Anushree Reddy
Anushree Reddy is a renowned name in the mainstream Fashion circles of India. With her golden embellishments and specific highlights on subdued and under toned dresses, the talented designer from Hyderabad has stolen many hearts in the fashion circuits and is also growing a very wide fan base in India. Having made her debute at the Lakme Fashion Week, 2013, Anushree Reddy is now the favorite of the brides from the most affluent families of India who opt specifically for her dresses at various multidesigner fashion stores Subtle shades, vintage floral prints, and soft fabrics are the components of Anushree Reddy collections that make girls go gaga over it. Her line of eponymous clothing is all about elegance and romance in traditional Indian wear. It is fresh, young and wearable right from the selection of elegant prints to feminine cuts and elaborate embroideries, each silhouette is a delightful visual treat.
“My turning point was being accepted by the Fashion Week. Even there, I made few mistakes initially. I learnt the ropes and got it right soon”, says the 31 year old who paved the way by being one of the first few to venture out of the city and carve a niche on the national ramp.
Tell us your story related to your career. How did Label by Anushree Reddy happen?
Right after I got married, I wanted to do something productive as I had a lot of time on hand and that is how my label took baby steps towards becoming what it is Everyone pursues a career in fashion out of a burning desire but honestly I just took one step at a time and never thought about where I’d go if I pursued this With no formal training in fashion designing, I started with one local tailor who was very instrumental in motivating me to continue this and make it something big My first batch of clothes were terrible to be honest. I sold them at an exhibition and most of them were bought by my own family members, just out of politeness, but I grew from my mistakes and improved my lack of imagination and finesse. It is what honed my skills and made me what I am today
What is the proudest moment in your career so far?
The proudest moment of my career which I also think is the turning point of my career was when I finally got accepted into Fashion week!! I found my niche in wedding wear right after the success of my second collection. I put myself in the brides shoes and imagine what I would want if this were my wedding and that’s what always helps me get it right The lack of professional training also helped me emerge as an original designer I don’t follow rules, I just put things together, colours and fabrics that appeal to me and go from there Even at the Fashion week I had made some mistakes but that’s my forte is guess; I always learn from them
What does it take to be successful in the field you excel? A few tips to upcoming stylists. It takes a lot of hard work and patience Patience is the key to success and this is proven in my case Also, don’t ever give
up if you fail in your first few attempts. Today, the first step for any upcoming designer is participating in the fashion week.
What is your personal style like?
My personal favourites are hues of pastels Chic, comfortable silhouettes
Tell us something about your family?
I’m married into a prominent political family My husband Jaiveer and I have 2 boys When I was younger my parents were always chilled out and gave me all the permission to do whatever I wanted I went to UK to complete my MBA and then got married with their blessings. My parents are my source of strength Everyone has always been very supportive of my ‘tailoring endeavour’ since the beginning, including my in laws (as I live in a joint family) who are a true blessing to me and my work I’m able to work in peace, knowing that my kids are well looked after.
Rapid Fire
Three things you don’t leave home without? My bag and Phone The third thing will be present in my bag anyways ;) What is the last lie you told someone? “There is no chocolate left at home” to my kids.

Shravya & Srikanth
How do you feel as a power couple?
Shravya: I don’t know about power couple but I feel pretty empowered and comfortable in my own skin around him . Srikanth: We make a great team in handling things so I love our compatibility.
Q. What are your plans this Valentines day?
Shravya: his birthday is a week before valentines so for me this entire week is a celebration. Our first valentines as a married couple too so pretty special :)
Srikanth: I am now under pressure to plan something
Q. What is the quirkiest factor you like about each other?
Shravya: I bother him a lot with silly things and he takes it with a pinch of salt . He reciprocates with equally silly gimmicks so we have a gala time.
Sreekanth: there is never a dull moment with her. She is constantly upto some or the other things so I need to keep up.
Q. If you could change one thing about each other what would it be?
Shravya: I am scared by the thought of that change because I love him just the way he is . He is perfect .
