s clean or not. Check the tubes if they are fresh, whether the studio has an autoclave, it is must that the tattoo artist should have all his tubes autoclaved. Check out his recent work with utmost importance. Lastly, don’t be under the influence of alcohol or any other drugs while you are getting tattooed. 8) Where can we find you? JOY SEN 1) How long have you been in this line of art of tattooing? I have been in this line from past 6 years, enjoying, learning and experiencing each bit of it. 2) What got you interested in this line of business? From my childhood, I was very interested in painting and sketching, I liked to experiment with colors and shading work. Similarly this field has given me a lot of freedom to explore my creativity and most important is that I enjoy what I do. The fact that this line helps me to be connected to my creativity is what inclined me towards it in the first place. 3) What would you say is your favorite part of the job? Making people happy. I make their dream tattoo come true for them. 4) What is the greatest myth about getting a tattoo done? Some people have a very bad opinion about tattoos. They think tattoos are not good for health and skin and it is a western culture and some people think, people with tattoos are seen less reliable and not serious for their work. But none of it is true. 5) Who are the famous artists or tattooists that have influenced you down the path of your career? Mr Sameer Patange, Kat Von D , Amy James and Anil Gupta, they are all my role models. 6) How do you think people in India react to this form of permanent art, seeing there are people who still don’t accept it? I think the mind set has changed and a lot of people are taking tattoos in a positive way. I have a lot of clients from government and private sector too. In my client list, I have people from all fields and sectors, like doctors, teachers and house wives. Now a day’s doctors also recommend tattoos for some skin problem like vitiligo and people are much 30 NOVEMBER, DECEMBER, 2013 2013

“Different people have different ideologies to get inked, I have an “Om” on my left inner forearm for a reason that it is the most powerful word in the universe. It reminds me of being obliged to the power of “Om’’. I also have a tattoo “Love. Peace. Respect” inked on my right forearm, as tattoos for me is nothing less than an addiction. Once you get a tattoo done, you are bound to get attracted to thoughts of getting more. A person should know how to stop this addiction, and not always follow his thoughts about getting as many as comes in his mind. I believe that a person should get inked because it reminds him of something constantly, about anything he loves or is yet to achieve.” Mihir Chadha, Professional Racer. educated about the whole concept of tattooing. 7) Need to know before getting a tattoo: The most important thing you can do before getting tattoo is taking the time to find the right artist. Many people just decide on a whim that they want to get a tattoo and enter the nearest studio without thinking much about what they are doing. Some get lucky with a good tattoo and some don’t. Make sure that you get a tattoo you are going to be proud of. Choose a clean, hygienic studio/ parlor, check for new needles and fresh ink. It is also important to pay close attention to your post tattoo care. 8) And where can we find you? Pernia Qureshi, Stylist

A fashion stylist and costume designer by profession, Pernia worked as an assistant stylist in New York for Ann Caruso, a contributing editor at Harper’s Bazaar. She continued on her fashion journey by doing some freelance work with Conde Nast in New York, before moving back to New Delhi in 2008. Pernia then moved on to working independently with India’s foremost fashion designers such as JJ Valaya and Tarun Tahiliani - on their campaigns, look books, and fashion shows. Pernia stepped into the role of costume designer in 2010, when she styled for the film, Aisha and received rave reviews for her fresh take on fashion styling. She is the woman who is largely responsible for the diva looks of Sonam Kapoor. .” From her book be stylish everyone is set to grab a piece of fashion advice, she adds ‘Be Stylish’ is a fun, easy read to help you be the very best version of your already fabulous self,” We get her to share on some of the exclusive tips exclusively for our readers. “I am a true fan of shape-wear, and as a stylist I have borne witness to its transformative capacities on womens’ bodies. The paneled elastic smoothens the middle, evening out the contours and keeping everything tucked in, creating an unachievable sleek physique. For a night out, opt for ultra-strong shape-wear which will smoothen your wobbly parts in all the right places. I feel one looks fitter if they dress according to their body type, like if you are apple-shaped: opt for tops with ruching, a wraparound cut, and made from reasonably structured material which will stay in place. Or if you are pear-shaped, strapless prom dresses would look the most beautiful. There are few other tricks to create an illusion of a leaner, slimmer body like wearing nude heels. The heels help lengthen the leg, this stems from its chameleon qualities of blending into the skin of your foot and calf. It slims your legs, narrows your ankles, and makes you walk like a supermodel.”

Priyanka Chigurupati, Fashion Designer This year fashion has been more about detailing and less about in your face bling, so keeping that tradition going. I would rather wear something with a unique cut or detailing than a heavily embellished outfit. Dressing for New Year’s Eve is about drama so even if your outfit is a bit minimalistic, you can always style it dramatically with statement earrings or a unique hairstyle. Since Grunge, Punk and androgyny were all in this year, you could probably wear a fabulous pair of leather shorts or ankle pants under a tunic coat with fabulous detailing and style it with statement earrings and sky high shoes. If you’re more of a “New Years = Bling,” person, think outside the box this year. Push the basic neutral sequins away and pick out a bright color like blue. A blue sequin vest worn with black palazzos / an LBD or even with a maxi skirt is a real head turner yet very effortless. Varonica And Paul

Redefining the world of fashion in the city of nawabs through their work s they rightly say “birds of the same feather flock together”, it’s their eye for high fashion, glamour, beauty and style, that got fashion duo, Varonica and Paul together. Just one year in the industry and they have already set a benchmark for many in the glamour world. “It all happened over a cup of coffee at a coffee shop, we decided to team up to work on some concept which was high fashion and international. We blocked our calendars for a weekend for the shoot and there goes the final output which was well appreciated and it created a rave. From there on, there was no looking back to our work and bonding” says Paul when we asked him about his journey of fashion with Varonica. “It is our keen interest and respect for high fashion that blends us really well. Additionally, we respect each other’s ideas and ways of working which helped us ease our work. I must say it is a perfect wave length that resulted in a strong and long-term professional relationship. The results of the shoots were as desired and from there on, Paul has become an integral part for most of my work,” says Varonica.

