AKAN: UNVEILING MAYAN MAGIC BY DURGAM CHERUVU LAKE Spanning three floors, Akan plated out a panoramic view of Durgam Cheruvu. The staircase, a majestic spiral (albeit geometrical) leading from one level to another, offered a stunning perspective of the evercharming lake. As the guests ascended, the visual feast continued, adding allure to the evening. The heartbeat of Akan resonated in its amazing bar area, roaring with Mayan theme – undeniably the heart of the establishment. Softboxes adorned the ceiling, casting a dim glow with the intricate design of the Mayan calendar. This subtle yet classy Mayan charm filled the entire space, creating an ambiance that was both captivating and sophisticated. Guests had a great time at the launch Party over cocktails and food.

HYDERABADIS EXPERIENCE THE ULTIMATE REPUBLIC DAY WEEKEND AT COMICON Bringing together the community of comic books, manga, anime, superhero films and all things fun, the event was a grand success as it makes a thrilling return with enthusiastic fans witnessing the celebration to the fullest. Attendees channelized their inner fandom to cosplay and put up their geekdom on display while others interacted and participated in tournaments, games among others. The 2024 Con witnessed the everexpanding fandom and love for anime characters such as Lufii, Naruto, Maleficent, Chainsaw Man and more, while a few brought back the classics such as Deadpool, Joker, and a number of Spiderman variations. Close to 4000 cosplayers per day participated in the convention and across the two days approximately 37,000+ attendees flocked to celebrate the best weekend ever. The performance line-up included celebrity guests Rana Daggubatti, Vishwak Sen, Varun Tej across different sessions followed by popular artists like MC Altaf, GEEK FRUIT, PANTHER, Afsar Sayed, Mooz, and the Proximity Crew who rocked the stage with their energetic performances across two days. HIMANI SINGH Trailblazing, exuberant and charming, Himani’s path to stardom has been anything but conventional. How has she transformed herself from a 20-yearold prodigious anchor to one of the most recognizable DJ’s and Host in India. What keeps you going? I entered the world of entertainment while still in college and there’s no looking back now. Commanding the stage, getting the crowd going, is my forte. It keeps me going and I feed off the energy of the crowd. For example, I am currently doing 5 shows in 3 days. You have come so far, how has the journey been? It’s been like a movie! I have experienced the lowest of lows and the highest of highs but I guess the struggle is part of being in the entertainment industry, there is no linear path, you need to put yourself out there. Having been a DJ, Game Show Host, Poker Anchor and Wedding Emcee, I don’t believe in saying no to an opportunity. I have done it all! 14 FEB, 2024 TULIP

What according to you sets you apart from your counterparts? I don’t believe in the conventional. People lead hectic lives; entertainment offers them an escape. They pay to be entertained and I go out of my way to give people a personalised, unforgettable experience. That is my niche, that is my speciality. An achor and now a DJ, how does DJ-ing compared to be on the stage? 51 seconds that‘s how long it takes for people to make a first impression about you, For a DJ, Performer or Host, it‘s my job to capture the audience‘s attention in the first 51 seconds. After that, i feel the room vibes and go with the flow. Energy in everything. What’s been your career highlight so far? I‘m now a signed artist with the Meet brothers. I have made 2 official remixes for them. One is from the movie dream girl featuring Ayushmann Khuranna and Nushrat Burecha and the other one featuring Urvashi Rautela. I have also hosted a Poker show for Voot and a reality show for Mx player. What would you say is the secret behind your success? There are no secrets! It‘s a lot of hard work, I know it sounds boring but listen, I am an entertainer first. I am an Artist, but I am only successful if my client is happy. When I see a nightclub erupt to my music, or the father of the groom tear up with joy, that is how I measure success, no amount of money or headlining shows can give me that feeling. What do we expect next? I am back hosting all week in Hyderabad, and I am doing a celebrity interview in Mumbai next week, followed by being the face of a web series on Holiday Homes in Goa. I‘m also working on another official remix. The work never stops and i don‘t intend to slow down.
Rapid Fire What’s your daily dose of happiness? Coffee, more like caffeine rush (haha) and of course music. Anchoring or Dj-ing? Stage person. Either ways, it’s a high for me. Name a music festival on your bucket list. I have a couple of them. But burning man tops it all. 2 things you do before going on stage? A quick self-pep talk. Deep breaths. People’s Take Hunar Lodha (Graduate Student) Macarons and cupcakes are my one of my absolute favourite desserts, and exploring them in various places always excites me. The intricate flavours and delicate textures of macarons never cease to amaze me, offering a perfect balance between sweetness and sophistication. Cupcakes, on the other hand, with their moist cake and luscious frosting and unending flavour choices are definitely on my top 5 favourite desserts list. Trying these treats in different locations adds a unique twist to the experience, making every bite worth savouring.
Premalatha Mandapalli (Retired) Sweet is my passion. A nice sweet after dinner fulfils my appetite, so I like stocking up some good desserts in my house and most of the times its cupcakes to satisfy my sweet tooth. When a child cries, if you give him a mini dessert like a chocolate or a macaron, you can see a sweet smile on his face. A sweet signifies happiness, good omen and prosperity. What are some things you do to keep your relationship growing? - Communication: We never go to bed angry! All couples have their fair share of disagreements and arguments but we never brush anything under the carpet.