Q. Are there any changes in the two of you after marriage?
Well other then the fact that we are living together there are no surprises. Unlike any other couple we dint quite get an opportunity to travel or stay together before we got married while we were dating . So the only thing is we are getting to spend more time now together . Before I used to go see her for a few mins after session and then head back home . Now I just head home to her .
Q. Tell us something about you guys as a couple that nobody else knows.
We are very old school in a lot of ways . I knew I was going to marry her even before we started dating officially. So it was pretty smooth in terms of our compatibility and values . We are both very people loving and family oriented souls . The fact that I proposed marriage before dating is the only thing no one knows about I guess .
Q. One memory from the wedding that will stay with you forever .
Shravya: the fact that he danced for me I guess will be the best memory for me. I had such a great time. He went out of his comfort zone and enjoyed it and I will be forever smiling with joy whenever I remember that night. Sreekanth: the moment I saw her through the veil for the first time on the mandap I think was a very unforgettable moment for me. She was everything I dreamt off.
Q. What is The best thing your partner has told you till date.
Shravya: it’s more his actions than his words for me. He is a man of very few words. He was very clear, consistent and persistent about this relationship all through from the beginning. I wavered multiple times but he never did. He was always stood by his stance and fought through to make us happen.
Sreekanth: she does things for me that no one else did and by that I mean , she thinks and helps me through my professional as well as my personal day to day life. I know when I win or loose it’s not just me. It’s us.
Soumya & Khaleel
How did you two first meet each other?
Soumya - "We met through a mutual friend who was planning a surprise for one of their friends. What started as casual conversations quickly turned into something special. We were instantly comfortable and playful, like we’d known each other forever!"
Q.How do you feel as a power couple?
Soumya - "As a power couple, we’re driven by a shared determination to excel at what we love, giving 110% once we set our sights on something. We fully support each other’s dreams, and no matter how much one brings to the table, the other always compensates. With our busy Melbourne lifestyle, Khaleel steps up when needed, and we balance each other effortlessly. At the end of the day, it’s our teamwork that truly makes us powerful."
Q.What are some things you do to keep your relationship growing?
Soumya - “To keep our relationship growing, it’s as simple as it sounds—communication is key. We’re in it together, not focusing on who’s doing what, but supporting each other through everything. There’s no better partner than one who views the journey as a shared experience.”
Khaleel - "The best thing I can do for our relationship is give Soumya the safe space to be her spirited, empathetic self—no judgment, just understanding. She can sometimes get overwhelmed, so I make sure she feels supported. Being patient and open-minded has truly helped us build a strong, balanced connection."
Q.One memory from the wedding that will stay with you forever
Soumya - ""Picking just one memory is impossible because everything about our wedding was magical. Walking into our engagement by the lake, it hit me- I was marrying the man I love, surrounded by everyone I love. Sweetest moments? My parents holding my hand before each ceremony, felt like a little princess, my nephew's surprise dance, and my mom's constant support, which brought me so much comfort."
khaleel- "Definitely adding to Soumya’s favorite memories, here are a few of mine. One unforgettable moment was during the wedding ritual when my father-in-law gave me Soumya’s hand—both he and Soumya got teary-eyed, and it was such an emotional moment. That’s when a strong sense of responsibility really hit me. Another was seeing my dad taking pictures of us on his phone—it was such an adorable and heartwarming sight!"
Q.What is the one thing that you will never compromise on in marriage?
Soumya -"For me, it’s never taking each other for granted and always prioritizing communication. Trust is the foundation of any relationship, but what truly matters is the mindset and commitment to face challenges together as a team while continuing to grow as individuals."
Khaleel - "For me, being 100% yourself in a relationship is non-negotiable—no judgment, no trying to change the other person. It’s about creating a safe space to grow while protecting and supporting each other, built on trust and respect. We’re here as partners to make each other better while loving every part—the good, the bad, the ugly, and, most importantly, the clumsy. Because, let’s be real, who else is going to laugh when I trip over my own feet?"
Jibran & Dr. Fasiha
How do you feel as a power couple?
The very idea of being a power couple stems from being each other’s confidants and support system. Despite us being from two different industries of work, our partnership shines through our unwavering support and respect for each other’s ambitions. This has helped us foster an environment where we both thrive and inspire each other to reach new heights.
