Super Sue Me! Spurlock in the Dock?

Morgan Spurlock has been sued after he admitted sexual harassment and misconduct. The “Super Size Me” filmmaker posted on Twitter in December following the Harvey Weinstein scandal, saying he was “part of the problem”. Turner Entertainment Networks has filed a lawsuit against him, claiming it scuppered a project about women’s issues they were due to make together. Too much fast food was the least of his worries, obviously

The Aussie-born rapper said her new management team staged an intervention at the end of 2017 to address “anger issues” stemming from a history of feuds with fellow artists and the press. “They were like,” Iggy recalled, “’We think you’re really talented and you can go to the studio and make hits all day, but we don’t know if someone says something about you and you have a reaction it could ruin a branding deal. We need you to go and speak to these people and make sure that you’re mentally prepared to come out with new music.’” Azalea said she initially wasn’t on board, adding, “I didn’t like the idea of being sent away somewhere. He’s a military man The Blount family has a long history of military service, supposedly dating from the 10th century. Blunt was a Captain in the Life Guards, a unit of the Household Cavalry. In 1999, Blunt served as an armored reconnaissance officer in the NATO deployment in Kosovo. Just don’t ask him to sing “You’re in the Army now”…

He’s into charity work Blunt has been an active supporter of MSF by holding meet-and-greet auctions at many of his concerts. Blunt is a patron of Help for Heroes, a charity aiming to raise money to provide better facilities for wounded British soldiers. He’s something of a hero himself! His demo stopped Elton’s manager driving! A backing vocalist and songwriting friend suggested James contact Elton John’s manager Todd Interland. He’s still a fan of his biggest hit – bar none! ‘Actually I always enjoy playing ‘You’re Beautiful’ live’ he confesses ‘because I’m thinking, “Awesome, it’s almost the end of the concert. hen Demi Lovato pulled out of the Camp Rock 2 tour and entered a rehab facility, it seemed that that the all too familiar addictions and distractions of growing up in public had claimed another victim. But after two years in rehab, Demi emerged stronger and as since taken her career to another level as a Grammy nominated and multi-platinum singer, songwriter, actress, advocate, philanthropist, and business woman. She is one of the biggest names on social media, with an engaged combined following of over 145 million. In 2013, her book “Staying Strong: 365 Days a Year”, became a New York Times best-seller, while in 2015 the single “Cool for the Demi Lovato (25) Summer”, trended worldwide and hit #1 on iTunes in 37 countries.. flew into the Top 5 on the iTunes Charts. “Sorry Not Sorry”, has garnered over 195 million streams and climbed to #1 on the viral charts, while her collaboration with Fonsi Nieto “Echame La Culpa” topped the charts in Spain in February and her world tour comes to Spain this summer Demi has described her first single off her latest album “Tell Me You Love Me”, as “definitely more mature and more raw” than her previous work. “I really tried to have my own “Stripped,” she said, citing the album in which Christina Aguilera, one of her biggest influences, successfully revamped her image from teen to a sexually empowered adult, as announced by a topless, black-and-white album cover, which in large part inspired Lovato to shoot her first black-and-white album cover, too. The aesthetic relaunch wasn’t the only breakthrough “I’ve never sang about my alcohol addiction and my drug addiction, and that’s what ‘You Don’t Do It for Me Anymore’ is about,” Lovato said of the showcase of her newfound “soulful,” “R&B pop” sound that, belt it out as she may, she found “definitely hard”. In 2010 Lovato left Disney’s Camp Rock 2 tour early to seek treatment for cocaine use, bulimia, cutting, and bipolar disorder.
With a worldwide number one album and a world tour coming to Spain this summer, Demi Lovato has put her demons behind her.

