EXCEPTIONAL WINTER DRAINAGE PROPRIETORS HAVE MADE MASSIVE INVESTMENT WITH ALL NEW TORRO MACHINERY

GOLF COLCHESTER Firstly great to see Rory McIlroy take the the big one in the USA and to hear the European Golf Union are doing something about slow play in it's main events. It's no good preaching one thing to us club golfers and not putting your own house in order!

Unfortunately we are moving into the Autumn which means a change of climate. However we have it all covered with winter shoes (examples below) and plenty of exciting and colorful layer pieces from Underarmour, Ping, Puma, Footjoy, Rohnisch, Proquip, Oakley and Callaway. We also have waterproofs from three main suppliers.

With what appears to be another trading record this year a big thank you to all our regular customers for your recommendations you have passed on. We can do various types of advertising but word of mouth cannot be replaced. The whole team is very grateful and we will continue to work hard to ensure we maintain that position and your trust. Thanks

Phil

PS: Our 25th anniversary is coming up in November where we will have some FANTASTIC offers, prizes and events over a 10 day period. To keep in touch either send us your name and email address or sign up to our Facebook page.

COLLINS TAKES THE 125 CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

ichard Collins won his first Romford Golf Club title having previously won 5 titles at R Bentley where he recently moved from. The players woke on Saturday morning to 3040 mph winds and there was concerns it may have to be called off. Local club Orsett had already made the call and postponed their championship, but it went ahead and in the challenging but fair condition Collins lead the way with a fine 1 over par 72 to lead by 2 from former champ Tony Ames with Jimmy Hazell a further shot back. The Sunday saw calmer conditions and the steady Collins this time shooting a level par 71 to take the title by 4 on 143 from Ben Scanes who had the round of the weekend a 1 under par 70 and Ian Moore both on 147. Collins during his winners speech said “ It is an honour to win this title in a very special year for my new club and I look forward to representing the members in the future. What a special and very well run weekend and the course in excellent condition. It was great for my parents to be here to see my victory The Silver division ended in dramatic style with a 6 hole play off needed to divide Josh Halliday and Richard Vass both who finished on the total of -8-

160. It was the youngster Halliday who hit a great shot into the par 3 6th putting the pressure on Vass who missed the green left into the pond and conceded the hole. 3rd place went to Rob Stevens who missed the play-off by 1. The Bronze division was won by Ellis Bolger with steady rounds of 84 & 85 = 169 by 2 from first round leader Simon Thomas 82 & 89 =171 and David Gornall in 3rd on 175. The Ladies Title wet to Sue Bartram with a Gross 85 from Zoe Mclean-Tattan 90. And the ladies Handicap prize was won by Mia Gould with a net 72 from Carole Loveday 75.

– FRIDAY, 26TH JULY 2019 –

9 LADY GOLFERS TAKE PART IN

THE 72 HOLE GOLF CHALLENGE ON BEHALF OF MACMILLAN CANCER CARE 9 lady golfers aiming to raise £9,999.99 for Macmillan – can we do it? Well, we did, and here is our story! he night of Thursday 25th July had been a night of lightning flashes and thunder crashes T and by morning the weather was no better. We had agreed to meet at Langdon Hills Golf Club on Friday, 26th July at 4.45 a.m. Intending to tee off at 5 a.m. We arrived to a welcome from the ground staff who informed us that there was no way we could tee off at 5 a.m. The weather was still bad and lightning flashes were seen on the horizon; it just wasn’t safe. So, we had a cup of coffee and waited ... and waited. At 5.50 a.m. the green staff gave us the all clear. They headed out to prepare the greens for us and the three teams set off to start the challenge. The three teams set a cracking pace; all completing our first 18 holes in just over 2 hours 15 minutes. Our helpers were in evidence all day; Josie in her buggy, dashing between the teams with food, water and any medical items needed, Adrian, directing us in terms of where we needed to be on the course and by what time. Phyllis was of super support, driving Jan in her buggy throughout the day and Martin was the official photographer. There were also many ladies from the Club who arrived at various times to give support and encouragement. We held a putting competition in front of the clubhouse which was a roaring success. All we can say is a huge thank you to everyone, too numerous to mention individually. There is no way we could have done it without you. Without slackening our pace, we continued and by midday we had completed 45 holes; 45 holes! We couldn’t believe it. Determined to keep going we decided to have a short break to change shoes and grab a cold drink. Not stopping to eat lunch helped us. Our team of helpers grew, and the weather was also improving. It was late in the afternoon when we heard some amazing news; Redrow PLC had donated £999.99. This single donation meant that we would almost certainly reach our target. The teams and supporters were elated and even more determined to complete the challenge.

After 12 hours and about 10 minutes the first team headed up the 9th fairway and were astounded to see a large crowd waiting for us around the green. As planned, we gathered on the green of the 9th hole of the Langdon course; the first team to arrive, Lady Gems 3 marked their balls; Lady Gems 2 came next and marked their balls and then Lady Gems arrived, receiving a tumultuous welcome from the amazing crowd. The final putts went in and we had done it! We had completed the 72 hole golf challenge in 12 hours and 20 minutes.

5.35 a.m. - here we are just getting ready to go out – the all clear was given by the wonderful Ground Staff at Langdon Hills Golf Club … it was still raining but the lightning had finally stopped … it is time to go to our tees.

Then it was time to party, finish the raffle and auction and roughly work out our sponsorship total. We knew that with the donation of £999.99 from Redrow our target had been reached. The members and friends of Langdon Hills Golf Club had contributed throughout the previous three months of preparation; donating to our cake sale, raffles and an auction. We would like to send our sincerest thanks to everyone at Langdon Hills who supported us. We danced and partied on at the club until we were ready to drop; all of us feeling elated and so happy that we had achieved what we had set out to do; to raise a very large amount of money for one amazing charity. We said goodnight, all agreeing that it had been an honour to be part of this amazing team.