Q.What are your plans this Valentines day?
Jibran - This is the first Valentine’s Day for us as a married couple and I’m all about surprises. All I can say is that I plan to make sure she has a smile on her face from the moment she opens her eyes in the morning till the end of the day and every day there after.
Fasiha - I am terrible in keeping secrets with Jibran and end up telling him everything in advance. But this time, I am planning to create a memorable moment for both of us. Hopefully I don’t spill the beans by then.
Q.What is the quirkiest factor you like about each other?
Jibran - Brutally honest + Terrible liar
Fasiha - It’s how he confidently sings the wrong lyrics in the right tune and it somehow fits.
Q.What was your first impression of your partner when you first met him/her?
Jibran - Bubbly and full of life. Instantly knew she was the one.
Fasiha - Tall! Really tall! On a real note, there was this unexplainable warmth in his personality that tugged my heart.
Q.If you could change one thing about each other what would it be?
Jibran - The only thing I would change is “change flights” to travel the world with her.
Fasiha - Ditto
Q.Tell us something about you guys as a couple that nobody else knows We both are over thinkers and the situations we create in our heads together are downright hilarious at times.
Q.One memory from the wedding that will stay with you forever
Jibran - The vows we whispered to each other as we exchanged the rings.
Fasiha - The first time seeing him officially as my husband after Nikah papers were signed. There is something unexplainable about that moment.
Q.What is The best thing your partner has told you till date.
Jibran - she said in her vows - it’s not ‘till death do us part’ but rather “Fi dunya wal Akhirah” [ in this world and the hereafter]
Fasiha - When I asked him how he is sure that I’m the one for him, his answer was - ‘ My heart recognises yours’

Harshita — I personally feel like I’m more committed to work towards my professional goals, because of how encouraging and supportive Pravishta has been along the way.
Pravishta — The biggest change for me after marriage is that I prioritise spending time with friends and family much more than I did before.
One memory from the wedding that will stay with you forever
Harshita — The entire wedding ceremony was so full of love and good energy because we were surrounded by our closest friends and family. It’s tough to pick just one memory, but during our Pre-Wedding Reception, I would catch Pravishta looking at me every now and then, even though we were surrounded by so many people. He looked so excited and full of love!
Pravishta — During the Jeelikara Bellam process, we were just looking into each other’s eyes and laughing away. Even though we were surrounded by a lot of people, at that moment, it felt like it was just the two of us.
What is The best thing your partner has told you till date.
Harshita — “You have so much potential” — This is something I remind myself of on days when I’m low and it always lifts up my spirit. For me, it’s all about the small things so just hearing him tell me that has a great impact on me.
Pravishta — On the eve of our engagement, Harshita told me “I can’t wait to spend the rest of my life with you” and that’s definitely something that rings in my head.
Razzak & Ayesha
How did you two first meet each other?
Ayesha- he saw me a few times at various occasions and I was acquainted to him , and before I could know his family had sent a proposal and then we had a formal meeting and since then things escalated to a positive situation.
Q.What are your plans this Valentines day?
Ayesha - I would like to be cheesy here and say everyday is a Valentine’s Day for a happy couple , but besides that we shall be going for dinner , and laters it’s Netflix and chill, we like to spend quality time together and not do any extravagant things , because we both are introverted people and we both have a similar mindset.
Q.What was your first impression of your partner when you first met him/her?
Razaak - I thought she is way beautiful in reality then her pictures , I found her adorable , very pretty, she has a very sweet persona , I genuinely thought she is out of my league.
Ayesha - when I first saw him my first impression was damn he is tall and he is cute , for the first few minutes he looked shy but when I spoke to him I found him really funny I couldn’t stop laughing I could feel it that we both have the same sense of humour, somewhere I felt that this is the one.
Q.With both of you having a busy schedule how do you find time to spend exclusively with each other?
Ayesha- Its honestly all about priorities and we are each others first priority, so no matter how busy our schedules gets we always try to do things together by having continuous conversations through the days via text or phone call and then we talk about our day to each other at night which keeps us connected.
Q.One memory from the wedding that will stay with you forever?