She received intensive treatment in 2011 and in 2012 entered a sober-living facility for more than a year. Severing ties with Disney, she embarked on a major musical comeback, turning her dark times into smash-hit singles like “Skyscraper”; she also judged The X Factor USA, all the while speaking out about the mental health and drug abuse issues she survived. “That’s something that’s a part of who I am and am always going to want to talk about,” Lovato said, adding that it’s only amplified her connection with her fans even further. “I have a really special relationship with my fans that I don’t think other artists have, and I’m really fortunate, so I want to incorporate them in every way possible.” Demi is commited to using her platform with her fans in a positive way. “When you’re an artist, you HOTMagazine.es

I have felt uncomfortable having people say, “You’re my idol,” because I want them to idolise God. I want them to idolise somebody that’s done a lot. So I think it’s important that artists use their voices for so much more than just their talent”. As a result of her long-time commitment to raising awareness around LGBT issues and causes, in 2016, Demi became the recipient of GLAAD’s Vanguard award. I was really dedicating all my time to the studio—I wasn’t off with a boyfriend or whatever. And mentally and emotionally, it just made a difference, too.” Asked to describe the change between her how and in 2010, Demi replies “I feel healthy, I feel happy. Back then I felt an emptiness inside of me, and I reached for so many things—a person, a substance, a behaviour—to fill that void. And now there’s not a void anymore. The void is filled by me taking care of myself.… Getting sober was difficult. I went into rehab, I came out, and I didn’t stay sober. I still had issues occasionally. Now some days it’s difficult; some days it’s easy. But I like to focus on what I’m doing now, which is giving back. “I had to go through that to know I could stay sober through anything. ne browse (see what I did there!) around Instagram and you will see that eyebrows are big news, and having perfect eyebrows is not a trend that’s going away…it’s a must. Eighteen months ago, the hashtag #EyebrowsOnFleek began circulating on Instagram, but, when Kim Kardashian posted a brow photo to her account, using said hashtag, the expression became mainstream and the beauty world went nuts. Within no time, showing off ‘fleek’ eyebrows became a favorite cosmetic pastime for celebrities and normal citizens alike…so what exactly is ‘fleek’? Fleek —which is a variation of ‘flick’, a word well known to make-up-lovers — is when eyebrows are perfectly groomed, filled and shaped. In essence, “brows on point” and “brows on fleek” are the same thing. Gone are the days of over plucking and ‘drawn-on brows’ – it’s time to celebrate the brow and bold and beautiful is better. One look at the social media darling and eccentric supermodel, Cara Delevigne, and you get the idea. Her eyebrows are naturally prettymuch perfect…but others are not so lucky. The Internet is

