BLUE SKIES
B LU E S K I E S A R E T H E O N LY “ B LU E S , YO U W I L L S E E I N 2017. Fall collections are riddled with the colour of blue from the dark midnight blue of the ocean at night to the aquamarine seen during the day. The directional stars for the year 2017 have also predicted this colour in the fashion forecast. These tones are lighting up the Fall-2017 fashion runways with designers using these beautiful colours. Be sure to fill your wardrobe with an array of blues to help usher in helpful water energies that influence communication skills. Wearing blue gives a sense of quietness, coolness comfort and cheerfulness. Blue is a colour or reverie, but it is also a colour of seriousness. It helps regulate the nervous system and it has a calming property. Blue can help lower blood pressure and pulse. It can also regulate metabolism. However, blue is not a suitable colour for a person who suffers from anxiety or depression because it can increase the severity of these symptoms. If you have an abundance of the water energy, be sure to keep balance by wearing more earth oriented clothing. You will want to find warm taupe colours as well as earthy browns that will aid in creating balance you suffer from too much of the water element.

COLOR & EMOTION
We have created the simple concept of a personal ID. The personal ID does not represent citizens of a country, but they are rather the number codes that derive precisely from the year, month, day, hour and minute of our births, and take into account the longitude and latitude of the birth place, as well as the true solar time. There are a total of nine numbers. The numbers 0 and 5 are repetitive. These two numbers are our main elemental attributes. Through these nine numbers, we can balance the five elemental energies that we need. The same IDs are also attached to all products. Therefore, you can buy the products to match with your elemental requirements.

Leather Skirt
With the killer attitude in the bad-girl look that Charlie had in Top Gun, with her sexy allure and powerful air she was one to be reckoned with. Her role was envied by all with her feminism and strength all wrAPPed up in her domineer and choice in powerful yet stylish clothes. She became every 80’s girl idol, an inspiration to strong influential woman. For her look, find a black leather skirt (zipper accents are a plus), add a white t-shirt for that pop. The contrast of the shirt and skirt will be stunning. A black blazer will tie your outfit together, with an authoritative feel. Finish off this bad-gal outfit with black pumps and you will have the perfect outfit to take over the world. Walk into any room with this outfit and you will be sure to have all eyes on you and your confident swagger. Fashionable, strong and yet still feminine.

In the Body Source Code book, the 10 Heavenly Stems and 12 Earthly Branches are characteristics used to calculate time periods in the Chinese calendar. The heavenly stems were created to represent days. The earthly branches were created to represent months. One symbol from each set creates a pair that characterizes our energy at our particular time of birth. These pairs constitute our Body Source Code, which reveals our personality. Knowing and utilizing our talents gives us direction. Identifying our innate strengths and weaknesses will help guide us daily in making decisions by revealing not only our emotions, but the emotions in our environment as well.

9-DIGIT ID NUMBER In fashion
“
Everything you wear affects your life no matter how subtle it may be. The garments that you gravitate towards are chosen for a reason. They correlate to the five elemental energy levels that you produce and can either work to hinder or grow those energies. Every piece of clothing has a specific combination of energies that will work with your elemental energy. When you consider what elemental energy you produce, while also considering how every garment produces its own energy, you can affectively decide and introduce positive energies for your days ahead. Using the Color & Emotion APP, you can de-code what energies your garments produce and how compatible they are for you.