Ayesha, Razaak- the one memory we both agree on is when we said qubool hai to each other , it was the most beautiful moment because all this while we knew it was going to happen we were excited but when the day of nikah had arrived, we were filled with nervousness and overwhelming feelings, and then when we we said qubool hai that is when it actually hit us , that wow we are finally married and a new chapter of life has begin it was a moment of extreme joy , excitement, love and contentment.
Q.What is the one thing that you will not compromise on in your marriage?
Razaak- one thing we both would not compromise is on our self respect , this basically means not sacrificing our personal values , boundaries, and sense of dignity to please each other as doing this can lead to resentment and unhappiness in the long run.
Ideas to Celebrate Valentine's Day at Home This Year-
We tend to put a lot of pressure on Valentine's Day. Even though it's meant to be a day to show your affection for that special someone, by the time you put in an order for flowers, track down a box of chocolates, and frantically search for that ever-elusive reservation for your romantic dinner, the big day can feel more stressful than loving. For that reason, plenty of couples choose to opt out and instead spend their Valentine's Day celebrating at home. We know, we know, the idea of staying at home for Valentine's can sound like not celebrating at all, but there are actually plenty of ways to make a stay-in day feel at least as—if not more— special than the traditional date night. All you need to do is to commit to doing something sweet for your sweetie, like, for example, signing up for an online cooking class, planning out a roomcom binge, or putting together a activity that will give you quality time together. If you're feeling the need for a little inspiration, we've put together some of the most memorable at home Valentine's Day ideas to make staying in the most romantic thing you've done all year.
Have an Indoor Picnic
Settle down on the living room floor with a gourmet spread (we like this lobster roll and sea salt brownies kit from Maine, or go all in on caviar) and bottle of bubbles. Make sure to set the scene with a cheerful picnic blanket and pack a basket they are worthwhile purchases if you don't already have them It sounds simple, but the shakeup from your normal routine is sure to make the whole experience feel special.
Dip Everything in Chocolate: The problem with a fondue night is that when it is over, you are left with a fondue kit that will likely never get used again That's why these stoneware pots of Belgian chocolate are so genius. Heat them up in the microwave and dip away; no clean up or storage required
Relax with a Movie Marathon
One movie? That's just a regular night. Giving yourself permission to watch as many as you want? That's a proper date night. Start with Baz Luhrmann's Romeo & Juliet or embark on a film series like Before Sunrise and enjoy a luxuriously lazy evening on the sofa Of course, you are going to need popcorn and candy; splurge on the good stuff.
Become Mixology Masters
Sign up for cocktail-making class with James Beard honoree Lynnette Marrero and Ryan Chetiyawardana, the founder of former world’s best bar winner Dandelyan, at Masterclass (Bonus, the subscription includes classes from the likes of Margaret Atwood, Dr. Jane Goodall, and other amazing celebrities ) Or, invest in a quality cocktail book and work your way through some delicious recipes all on your own.
Indulge in Breakfast in Bed: Simple gestures like breakfast in bed become special when you take them to the next level Make a huge spread of their favorite things on a cute tray bonus points if things like pancakes or waffles are heart-shaped and serve with a favorite book, newspaper, or magazine. If cooking isn't your strong suit, then order these chocolate croissants to serve gooey out of the oven and pick up their favorite coffee.
Quiz Yourselves for Trivia Night- Perk up your Valentine's Day dinner conversation by busting out this quiz book it is always fun and surprising to learn new things about your partner, no matter how long you've been together Or, organize a virtual date night and team up against other couples with a round of virtual Jeopardy. Have everyone contribute to a winner's pot (maybe a certificate for a couples massage?) to amp up the friendly competition.