Encouragement from caddy Mandy got her back on track, seeing her 1 up playing 17. When her opponent found trouble in a ditch it was looking positive for Stoke and Debbie holed out for a 2&1 win. Walking up the fairway behind Debbie’s match came the last pairing who had already finished on the 16th. The spectators and players grouped at the back of the 17th green had no idea which way it had gone, but happily for Stoke by Nayland Lesley Hitchcock had birdied the 16th par 3 to secure a 4&2 win. Vicki Cumberworth has been in the fitness industry over 10 years, working with golfers since 2007 after completing a challenging course in California to become a golf Biomechanic. Vicki advises clients on how to improve their golf swing and eradicate faults through flexibility/core/posture while also working on strength and conditioning. Vicki can be contacted by email on vickipt@hotmail.co.uk or Tel 07921 075 212 web www.vickipt.com

Is Golf A Sport?

his is a massive discussion amongst golfers. How can golf be a sport when you see such T unconditioned players playing so well? How can golfers play 18 holes but never set foot in the gym? Play 18 holes after a beer and a bacon roll? All of these questions support golf not being a sport, however, I feel very very differently. Just one swing, one strike of the ball is like picking up the heaviest weight you can pick up in the gym once (one rep max), it creates the same strain, the same force and the same demand on the body. This will be repeated for a minimum of 70 times per game! This is going in the gym and lifting your 1 rep max 70 times ... and we wonder

B O DY A L I G N M E N T SHOULDERS

HIPS

KNEES

ANKLES WEAK ARCHES

HEALTHY ARCHES

why golfers are always injured? So from my perspective golf is a very demanding sport. When looking at the swing itself; it takes flexibility, strength and power to get into those positions and perform a good swing ... if you do not have the flexibility, strength and power you will get injured as over time and LOTS of repetition (70+ per game!) the body will not be able to take the strain. The most common places of injury are back, knees and hips ... the most over used parts of the body to perform the golf swing when no muscle, stability and flexibility is surrounding them. To achieve body alignment to avoid injury and increase performance is one of the most simple fundamentals to work on, yet the most neglected ... the clubs, the technique and practice seems to come first which essentially will always fall short without body condition. In my opinion, golf as a sport is one of the most demanding there is. The injuries over time can be long term and life changing therefore find yourself a good personal trainer specialising in flexibility, core strength, strength and functional training and start looking after your body.Your golf will improve but most importantly your body will thank you for it and fingers crossed be able to play a lot longer with a lot less injury. There is nothing worse than an injured golfer that cannot play golf!

FORRESTERS CLUB CHAMPION 2019 humongous well done and congratulations to this A year’s Club Champion, Marley Read. It was amazing to see so many people take part in the competition, in both the 36 and 18 holes. Whilst there was some great performances across the board it was Marley who was the victor on the day with an impressive score of 73 in the morning and 71 in the afternoon! As one of our juniors and a rising star we couldn’t be happy for Marley and his achievement - a sure sign of things to come. Well done and thank you to everyone that took part in the event or helped make it the great success it was. Roll on next year! - 22 -

MAKE SUCCESS HABIT FORMING! olf can be difficult. That is a fact. A few days before a tournament, perhaps the Club G Championship, we get ourselves down the range. We may even have a lesson so that we are in the best possible shape. How many of you, the night before, run through the course in your head, playing each perfect shot, having selected the right club? Then the tee-shot on the first doesn’t go as far as you planned? You’re going into the green with a long iron or even a wood, instead of that 8 iron, that you thought about in your head? You miss the green (that didn’t happen in your mind, the night before either)! A less than crisp chip and you’re staring a three-putt in the face! Sounds familiar? Just after the first hole, you put yourself under pressure, as your mind tells you you need to recover those shots somewhere during the next 18 or 36 holes. How useful is that to your game of golf and enjoyment? I’ve always been intrigued by how people react to ‘pressure’ and as some call it ‘Bounce-backability’ ... you know, those Tour Pro’s who make their first Bogie and then follow it up on the next hole with a Birdie. It’s not just confined to golf either, you only have to look at the world of football and cricket. How much ‘pressure’ is on the penalty taker in a shoot-out, as opposed to the Goalkeeper to make the save? The outfield player is ‘expected’ to score, therefore seems to have more pressure on them, whilst the keeper can become a

hero, often by standing still! Take this years Cricket, young Jofra Archer needed to be on top of his game in the World Cup Final Super Over. I’ve just watched the third Ashes Test, with one of the greatest innings played by Ben Stokes (not forgetting the important role played by Jack Leach). Interesting to watch the ‘Process’ that BOTH players went through, to achieve their desired outcome. Back to golf however, and a tremendous end of season for one of my favourite players, Rory McIlroy, winning the Fedex Tour Championship for the second time. Aside from Rory’s ability, that others have also, I was impressed once again by his mind control. Having walked up the same East Lake 18th with Tiger last year, having played four over, to losing out to Koepka only a month ago in the WGC St. Jude, with Rory not getting out of the starting blocks and Brooks carding a 65 final round, there could be some unwelcome memories, going into the final round at East Lake in 2019. But oh, how he coped, and actually put the pressure on Brooks, during the final 9 holes. Again, ability, tenacity, and I’m going to add here, process, patience and mindset ensured he was victorious. I’ve been involved with many players over the past months on a 1-2-1 basis to improve their game, why not try this for yourself? For those that follow my social media, you’ll also know I am looking for a venue to host a Mind Zone evening later this year. If you have that venue, please drop me a line. Enjoy your golf! www.themind-zone.com

SHORT GAME CONTROL am looking forward to delivering my September Short Game success one day Icoaching sessions over the next few weeks but here are a few areas to consider when practicing your creativity in conjunction with your technical elements. Lets’ face it, this creativeness displayed by the late Seve Ballesteros made him the absolute Maestro in this department, he played shots most of us could not even visualise. My philosophy of short game delivery are based around the following elements, there are

1

2

naturally sub divisions of these main areas which I cover in detail during my group and 1-2-1 coaching sessions. n Strike n Distance n Direction n Creativity There is one particular element which I would like to share for this article revolving around the club face. Everyone strives for the goal of becoming “Consistent” in their chosen department. As we are aware golf is a game of margins so the more constant the club face is at impact provides us with the ability to achieve many of the above listed elements. The two images demonstrate a “release” of the right hand (image 1) which is not ideal for the standard short game shot. There are of course many reasons this may happen which varies between player to player. The second image shows the clubface in a more “neutral” position effectively arriving at the ball with the similar amount of loft when starting. This position is critical to help control the trajectory and distance achieved during the shot. Next time you practice be creative and “experiment” with the hands just like Seve used to. Learn from the best. Sarah Bennett

DALE’S TEN LONG YEARS

ale Whitnell overcame “ten long years” as a professional golfer and a two-hole play-off D against Laurie Canter to emerge victorious at the KPMG Trophy. The Englishman began the final round three back of the lead, but birdied half of Millennium Golf and made only one bogey to

card an eight under par 63 and post the 23 under par target. Playing in the final group, his fellow countryman Canter eagled the 72nd hole to send the tournament to a play-off, and after both players birdied the first extra hole, they played the 18th once more. For a sixth time this week, Whitnell birdied the par five and sealed victory when Canter failed to make an up and down after hitting it through the green in two. “It changes my life completely,” an emotional Whitnell said. “I’ve been pro for ten years, it’s been very tough but finally I’ve done it. “I’m speechless to be honest, it’s been a long ten years. Finally.” “I had been playing good coming up to this week. I struggled the first day a little bit, but the second day I shot under 7 under and the same on the third day.”