As the time passed, they worked for some prestigious fashion labels, designers, celebrities, actors, super models and events. They worked with various celebrities like Madhurima Banerjee, Dipti Sati, Sharon Fernandes and many more. Apart from some well known models and socialites from the city. They take it as a pride when the models they worked with, have made it to Vogue, print media, national television 44 DECEMBER, 2013

ads and film industry. Both excel in their sense of styling the subject which adds to the final output of their work.”I am always thankful to Varonica for various opportunities she provided to me to work with her. From the renowned India Fashion Street to Celebrity shows, we worked together. She always supported my ideas and thoughts. Her respect for my work and understanding of my dual work with a corporate and her motivating attitude increased my bond with her. As a matter of fact, she considers me as family. This year’s Rakshabandan was a moment to cherish in these 26 years of my life. I don’t have any siblings, she considered me her brother and tied a rakhi on that day. The moment was emotional and pure. Thus, made me connect with her further personally and professionally,” says Paul. They would soon be working in collaboration with a few renowned designers from Goa and Jaipur. They want to make it national in few months.

WELLBEING

Spoiling yourself

SPA-STYLE

Your body is the biggest beauty canvas you have. So treat it right! Weather you have been to a spa or only dream of going to one, you can only imagine how blissful you’d feel and how beautiful you’d look if you could regularly indulge in the treatments. Spas use special tricks and ingredients to relax your body (and mind) and make your skin glow. Satpreet Kaur shares her experience at the best spa’s in the city.

Marma spa

If you want to feel refreshed and beat out all the stress from your work, home and life then book yourself for an hour long Marma massage. The moment you step into the spa you look forward for that one hour of calmness. After the personal consultation on what would be best for you, though the Marma Spa treatment is the most liked, as it not only relaxes you but leaves you refreshing and glowing. Method: Firstly you are introduced to your therapist who then leads you to your private spa room. Getting you comfortable on a seat, she washes your feet. The soft music and aroma in the private spa room immediately starts doing their part to keep you calm. The lights get dimmer as the next part begins where you lie down on the mattress on the floor while the expert does her magic on your back with her well trained feet. Yes feet! You can feel the stress leaving your mind, and relaxation bubbles rushing your body. After a brief foot massage on your back you are shifted to the massage bed for the basic massage procedure where in your rest of the massage carries on with special Marma oil, made for this procedure exclusively and naturally. After a brief oil massage a scrub of sesame is followed all over your body and then you are wrapped up with the absorption cloth to retain all the goodness of oil and scrub. Up next follows the head massage that will shut all your sense and send you in trance, there will be nothing in this world that matters. After that you are sent for a nice 10 to 15 minutes of steam followed by a shower. If that hasn’t got you a perfect climax yet, then the specially designed relaxation area served with herbal green tea will give you a sense of perfect bliss. Serena Spa Radisson Blu, Road number 6, Green valley, Banjara hills. Ph: 67331133

Swedish massage

Aura spa is an inspiration from spas in Thailand. With its main office based in Thailand, all its experts are well equipped and trained to treat you with the best. The spa is full of serenity, Buddha statutes and paintings, getting you into an ambience of calmness. Method: Each body treatment begins with a private consultation, followed by a sensory journey of essential oils. Their goal is to learn of your specific needs & to fulfill those needs during your experience at aura. If your massage hasn't influenced the deep tissues of your muscles then it wasn't worth it. The Swedish massage at aura by the expert is awesome. Their special focus is on a much deserved tired and sloppy back. The oil which is used is a mix of orange and olive oil. It is an hour long massage which leaves you jubilant and happy. We bet all your tiredness and pain will be vanished. Each muscle and tissue in your body, especially your feet and back will be relieved and ready to take on the next dose of stress until you are back to have more of this massage. COVER STORY

Glitterati By Heart! Aakanksha Agarwal, a jewellery designer by profession is more than what she looks. She is a woman who perfectly balances her career, family and enjoys every bit of her life with a good social life too. She is fun loving, full of life and motivated to excel in everything she does. She is a woman of high self esteem with big dreams but knows how to find happiness in little things of life. How did you happen to become a jewellery designer? Business was in my DNA as my father’s side is in stock market trading, and when I got married it became a part of my destiny as my husband runs his own industry and encouraged me full throttle to start on my own. We both agreed that if it is to be done then it has to be started whole heartedly with full possible bandwidth of time, money and dedication. I always wanted to do something which was creative, had an element of glamour in it. Tell us about your family? It’s been 17 years of sweet journey of marriage and I have 2 adorable kids. Marriage is getting deeper and smoother with the passage of time. I prefer spending quality time with my husband and kids. I am proud to say that my son topped his school in Grade 12th and is pursuing his further studies in Singapore currently. I take keen interest in my daughter’s school homework and spend uninterrupted time with her daily. My husband and I don’t discuss about each other’s work at home and so most of our conversations are light with a topping of romance on them. In such a busy routine life how do you manage to balance between your family, social life and professional life? I believe in Early to bed and Early to rise. I regularly attend my yoga class that gives me the energy to be charged up for the day ahead. Since my studio is located in my house it allows me to keep an apt balance between business and family. The time I save travelling is spent on my daily household work. I set priorities and stick to my TO DO list for the day. I aspire and ensure to do complete justice to all social commitments, family time and work schedule. Where do you see yourself in next 5 years? A happy mother and loving wife. 5 years down the line I would like to be someone who can inspire all the talented women to follow their dreams, stand up and give their carreer a shot. On professional front I would like to be more established as a successful entrepreneur across the country.