CORE CONCEPTS
109TM.com
A special 9-digit ID number system is used to sort and categorize individual garments, and is derived from the concepts of Zeus Sensor and Body Source Code. The 9 digit system is broken down in the same manner as a person’s Destiny Number. Each digit is associated with one of the Five Elements and a Yin or Yang polarity. Like the Body Source Code, these elements are assigned to the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches of the four pillars of year, month, day and hour. The comparison between your Body Source Code and the 9 digit ID number of a garment allows you to understand the compatibility between the personal energies you produce versus what you choose to wear. When considering these 9 digit ID numbers, we take into account what makes up the garment. An in-depth analysis is done, from the source of the materials used to the country of manufacturing. The generated codes are true representations of the energy levels. Every garment has two specific deities that represent the base elemental structure. It takes multiple ideas strung together to form a concept. The same is true in fashion. An item of clothing is made up of multiple inspirational minds and factors, therefore when devising these ID numbers, a combination of two deities are used, each representing a specific element. The combination of these deities produces the basis for the 9 digit ID number of each garment. This coat’s energy is comprised of the combination of Zeus and Hestia. Its 9 digit ID number is:

CORE CONCEPTS
EXPLANATION In this case it is the representation of Zeus who is the main god in this garment. Zeus sets the tone of the entire garment and the style and Color reflects that. Zeus = Yin Earth = 0
Year: Heavenly Stem.
1
Element of the 2nd God of the combination. Year: Earthly Branch.
0
Fabric code
To calculate this digit of the year stem we consider the element of the second god in the combination. Hestia = Yang Water = 1 Each type of fabric is associated with one of the 14 gods in Zeus Sensor, which are represented by the elements and their corresponding numbers. Wood = Zeus = Yin Earth = 0
Month: Heavenly Stem.
4
Month the garment was introduced. Month: Earthly Branch.
3
Yardage of materials used.
Using the 24 solar terms featured in the Zeus Sensor, we can pinpoint the elemental energies featured in the month the garment was released. September = Yin Metal = 4 The amount of fabric used (in yards) will directly affect the amount of energy in every garment. If there is more than 1 digit in the length, break down the number by adding together the individual digits (for example: 15 = 1+5 = 6). *3 yards - In this particular dress, the yardage used was 3 yards (single digit)
Day: Heavenly Stem.
0
5
1
Element of the 1st god in the combination.
Zeus = Yin Earth = 0
Day: Earthly Branch.
In this case, this garment was introduced in the year of 2015.
Year of the collection
2015 = 5 (using the last digit of the year)
Hour: Heavenly Stem.
The region of the world that the fabric originated from, represented by an element and its number.
Origin of the fabric
This garment is primarily made of wool crepe, originating from Northern Europe = Yang Water = 1 Hour: Earthly Branch.
3
To calculate this digit of the Day Stem, we consider the element of the first god in the combination.
Country of manufacturing
The region of the world that the garment was manufactured in, represented by an element and its number. Toronto, Canada = Yang Wood = 3

Energy can be rejuvenated through the use of naturalized crystals whose color and energy have been forged in the earth over many, many years. Their properties are created before they are cultivated. It has been scientifically proven that these natural crystals are charged with piezoelectricity, and can release eight million shock waves per second. Also, these natural crystals emit a strong magnetic field and unlimited amount of energy, so they can charge our cells with electromagnetic energy and increase our vitality.

CANCUN, MEXICO Yang Wood October avg high: 88F/31C October avg low: 75F/24C October avg precipitation: 8.7"/21.8cm
October is officially part of the wet season in Cancun, but if you know about tropical “wet seasons then you know that rain tends to come in short bursts and sometimes that happens overnight. In other words, it will be warm and dry for at least 23 hours of each day in October, yet hotel rates are at their yearly lows because kids are back in school and few people are looking for sunshine trips this month. Not only can you get a cheap flight into Cancun from most anywhere in October, but resorts charge around half what they were charging only a few months earlier. There are well over 1,000 hotels in this large area, which also includes Playa del Carmen and the nearby island of Cozumel just to the south. Even the all-inclusive resorts are unusually cheap in October, so if you mainly want to relax on a warm beach on your holiday, Cancun could be an ideal and cheap choice.