GREAT STAGE AT ROMFORD omford Golf Club staged their F Barnes Solicitors sponsored Junior Open with 60 of R the counties finest youngsters playing for the clubs special 125th year trophy. In perfect weather and with the course in excellent condition it was Jack Fisk from Stock Brook Manor who came out on top with 44 Stableford points on countback from Theo Baker from Colchester. The Under 14’s title was won by Charlie Thomas from Thorndon Park with 42 points on count back with Romford’s Henry Linley in 3rd with 42 and the inform Zoe Mclean-Tattan 4th with 40. The previous week Zoe Mclean Tattan had won the Wee Wonders regional qualifier at Cambridge Lakes and has now qualified for the grand finals at Gullane Golf Club in Scotland at the end of August. Romford’s Pro Chris Goddard, coach to Zoe and Junior organiser at the Heath Drive club said “Zoe has such an incredible talent and has only just turned 11 she drives the ball 250 yards on average and her handicap is tumbling down she is now off 12 ... there is no doubt she will be down to single figures by the end of the summer. We have about 35 juniors here at Romford and many

have the talent to go to the highest level including Dylan Hussey and Henry Styles who are good enough to play in our Leslie Wood team and they are only 12! We are so proud of our academy here and the hard work is paying off for all to see.”

NOTLEYS SCORCHING SUMMER – FROM CAPTAIN DICKIE PRYKE – hanks to my members at Notleys Golf Club, my T Captaincy goes from strength to strength, and their generosity is fantastic to behold. Recently we held my Club Captain’s Day a day of good golf, and loads of fun as you can see from the photos semi-serious 4 BBB paved the way for a great raffle auction, excellent curry from our inhouse team led by Deborah Hulme. And then rounded off by a game of our own invention “Bolf ” or “golf from anywhere” even from on top of the outside tables were not off limits, as exCaptain Dean I’Anson shows here. Hoping to raise a few quid for my Captains Charity, I was astounded to be eventually presented with over £1800 from just this one event, the friendly generous Notley members and staff are second to none! In more serious matters, we recently held our Club Championship too, and with a number of lower handicap players joining the club recently, it was a hotly contested event. Played over two consecutive Sundays, the comp was concluded with an excellent Hog Roast, but not before 5 handicapper Phil Southern romped to ultimate victory in the 36 hole Scratch

Championship, carding 157 (80/77), and two shots ahead of the runner up Dave Wren. Phil is seen here on the right, receiving the Championship trophy from myself. My thoughts now turn to Captains Charity day in September, and the conclusion of our summer Singles and Pairs match-play competitions which are also being hotly contested. My great thanks to all the members who support my charity, and especially Vice Captain Bob Rollins for his excellent raffle compering skills!

STABILISING HIP MOVEMENT ON BACKSWING aving a stable base to your golf swing is The benefits to having a stable base are many but the main one for me is that if the bottom fundamental to increasing the consistency of H the overall motion and the quality of ball striking. stays central then the top cannot move far from We know at the top of the game with the really high swing speeds that the elite golfers create you need to work on the strength of your legs and your core muscles. Obviously not every one is swinging that fast and certainly you can work on the stability of the lower part of your swing without doing exercise. The easy way to do this is to use two tour sticks in the ground either side of your legs level with the ankle bone. For right handers the right hand stick should be inclined slightly to follow the leg, this need to be quiet tight to the hip as I want you to notice that the right hip actually turns in and widens the space between you and the stick. The left leg stick is vertical and what you should notice if you have stayed central is the spacing even though the hips have turned stays the same as it was at address, I have marginally exaggerated the right hip turn in the images to show you the widening space.

where it needs to be. This ties in with the vision editorial I did as being stable in the backswing makes it much easier to keep the foveal vision on the ball. Try the drill and see how it feels, if you are a mover on the backswing it will feel very tight and hard to move but with a little practice it will get easier and the benefits are huge. Good luck. For more information on this or any of the other subject I have written about please feel free to call or email using the details below. BULGE, ROLL & GEAR EFFECT s you are probably aware from some of my previous articles I'm not a great fan of some of A the marketing (or playing with words as I call it) that the golf industry offers. By this I mean that often we are told that a driver face has either 'multiple' or 'huge' sweet spots that will lead to longer straighter drives. In my opinion this is not strictly true due to the shape of the driver face. In the image below you will notice how the face has a radius on it, this can vary depending on the model or manufacturer but in general not by very much. It's this radius on the face that makes it so important to strike the driver correctly, in fact it's the shape of the face that gives us the Gear Effect that is found on drivers, fairway woods and hybrids. Gear Effect is there to help us with slightly off centre strikes. For a right handed golfer a ball struck slightly towards the toe of the driver will result in the ball curving right to left in flight. Strike the ball towards the heel of the club and the ball will curve to the right. Think of it like this, a heel strike on a driver with no Gear Effect will fly left whereas a driver that has a radius on the face will curve the ball back to the right - hopefully making the shot less damaging. This is true even if face impact is tested on a

swing robot, which has one of the most repeatable swings on the planet (apart from a customer who

once told me they had never missed a fairway in their life!) - an off centre hit will impart spin on

the ball even if the swing was perfect. An interesting element of this is that so many golfers who slice or hook the ball will instantly look at the path (direction the head is swinging at impact) in order to ‘fix’ their problem, when it could actually be as simple as to where the ball is being struck on the face.

f you slice the ball fundamentally you are swinging the clubface across the ball and the Iclubface is open, I am demonstrating this in Pictures 1 and 2.