What is fashion to you? Fashion to me is an opportunity to pamper yourself. I express the internal beauty through what I wear, from clothes to jewellery . Fashion to me reflects the colors one likes, and attitude one wants to carry. It’s a form of art and imagination expressed over fabric and attire. What do you do to relax when you are not working? I like to socialize. I step out whenever there is a worthwhile reason like a good movie, a family get together or friends. My weakness is shopping and spa and in my free time I look forward to do that. What is the main USP of your jewellery that makes it better from others? It’s a good mix of trust in authenticity, exclusivity in design and ‘bang for the buck’ pricing. The jewellery I sell is personally customized by me and is trendsetting in itself. The “feel special” and “wow factor” of my creations is the Unique Selling Point. How do you maintain yourself as a designer with so much competition around from so many designers? Darwin’s theory very well describes that “Survival of the Fittest “. You have to be new with your offerings and be customer friendly. Aakanksha Jewels & Diamonds : Road No.1, Banjara Hills. Ph : 23378230

“As an individual I am defined by my family, close friends and the work I do. I think a person is, what she wears, and what she says, it tells a great deal about the person. I am more of a family person and happiness to me is when my son scores well in college or when my daughter does well in her badminton lessons.” 48 DECEMBER, NOVEMBER,2013 2013

The White Weddings

Christian weddings are beautiful to witness. The bride, clad in a lovely white gown and the groom waiting at the altar while the guests witness a great communion of souls. Christians around the world celebrate their weddings, incorporating a little bit of customs and traditions of their birth place into the grand ceremonies. We get you more about the white wedding. The Engagement party

It all starts with this, the bride’s parents traditionally host this but even the couple can host it. It is usually a formal dinner, buffet lunch or a cocktail party. The bride and the groom exchange their engagement rings at this time, and promise for a beautiful courtship and life ahead.

Wedding about. The couple’s grandparents are seated first and then the mother of the groom and last the mother of the bride. Once the bride’s mother is in her seat, the men enter with the minister leading the way. As they take their place, the processional of the bridesmaids and matron or maid of honor begins. A ring beater and flower girl progress finally followed by the bride typically escorted by her dad or the closest male member.

Presentation of Bride

The next thing in the order of events is the presentation of the bride. The minister begins

his part by asking the father of the bride something like this: “Who blesses this union by presenting this woman in marriage? The father answers appropriately and “hands off” his daughter to the groom. He may wish to give his daughter a quick kiss and turn to shake hands or hug the groom and takes his seat with the rest of the family.

Sermon, Vows and Rings

The order of the ceremony at this point typically includes the minister saying a few words about the meaning of marriage. After that will be the exchange of the couple’s marriage vows. There are standard wedding vows that many ministers and couples use, but the minister may also encourage the couple to prepare their own personal vows to exchange. Next is the exchange of wedding

Pronouncement of Marriage

As the ceremony reaches the climax, the minister may have some additional scripture readings or romantic readings the couple has chosen. The Lord’s Prayer may be used as a blessing on the marriage. The couple

The Reception

This is a tradition rather than a ritual, which has been adapted by almost all the religions in India. This is basically a party thrown as a celebration of the wedding. Evidently, the reception has an ambience of merriment and wild spree with the guests dancing to the tunes of the band. The ultimate live music

The Attire

bands and repeat their ring vows after the minister’s prompts. Usually the best man and maid of honor are holding the rings until they are needed.

The Food can be enjoyed in the wedding receptions in Goa, where the people are extraordinarily adept at music. The couple cuts the wedding cake and exchanges a mouthful of it. The bride and groom then waltz together on the sober tunes being played. They are later joined by the groom’s parents and then by all the guests. The dance being over, the dinner is served, after which the bride and the groom take their leave from the reception, with the bride being followed by the groom with a bouquet in his hands.

Mantra is pronounced husband and wife, and the minister tells the groom he may kiss his bride. He presents the couple as Mr and Mrs and the guest applaud the happy couple.

Every girl dreams about this Big day & her ‘WHITE DRESS’ with pinned up hair and head covered with a white veil, she feels like a Princess. She says her vows to her Man. She makes her promise quiet and strong. Her maids dressed in uniform, groom’s men in 3 piece and bow ties, singing, lights, people, cake, dance and the smiles only add to her Joy. Walking down the aisle looking into the eyes of her man will be the most incredible feeling ever. The day is filled with a hundred beautiful details. It is her, it is him and God who ordained it and made them one. Milcah Dubbah, Entrepreneur.

Food at weddings is usually a lavish spread. A lot of weddings in India are said to be extravagant and a grand success because of the food served. Thus, Christian weddings can have anything from fruits, chaat, Mexican, Continental, and Chinese. The cake is a must that is cut by the bride and groom at the reception, followed by champagne.

“Dapper suits, white gowns, set up halls and an aisle to walk down.” Cute flower girls and pretty bridesmaids along with the groomsmen and a smart ring bearer are a sight to watch. The serenity of the church adds to the memorable experiences of the wedding. Christian weddings are by far the most surreal set ups. A beautiful ceremony where the bride and groom exchange vows to be with each other forever in good times and bad. These weddings are simple yet very elegant! Joanne Johnson, Student

TRAVEL

Fashion On The

Streets!

Street shopping has been a favorite for a lot of Indians of all ages and no matter where they travel, people often indulge in a bit of street shopping everywhere they go. Street shopping provides you with a variety of options to shop and the chance to bargain till you are satisfied with the price, something that can’t be done while shopping in malls or retails stores. Komal Sirwani brings to you some of the famous street markets from different cities of our country. Chudi Bazaar, Hyderabad Chudi Bazaar in Hyderabad is the oldest street market, which is 250 years old, known for authentic Hyderabadi pearls and bangles. It is also very famous for Charminar diamonds. The bangles available here are very famous and tourists from all over the world come all the way to this part of the city to purchase these bangles. Apart from all the unlimited shopping, people also relish the wide range of delicacies available there. Some of the most famous dishes found there are- Malai jalebi, Tala Hua Ghosth, Faluda and Charminar Junnu. ‘Mushaira’ sessions, take place on Fridays, after the Namaz, which attract many young poets. Also, after all that shopping everyone likes to have a good bite and peace time.