As spring arrives in Buenos Aires the long season of pleasant weather kicks in, making this a particular bargain for most of the year. There could be a bit of rain to contend with, but BA is more of an indoor city anyway so there will always be plenty of places to pop in for some quick shelter. Daytime temperatures, especially toward the end of the month, are usually glorious. This city has seen more than its fair share of inflation in recent years, but the currency has also been dropping so it remains a fantastic deal for almost all foreigners. Food and drink deals are easy to find, as are more upscale places that will still be good bargains by international standards. Hotels aren’t at their cheapest in October, but not yet at peak season rates either.

While it can get a bit cool toward the end of October in Istanbul, it’s one of the best months to visit the city in general. It’s still warm enough during the way but never sizzling, and rain isn’t much of an issue either. Best of all, the massive summer crowds have thinned out quite a bit and hotel prices have also eased off their summer peaks. Hotels still can be more expensive than you might think in Istanbul, so it pays to book something early if possible, or even look into the many hostels throughout the city. The most popular tourist districts have prices that compare to Madrid or Barcelona, but at least food can be found at bargain prices if you look around a bit.

October is probably the best single month of the year to visit Athens. The temperatures are quite nice all day and all night, and the massive summer crowds are long gone. This is usually a city that people are often anxious to be done with after 2 or 3 days hitting the main sites, but in October you might be tempted to linger a bit more. The high season for hotels ends at the end of September so some good deals can be found, even at some of the nicer places. Many people like to spend a few days in Athens on their way to or from one of the Greek resort islands, and October is the last month of the year you’ll be able to pull that off as well, as ferry service cuts back to almost zero by the time November arrives.

After a brutal summer October is an ideal time to visit Cairo, when daytime temperatures are quite pleasant just as the evening temperatures are. There’s also basically zero rain in October ever, so you can leave your umbrella at home. Better still, hotel prices in Cairo don’t really start climbing until December, so you’ll have your choice of really nice hotels at bargain off-season rates. LUCKY COLOR AND LIVING STYLE
In this book, we convert the elemental energies of the universe into numbers and Colors, making it easier for us to manipulate them to bring about balance and harmony in our living and working environments. Identifying the activation of magnetic energy fields that interact at different times and in different locations is the simple theory of Feng Shui. We believe that different magnetic energy fields, which generate electricity continuously, surround our environment. They affect the development of our physical structure. The strength of the signals transmitted by these different elemental energies will vary, just like the strength of the wifi signal that we receive will also vary from place to place. This book enables us to determine the Body Source Code of a building, so that we can match its suitability with ours. It also uses the creation, complement, and trade-off relationship cycles of the Five Elements to interpret “Feng Shui.

With upcoming nuptials why not choose the fall season to tie the knot? You will find that although summer weddings are more popular, fall weddings are equally as beneficial.
When it comes to vendors, DJ’s, Florists and wedding planners the fall season will also mean cheaper rates. During the slower months these vendors will most likely offer a discount of services. If your budget is something to keep in mind, having a fall wedding would benefit your wallet. For a Destination wedding the fall season also brings better resort rates. As the busy summer seasons wind down and less people travel to exotic destinations, this will mean a better deal and your wedding party.

The Zeus Sensor book is based on the ancient Chinese astrology system of Zi Wei Dou Shu. Its main component is the Life Chart, akin to a road map and/or weather forecast combined that helps you to discover virtually everything you need to know about yourself. The information is derived from over 100 points in the celestial sky known as stars and their locations during your exact moment of birth. As a result, the Zeus Sensor is a complex and detailed system of interpretation that allows us to view the blueprint of our lives by accurately describing our past, present, and future. PA S T This legend was born September 10, 1933 he worked as a German fashion designer, artist and photographer based out of Paris. He is still the head designer and creative director of CHANEL, the Italian fashion house of FENDI and started his own fashion label. He is famous around the world with his staple look, white hair, black glasses and high starched collars. At the start of his career he was hired as Pierre Balmain’s assistant after winning the coats category in a design competition. It was at this competition that he met another fellow designer, Yves Saint Laurent whom he continued to stay close friends with. After three years with Balmain’s Lagerfeld moved to work for Jean Patou where he designed two haute couture collections per year for five years. Throughout the years there have been many ups and downs that this designer has gone through , from bad reviews from his 1960 Spring collection which was ridiculed as “too short” to the public. For his late 1960 collection, he designed special little hats, pancake shaped circles of satin, which hung on the cheek. He called them “slaps in the face.” Karl’s collection was said to be well received but not ground-breaking. Lagerfeld began to freelance for French fashion house Chloé in 1964, at first designing a few pieces each season. As more and more pieces were incorporated, he soon designed the entire collection. From 1972, he collaborated with Italian fashion house Fendi, designing furs, clothing, and accessories.