So let’s change our set up circumstances to change this. Firstly draw the right foot back (right handed player) as I am doing in Picture 3. This will help the path. Secondly strengthen your grip as I am doing in Picture 4, as I look down I can see at least 3 knuckles on

my top hand, I am allowing my bottom hand to move under the club. By changing the grip it will help the clubface close through impact Picture 5. Why not join me next spring in the sun to improve your game, I have only 1 place left at Fuerteventura, but two more weeks available soon at Vila Sol and Penina, for details give me a call on 07801 428174 or email garypikegolfacademy@btinternet.com.

JOHN DAY TROPHY SEMI-FINAL STOKE BY NAYLAND v BENTON HALL PLAYED AT BURNHAM-ON-CROUCH GOLF CLUB

The team at Burnham and Malcolm Norton, the hero of the play-off.

he weather was in dry and sunny as the nine true men of Stoke took on Benton Hall in T the semi-final of the coveted John Day Trophy. The course was in fine form, there was a fair bit of run on the fairways and the greens were true. The Stoke team were giving from 1 to 4 shots on seven matches so they knew they were in for a tough game. The match was always in the balance ebbing and flowing just like the river Crouch which was visible from most parts of the course. It wasn’t all plain sailing and while Bob Filer and Adrian Cherry sailed in with wins of 6&4 and 5&4 respectively the remaining matches tacked and turned right up to the 18th.The match ended tied at 4 ½ - 4 ½ and that brought on a sudden death playoff.

Everyone processed up the fairway where Malcolm played a lovely shot onto the green only to see it run halfway up a bank. His opponent followed but the shot was weak and nearly rolled into a pond, ending up just on the lip of the hazard. His chip from there was fair but pulled to the left. Malcolm’s putt from the bank was exquisite and was nearly holed. It was nearly over and after his opponent missed his putt leaving it six inches short. Malcolm then holed his to the applause and delight of the massed banks of the Stoke by Nayland supporting crowd. The final will be on September 11th at Three Rivers golf club against Burnham on Crouch who beat Castle Point of Canvey Island after two sudden death play off holes.

TRAINING ON THE GOLF COURSE f you think about other sports you would do a of your training on the arena that you play Ion.bulk But in golf we often do our training in a very different area such as the driving range. The driving range is a great place to work on your swing and that is important part of training. But, training on the course is very important as well and you don't see that happening enough. You have to deal with un predictability of the game and so you can be prepared for whatever that the game can through at you. Try these games for 9 holes as a training session on the course. IRONS ONLY FROM THE TEE – When you only hit irons from the tee you will have to pay more attention to your course management and you will have some longer shots into the greens. This will make your normal game seem easier and you may be surprised on what your score MIDDLE OF THE GREEN – The aim of the game is to forget about the flag and just aim for

the middle of the green. If you can hit more greens in regulation it will impact your scores. You may find that you manage your game better and give yourself more margin for error. When you have done the games reflect on them and see what you can take from them into your normal game.

JUBILEE CUP SEMI-FINAL MATCH STOKE BY NAYLAND v WOOLSTON MANOR PLAYED AT HARWICH & DOVERCOURT GC (NEUTRAL VENUE)

he Jubilee Cup team from Stoke by Nayland entered this match knowing, based on T previous season results, this would be their toughest test in 3 years and that’s just how it turned out going all the way. Kevan Priestland opened the afternoon up, playing consistently all the way through. His opponent had won all his previous games and it took a 15 ft putt from Kevin on the last to grab a half. All the drama came in the 2nd match with Trevor Brace going 6 down after 6. However anyone who knows Trev will know if anyone can come back from this it is him, he played the last 11 holes one over par gross to win 2 & 1 man of the match. Nigel Byham came in at very short notice for his first match of the season again playing another unbeaten player. After a great drive on first he never put a foot wrong and with his wife Mandy, acting as caddie by his side romped to a 4 & 3 victory. Another late call up Mike Moore, played superb all the way round and was 2 up after 7, but his opponent was very good and gradually came

through to win. Eric Fisher was fifth out and had the daunting task of playing the No 1 order of merit player. No one told Eric the script and he absolutely smashed him 5 & 3 what a win. Last of the single matches to play was Luke Bennett and after a few wild shots settled well into the match but eventually went down 3 & 2. After the 6 singles the team was leading 3½ 2½ so the team needed another 1½ from the much changed pairs to go through to the final. Keith and Maj battled from 2 down at 14 to all square at 16 and even though Maj hit two cracking approaches on 17 and 18 this high quality match was halved. Our only unchanged, unbeaten pairing Gilby and Norman fought bravely but having gone behind early could never recover and lost 5 & 3. With the match now 4 points each it all hinged on the final match of Steve Martin and debut man Adrian Cherry. Adrian rose to the challenge and with being solid off the tee and short game to match, this super pairing that won the match 3 & 2 and took us into our 3rd semi-final in 3 years.

Bill then proceeded with the awards.

UNLUCKY LADIES AT FORRESTER PARK t Forrester Park Golf Club on August 15 the Ladies Section took on the Veterans in A the annual “Ball and Chain” competition. Seven groups of four competed for the coveted trophy and after having held on to it for a number of years the ladies were finally beaten by the Veterans. It was a very close run thing and here Judy Podd can be seen “reluctantly” giving the trophy to Ian Smith. Of course the morning was completed by a lovely Forrester Park lunch. Still there’s always next year to win back the trophy. - 41 -

Match Report

COUNTY SQUAD v MIDDLESEX Chelmsford Golf Club – Sunday 30th June 2019

bright sunny Sunday morning, and the 3rd League match of the season saw Middlesex the visitors to home course Chelmsford. After the defeat to BB&O at Frilford Heath last time A out, a convincing win for the home side was required to see any chance of defending our title as league champions from last year. With 5 of the 8 Essex players coming from the Chelmsford club, home advantage should play a big part. The morning foursomes justified this selection with only the Meads/McQueen pairing not winning their match but gaining a deserved half. Score at Lunch 3.5 to 0.5 to Essex and sights firmly set on a home win. In the afternoon the first game had County Champion Brandon Meads up against a young Nya Frazer-Lawrence. Against the form book, Brandon was 5 down at the turn with Nya 5 under par, form which he continued to close the match out 6&5 with an eagle and two more birdies to add to his tally. Game 2 and Arron Edwards-Hill also struggling against Ross Dickson being 3 down with 4 to play. Despite pulling back the deficit another Essex loss on the 18th Green. Perhaps a Middlesex fight back? However, with wins from Ricky Lee, Captain Andy May, Callum Pipe and halves from Michael Gilbert and Ben Humphrey a 5/3 singles result was won. Final overall score of 8.5 to 3.5 Our thanks once again to hosts Chelmsford for a beautifully prepared course and excellent hospitality. Final match away to Hertfordshire at Letchworth in 4 weeks’ time where a win is paramount.