Anjuna Flea Market, Goa Anjuna Flea Market takes place every Wednesday from October throughout the high-season, from around 09:00am to 06:00pm. It was the hippies who brought about the trend of the flea market at Anjuna beach during the late 1960s, and it’s just been getting bigger and better ever since. Even if you’re not interested in buying anything, or don’t have the confidence to haggle, this is still a nice place to spend a few hours seeing some real Goan characters at work. This is the best place to get all your holiday souvenirs, gifts and beach-clothes at once! Most stalls offer more or less the same products, but you can bargain like crazy due to the stiff competition between the stalls and stands. The flea market is a heaven for hardcore shoppers and good bargainers, it has wonderful blends of Tibetan, Kashmiri and Gujarati trinkets and handicrafts, jewellery (silver), European snacks, wooden crafts and carvings, beautiful wall hangings, musical instruments, bed covers, CDs with Goa Trance, artificial ornaments and t-shirts. The list is endless and so is the hustle, bustle, noise and shuffle. 52 DECEMBER, 2013

TRAVEL Sarojini Nagar Market, Delhi Sarojini Nagar is the most famous market in Delhi, and trust us when we say most famous, because everyone from designers to college goers have their most loved stuff from here. Most of the stuff here are the rejects of reputed brands or designer labels, either because of surplus quantity or small manufacturing defects. Shops and stalls, selling all kinds of clothes and fashion accessories, sprawl onto the streets. There’s also a lot of typical thellas of corn, pani puri, Delhi chat to keep you full while you swarm yourself with hours of shopping and walking. Sarojini market is a hot favorite for young shopping freaks who want to indulge in reasonable priced clothes, bags, accessories and not to forget shoes.

Colaba Causeway Market, Mumbai The everyday carnival that is the Colaba Causeway market is a shopping experience like no other in Mumbai. Geared specially for tourists, you will find everything here from bags to accessories, jewellery to footwear. You can also shop for trinkets, artifacts (you even get old world, working gramophones here), and woolen stoles. If you want your name written on a grain of rice, even that’s possible, it’s a market with entertainment. If you need a break from shopping, pop into Leopold’s Cafe or Cafe Mondegar, two very well known Mumbai hangouts.

Street shopping, these two words are every women’s desire. Mumbai and Delhi define the street shopping in India. Mumbai is one stop destination for all you want and it’s “sasta sundar tikau” . Linking road, elco market, Fashion Street and Colaba Street are some of the most famous places for street shopping in Mumbai. Shopping ‘must list’ for these places includes bags, tops, artificial jewellery, jumpsuits, belts, one pieces and shoes. So basically you can shop till you drop! To delight your taste buds you also have this lip smacking food from chaat bandis to enjoy your whole shopping experience! You can go to Linking road for those casual tops, stunning bags , one whole lane is specially designated for chappals. You can go to Elco for electronics , bags , all the imported stuff , you have around 6 stores segmented differently and Colaba street which is all about junk jewellery. Babita Aswani, Student. TRAVEL New Market, Kolkata New Market, also known as Hogg’s Market, is Kolkata’s oldest and most well known market. It’s got over 2,000 stalls and is a bargain hunter’s delight. If you want to buy saris, head to the reconstructed section of the market, which got rebuilt after a fire in 1985. You’ll find plenty to choose from there. In the evenings, street vendors come to sell cheap jewellery and eye catchy bags out the front of the market. It’s a delight to shop in this market. Apart from shopping, a lot of tasty street food is also available here, of which you cannot miss the famous mishti doi.

Commercial Street, Bangalore Commercial Street is a set of lanes and many mini by lanes collectively known as Commercial Street. Bustling with tourists who mainly come here to grab a souvenir or two, these streets are famous for their antique shops and countless souvenir shops that sell popular souvenirs such as Pashmina shawls and carpets. The streets are also filled with sari and salwar kameez stores. The street jewellery sold in these markets is very popular amongst the youth where many college and school goers jam these narrow lanes in order to find that perfect earring or that perfect necklace. Many traditional footwear such as mojaris and joothis are also available here.

Street shopping is something walking with group of friends with a cup of hot corn looking at stalls with beautiful colored clothes, sandals, bangles, accessories and much more. I believe that when you don’t find something good and elegant for yourself at branded stores then trust me you will definitely find them on streets. This is the main reason why I love to shop on streets. Delhi is a place of diverse culture and the streets are the evidence of this. The best destination for street shopping in Delhi is Sarojini nagar. I am fond of this particular place because I usually find all varieties of garments , accessories, bags, footwear of all sizes and designs under one roof at unbeatable prices . If u can bargain then you can walk home with amazing handicrafts, shoes, paintings, hippie clothes like harem pants and much more. Ishita Jain, Working Professional. 54 DECEMBER, 2013

Street shopping for me would be all about finding a large number of stuff that I could mix and match with and wear on different occasions. Having said that I would also like to say street shopping is not only for those who are budget struck. I have personally seen people from upper middle class levels buying stuff from the street retailers. My favorite city to go street shopping is Mumbai and there places like Colaba, linking road, fashion street and lokhandwala are like eye poppers. Also I have personally found a lot of similar stuff in malls here that we shopped from the streets of Mumbai. Poonam Bakshi, Artist Coordinator

I always make sure that I spend enough time with my family as it’s my strength and happiness and I feel recharged when I am along with them. When I started my business, I was so focused to my work that I use to work almost 15 hours a day. As generation has changed so has technology and communication. The entire working system now is just a click / call away. Hence, to manage the operation has become easy as a result of which I can attend all the important social and family events and functions. Your Success Mantra? During my college time I learned an important lesson from my father, who was my first teacher and really became my most important mentor. He told me his secret to success was to 'Look at each day as a new opportunity and to be your very best. Set high goals, be honest, never say no, and work with people who share your passion for doing their best.' I've always remembered that advice and try to live it every day. I am very self motivated, determined and honest. I really love what I do

and I try to surround myself with people who share similar passions.