isiting Cappucino Salon is always a pleasure. For more than 15 years, it has been an oasis for Marbella locals and tourists alike who would like to look and feel good. The ambiance in the salon is always electric— busy but always fun. Over the years that I have known the owner Sabrina, I keep coming back not only because she knows me and my hair but also because she’s always a delight with her infectious smile and jolly personality. And yes, she would offer you a glass of champagne (or two) to make sure you start your session right. This is the third time I have booked an appointment with Sabrina. For more than two years now, she’s been pampering my hair, making it as
thick and voluminous yet light and breezy as I want it to be. Dubbed as Marbella’s “Queen of Hair Extensions”, Sabrina only uses one brand of extensions ever since—Great Lengths--the brand considered as the best in the world by hair stylists and professionals. Last year, it won the Stylist Choice Award for “Favourite Hair Extension Company of the Year” for the tenth time in a row. The award was given by “Behind the Chair”, the largest community in the world for salon professionals. The awards ceremony was held in Florida, USA. Great Lengths was also crowned the first winners of the newest category title “Favorite Bonded Extensions”. These awards are so significant because they reflect the votes
of over 800,000 hair stylists worldwide! In Marbella, Sabrina was pleased to share with me the good news that her salon has finally earned the seal of approval of the Great Lengths, making them one of the few salons in Spain that the brand is officially working with! In the beginning of the year, she was called by the brand to visit their factory and warehouses in Rome. This was a rare occasion for her as not any salon could be called for the same purpose. In this iconic city, she marveled at the process of hair making
I have male clients who wanted extensions to add a more natural looking volume for their hair from beginning to end and was delighted by the work ethics and professionalism each member of the company showed her. She wasn’t allowed to take many pictures or publish them
unfortunately but the experience nevertheless was priceless. “I cannot express how amazing it was!,” she said in sheer excitement. At the end of the visit, Sabrina met with high ranking officials of the brand who announced to her the good news regarding their collaboration. So what makes Great Lengths such a winning brand? Sabrina told me that the extensions are made of raw hair that comes from India. Perfect hair extensions require highquality strands of real hair. Great Lengths therefore only uses top quality raw hair – with cuticles intact and manually selected to have the same direction. All strands were donated voluntarily and with the full consent of the person it comes from. The company also pays a fair and appropriate price for the hair. A Great Lengths employee immediately takes the hair for it to carefully be sorted and selected for further processing. It then goes to an exclusive, controlled production process from the first step to the last: from accepting the hair all the way to selling it, the inhouse production ensures full traceability in producing the extensions. The hair is then shipped to Italy where up to four tons of raw hair is delivered every month. Here the hair undergoes very time consuming and elaborate processes, primarily by hand,
to ensure hair is treated as gently as possible. This requires specially trained employees for the hair bundles to become the extensions women around the world are delighted to have added to their hair. And men too, I should add. “Of course!,” Sabrina said with a smile. “Men these days take care of their looks a lot than ever before.” “I have male clients who wanted extensions to add a more natural looking volume for their hair.” I can’t agree more. After she glued my strands with Keratin, I was ecstatic with how my hair felt and bounced. Hair extensions can actually change your whole look and they last for five months so it’s definitely worth the money. So there I was in Sabrina’s most comfy chair, sipping my champagne and my troubles away as she did the finishing touches with my hair. “Oh, I can stay here all day, Sabrina,” I said in my most Marilyn Monroe-ish manner. I would if I could, but then the world outside was waiting to see my new fabulous crowning glory. Sparkle, Shimmer. Razzle & Dazzle Festival Fever is here! Festival season is by far the funnest time of year for hair and make-up lovers and it’s the perfect time to be braver, bolder and more adventurous with colours and styles. It’s time to sparkle, shimmer, razzle and dazzle so pack everything from sequins and jewels to feathers and ribbons, it’s time to adorn and have fun!
by Natalie Rose Kern Shine on you Crazy Diamond
Make-up is more adventurous now then ever before and there is a wide range of face jewels on the market so you can get creative. My favourite brand is The Gypsy Shrine where you can find whole facial jewel designs ready to stick on. If you’re a bit braver than me and fancy unleashing your inner artist then you can buy jewels loose and play around with your own designs and ideas.
Diamonds on your Eyes
I honestly wasn’t too sure if this trend would catch on as it’s somewhat dramatic for an every day look, but the ‘jewelled eyebrow’ was seen making its debut at festivals around the world last year, and Instababes have been going wild for this bold make-up trend. Bonus - No need to worry about packing pencils or brow shadow - just glue jewels over your eyebrows and you’re set to sparkle the night away!
Glitter-rama
Plaits, buns and braids are great ways of getting hair up and off of the face. Whether you’re head banging in the mosh pit or kicking back in the campsite, keep your tresses, tangle-free and effortlessly glam with laid-back loose plaits, pinned into buns - and add glitter and sequins for festival sparkle! Bonus - A sprinkling of glitter will also cleverly conceal greasy roots! 58

Hair will often have to go days without being washed so pack a bottle of dry shampoo. Batiste is a lifesaver for degreasing those roots and freshening up stale and partied out locks. Just tip your head upside down and spray away!
Glitter Boobs
As make-up gets more daring, so are the festival goers! Glitter and jewels are no longer reserved exclusively for face and hair: this year we are seeing the explosion of ‘glitter boobs’ ! From sparkly rainbow designs and light glitter dusting, to full bejewelled breasts, it seems there are no rules, just glitter-up and go! Advice - wear with a whole bag full of confidence and get ready to shine bright like a diamond!