South East League Match

UNDER 16’S ESSEX v SUFFOLK v NORFOLK The Warren Golf Club – 6th July 2019 ssex entertained Suffolk and Norfolk in the 2nd of our 3 league matches, at The Warren Golf Club. With a recent dry spell of weather, the course would prove to be a stern test with hard E running fairways and firm greens. Essex got off to a stuttering start with some indifferent shots off the first tee, but perhaps with the advantage of course knowledge Essex began to forge ahead in several matches. With a strength in depth in the handicaps of the players, particularly in matches 5,6,7 and 8, the Essex team were in a good position after 9 holes. As the matches began to drawn to a conclusion Essex were in command against Norfolk and eventually ran out 7-1 winners. Suffolk however were making a stronger challenge winning the 1st match out and were looking handy in several others. However, the Essex team dug deep over the closing holes and eventually won 5-3. This puts Essex top of the league with 1 match to go and virtually assured of a place in the south east final in September.

COUNTY SENIORS TEAM AT NATIONAL QUALIFIER n 16/17th July the South Eastern Group staged the National 6-man qualifying event at the Sussex National golf resort. OTheEast event and practice day were blessed with magnificent weather in this beautiful and testing setting. - 44 -

Essex County News Email: office@essexgolfunion.org

www.essexgolfunion.org

The course was unforgiving, the rough long and the greens concealed many unseen slopes making scoring very difficult. Day 1 saw us lead out by Mark Stones who returned a 1 under par round of 71, next out was Ian Moore our County Champion but his round of 78, although respectable, was unlikely to challenge the leaders. Steve Rooney came in with a very steady round of 73 which gave us fresh hope, but Michael Partridge 81, Chris Bellamy 87 and Mark Whiten 88 left us hoping for better things on the Wednesday. We started early on day 2 and before long Mark Stones had posted a 73 for level par which was to be the 2nd lowest score of the tournament. Ian Moore finished with 75 which was very respectable scoring, Steve Rooney’s 77 was also pretty good, given that the SSS was 4 over for the day. Michael Partridge had a marginally better second round, submitting an 80, and Chris Bellamy 82 and Mark Whiten 82 also both improved on their first round scores. Scoring had been tough over the two days and Essex finished in 4th position, all be it 27 shots behind the winning County, Sussex. Their five best scores amounted to an impressive 750. All the players commented on how unforgiving the course had played, at any time they could make a simple mistake which would end up costing them 2 or 3 shots.

UNDER 12’S CHAMPIONSHIP AND BRIAN FULLER TROPHY Rivenhall Oaks Golf Club – Thursday 25th July beautifully sunny day at Rivenhall Oaks saw temperatures hit an allA time high. Registered as the hottest day on record, temperatures proved too great for some with two players being forced to retire due to the heat. Rivenhall Oaks welcomed a field of 24 under twelve-year olds battling it out to become Essex’s Under 12 Champion. There was some fabulous golf on show scoring below their handicaps despite extremely hot conditions. When Clacton’s Milo Locke (Hcp22) and Romford’s Zoe McLeanTattan (Hcp14) returned with nett 67’s, they looked to be in with a fighting chance for the Brian Fuller Trophy. In the end they were tied 4th as Wanstead’s Joshua Nanson (Hcp33) and Lawson Bailey (Hcp28) from Bentley both returned nett 65’s to share second place. Then the score of the day from Callum Moore of Playgolf Colchester, a nett 60 off a handicap of 29 was more than enough to win the Brian Fuller Trophy by 5 shots. The Scratch competition was for the Under 12 Championship and this year there was a clear favourite if handicaps were to be the guide. Charlie Croker of Epping Golf Club did not faulter in his round of 75 winning by a margin of 7 shots from his club and team mate (Continued on the next page). - 45 -

BOYS CHAMPIONSHIP Braintree Golf Club – Wednesday 31st July 2019

T

he 2019 Boys Championship was hosted by Braintree Golf Club. With Rain, thunder and lightning forecasted at some stage through the day, klaxons were never far away from the officials. However, after a heavy downpour about an hour after everyone had made their way out onto the course, the 20-minute spell came to a halt and although the wind picked up for the morning round, the sun came out and the conditions throughout the day remained pleasant, with the Boys under 16 and under 18 Championships at stake. The morning round is always used as a qualifier for The Justin Rose Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championship hosted by Quinta do Lago, Portugal. This year, last years winner, Josh Gray (Garon Park) made an impressive start to his title defence, which, with the mixed weather conditions was a very good round of level par 70. This means Josh qualifies for the National Leader board for The Telegraph Vitality Junior Golf Championship which we wish him all the very best of luck with qualifying for the finals. William Horne (Thorndon Park) was next best in the morning with a one over par 71. Then there were three on two over par 72, Chelmsford’s Carter Rowe, Clacton’s Jake Wells & Garon Park’s William Dove. Two other noticeable scores were Timmy Moncur’s (West Essex) 76 & Harvey Sullivan’s (Chelmsford) 74. The afternoon proved to be a fantastic close to the championship with several players in contention with the afternoon conditions presenting a very scoreable course. William Dove’s afternoon round of 76 meant he finished 7th on 148 (+8). Josh Gray could only manage a 77 in the afternoon which meant his total of 147 (+7) was good enough for 6th. William Horne - 46 -