"I never assume our customers are fully satisfied, they always want more from the company and the product, so I do my best to follow up with every customer. This feedback has provided valuable insight into the quality and characteristics of our products. The customer, as well, always appreciates this follow-up, especially when something hasn't gone right and you still have the opportunity to correct it on a timely basis. In addition, I'm able to pass on information to our design and production units to help improve both process and product." Your inspiration? My Father is my inspiration since my childhood. He has made me walk each step with knowledge and courage. He use to always teach me how to maintain good relationship, how to fight with difficulties, how to carry yourself when you are at a success level . During my school and college holidays I use to visit the industry to get trained with all kind of works like how to manage the workers, the customer, the production and product knowledge. His way of dealing and managing gave me lots of knowledge and strength.

Their beautiful daughters are there centre of universe and wish nothing but great success for them. At the same time the kids respect and dream to make their parents proud in whatever path they choose in life.

As Individuals Amir: A builder and a businessman by profession, I am generally easy going, fun loving and believe in not taking life too seriously. I enjoy travelling and I’m immensely fond of adventure, I can pack my bags at the drop of a hat and take off at the shortest notice. Nature is what I love and can spend days exploring the wild. I love to lounge at home in my free time, watching movies or simply relaxing in the garden, playing with my cats. I love my sleep and am just not a morning person, I can kill if woken up early (laughs). Sabiha : I am a combination of idealist, the artist and the creative. My love for aesthetic details extends from clothes I design to the exteriors and interiors of my home, which are all personally done by me. I am an outgoing and lively person and love spending time with friends. People confide in me as I am considered to be a compassionate listener. Reading is something I cherish since childhood. Although I like being with people, I equally enjoy time spent in my own company. Spirituality is a major part of who I am and believe that in the spirit of acceptance 58 DECEMBER, 2013

of oneself, one can transform one’s life and evolve as a human being. Marriage: Thinking back, it appears as if we’ve been married forever! We have our occasional ups and downs, but being a family that believes in the power of communication, we resolve issues by talking it out. The journey called marriage can be compared to a voyage, as a ship asail on the myriad moods of the ocean, sometimes rough and choppy and at other times, profoundly serene and peaceful. Thing that keeps you bonded as a couple Sabiha: One thing we’ve always maintained is: Enjoy each other’s similarities and respect each other’s differences. The one major thing that has worked tremendously for our relationship is that we give each other a lot of space. Here’s a quote that illustrates my personal philosophy, ‘’And let there be spaces in your togetherness, that the winds from the heavens can dance between you.’’ The fact that we’re friends over and above everything else cements the marriage and keeps the closeness intact. My husband Amir and I are immensely passionate about antiques and our home is done up entirely in colonial and vintage

furniture. Our love for these vestiges of the old world extends so far that we’ve incorporated antique and period furniture into our family furniture business - 21st Century. This shared passion keeps us bonded at work too as we put our heads together at how best to source and restore these pieces. Children: We have two beautiful girls, Sofiya who is a medical student and the younger one Aiza. Aiza is in her fourth standard at Nasr. They’re both voracious readers who balance their academic life brilliantly with their social and personal interests. Sofiya is a style diva and Aiza is a talented artist who loves to sketch cartoons. Naturally, as all parents do I would like to see my children do well in their career and personal lives, but most importantly I want them to grow into responsible and kind people who touch others’ lives and make a positive difference to those around them.

You’re Style: Sabiha: I’ve always held that fashion is a statement of personal expression. Each individual can be ‘’fashionably turned-out’’, if she/he combines what best describes his/her personality with self-confidence and dresses to suit his or her own individuality rather than blindly imitate the latest runway trends. Each person has a distinct body type and one ought to wear what best complements their body. It is also very important to keep in mind that fashion must be congruent with the season. Dress accordingly. Fashion is largely an individual expression and what one wears for the day is a statement of their self expression for the day. For a complete and well-groomed look, the right jewellery, shoes and handbags

Rapid Fire What do you call your kids? Sofiya is called Sofi. Aiza is Aizi. What is the best gift you have received from your spouse? Sabiha : A classic English four poster bed. What is one thing you wish you had from your parents? Sofiya : From my mom, definitely her hair! Her mane of glory. And also, her courage and boldness. From my dad, his smile. Not just literally, but his ability to smile all the time, regardless of the circumstances. Aiza : I want my parents to grant me freedom to go out by myself and I also want them to buy me my own cell phone (laughs). Where would you want to take your next family holiday to? Europe, to enjoy its rich cultural beauty. Where do you hangout most as a family? The Secunderabad Club, Chinese restaurants, movies etc. One thing that cheers up your kids instantly? Chocolates, Books, and especially Shoeshopping is an instant high for all of us. One dream you want to full fill for your parents? Sofiya : Though it sounds too out there, we both dream of winning the Nobel Prize someday, for something that has an impact on humankind and improves the present state of our world. I am sure that would make our parents very proud.

Sofiya : My mother is responsible for encouraging me to be open-minded and to question everything before accepting it. My father has taught me how to be pleasant even during stormy weather. I have seen my parents have arguments and disagreements, but I have seen them resolve their differences and clear their problems out, instead of just shoving them under the carpet. This has taught me the importance of communication and the fact that in the end, love really does conquer us. Aiza : My parents have taught and encouraged me to be confident in whatever I do and to always be kind to people and animals, these two things are something that I will always remember in life.

