LIFESTYLE Tell us a little about how the idea of becoming a stylist came into happening? I think it’s something that happened accidentally. I joined the film industry as a costume designer but thanks to Sam and our passion for clothes, I started styling and I have never looked back. How has the journey been by far? It has been brilliant. I have enjoyed every bit of it. The learning process is the best! In every movie there’s a scope to learn and grow; the same is with styling for an event. Your morning, evening and weekend routine for the day? Mornings start with my baby, that’s the best time of the day. Then, I am off to shoots by 8 am or so. The day continues with shoots, meetings, and shopping. This is what my days and evenings comprise of. There are no weekends for me. I work with my friends which makes my work fun too.
What do you do in your leisure time if you are not working? I am home if I am not working. I like to catch up on films I haven’t watched and sleep! How do you manage your work and personal life? I don’t know if there’s a particular formula but whatever it is, seems to be working. I try to balance as much as I can. Tell us something about your family? My husband Ajay, I and our baby Ansh. I have a great set of in laws whom I love and my parents; they have supported me through
everything. I don’t think I can work this way and have such crazy work schedules if my family did not support me as much. How is your usual day at work? It is very hectic, there is lots of work because I work on multiple projects and there’s always something happening, which I love! What is next for you? There are about 15 films in the pipeline for the year... I am starting a new restaurant next month along with a few friends and also working on starting my label by summer.

‘I call myself an Ambient, as I don’t quite fit into either categories of an Introvert or an Extrovert. Like an Extrovert, I am pretty outgoing, drawn to people and get my energy from social gatherings. On the other hand, I crave and enjoy my alone time as well. I am a very easy going person, fitting and finding myself being content with any situation pretty naturally. When it comes to work, I am a workaholic and you will never find me sitting idle in one place. Either on the phone or rushing to a meeting, I am jack of all, accompanied with the master of the field (my partners); I am a jugadu and fit my work perfectly, I take quick decisions according to the situation with a practical thought.’ says Ayush ‘I am a happy go lucky person by nature. Love experimenting with life. Music, adventure and traveling are always a big yes. An absolute perfectionist and quite a critic. I can be really fussy and analytical at times, but believe in having a practical approach towards life. I love my space and consider my family and friends to be my strength. Coming to my workplace, I am open to new ideas. It might not be easy to please me. I strongly believe in the overall development of my team, because a company is only as strong as the team behind it.’ says Farah
How did you come up with ‘Pink Pagdi’ ‘We three musketeers were united at a grand wedding of a Tollywood star. We were all in charge of different segments but while working there, we realized we are essentially guided by the same passion and the same ideology. It was then that we decided to have our own venture, hence PINK Pagdi was conceived. ‘ Srinivas
What according to you is the main USP that makes your company different from others in Hyderabad? ‘Pink Pagadi conceptualizes the dream wedding one might have. We are essentially wedding planners who have built a niche for ourselves in Hyderabad. We passionately believe that great designs are an outcome of well thought out concepts. We devote ourselves to find the taste of our clients, what their idea of a dream wedding entails and what suits them the best. Pink Pagadi is a magic wand you would love to have in order to make that big day of your life perfect. At Pink Pagadi, we work with the motto to make your wedding extraordinary. Hence we call our concepts the ‘Big idea’ and whatever we do, we execute it with utmost panache.’ Adds Ayush
What are your roles in specific?
The Visionary : With an excellent background in understanding market dynamics and client needs, and a natural knack for creativity, Farha Kudari takes care of the Ideation department and putting everything together. The Executor : To ensure that you’re special day be a memorable one, Srinivas Gunishetty puts all the pieces together and builds up your dream wedding and acts as an executor. The Conceptualizer : Heading the creative department is Ayush Agarwal, who is known for his out-of-the-box thinking and unconventional ideas. With a diploma in Art Direction and experience in working with MTV, Ayush’s artistic background is evident in his ability to interpret and develop client’s ideas and thoughts, collaborating with them to create a completely personalized wedding.