had 75 which matched Jakes Wells’ total of 146 finishing tied 4th. Two shots better on 144 (+4) was Timmy Moncur’s valiant afternoon effort who shot a two under par 68 finishing in third place. The consistency of Carter Rowe shooting 72 & 71 finishing on (+3) looked to be just about good enough to win, that was until Harvey Sullivan returned one of the two under par rounds of the day finishing with a 69 (-1). This meant that Harvey and Carter were tied after 36 holes on 143 (+3). The Essex Boys Championship is one of the two events that we run in the year that relies on a playoff if there is a tie. A large crowd of approximately 80 spectators followed the two players and their newly appointed caddies to the 16th tee for the playoff. Club team mates Carter and Harvey parred the short par 4 and made their way to the seventeenth. Both hit good approaches to the par 4 17th, Harvey just running onto the fringe of the green some 15 feet from the hole. Carter was more centrally positioned with a birdie opportunity from around 8 feet. Harvey putted up and narrowly missed his three and left the door open for Carter to win. Carter stepped up and coolly rolled in his birdie effort claiming the title in terrific fashion. A round of applause followed from the large crowd and handshakes were exchanged before the players embraced showing maturity and equal respect for one another. The Under 16 Championship which is also run on the same day saw William Horne’s impressive total of 146 (+6) claim the trophy. Congratulations to William. Congratulations to both playoff players Harvey & Carter from Chelmsford as they also picked up the Boys Club Team Championship with an impressive total of just 6 over par 286. A special thank you to Braintree Golf Club and their members for their hospitality, also to Braintree Golf Club Captain Graham Brown for his kind words and presenting the prizes to the juniors (From L to R) Brian Collins, President Essex Golf Union, Harvey Sullivan alongside Brian Collins, Essex (Chelmsford), Carter Rowe (Chelmsford), William Horne (Thorndon Park), Graham Brown (Braintree GC Captain) Golf Union’s President. - 47 -

SKEVINGTON SALVER & BOB BAGSHAW TROPHY Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club – Saturday August 3rd 2019

E

ssex Under 16s travelled a day early for a course practice round at Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club, a superb links course. After an overnight stay at local hotel, Essex arrived at the course bright and early for the 27hole stroke play event against Suffolk, Norfolk and Bedfordshire for the Skevington Salver and the team playing for the Bob Bagshaw Trophy. The format for the team event is the best 3 scratch scores and the best 3 handicap scores to count. Although you can't win it in the morning round, Essex needed to get off to a good start on the 9-hole Kings Fleet course. William Horne started with an excellent -1 par 34, also good 9’s by Adam Crawley and Bobby Rothery-Archer put Essex in a good position. However, some bad club selection and course management let the later Essex players down, so the positions at lunch were too close to call. The afternoon round would be tough with the early holes playing down wind, but holes 7,8,9,10,11 and 12 would be much more challenging. With several players being under par early on, signs were looking good but the 8th caught a few out and the 10th even more, inflicting some big numbers and ruining cards. Will Horne continued his good form from the morning and returned a +2 over par score for 27 holes, very good as the blustery conditions made scoring difficult. After a long day and a very long wait for the result. Will Horne won the Skevington Salver and Essex just missed out coming a narrow 2nd to Norfolk whose nett scoring players turned the match around after Essex had the lead in the scratch section. Our thanks to the Suffolk Golf Union and Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club for hosting the event and giving the boys some valuable experience on a fine course. - 48 -

osfield Lake Golf Club saw the return of The Boys Foursomes Championship, 27 pairs took part from Clubs around the county competing for the junior equivalent of the Essex foursomes Championship. A Scratch Strokeplay Championship which is played over 36 holes. The Weather was forecast to turn wet as the day went on, however we fortunately managed to avoid any kind of downfall despite reports it was falling in neighbouring towns. As the day went on, the weather remained dry but there were spells which saw winds pick up, making both rounds tricky and keeping the course well protected from any really good scores. Despite the winds, there were still some fine attempts from various teams in building a case for this year’s championship. Clacton’s Wilf Elliott & Harvey Bell returned a 78 (+6) tied with Boyce Hill’s Harry Wood & Kieran Gravely. Warley Park’s Max Briggs & William Bailey were one better carding a morning score of 77 and the best nett score of the day with a net 68 (-4). Finally, last year’s winner William Dove, partnered with a new team mate in Bobby Rothery-Archer came in stealing the morning glory with a fabulous gross 73. Dropping just one shot with a total of seven birdies. After a double bogey on their first hole, they played the remaining 17 holes in one under par, magnificent golf in the circumstances. The afternoon scores were higher with the winds picking up making club selection very difficult. Only three teams managed to break 80. Warley Park’s Duo of Max and William dropped to fourth position overall after carding their afternoon score of 83. Harry Wood & Kieran Gravely matched their morning score of 78 for a 156 total which - 50 -

took 3rd position. Harvey Bell & Wilf Elliott managed a 75 in the afternoon which was a fantastic effort as it was the lowest afternoon score but it meant they finished on 153, just 3 shots shy of the winning score by defending champion William Dove and his new partner Bobby Rothery-Archer with rounds of 73 & 77 for a total 150. Congratulations William, Bobby and Garon Park for defending the title. We thank our fantastic hosts, Gosfield Lake Golf Club, their staff and members for once again hosting this event and providing their usual superb hospitality.

ESSEX U18 v MIDDLESEX v BB&O Sudbury Golf Club – Sunday 11th August 2019 n a very windy day the County under 18 team played their final league match of the O season at Sudbury Golf Club, Middlesex. Regrettably the wind strength pretty much dictated that low scores on this Harry Colt par 70 design would be a premium. Whilst BB&O were lacking a few of their big guns, including new England’s Men’s Champion Conor Gough such is their strength in depth, that they still had sufficient fire power to cruise to a win. For Essex Teddy Papple won both his matches with Will Horne and Jake Wells also performing creditably, emerging undefeated on the day each with one win and a halved match. Alex Maplesden made short work of his Middlesex opponent, but a bout of illness prevented completion of his match with BB&O. As always Middlesex Golf Union in conjunction with Sudbury Golf Club were excellent hosts and our thanks go to them for use of their excellent facilitates, the catering and organisation of this event. Overall the results this season have been disappointing, more than Teddy Papple. anything spotlighting the importance of investing coaching time in course management and shot selection. On the plus side we have fielded a young inexperienced side with many of our players able to return for a second bite next year, hopefully a year older and a year wiser.

he Under 14 Championship returned once again played to Maylands Golf Club. The course was in good condition and a field of 47 players took part. The Under 14’s Championship is played as a gross score stroke play competition, All the winners in both competitions. and the Fred Stillwell trophy is presented for the best nett score. The field of 47 started at 9am and this year’s favourite was a young man by the name of Harley Smith, a plus one handicapper from The Rayleigh Club. Finn Carrick from Bentley returned with a gross score of 74 which was three better than his next competitors on 77, Pierce Mosley (Epping) & Max Porteous (Warley Park). What made Finn’s score so good was that he was a 12 handicap, resulting in a nett 62. This was 4 shots better than Stockbrook Manor’s Luke Pearson who returned a nett 66 taking second place in the Fred Stillwell Trophy. Edward Linley of Romford was third with a net 68. So Finn’s nett 62 won the Fred Stillwell Trophy but unfortunately his amazing score was just pipped by the favourite Harley Smith. His card included 4 bogeys and 2 birdies resulting in a two over par 73, good enough for this year’s championship and is now crowned the Under 14 Champion 2019. Congratulations Harley! Our thanks go to Maylands Golf Club, Maylands Golf Club staff and their members for hosting the event and offering their course for the day. We would also like to thank Steve Lowly, Captain of Maylands Golf Club. Congratulations to all those who took part and confirmed the future of Essex golf looks very promising indeed.