ever before has travel been so accessible on a global scale, the internet era has brought us closer to every single country in the world through a myriad of online platforms that make your next trip as easy as clicking a few buttons on your smartphone or tablet. Booking.com, Expedia and their associated companies have cornered the market in terms of value and discounted stays on line…until now… A new era of private access travel clubs will begin to claim extensive market share over the next years. Ever wonder what the actual cost of the room is before the travel companies apply their margin? In general it is around 50% of the price the end user pays. Across the industry the retail travel companies use a system called channel management; channel management companies collate the rates of all of the hotels globally and are the supply chain to the travel industry. Most of the large-scale travel networks have contractual terms that dictate retail prices; for

it’s safe to say The Boardwalk is back with a bang!!!
A Marbella favourite has gone back to basics with spectacular results. Giles Brown reports.
ou know that a restaurant is great when it refuses to rest on its laurels and social media plaudits. It may be an established success in Marbella, now in its fourth season and already busier than ever, but sisters Charley and Kara Caradas and the team at The Boardwalk has upped their game this season, and in a bold and brilliant “Back to the Future” move, have brought back their original chef, Nick Newman. The self-effacing Scotsman is obviously delighted to be back at The Boardwalk “A lot of my heart is in this place”, he smiled “We are doing what we do well, using the freshest ingredients. It’s great to be back here. The kitchen is the engine room of a restaurant and I have great guys in there that I trust”. Spoiler Alert: Nick’s passion to be back at The Boardwalk is already showing, with the standard and quality of food rising to the next level! The restaurant itself still boasts one of the best, uninterrupted views of the Mediterranean, with the full-length retractable windows making it the perfect place to watch the world go by. The Boardwalk offers something for everyone and is also well adapt to catering for large groups with set menu options available, making it the perfect venue if you are looking to celebrate with family and friends. caña or soft drink for only 10,95€ making it one of the best deals on the paseo. Other offers include half price burgers, pastas and pizzas between 4.30-6.30pm and two for one deals on cocktails between 4.30-7pm. Also new this year, and bound to be popular with wine lovers, is the fact that you can now buy any of the wines that The Boardwalk offers by the glass. And if you want to hone your mixology skills you can join one of their cocktail classes that have already proved popular, especially with parties and groups. The Hot team took to their seats and it wasn’t long before a feast was upon us! We started with a sharing plate that included humus, quesadillas, panko and tempura prawns and freshly made spring rolls, a tasty combination that is bound to be popular this season. Our resident Gambas Pil Pil expert tried The Boardwalk’s version of this classic Mediterranean dish and loved it – pronouncing it as ‘spiced to perfection with larger than normal prawns!’ We also tried out a new addition to the menu, the Fish Burger that came with chips and a fabulous tartar sauce. The fish itself was superbly fresh and full of flavour. The whole team were in agreement that this welcome addition to the menu was going to be a big hit this summer. That freshness and flavour was also apparent in another classic the mozzarella, avocado and tomato

salad that was also beautifully presented. For mains we chose the beautifully cooked leg of lamb with fresh vegetables and a superb rack of ribs that did that whole ‘melt-in-your-mouth’ thing. I know that is a cliché, but in the case of this outstanding dish, it really was true! And I can’t let this review go by without mentioning the wonderfully crisp sweet potato fries that accompanied the ribs. Let’s just say that they didn’t last long on the Hot table! With the ‘engine room’ now firing on all cylinders under the watchful eye of Nick, and with Charley and Kara at the helm, it’s safe to say The Boardwalk is back with a bang!!!

The craziest action and the sexiest people are at Mosh
Since it opened two years ago, Mosh has redefined fine dining and more in Marbella. Giles Brown gets down in the Mosh pit!
L
L Cool J put it succinctly with his killer track “Something like a phenomenon”. In only two seasons, Mosh Fun Kitchen has become a staple part of any great night out in the Golf Valley. You only have
to check the social media of Marbella’s party crowd to see that the craziest action and the sexiest people are at Mosh most weekends. Mosh has managed to pull off one of the most difficult tricks – being all things to all people. Several places have tried the “restaurant that turns into a club” trick and all of them have failed. It is also one of the focal points of the ‘Aloha Strip’, that collection of bars and restaurants in Nueva Andalucia that have become a chilled out yet stylish alternative to the away from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Banus – especially as the season gets underway. Mosh gets the vibe right from the moment that you walk up the entrance to the terrace and gardens. There are smartly dressed hostesses to check you in, so a word to the wise – don’t even think about rocking up to Mosh in beachwear. You won’t get in. This is a grown up place to see and be seen – not shamed. Inside is an urban, funky vibe that borrows from a mezcla of metropolitan influences, with more than a hint of New York style. There’s a live DJ laying down some cool tracks – at just the right volume – while one side of the dining area has a great bar serving some serious cocktails. Shisha is also available. Although Mosh is known as a place to party in style, all the decadent ‘so-bad-it’s-good’ behaviour starts at midnight (after Cinderella has gone home obviously). The Hot team visited mid evening and were struck by the fact that it is a place for chic people – both young and