How do you keep your creativity alive and ideas fresh? ‘At Pink Pagdi, we believe, “Creativity is directly proportional to your risk appetite”; higher your risk appetite the better the creativity. The day you get scared of experimenting is when your creativity will die and that is what we do not let happen. Inspiration and positivity is in our blood, and it is inspiration along with positive thoughts that keeps us going. Sometimes outsiders are invited for these sessions, as working in the same field and especially in season time we could fall prey to one track thinking. One absurd idea from anywhere could make a whole theme for us for the season.’ says Farah
Do you ever have clashes in idea? If so, how do you come to a conclusion? ‘Yes. We are 3 different individuals and so are our ideologies but our goal is the same. You will find us in constant debates and war rooms. We all believe that open communication is the key to a strong partnership. We respect each other’s opinion and believe in each other’s strengths. In situations of clashes in ideas, we let the one with command in that area take over. Also with experience as a team, we have realized things that have worked and not worked for us in the past and that has strengthened our bond and trust in each other’s capabilities.’ adds Srinivas
What was the most difficult event you promoted? What made it difficult? ‘We take all the events as a challenge and promote it in our best capacity. However, if we had to look at one such event, there’s one that involved executing an entire wedding reception setup in just three hours. of execution time? It is the combination of meticulous planning, appropriate vendor selection, bond with the hotel and focused supervision in every field that helped in the flawless execution of the plan.’ says Ayush
How do you get the ideas out of brides/families so that they describe to you effectively their vision for the wedding day/ special event? ‘Nothing works better than an intriguing talking; that is what our 1st meeting is all about. We have a set questionnaire that helps us to get the base perfectly right. We ask numerous questions multiple times, show them references and help them to imagine what we are trying to communicate. We ensure to have spoken to each one that matters. We become a part of the family, suggest them things that they should and warn them about the don’ts to make THE DAY a special one.
Tell me about a time when you had to deal with a difficult client. How did you manage that relationship? Encountering Birdezilla and Groomzilla is the job of Super Heroes like us. Every Wedding is special not just for the client but for us and making the client feel that way is the key to a lasting relationship. Creating a bond is a necessity and we ensure to do this by making our clients know we are listening. We make sure that the only duty of one of us is to stay in constant touch with the client and comfort him. We also follow certain protocols such as contracts, MOU’s and other legal formalities, so that both parties are align. Our funda is to ensure to promise minimal and deliver at a maximum; hence we hardly have any disheartened clients.
What are the trends that are ruling this season, the color pallet and decor theme you are most likely to use best for the following -
Day wedding: Keep it simple and play with fabric and colors. Bright, vibrant and playful are the order of the day for day weddings. Night wedding: Royal never goes out of fashion big sets with intricate work and with a touch of modernism is what we have seen this season. Cocktail: Metallic grey red, blue, black bottle green amber etc. usually for cocktail parties. We go for theme based parties like casino, a day in Vegas, carnival etc Sangeet: Gone are the days when Sangeets were done by some sects of people. Sangeets have become bigger now. They are no less than any big award ceremonies that you see on TV. Black and Red is what have dominated this season so far and now we are going for metallic grey’s, Gold and Black. With a knack for great fashion herself, She isn’t afraid to experiment— whether it’s ditching boring leggings for eclectic dhoti pants or skipping the formulaic LBD for a traffic-stopping cocktail dress. She was in Hyderabad as a showstopper for Rahul Gandhi and Rohit Khanna at BPFT’16 and we made the most of the opportunity to get some fashion cues from the lady herself that will have you looking like a million bucks with minimal effort. Reade on to know more about what she thinks of fashion, her dream wedding and what she loves the most.
On being in Hyderabad I keep coming here for promotions and shoots; I have stayed here for 25 days when I was shooting here for linga. But it’s always been work visits for me, I haven’t really got a chance to go around the city, but I make sure I always carry some Biryani home, with me. 5 things you don’t step out of home without? My hoodie, my chain- that I am really attached to and never leave home without, sunglasses, wallet and lipstick. Your Fashion confession I am a very simple person by nature and so is my sense of style and fashion. I would rather dress down than dress up; because in my profession I always have to dress up anyway. What part of your work do you enjoy the most? My favourite part is process of shooting the film and performing on stage, I just love being on stage among live audience. When not working: I love travelling so I take off whenever I get an opportunity, other than that I catch up with friends, spend time with family and the usual things that you don’t get to do in a hectic schedule. One trend you would never try? Bum shorts (its ridicules, laughs!) When it comes to styling do you go by word of stylist or have your opinin too? No No!! Of course not, I always have my inputs because nobody understands your body type better than yourself; you always have a better idea about what suits you. With me there is an entire process of trials and fittings, seeing what looks good, contemplating before finalising an outfit. So I like to be in sync with my stylist and designers that I work with, also my educational background in fashion helps, so I think it’s always a joint effort Favourite Indian designer: definitely Manish Malhotra , I also like wearing Anita Dongre. On Dream Wedding: I intended to have the simplest beach wedding I can think of, I don’t even want to dress up on that day, I want to wear a simple thin gown, and maybe get marred barefoot on the smooth sand. What would you wear- Something simple but in red keeping Indian tradition in mind. 3 things in a man that would instantly attract you? How would you describe a modern Indian bride? Experimental! Brides today don’t stick to what they have been fed for so long, in terms of traditional dressing, they are experimenting with different silhouettes, different designers, mixing and matching. I have been to weddings where brides are like ‘i don’t have to be completely be decked up for functions’ and I feel it’s great.