U16 BOYS TRIANGULAR MATCH v SUFFOLK AND NORFOLK Newton Green Golf Club – Sunday 17th August 2019 fter heavy overnight rain a drying wind presented the A Newton Green course in excellent condition. This was the 3rd triangular match between the teams this season and with Essex winning both the previous matches albeit narrowly a win against either Suffolk or Norfolk would secure Essex qualification to the National final to be held at Aldeburgh GC in late September. With a strong side Essex made the ideal start with the U16s at Newton Green top three Will Horne, Lewis Wright and Teddy Papple building early leads that they were never to relinquish as they all won both of their matches with holes to spare. Essex never looked back from this start and the rest of the matches followed a similar pattern so that by the end of the day Essex comfortably qualified for Aldeburgh. The rest of the team were Wilf Elliott,Tom Atkinson, Sam Gemmell, Adam Crawley and Harvey Bell. The final score in this fixture being successful wins for Essex, 7/1 v Suffolk and 8/0 v Norfolk. The boys played excellent golf on a tricky, well presented course with very good greens. Our thanks go to Newton Green GC for making everyone feel so welcome and hosting a good days golf.

South East Group Seniors League – North

BEDFORDSHIRE SENIORS v ESSEX SENIORS Bedfordshire Golf Club – 23rd August 2019 ssex won a hard fought and tight match against Bedfordshire who are getting stronger with every ETheyear that passes. sunny late August day saw us drawn on a relatively new course (opened in 2000) but founded in1891. Bedfordshire Golf Club moved to their new home due to the previous course at Biddenden being required for road alterations. The new course proved a tricky and a long test of golf and in no small way was partly responsible for the closeness of the game, specifically as most of the Bedfordshire team were Members there. Essex got off to a sound start with the reliable duo of Mark Stones and Ian Moore both winning 2 up with 1 hole left to play, however our lead was short lived as Chris Bellamy and Steve Rooney both lost. Of the remaining 6 games 5 went down the last. Michael Partridge came away with a half, John Wright was 1 up going down 18 and managed a half and a valuable win, however, this was cancelled out in the next match by Mark Whiten who lost the 18th to lose his match. Jeff Mathewson won down the 18th and Chris Aukett finished his match on the 17th Green to secure the win and with Rob Douglas winning 1 up we finished with a flattering result which hardly portrayed how close the match really was.Three wins from our first three league matches. Our final league match is at Boyce Hill against Hertfordshire on Monday 2nd September and this will decide the league winners and who goes forward to play the winners of the Southern league in the final in October. !""!#$%&'($)*+&*$ $

Golf Pride Unveils Tour Wrap MicroSuede Grip

olf Pride is expanding its popular Tour Wrap range of grips with the launch of the new G high-performance Tour Wrap MicroSuede. The latest extension to the Tour Wrap series is engineered with an additive finishing process that produces a brushed surface finish, delivering both a uniquely soft feel and added traction. The new wrap grip design provides a differentiated feel from that of a traditional wrapped grip with a new and unique surface finish. With the new MicroSuede, the added traction delivers a high-performance wrap design for players to more effectively manage moisture in higher humidity areas or wet conditions. “The Tour Wrap franchise has an incredibly loyal following,” said Bruce Miller, product manager, Golf Pride. “This new MicroSuede technology feels very different than anything else in the family. While the Tour Wrap 2G is renowned for delivering high tack, the new Tour Wrap MicroSuede provides incredibly soft traction. It instantly conveys confidence, while providing a unique feel, different than any other wrap style grip we have made.” The Tour Wrap MicroSuede will be available in both standard and midsize, in a smoke grey colour. It will be available at retail from September.

waterproof jacket. Feedback from tour players and amateur golfers highlighted a demand for a garment that provided full waterproof protection with all the comfort and versatility of a mid-layer. Thus, FJ’s innovative new waterproof pullover, HydroKnit was born. The HydroKnit pullover (pictured right) is an ideal garment for golfers who want protection from the elements, with the added comfort and versatility benefits of a pullover. It marries the attributes of a conventional woven waterproof jacket with the comfort, stretch and soft feel of a knit garment for ultimate versatility. Included among its features and benefits are a 15,000m waterproof rating; 15,000g/sqm moisture permeability rating; raglan sleeve construction; three-layer bonded knit fabric; DWR finish applied to bead water away; elastic waistband and adjustable cuffs for perfect fit; inside zip pocket for phone/scorecard; three-year waterproof guarantee. Numerous professionals have now stated it’s the only waterproof they will carry as it’s the perfect garment for versatility while still offering warmth and protection from wind and rain. Paul O’Hagan, FJ’s European Marketing Manager, said: “FootJoy is committed to producing innovative and stylish performance golf apparel, which is none more apparent in the creation of HydroKnit. We’ve listened to the feedback from the players on tour and club golfers alike, to create a hybrid product that has the comfort and versatility of a mid-layer whilst being 100 percent waterproof.”