with a young outlook. Mosh may be popular with groups – and several dishes on the menu are tailor made for sharing - but on the night we visited there were also older couples and a fashionably dressed family as well. I spoke with Mosh head chef Miguel Angel about the food “It’s a different concept - a fusion of Asian and Spanish dishes” he explained, “some Japanese classics re-imagined with Spanish produce. And because we are Mosh Fun Kitchen, there are dishes with a touch of fun”. I asked Miguel Angel if Mosh had a signature dish “The Black Cod Miso” he replied, but I already knew this as everyone that I had asked raved about it! They may have a touch of fun, but the dishes are deadly serious when it comes to flavour and presentation. We started with Japanese buns with slightly spicy salmon, pickled onion and fresh coriander, Tempura prawn salad with pine nuts, shiitake mushrooms and Kimchi mayonnaise and a superb grilled octopus with truffle mash potato, paprika and Hawaii salt, as well as Foie milefeulle quince, cheese and caramelized apple. We followed these with a stunning salmon California roll – ‘Sushi is an attitude’ according to the Mosh menu, and in which case they have exactly the right

attitude, and a ‘fall off the bone’ leg of lamb. We finished the meal off with a beautifully presented and tasty chocolate and Baileys ice cream and mousse. Quiet how people can dance on tables after eating such fantastic food is beyond me, but then again it may just be me. By the way, if you were wondering, Mosh is the name of one of the partner’s cats. It’s an Egyptian cat, which explains the feline logo and ‘naked’ cat photos on the menus. “Eat. Drink. Party. Repeat” is Mosh’s motto. With the 2018 season about to get underway, we can think of no wiser advice!

ow, didn’t winter go fast?! It only seems like 5 minutes ago that I was writing my last column for Hot and that was last September! And I couldn’t believe it when the owner of Hot told me that this would be my 10th season writing for the magazine. Where the bloody hell did all that time go!!! I know a lot of people here say they do not like the winter months but I have to say I love them, apart from all the rain we have had over the last month or so. I always seem to be so busy, especially this winter with god knows how many birthday parties I attended at La Sala. You can say what you like about the place but for me in the winter months there is nowhere better than La Sala for a great afternoon/ early evening/ all night booze up! I also had some great nights out at the fully refurbed Portside. They have done an amazing job on the place and it looks so much bigger than before. It always has been a great place to have a drink but now being in even better makes it even harder to leave! I also ended up having a fab photoshoot courtesy of Balance Photography who contacted me out of the blue and said they would like to take some photos of ‘Mummy Marbella’. Well as
anyone who knows me well knows I am not going to miss up on an opportunity like that! Linekers re-opened – always the first to open in the Port, along with Babilonia and Bijou has just re-opened also. Here I go again! So looking forward to the summer to get into full swing and can’t wait for the re-opening of TIBU on Friday 6th April. Tibu have got some great nights lined up this year including the maddest clubbing craze ever…. Bingo Blowout! If you don’t already know, Bingo is latest social phenomenon taking over nightlife in the UK, Dubai, Australia and even Ibiza and it arrives at TIBU every Thursday night starting on the 3rd May. TIBU will also be hosting four LOVEJUICE parties this summer as well as being the home for Mayfair Sessions every Friday from the beginning of May. Looks like TIBU is going to smash it once again this year! Finally I celebrated yet another birthday last month with a fab
week in Dubai. It’s been years since I went to Dubai but what an amazing time I had. It incredible to see how they do everything to excess, the buildings don’t actually look real! I was a proper tourist and one of the things I have always wanted to do was go to the dessert and ride a camel, what an experience. Although I went early in the morning, it was so hot, and a few hours is more than enough but now ticked off the bucket list. I also went up the Burj Kalifa the tallest building in the world, going in the building and to the top was like something out of a James bond movie but the view was incredible. Had a great time but missed the connecting flight back due to chatting and not watching then lost luggage that took two hours in Madrid airport to find – only to find out that it actually flew to Malaga without me (bad security) so had to get the train back then stop at Malaga airport to collect luggage – always have a bit of drama! Well it’s back to work now and I know I won’t get a minute’s rest now until the season finishes and with it being a World Cup year it really is going to be a mad one, I just know it!