Relax for a Spa Day
If a spa weekend isn't in the cards, pamper yourselves at home Trade off giving each other massages with stress-relieving oil, take a long soaking bath, and if you haven't gotten, ahem, distracted yet, chill out with hydrating face masks. One way or another, you'll end the day with a serious Valentine's Day glow

PEOPLE ’ S CHOICE
VASANTHI SINGAMPALLI IT EMPLOYEE & FOOD INFLUENCER
I am glad to see that this working culture has proved to be very helpful in boosting an individual’s productivity. Sometimes, being able to work with undivided focus is key to delivering efficient outcomes, and these cafes help individuals achieve this. Be it a writer drafting an article, a video editor editing a video, an analyst compiling data, a freelance photographer editing his pictures, or a manager working on his presentation, a cafe is a perfect place for driven individuals that enables them the facility and benefits the work-friendly
environment. Last House Coffee serves specialty coffee and light bites and offers the ideal environment for those who have that one dreaded item on their to-do list.
Whether you take a seat near the coffee counter or outdoors overlooking Durgam Cheruvu Lake, the ambience is peaceful yet productive. A place where procrastination easily goes to die (which is a good thing). While several of the workfriendly cafes provide options for vegans, none of them can beat 'Terrassen' in this arena.
Serving 100% whole foods, the plant-based cafe provides plenty of options for vegans to nibble on between work and studies. I love the cozy cushions for a homey feel and the windows that allow plenty of natural light to inspire you. Everything you need for a wholesome session

CLIENT SUCCESS ENABLER
Working from home may be a benefit and a curse at times. The constant looking at the laptop's lit screen with no human connection might become monotonous and incredibly repetitious. At times, you may even want a location where you can find pleasant people, an unbroken internet connection, a cup of freshly prepared hot coffee, and a few excellent foods to enjoy. This is where work-friendly cafés come in. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city, with breathtaking views and and plenty of space
There are those who can and cannot work from home. Personally, I fall into the latter category; my couch and television have become insurmountable distractions. Another reason I enjoy going to cafes around town is to try different types of
coffee. I've also noticed that sometimes breaking the routine is just what you need to get some real work done. Getting out of the house and working from an unfamiliar location can often unclog those clogged neurons and provide a jolt of motivation to finally finish that project or complete that long-pending article.
People go to cafés to work for the following reasons, in my opinion: The easy-going environment, informal clothes, independence, and flexibility have a beneficial influence on their self-esteem, commitment to their profession, and degree of responsibility. Employees love working at a coffee shop, while companies benefit from increased productivity and remote work. My top picks for cafés in Hyderabad are as follows:
Cravery
Soffreh
Last House Coffee
Personally, I believe that these cafés in Hyderabad are improving the way Gen Z works.

While, it is surely a blessing, working from home can sometimes turn into an ordeal. At times, one may even crave a place where you can find friendly people, an uninterrupted internet connection, a cup of freshly brewed hot coffee, and a few tasty dishes to relish. That is when work-friendly cafes come in.
Tucked away from the clamouring of the city, with mesmerising views, and plenty of space, these cafes in Hyderabad are upping the way Gen Z works. My top 2 picks are:
1) Roastery - One of the best brewed coffees in Hyderabad.
2)Aaromale - That Kerala vibe with some amazing food is just a perfect work friendly cafe.

With a number of people moving to Hyderabad for work, our city has been welcoming to the work culture in recent times, by opening a number of work and cultural spaces where you can work in peace. Some cafés even have lush greenery, spacious set up, enclosed spaces and many other options to choose from.
Some of the places I would suggest for Work from Café are Renao Cafe and Bistro, Naomi Café and Patisserie, Roastery Coffee House and Comic Social

World Cancer Day Special: A Conversation with a Cancer Expert
Dr Anil Aribandi completed his schooling at St. Anthony’s and did his intermediate at Little Flower. He then completed his MBBS in Warangal and MD in Medicine from Osmania University. He then trained in Hematology in the UK and worked as a consultant there until 2012. Dr Anil spent 12 years in the UK before returning to India in 2012. For the first two years, he worked at KIMS, and for the next 10 years, at the American Oncology Institute. He has recently joined Sindhu Hospital, which is located behind Yashoda Hospital. After five years of training in the UK, Dr Anil became a specialist. His expertise lies in treating blood cancers, bone marrow transplants, simple bleeding disorders, etc. Essentially, he specializes in the entire spectrum of blood-related conditions.
As told to Pragnya K
What inspired you to specialize in this field?