Srixon Rolls Out Update of AD333 Ball

rixon has unveiled details of the ninth generation of its AD333 golf ball, which will S be available at retail in the UK from September 6. Available in Pure White and Tour Yellow, and priced at £24 per dozen, the latest version of its best-selling ball features an all-new FastLayer Core, which starts soft in the centre and gradually becomes firmer around its outer edge. FastLayer

helps generate maximum distance without sacrificing feel at impact, and works in tandem with the ball’s 338 speed dimple pattern, which reduces drag for a more penetrating ball flight, to help deliver more distance off the tee. The updated AD333 also features Srixon’s Spin Skin technology with Slide-Ring Material, a urethane compound that coats the cover and dramatically increases friction at impact for more stopping power on every shot. “The new AD333 maintains and builds on the high-quality performance that consumers throughout Europe have come to expect from our leading two-piece golf ball,” said Leslie Hepsworth, UK & Ireland President at Srixon Sports Europe. “Featuring a number of new technologies, including a new FastLayer Core and Spin Skin with SeRM, our designers have done an amazing job to deliver a ninth generation AD333 that promises even more ball speed and distance.” www.srixon.co.uk

WHAT COACHING AT THE MAJORS MEANS

arah Bennet PGA Fellow Professional has been selected this year by the PGA and S Committees, to Coach at the specific SwingZones for members of the public. “I was delighted to have been provided with the opportunity to attend The Open at Portrush, which was the most breath taking venue and www.sarahbennettgolf.co.uk

experience. Every 15 minute slot for the 9 hours by the 10 coaches was filled by 11am. I coached a wide variety of golfers, the furthest travelled was a gentleman from New Zealand. I met up with young players at Woburn in August, who I coached the previous year at the Women’s British Open at Royal Lytham. It was lovely to welcome 10 Essex Girls County Squad players along with three members of my previous U18 East Regional England Squad players too. I am looking forward to my last event this year, the Solheim Cup, where I will be taking 16 of my Golfing Girls for the week, an opportunity for a free 15 minute lesson girls! It is a very different approach to coaching, as the observation and questioning has to be rapid and efficient to provide an effective swing change which the client can “feel” rather than see. The 15 minute session also concludes with a written summary. It is refreshing to see and hear feedback as to the effectiveness of the sessions, my focal point is solely on one area which is something I reinforce with the golfer.

he fourth meeting of the season took place at Colchester Golf Club. The course was T in great condition especially the greens. Over 50 ladies played on the day in warm sunshine. Some of the ladies found the course tricky in parts and some found the warm temperatures a little too much. Nevertheless, the prizes were fiercely contested with four pairs all finishing with 40 points. In 4th place were Barbara Ingram (West Essex) & Mary Graham (Benton Hall). 3rd place went to Pennie Lipscomb (The Warren) & Judy Podd (Forrester Park). In 2nd place were Joanna Kurn (The Rayleigh Club) & Christine Hunt (West Essex). The overall winners of the day picking up the Friendship Salver were Pam Stevens (Gosfield) & Chris Gordon (Orsett). Our grateful thanks to Colchester Golf Club for

hosting this event, to all the staff on the day who were really helpful, to Pat Kettle who stood in for the Colchester Lady Captain, and to both Pat and Sheila Dornan who checked the cards and computed the results. A really lovely day. Earlier in the month the Ida Bunting competition reached its conclusion. The semi finals between Julia Brett ( West Essex) & Sue Knowles ( Thorpe Hall) and Pat Flynn (The Rayleigh Club) & Sharon Warrington ( Three Rivers) took place at Orsett Golf Club. Sue and Sharon won their matches and proceeded to the finals a week later at The Rayleigh Club. Both ladies played some great golf but Sharon was on top form and clinched the match at the 13th hole. Lady President Dot Greaves presented Sue with a memento for her excellent run in the competition and presented Sharon with a memento of her win and the Ida Bunting Memorial Trophy. Well done to everyone who took part in the competition and thanks to the host clubs and to Lynne Kirkham who refereed one of the semi finals. We look forward to receiving entries for next year’s knock out competition.

FULFILLING A FRIENDS WISH TO FUND CANCER RESEARCH woman whose friend died from a rare type of cancer has vowed to carry out her wish to A fund research into the condition. Wendy Lodder, an England Golf under 18 east region volunteer manager, was diagnosed with advanced thymic carcinoma in October 2016. Wendy was referred to the Cancer Centre at Guy’s where she had two major operations, and received chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment. In July last year, she held an event with her friend, Sarah Bennett, at the Three Rivers Golf and Country Club in Chelmsford, Essex, which raised £10,000 for research into thymic cancer. More than 100 people attended in purple – Wendy’s favourite colour sadly, three months later Wendy passed away, aged 52, without finding out how the money would be spent. Sarah, 50, a PGA Fellow Professional and head coach at Three Rivers, said: “Wendy knew that the research wasn’t going to benefit her but she wanted her legacy to help other people, so I’m determined to carry out her wish.

Sarah won the prestigious PGA Toby Sunderland Award for her charity work last year. She will host another golf event at the Three Rivers Golf and Country Club.

All individual player and pairs results are also showcased on the Order of Merit tables within our website, and these become crucial weeks and months – clearly the clubs progressing, give additional opportunity for players to achieve more points! For the singles a great performance from Steve Rattray from Crondon Park sees him top the chart currently, just head of Woolston Manor’s Robert Lawrence. However, as neither club is a Semi-Finalist, the way could be paved for Top 10 standing players from Harwich, Burnham and Playgolf who can both gather a further two points (maximum) if they get through to the Final. A similar position within the Doubles also. Last months’ leaders from Woolston Manor (Colin MacFarlane and Ryan Chapman) maintain their position with a halved match in the Quarter Finals, but a half for Harwich’s Nigel Carpenter and Rod Noakes see them climb the leaderboard, and position themselves for further progress in the next round. Plus very much in contention are their team mates Jamie Eades and Liam Duly, and very much in reach for Stoke by Naylands Darren Russell also. Again, for those clubs who are not progressing, team bragging rights can still be achieved within your club with our Team Order of Merit standings. As a revised view, please see below the great example from Crondon Golf Club. These can be found via the dropdown menu on our homepage, choosing Order of Merit Results, and clicking “In Club order” – alternatively, direct link is also below: www.jubileecup.com/ matches2019/playhtml.htm

You can then scroll down to find your own clubs results. A reminder to all clubs – Captains, Organisers and players: it is imperative, that playing handicaps are fully up to date and represents any club results (so selfcut if necessary) – the impact to your club will be immediate disqualification in the play-off phases as per our rules 1.3 At the knock-out stages penalty will be disqualification from the competition.

To reiterate, everything you need to successfully play your matches is on our website, including full contact details for the opposition under “Competing Clubs,” and key information in terms of the Rules of the 2019 competition. www.jubileecup.com/matches2019/rules2019.pdf

The Jubilee Committee are always looking for volunteers to help us out – please contact myself or one of the Committee at the Contact details on our Homepage (top-right). www.jubileecup.com