SACHIN TENDULKAR The Cricket God Takes A Seat!

achin Tendulkar – The God of Indian cricket finally bid a good bye to the game after playing his twohundredth test match, against the West Indies. We try to get you a small gist of his journey in cricket.

S

He has been widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of his generation. Born in Mumbai, he took up cricket at the age of eleven and made his test debut against Pakistan, when he was jsut sixteen years old. He went on to represent Mumbai domestically and India internationally for more than twenty years. Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack ranked him the second greatest Test batsman of all time and the second greatest one-dayinternational batsman of all time. He was also the recipient of “Player of the Tournament” award of the Cricket World Cup held in South Africa. Tendulkar won the 2010 Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for cricketer of the year at the ICC awards. He has been conferred with the Bharat Ratna award, in fact it has been speculated that the criteria for the award of the Bharat Ratna were changed to allow him to receive the award. He is also a member of Rajya Sabha of Parliament of India. Tendulkar has been honored with the Padma Vibhushan award, India’s second highest civilian award, and the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award, India’s highest sporting honor. He was also the first sportsperson and the first one without aviation background to be awarded the honorary rank of Group Captain by the Indian Air Force. In the ODI series against Sri Lanka, Sachin Tendulkar was sidelined due to injury. However, during the following Australia tour of India, he returned to fitness and form, scoring 13 and 49 in the first test before making 88 in the first innings of the second test, thus breaking the record for most number of Test runs held by Brian Lara. He also reached the 12,000 run mark when he was on 61. He made a 50 in the third test and 109 in the fourth, as India won the series 2–0 and regained the BorderGavaskar Trophy. He was nominated for the ICC People’s Choice award for 3 consecutive times, he was also nominated to Rajya Sabha, the upper house of the Parliament of India and was ranked 78th richest sportsman in the world according to the Forbes’ list of world’s highest-paid athletes for the year 2012. He announced his retirement from IPL after Mumbai Indians beat Chennai Super Kings by 23 runs at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata to win the Pepsi Indian Premier League 2013. Sachin retired from Twenty20 cricket and limited-overs cricket, after playing the 2013 Champions League Twenty20 in India for Mumbai Indians.

ENTERTAINMENT In 2013, he became the only Indian cricketer to be named in an all-time Test World XI to mark the 150th anniversary of Wisden Cricketers’ Almanack. Indian Cricket would not be the same anymore without Sachin Tendulkar. He being the combination of genius, hard working dedicated and a person filled with intensity, the world would surely miss this hero on battle ground of cricket.

This is a tribute for the flames’ to reboot the day so emotional the love for you is irrevocable yeah this is purely true millions cried not one or two that was all for you when asked to say goodbye? Everyone grit their teeth every part of the ground will miss: The bats, the balls, the wickets The only name without which the game couldn’t get the fame no more the name no more the game name: Cricket. The crowd, the air going retard by hearing your goodbye all the way abroad no human was born, will be born to break your records. For the game of cricket they call you a God every part of the fans’ heart is dying to mix in the air around you and kiss you. It was overwhelming seeing you leave the world of cricket THE Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar will miss you! Rap by Deepak Pandit, Student, Aurora Degree College

My eyes became wet automatically when Sachin was departing from Cricket. Can’t think of cricket without him. He is such a clean and non-controversial cricketer over 24 long years. My greatest respect to legendary player. He scored 74 under terrible pressure on him by all fans. We need to rely on YouTube now to watch his past outstanding innings. We will Miss you Sachin.. Dj Jay, Resident DJ at Kismet

We know Sachin Tendulkar from the time we’ve known cricket. It’s hard to believe that his life between the 22 yards in the last 24 years has come to an end. It’s not only the cricketing aspect, I think what’s more difficult to handle is success and live up to the expectations of people . But I can proudly say that I was alive to witness such a person who had the power to break all boundaries and become a living legend. Cricket is said to be a gentleman’s game and Sachin has proved to be the perfect example for this. I think all the Indians will miss asking the question “how much did Sachin score?”To the man who stays grounded while everything around him is flying high, to the man who unites India like no one else can. All I can say is his retirement has resulted in the end of an era in the sports world. Due to all the merits he has earned I feel his debut day (15-11-1989) should be recognized as “world cricket day”. Proud to be an Indian! Anchal Kaur, LLB student, OU

Sachin, a man or ‘god’ India has worshipped for 24 years and will continue to do so. With him playing his last match at Wankhede, I tuned in the sports channel to watch what this man is going to say for the last time from the pitch. Though I have never been a big fan of cricket but his speech got me teary eyed too. The moment he finished his long list of thank you, I knew why people could walk extra miles for him. Thank you Sachin. Respect. Ujwal Sanghi, Student DECEMBER, 2013 65