His eccentric personality made him famous with the public and press, with his fast changing tastes and social life. It is this fast changing taste that made him famous with jumping from label to label. He continues to design and shock the fashion world with his words and fashion tastes that light the runway.

“The rings had to express something that concerns the heart and real feelings,” he says. “It has to be a symbol and a sign of a real wish of engagement. It has to be elegant but not bling-bling.”
His latest venture has been to design engagement rings that will be realised in the US, Canada, Australia and the UK. The collection will be debut fall 2016 and is geared towards the millennials. There are 3 designs the first is highlighted by pointed studs, the second will be more modern and geometric in shape and the third is inspired by the curves seen though architecture.

PIE RECIPES TEXT BY ALISON FOO
With each fall/autumn season comes the change of leaf colours, cozy sweaters, warm beverages, and, my favourite, pies. The following pie recipes are great for cooler weather and Thanksgiving celebrations (source: Cooking with Alison, www. cookingwithalison.com). To start, you’ll find a Sweet Potato Pie recipe, which my dinner guests always prefer over the traditional pumpkin pie. I’ve also shared my go-to apple Pie recipe. Where most pie crust recipes use butter or shortening, I challenge you to use home-rendered lard. It’s actually healthier than butter and gives the pastry a better texture. Finally, use your roast turkey leftovers to make savoury pies, like Chicken or Turkey Pot Pies.

SWEET POTATO PIE This recipe makes 2 x 9-inch pies. It was adapted from Tyler Florence. Note: Both the filling and the pie crust can be made separately a day in advance. Store them in the refrigerator until ready to bake and assemble. Keep in mind that the cold filling may need prolonged baking times to set.
Ingredients for the Filling: 2 pounds of sweet potatoes, for 1 1/2 cups puree 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter Pinch salt 3 large eggs 1/2 cup granulated white sugar 1 cup heavy whipping cream 3/4 tablespoon grated orange zest 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Ingredients for the Pastry: 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour, plus more for dusting 1 tablespoon granulated white sugar Pinch salt 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter that has been cut into small chunks and frozen 2 tablespoons ice water, plus more if needed 1 large egg white, lightly beaten

Instructions for Assembly and Baking: While the sweet potatoes are baking, make the pastry. In the bowl of a food processor fitted with a metal blade, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and frozen butter pieces. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. With the machine running, slowly pour in the ice water. Process until the dough can be pressed together and handled without being too wet or sticky. If the dough is too crumbly, turn the machine back on and add more ice water, 1 teaspoon at a time. Use your hands to gather the dough together in a disk shape. Wrap it in plastic wrap and then refrigerate it until chilled through, at least 1 hour. When you’re ready to roll the dough out, dust your rolling pin lightly with flour. Place the dough on a silpat (silicone) mat or a lightly dusted work surface. Roll the dough out into a 10-inch diameter circle with an even thickness. Add another light dusting of flour to your rolling pin as needed. Carefully transfer the dough to an 9-inch pie pan. A non-stick pie pan with a removable bottom is preferred. Use your hands and fingers to press the dough firmly into the pan, starting with the bottom and then working your way up the sides. Use a sharp knife to trim off the excess dough along the rim. Place a piece of parchment paper on top of the crust and fill it with dried beans or pie weights. Bake the pie crust in a preheated, 375 F oven until it sets, about 20 minutes. Remove the parchment paper and beans. Brush the bottom of the crust with the beaten egg white and set aside.
While the crust is cooking, make the filling. Peel the sweet potatoes and puree them in a food processor with 1/2 stick of butter and a pinch of salt. You will only need to use 1 1/2 cups of this puree. In a large bowl, use a whisk to beat the eggs and sugar until the sugar has melted. Add the sweet potato puree to the eggs and whisk well. Then stir in the cream, orange zest, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined. Place the pie shell on a baking sheet and pour the filling into the pie shell. Lower the oven temperature to 325 degrees F and then bake the pie until the middle is set but still jiggles slightly, about 40 minutes. Remove from the oven, place on a cooling rack, and allow it to cool completely.