n the afternoon that I arrive at the hotel, it seems that spring has finally arrived in Marbella. After a fortnight of showers, storms and rainy days, the sun is back out, birds are chirping, orange blossom is scattering in the wind and the pretty, Andalusian-style hotel is glistening bright white against the deep blue sky. I enter through the little courtyard and am greeted in the reception by Sophia, the General Manager who welcomes me warmly. I glance around and am immediately struck by how spacious the hotel is. A hallway stretches out in front of us and beyond that I can see people enjoying drinks in the lobby area. “It’s deceptively big” Sophia smiles, observing the evident surprise on my face. “It’s so tucked away and out of the limelight that no-one realises how big this hotel actually is. Usually when people think ‘boutique hotel’ they imagine ten to twenty rooms… but we’ve actually got 74!” We walk down through the lobby and out into the blinding sunshine and the central courtyard where tables and chairs are scattered about the restaurant’s terrace and sun beds line the swimming pool. It’s absolutely enchanting. We settle
for a table with both sun and shade and a friendly waitress comes to take our drinks orders. Paloma Blanca Boutique Hotel is a family-run hotel: Sophia and her siblings are the grandchildren of Christos Kazolides of the Banus institution, Red Pepper, and sister hotel, the Gran Hotel Benahavis, so they are the next generation to be continuing the family business. As such, the hotel has a wonderfully friendly and relaxed vibe, but service is impeccable. Sophia’s family purchased Paloma Blanca a decade ago when it was a 1-star functioning hotel, and six years ago they began the extensive renovation work, which lasted over five years. Last year they finally opened their doors to the public, which Sophia describes as their “initial test run”, but their official opening was at the beginning of this month, and having ironed out creases, devised menus, booked events and highly trained a team of staff, they are getting ready to welcome their first full season in style. Sophia is enthusiastic as she talks me through events she has planned; from live music nights to wine tasting classes, and as we are sitting there, Russell of Terrablues fame arrives to begin his Wednesday afternoon DJ-ing slot around the pool. “We aren’t looking to compete with any of the ‘party’ hotels”, Sophia tells me, “In fact, we are aiming for another clientele entirely, but we still want to have a fun atmosphere and a really buzzing vibe.” We are only a week into the Easter holidays and the start of the season, but I can feel that buzz has already begun. A few couples are sunbathing by the pool and some animated parties are enjoying lunch in the sun. Motown classics are playing and everything about Paloma Blanca feels like a lazy summer HOTMagazine.es

afternoon. After chatting for a while about plans and projects, we take a tour of the hotel so that I can get a full idea of the size, and I am keen to take a look at the rooms, which range from Standard to Superior, and Junior and Tower Suites. The accommodation has been built around the courtyard and all of the standard rooms on the ground floor open onto the pool and terrace area, which is delightfully charming. Upstairs, the larger rooms have little living areas, pretty views and spacious layouts. Everything is immaculately finished, with pristine bathrooms boasting either bath or walk-in shower, and the rooms have a modern, city feel. Slick, chic and contemporary with textured headboards and contrasting coloured walls. “We’ve kept design fairly minimal” Sophia tells me, “But our aim is to become as ecoconscious and eco-friendly as possible. In all of the rooms, the air conditioning will cut out if windows are doors opened and we have fitted solar panels to heat the swimming pool” I glance over the courtyard where a roof has been covered with solar panelling and it’s worth noting that the swimming pool it heats is also a saltwater pool! A most refreshing break from the chlorine filled pools that turn your hair green around town. There is a large fully functioning gym and spacious studio space with mirrored walls. “We’re hoping to get a timetable of classes together,” Sophia tells me, “We already have a Yoga teacher and hope to get a few Aerobics or Zumba classes on the go for local ladies to drop in, take a class and enjoy coffee, juice or brunch on out terrace.I 94