MOVIES Movie Reviews

Ramleela Sanjay Leela Bhansali does it again! If critics are to be believed this is Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam director’s ‘best work’ so far. What works for the film? Moments that stay with you, Deepika-Ranveer’s passionate chemistry and well, Bhansali’s superb visual sense. Ranveer Singh is perfect as Ram. Born into a violent family with warring opponents, he gives Ram a lingering charm. Deepika Padukone matches Ranveer’s brilliance with her own fiesty and enthusiastic performance. It is becoming a norm that every time you see Deepika on screen, you feel she has become better than her last stint. What stands out most about the film is passion; the filmmaker’s, that of his actors’, and even in his characters. The first half is so fast-paced, cheeky, and energetic; it will enchant you. It has the happy parts: songs, drama, the kiss and cheesy text messages. The not-so-happy parts: parental disapproval, separation of the lovers, clash of powerful people and conspiracy. The story has been told a hundred times, and we all know how it ends, and how the characters will play out, yet it keeps you spellbound for most part. On the whole, Ram-Leela is a surefire hit. The film has masala for audiences of all classes and age-groups. It will score in multiplexes as well as single-screen cinemas, in big cities as also smaller centres. It will be liked by the classes as well as the masses. Thor – The Dark World Thor: The Dark World picks up where Thor and The Avengers left off; Loki (Tom Hiddleston,Out of Darkness) is being brought back to Asgard to pay for his crimes, and Thor (Chris Hemsworth, Rush) is battling to save the realms from falling further into chaos. As peace is restored, an ancient enemy named Malekith (Christopher Eccleston,Emily) reawakens and threatens to plunge the nine realms into total darkness, which he attempted to do many millennia before – until Thor’s grandfather stopped him. Pitted against an enemy that neither Odin nor Asgard can withstand, Thor must risk everything to stop the dark elf before the universe is extinguished. Thor was packed with whit, humor, charm and action, but between the mythological and fantastical was a film filled with family drama and memorable characters. Thor: The Dark World is another solid movie in the Marvel Studios lineup. Though it builds on the strengths of the first Thor film and ends on some exciting possibilities for future titles featuring the Mighty Avenger, there isn’t very much within the film that feels as unique as the original Thor did a few years ago. Nonetheless, the film is every bit the actionpacked adventure viewers likely expect. Masala Masala movie is a remake film as known to most of us. Remake story is nothing but carrying a first aid box, tool box and a ‘Stepney’ while proceeding on a journey when we foresee some unusual travel conditions. You know the way to win. Hence, chances of risk are minimal. That is the reason why when Hero of Venkatesh stature speaks, thats enough to take up a remake story. In the same way, his eye fell on Bol Bachchan. Venkatesh took very less time to decide. That too the story line also matches Venky’s capability. He thought he can easily perform the role. And that is the reason why another remake movie came to us in the form of Masala. Did Venky’s thought succeed? To know we must taste the new flavor of Masala formed by Venky and Ram.First half has some lapses. Story remains at the same place where it started even after an hour. Every character of the movie is designed for comedy. People also will laugh. But the actual thread which is supposed to bind the comedy line is missing. We many times get a feeling of watching continuous comedy bits in a TV serial. This movie is created believing the strength of entertainment with support of Ram and Venky. It’s worth when you make up your mind to just go and laugh, for some time. If you expect more than that, mistake would be yours.

Know Your Fortune

FORTUNE

- Tarot reading by Nupur Heda

SAGITTARIUS

Year 2013 for Sagittarius

(November 22 - December 21)

December will see you wonderfully fit, ready to have success at work and to win the heart of the one you like. Angels will help you until the end, thus giving you charm and wellness. You will live a very lucky period to meet the man of your dreams, as well as a concrete and productive moment on the economic and professional field is on the cards. You could also rely on the cards, as thanks to the Angels you could grasp the best occasions with strength and decision, in order to make important changes for your future; you could change your job or your partner with timeliness. Don’t let yourself be driven by impulsivity while you do your shopping. If you are born in the mid of the month, cards will be unfriendly towards you, thus provoking an unhappy period in your working or affective life. You should keep your eyes skinned; watch out for some eventual traps and for some eventual painful disappointments. “How to end 2013” tip from the Angel: Bacchus with his grapes in his hand is dancing around in your zone of shopping, money, charity, business and property. Oh yes. Shopping time!! Shop all your yearend blues away without worrying about the cash flow.

CAPRICORN

(December 22 - January 19) An excellent month is coming for you, it will be full of positive influences but also of some tensions due to the hostility of the cards in the sign of Capricorn. Angels will protect you thanks to their drive of creative willingness, to give you inner strength that will give you boost to the change and patience will bring you some luck in the second part of the month. As some cards are opposing you, if you are living an unsatisfying situation in the work or love fields, you will have enough strength to get rid of all the relationships that don’t satisfy you anymore, although this will need much effort and determination. Don’t get emotionally driven, cards will lead you the way towards a deep renovation of your life. From mid-month onwards, here comes the helpful time, that will give you successes in any field, from work to love, and money will slowly increase in your pockets. “How to end 2013”: Your image is a source of unadulterated pleasure, great time for the photo-shoot, profile update or YouTube hit. Name? Face? Shine bright, get famous, plan a party at a starry spot.

AQUARIUS (January 20 - February 18) You are supported by the bright presence of the card “The world” in your sign until the end, and there is no doubt you will be winning both on the work and on the sentimental fields. You will be protected by fortune in a very privileged way, you will enjoy a series of improvements in the fields of finance and of personal prestige. Angels will help you throughout the month, making you more practical, more concrete and ready to grasp any good opportunity in the work field, or to live some exalting moments with a new love, that suddenly came in your life. Only some time will cloud your enthusiasm, if you are born in mid of the month, you should think a lot before taking some important decisions, don’t give space to emotionality or to lack of clarity. You might have to face some burning disappointments. “How to end 2013”: Maybe you’re just not getting credit for something. Put out your work smartly in front of the crowd. It’s time to speak up for yourself.

78 DECEMBER, 2013

Birthday Special: The pain is gone and loneliness is over this Birthday. Now is the time to move forward and take the first step towards a beautiful future. Break that shell surrounding you and get back to your friends who may help you in reaching your soul mate or you may find someone who is also sailing in the same boat as you are. Though beginning is not easy but it is not impossible either. Before saying no, a try is always worth. Happy Birthday!!

PISCES

(February 19 - March 20) As cards are helpful and Angels will enter on the right time, the month’s general situation will decisively improve. Many of you could count on the powerful influence of the card “The Magician”, that will make you wiser and more responsible: your choices will be very wise and longlasting, in order to get a greater power in the work and personal spheres, thus allowing you to make important steps such as consolidating a love story. Cards suggest you to stop and think, in order to avoid sudden decisions, while Angels suggest to keep your eyes wide open. Don’t be afraid to eliminate the old stories though. If you are born in the beginning of the month, surroundings will make you creative to the greatest level. Success will come to you at the end of the month, with its luck drive, thus influencing both love and work at its best. “How to end 2013”: The intensity has been unbelievable with your friend, or the group, in 2013. Now you get to see a different side. Party in a different style, put on your sporty shoes and get set go on a car trip.