Rihanna - I wore a peach colored cape with shorts by Purva Kumar for the pool party. Then, for the ring ceremony, I wore a beautiful gown by Kamaali Couture as the theme was IIFA - the awards night. My wedding lehenga was customized by Akansha Arora from Raas. And, I wore a bright coral Gaurav Gupta saree gown for my reception. Rahul - For pool party, I wore a Hawaiian printed shirt with capri pants, an indo-western outfit for the ring ceremony, sherwani for wedding and a tuxedo suit for reception.
One person you would really like to thank for being there as a constant support throughout your wedding?
Rihanna - I would like to thank my aunt Anju for always being there by my side as a support system during all my wedding preparations and accompanying me to all the places for my trousseau shopping. And of course, my dad for managing everything so well; it wouldn’t have been possible without him. Rahul - I would like to thank my sister for helping me throughout with all my preps and managing everything so well.

We both were very comfortable with each other from very first moment and had a great conversation. Hence, both of us were quite happy and impressed with each other.

I decided to get a formal degree from NIFT. After completing my course, I took a break from work to take care of my daughter and that’s when I realized how much I love the power of clothing and how, designing clothes and dressing up brides made me happy. Since then, I haven’t looked back and today the label has evolved to Vaishali Couture. What makes you stand out from the rest in this line of business? For us, client satisfaction is the ultimate goal. We strive to achieve it through our work and service. If a client comes to us and does not like the fit or feels uncomfortable, we do everything to make it better. CERAMIC PRO is the new sensation in town and to know more about it, we got in touch with the self-effacing MR.NISHANT SABOO, Director of SABOO CERAMIC PRO INDIA.He talks about his journey with Ceramic Pro and how it’s going to revolutionize the Indian Lifestyle Sector, especially the automobile industry.
Can you walk us through the company profile? Ceramic Pro is the brand of Nanoshine Ltd, And with over 3500 installers in more than 70 countries around the globe, its rapidly growing as the premium brand in the sector. For years the company has been creating industrial, multi-functional, protective coatings for all surfaces. I was briefed about this product last September by one of my close friends Mr. Agastya who saw its potential in Australia and he advised me to attend the SEMA show to gain more insight. I went to attend the SEMA Show in San Diego from where I met Mr.Peter and Mr. Adam from Ceramic Pro who educated, trained and enrolled me into the Ceramic Pro family. Tell us more about ceramic Pro in India? It was clear to me relatively early that one needed to confront the challenging situations faced by this sector and to have an unique product that has applications in all sectors is like a dream come true, and this is what happed to me while in SEMA. Coming back to India I had with me samples of all the major polishing brands and started conducting rigorous in-house R&D and after I grew in confidence with Ceramic Pro from my own experience, I went ahead and took the dealership for India in July, 2016. Now we have Ceramic Pro Showrooms in Hyderabad, Chennai, Cochin, Surat, Pune and Trivandram and Jaipur, Delhi, Bengaluru showrooms will be opened in the coming weeks. What makes ceramic pro unique and what are its features? Ceramic Pro is the only coating brand that has been certified by SGS, the worlds leading inspection, verification and certification entity. Ceramic Pro is a clear, liquid Nano ceramic coating, which when cured will chemically bond, transforming itself on the surface to become a rigid, super-structure of Nano glass, protecting the substrate it is applied to indefinitely. Thus the shield formed is of permanent nature, resistant to solvents,acids, alkalis, UV rays, harsh weather conditions, fire and corrosion. This preserves the original factory paint, makes the surface glossy, selfcleaning and super hydrophobic.