know that I for one would love to come here for my morning exercise classes, and brunch on the terrace sounds like the perfect way to continue my day. I peruse the menu and it’s a modern, European assorted selection featuring everything, from classics like the Club Sandwich, healthy options like the Avocado and Quinoa Salad and exciting dishes like the Spiced Pumpkin, Rocket and Goat’s Cheese. The lunch terrace is open from 11am until 6pm when the dinner menu begins. In the evening the menu is focused around the grill, and there is always a wide selection of fresh meats and fish from the local markets.
Sophia’s brother has just finished culinary school and is now in the kitchen, whilst her mother plays a heavy role in the designing and decor and it’s fair to say that there’s a family feel that makes the hotel so welcoming, without ever distracting from its professionalism. “After fifteen years of living in LA and working in the food and beverage industry, impeccable service has been drummed into me and training our staff has been paramount in ensuring that we deliver a customer service that is second to none.” Combining family warmth and LA efficiency, Paloma Blanca Boutique Hotel is the perfect spot to enjoy a cool drink after a long week - Friday afternoons

Eyes Down!
The maddest clubbing craze ever is coming to Banus this summer…
B
race yourself clubbers. Just when you thought you had seen everything in the world of nightlife, the latest - and frankly most unexpected - craze is about to hit Banus.
Forget Grime, and delete your Stormzy downloads, because Bingo is coming to TIBU this season. No, we haven’t been on it since breakfast. Bingo is the latest social phenomenon taking over nightlife in the UK, Dubai, Australia and even Ibiza and it arrives in Marbella this summer! Even the Financial Times, not known for its in-depth club coverage, ran a report entitled “Bingo raves sweep UK as game gets millennial makeover”. Bingo Blowout is four hours of fun every Thursday designed to start your night out with something different on your mini break, hen or stag party, or just a big party for you and your mates. The night includes six games of bingo with 18 prizes throughout
the night, and you’ll be given a bingo card and pen to play the game that your granny loves. But Bingo Blowout is a million miles from a Mecca Bingo Hall because while you cross your numbers off there’s a DJ playing cheesy pop, house and RnB classics to add to the party! The insane game nights will be based at TIBU, right in the middle of Puerto Banus and the kind folks at Bingo Blowout have arranged for you to have free access (worth €20) to TIBU after, making it a ‘no brainer’ for your holiday wish list this summer! For tickets go to: www.fatsoma.com/mobile/ products/pp49jovd Expect crazy prizes, ridiculous rounds and not-to-be missed surprises that are not to be missed with weekly host DJs

One of Malaga’s own is tearing up the scene
Costa del Sol from the UK. It was at that point that he began working on scratching and just two years later, during the boom of the breakbeat era, he became a master of the technique, performing for audiences as big as 20,000 at the famous Satisfaxion festival. From then on his career as a DJ went from strength to strength but he never lost his love for vinyls. He opened and ran a shop
named Washing Machine Records in Barcelona while gigging from one club to another and in 2006 moved to Ibiza to take the scene there by storm. Use of turntables became his own personal signature, sometimes mixing with two or even three decks during a performance, converting a DJ set into an audiovisual show.
M.E.M.O has released records with labels such as 4line, Tip Tap, Lust and Amoeba. His EP “Raices” (Indigo Raw), includes a track that was charted and that formed part of the Carl Cox compilation “Revolution”. “Tai Tai”, his latest EP, is already massive and fans are begging for more.
Follow him on Facebook M.E.M.O.officialpage – for more up-to-date info, reviews and interests, and to be the first to find out when he’ll next perform in Marbella. The guy is so damn in demand it’s tricky to catch him in action locally, but he loves returning to his home ground when he can and it’s totally worth the wait!