ARIES

(March 21 - April 19) You will face all the challenges that will come out, even the most complex ones, with far-sightedness and a winning strategy. Be careful not to overestimate your energies, avoid the excesses of confidence or of naivety. The good Angels will help you to quickly understand the right direction to take. Some more sense of timing and a bit of seasonableness will be the right tools to use in order to make your initiatives successful. Thanks to “The Sun” that smiles on you from above you could successfully try to look for your soul mate. Angel will make you face some complex decisions, that will need some effort and an extra amount of engagement, but you will sort it out pretty well, especially if you have to end an already exhausted relationship or to reconcile with your long-term partner with serenity. “How to end 2013”: Angels will join forces to help your mission, position and ambition. Enjoy the feeling of power and control. Don’t miss your special spot: utilize and shine.

(April 20 - May 20) A brilliant December is coming, full of news, even if naughty Angels risks to make you meet the wrong partners, or to cause some problems on the financial and work fields. The influences of the cards will be contrasting: those who are born in mid of the month will live an uncertain and restless period, but they will be characterized by a strong ambition and operative willingness. From 26th, you will be able to seize the fantastic opportunities of success both in work and in the sentimental fields. You will thus improve your budget and you could indulge in some extra expenses to improve your look: make the most of it to for a radical restyling. “Swords of King” will allow many of you to solve some engaging and thorny situations, or to meet some reliable and reassuring men, with whom you could start a long-lasting relationship. “How to end 2013”: The path to pure pleasure lies with your trip, book, website or course. Perhaps with a foreign connection or your belief system put on your offshore project applications in December.

GEMINI

(May 21 - June 20) As “The Moon” is hostile in Gemini, in December you will have to watch your back and never lower your guard. As Gemini are always wise and reasonable, you could count on the help of the Angels in the sign of Gemini until the end that will give you the right instruments and tools to defeat any enemy and to make a lucky hit or a happy meeting in the love field. Timeliness and concreteness will prevent you from making some wrong steps due to emotionality or to incertitude. In the second part of the month, time will turn its back to you, thus inviting you to be careful while managing your budget or a love story that already reached its end. “How to end 2013”: Some aspect of your apartment, house, money, charity or precious possessions now brings you a little bit of free bliss. End your 2013 with a charitable cause. It will give you inner peace.

CANCER

(June 21 - July 22) December will be a fantastic month for many of you. Thanks to the Angels, which will be in your sign for the whole month, you will be supported by a strong grit and strategic ability to solve any kind of problems. You will thus be able to realize your most secret ambitions in a concrete and satisfying way, increasing your power and maybe consolidating a couple relationship that was making you perplexed. Your mood swings will be the source of a great creativity and some deep transformations for many of you. For those who are still looking for a soul mate, there is some fantastic news coming from the cards which adds an extra amount of luck in the economic field and in the sentimental life; you just need to reach out your hand to grasp numerous fruits. “How to end 2013”: Sometimes there is no agenda except pure enjoyment. Plan a romantic getaway as the New Year celebration will be at its best for you.

LEO

(July 23 - August 22) The positive influence of “The Ace of cups” will make your life more dynamic, inviting you to make some valid, concrete and extremely advantageous choices. You will modify your job, change your activity or happily starting a new love story. You will face the challenges that will come out, even the most complex ones, with far-sightedness and

a winning strategy. The Angels will invite who already are quite restless and eager to change, to modify everything and everyone around, but they better be careful and think longer. Angels will be angry with you until mid of the month: you should limit the compulsive shopping, control the money management and talk in a constructive way with your partner, avoiding giving some unnecessary suggestions. As change will come, tensions will melt as snow in the sun. “How to end 2013”: Spend your year end working; the Angles will guide you in the direction and lead to sudden realization of your dreams.

VIRGO

(August 23 - September 22) Thanks to the invigorating help of the Angels in your sign and of helpful cards, you will be as safe as houses to face the consequences of your past deeds. Your strong stand towards things will give you an extra amount of strength and determination to start a series of important projects, if you are born at the beginning of the month. You could count on a greater confidence in your operational possibilities, and you could prepare a brighter and more gratifying future, where every ambition of yours will be satisfied. Any breaking or elimination of wornout relationships will be inevitable, because of cards that pushes you to change at any cost. From mid of the month time will give the final touch to your restyling work; you should anyway avoid the excessive expenses and watch out from the apparently easy relationships: they could hide some troubles or disappointments. “How to end 2013”: A kid’s theme party for the yearend or the kids around will give you a sense of happiness and delight, back to childhood.

LIBRA

(September 23 - October 22) Don’t miss out the occasion to fully enjoy December until the end, thanks to the cards in transit in friendly attitude that will increase your success and luck improving your work and financial situation. Besides, if you are born in the first decade or at the beginning of your birth month, you could always rely on the help of your friends to start looking for some new love meetings or some more challenging roles on the professional field. The wrong cards will anyway do its best to make your path towards success more difficult, putting some delays or obstacles on your way. If a sentimental relationship is not satisfying you anymore, it will certainly have to face a break-up that you know is inevitable. “How to end 2013”: You deserve a break and you should be clapping like a seal on a ball by the end of December as your house, family, home town or homeland delivers…at last.

SCORPIO

(October 23 - November 21) A bright and brilliant sky for you in December that will be enlivened by the fantastic influences of stars, helping you to seize every good occasion with timeliness and effectiveness, both in love and in the work spheres. Thanks to the will of power and the creativity promoted by circumstances in your life, that will especially involve those who are born in the beginning, you will come back to level and you will be more concrete and practical again, able to choose the best things for your future.