Initially, there were no dedicated haematology specialties in India, so I gained exposure to this field only when I moved to the UK. Back in India, most doctors preferred to specialize in cardiology or gastroenterology But since my background was in general medicine, my seniors encouraged me to work in the haematology department. While working in haematology, I dealt with a wide range of medical issues such as infections, electrolyte imbalances, and chemotherapy administration I also worked with patients suffering from blood disorders It was a combination of medicine and oncology, and I found it incredibly fascinating I decided to return to India because there was a lack of haematologists here, and I felt it was an area where I could make a difference
Are there any warning signs for blood cancer?
Blood cancer is a broad term, but it's helpful to break it down into different categories. Our body has a stem cell population in the bone marrow, producing various types of blood cells red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets. Blood cancers generally affect these cells.
For example, lymphoma is a cancer that originates in the lymphatic system and affects lymphoid cells, which fight infections. Plasma cells, which produce antibodies, can also become cancerous, resulting in conditions like multiple myeloma. Leukaemia, on the other hand, is a cancer that affects the development of blood cells in the bone marrow, and there are different types, like acute and chronic leukaemia.
Signs to watch for include unexplained weight loss, persistent fever, lumps in the neck, armpits, or groin, and unusual fatigue. If someone experiences persistent fever or frequent infections, it could be a sign of leukaemia. Additionally, if platelets are low and bleeding becomes difficult to control, it could be a red flag These symptoms often prompt further diagnostic tests, including bone marrow biopsies, to confirm the diagnosis.
Can lifestyle, food habits, or exercise help reduce the risk of blood cancer?
In blood cancer, lifestyle factors like diet or exercise don’t have a direct role in prevention. However, environmental factors such as exposure to chemicals or toxins could potentially increase the risk Smoking is a major risk factor for many cancers, but when it comes to blood cancer specifically, there isn't a strong link between lifestyle and prevention Alcohol consumption, however, may contribute to an increased risk of various cancers.
In other types of cancer, like breast or cervical cancer, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is crucial. Regular exercise and a balanced diet are always beneficial.
Is
chemotherapy administered in the same way for all
stages of cancer?
For blood cancers, treatments are based on cytogenetic factors, meaning we look at genetic mutations that are present. For other cancers, like lung or breast cancer, the treatment is generally stage-based, but blood cancers like myeloma or leukaemia are treated differently depending on their genetic characteristics In blood cancers, treatment strategies are tailored based on the specific genetic markers that are present in the cancer cells.
Is regular screening important? If so, how often should one get checked?
In the case of blood cancer, there are no routine screening tests like there are for breast or colon cancer. However, regular blood tests to monitor parameters like liver and kidney function (RFT and LFT) are always a good idea. For other cancers, such as breast cancer, screening should start around the age of 40, with annual mammograms recommended In Western countries, colon cancer screening typically starts at age 50, but this is less common in India.
Can blood cancer be hereditary, or is it unrelated to family history?
The chances of blood cancer being hereditary are quite low. Although mutations in certain genes can increase the risk, only about 1% of cases are linked to family history I’ve encountered very few cases in my career where blood cancer was inherited.
Do you have any advice for people reading this, particularly those concerned about cancer?
The best advice I can offer is to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We still don’t have a clear understanding of what exactly causes blood cancer, but environmental factors, including exposure to toxins or pesticides, could play a role. That said, a healthy lifestyle - regular exercise, proper nutrition, and avoiding harmful substances, always helps Prevention may not always be possible, but staying healthy is the best defence we have. I’ve seen many young people diagnosed with blood cancer in their 30s, and while we can’t always prevent it, a healthy lifestyle will always benefit your overall well-being.

NineteenEightyFour(1949)
1984 is a dystopian novella by George Orwell published in 1949, which follows the life of Winston Smith, a low ranking member of ‘the Party’, who is frustrated by the omnipresent eyes of the party, and its ominous ruler Big Brother. ‘Big Brother’ controls every aspect of people’s lives. It has invented the language ‘Newspeak’ in an attempt to completely eliminate political rebellion; created ‘Through crimes’ to stop people even thinking of things considered rebellious.