APPLE PIE This recipe was adapted from Bob Blumer. Note that the pie crust can be made a day in advance.
Ingredients for the Crust: 1/4 cup cold, home-rendered lard from sodium-reduced bacon (or substitute with 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter that has been cut into cubes and frozen) 1 stick plus 1 tablespoon unsalted butter that has been cut into cubes and frozen 2 cups all-purpose flour pinch salt (if not using bacon fat) 7 – 9 tablespoons ice water
Ingredients for the Filling: 8 large McIntosh apples 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg 1/4 cup + 1/8 cup granulated white sugar 1/4 cup + 1/8 cup lightly packed light brown sugar 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon cornstarch 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened at room temperature + more for greasing 1 large egg whisked with 3 tablespoons milk, for egg wash
Instructions for Making the Crust: In the bowl of a food processor, mix together the flour and salt. Add the cold bacon fat and butter and pulse until the fat is the size of small peas. With the food processor running, add 4 tablespoons of ice water. Add more ice water as necessary, one tablespoon at a time, until a handful of dough comes together when squeezed. Do not overwork dough. You should still be able to see small pieces of butter in your dough. Form your dough into a flat disk, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate it until chilled through, at least 1 hour.
Instructions for Making the Filling: Peel, core and slice apples about 1/4 inch thick. In a large bowl, whisk together the cinnamon, nutmeg, white and brown sugars, flour, and cornstarch. Toss the apples in the mixture until well coated.

Instructions for Assembly and Baking: Set up an oven rack so that it is placed one setting below the highest slot. Place a pizza stone on that oven rack. Using the pizza stone gives you a beautifully crispy bottom crust. If you don’t have one, move the oven rack down one setting. Preheat the oven to 450 F. Butter your pie plate. Remove the chilled pie dough from the refrigerator and divide it in half. Form each half into a disk and keep the second half wrapped and in the refrigerator until ready to use. Very lightly dust your rolling pin with flour. Place the dough onto a silpat (silicone) mat or a lightly dusted work surface. Then roll the dough into an 11 inch diameter circle. Roll from the center out and rotate 90 degrees regularly. Transfer the dough to the pie plate. Use your hands and fingers to press the dough into the pie plate. Then roll out the second ball of dough.
ensure that they do not seal shut during baking. Brush the top of the pie with the egg wash. Use a pie crust protector or make one using a long, thin piece of aluminum foil and cover the edge of the pie crust. Bake the pie on the preheated pizza stone for 12 minutes. Reduce the heat to 350 F and bake for another 25 to 30 minutes. Remove the crust protector and bake for 20 more minutes. The crust will be golden and the apples will give to a sharp knife when pierced through a vent. Cool for at least one hour before serving. Serve with vanilla or maple ice cream.
Add the apple filling to the bottom pie crust in an even layer. Using your fingers, break up the 2 tablespoons of softened butter and disperse it over the apple filling. Then drape over the top pie crust. Trim off the excess dough with kitchen shears and press down and crimp the edges together to seal it all the way around. Use a sharp knife to cut out 4 to 6 vents in the top crust. Use the blade to ease the vents open slightly to