Can you brief us about the process involved? Any car that visits a Ceramic Pro centre goes through a process where the car is initially inspected and recommended a coating package based on the driving profile; say for example a car that regularly goes on the highway needs more protection than a car that’s primarily used for the city drive. Then the car is cleaned by foam wash, after which detailing, paint correction processes are done and the car is polished with Menzerna (German), Rupes (Italian) compounds and applied with Rupes machines. Once this entire process is done (approx. 6 hours), the surface is again cleaned with IPA to bring the surface to a stage where only the metal and the clear coat paint is remaining. Then the car is taken to an A/C bay and Ceramic Pro Nano Polish is applied that prepares the surface ready for bonding and then Ceramic Pro 9H that creates the layers protecting the surface, is applied with proper time breaks for proper curing and finally after the curing, Ceramic Pro Light is applied for extra gloss. Ceramic Pro rain for glasses, Ceramic Pro Leather for Leather surfaces and Ceramic Pro Wheel & Caliper is applied based on the packages chosen by the customer. The complete process takes three days and before delivery the car is baked with IR lamps or inside a paint booth for faster curing. We also educate and provide a demo to the customers and their caretakers on how to clean and maintain their car post applicationto achieve maximum life for the coating that’s been applied. What are your plans for ceramic pro in India? We at Ceramic Pro India are planning to venture into Industrial, Marineand Aeronautical and Construction sectors once we are satisfied with our in-house R&D. Mirzya Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Mirzya is a victim of some legitimate expectations than a prey to Sahiban’s perceived betrayal. Why did Sahiban break Mirza’s arrows? If this was the big central question that Mehra went about exploring in his reinterpretation of the Punjabi love legend then, for all the hope he kindled, the film doesn’t quite come up with any startling revelations, nor does it offer a radical, modern understanding of the tale. At another level the most interesting and compelling bit about Mirzya — its musical structure — also becomes its undoing. The film plays out like a highly stylised, spectacular Broadway musical; it does as though you are witnessing larger than life theatre on a 70 mm screen. You can actually see the film in its soundtrack alone. It remains the mainstay and takes away from the film. It’s a pity then that despite so much happening, so much aspired for in the film, in the end you don’t feel as though you have come back with something substantial. As in each of his films Mehra is not content with the usual, is highly ambitious with his craft but doesn’t quite hit the target here. Jack Reacher-Never go Back Let’s talk about Tom Cruise for a minute. They say; you must always separate the artist from the art, which is, like most rational advice, easier said than done. But with Tom Cruise, it has become a necessity. You see, despite his… quirks, Cruise is still – and this is a fact – one of the most dependable action heroes working right now. And Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is the kind of film he should be able to pull off in his sleep. But this time, it’s almost as if several of his yes men actually said that to him, and the invincible immortal Tom Cruise, the tan-free and with the power of Xenu rushing to his head/heart, took a breath, and thought to himself ‘I can do that’. For every good idea in this film, there are ten bad ones. For all its feminist ambitions – what with Cobie Smulders being in it and all – it’s still Reacher who ends up saving the day, and in one crucial scene, even making Smulders look like a fool (in front of twenty bad guys, no less). There’s a reason this film isn’t called Cobie Smulders: Never Go Back. It needs to be stripped of all this pretense, and it needs to embrace what it really is: A film that would have been sentenced to an eternity on the 3-for2 aisle of the local DVD store had Tom Cruise’s face not been on those jingoistic, Trump state posters.
Ijam Puri Jagannadh, one of the leading directors of Tollywood, teaming up with Kalyan Ram raised eyebrows. Although Puri is going through lean phase, the teaser of “Ism” raised expectations and it gave impression that he has come back in form. By now, people have stopped expecting a classic like ‘Pokiri’ from Puri Jagannadh after watching so many bad movies from him but all agree that he is still capable of presenting a decent movie like ‘Temper’. Hence, expectations were built on “Ism” but he disappoints again with this film. Puri has shown an international mafia don like Javed Ibrahim more like a bafoon. He is seen interacting with a match-maker in a comic way, and meeting Kalyan Ram casually and giving him silly ideas. Not only that; in the end Javed Ibrahim turned into a good guy. Puri Jagannadh has made an International Don a noble person! This is the first time that Telugu film industry touched upon Wiki-Leaks kind of journalism. All in all, despite patriotic scenes, noble cause of journalism, the movie doesn’t hold interest due to bad packaging. Kalyan Ram and court scene in the end are good part of the movie.
