Bye Big Bang Hit Sitcom to End

Big Bang Theory star Kunal Nayyar says there are ‘no words’ to describe his feelings about news the show is to end. The British-born actor, who plays Raj in the sitcom, posted on Instagram that it’s not goodbye yet - as there are still 23 episodes to film. The show will wrap next year after 12 seasons. It’s been 12 great seasons!

Ben Affleck is reported to have checked in to rehab in Los Angeles. According to celebrity website TMZ the star was driven there by his ex-wife Jennifer Garner. McClane Bruce Willis is back

Bruce Willis will be returning for a sixth Die Hard movie revising the role of John McClane that made him a global superstar. The movie will be titled McClane, according to Empire. “You can tell our intention by the fact that the title page we handed in says, McClane,” producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told the mag. “We want you to get invested in John McClane more than ever before.” The movie will follow a 60-year-old McClane and also a younger version of the character in his 20s. The present day section will get just as much focus as the prequel section. Let’s hope it’s better than the last one!

Mourinho’s a fraud! One year prison sentence

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has accepted a one-year prison sentence for tax fraud, according to reports in Spain. The Portuguese is accused of defrauding Spanish tax authorities out of £2.9million. According to newspaper El Mundo, Mourinho has accepted wrongdoing and a sentence as part of a plea bargain he struck with prosecutors - six months for each of the two financial crimes he’s accused of and will have to pay a fine of £1.78m, or 60 per cent of the money he defrauded. However, Mourinho will not spend any time behind bars as first-time offenders in Spain do not usually serve jail sentences for crimes given two years or less. The special one… indeed!

CNN has removed episodes of Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown featuring Asia Argento from its streaming service due to allegations against Argento made by actor and musician Jimmy Bennett, A Parts Unknown spokesperson commented , “In light of the recent news reports about Asia Argento, CNN will discontinue airing past episodes of Parts Unknown that included her, until further notice.” In summer the New York Times reported that Argento paid Bennett $380,000 after he accused her of sexual battery from an incident that allegedly occurred in 2013 Argento said in a statement that she was “deeply shocked and hurt” about the report and “strongly” denies it. 80’s Pop star, Matt Goss claims he cured a man of cancer with healing powers inherited from his granddad. His face went pale and he said, ‘I’m in terrible pain, I’ve got cancer’. The 35th annual award show aired live from the venue for the 12th time, the most of any previous venue in its history. Cardi B led the list of nominations with twelve mentions and opened the show. As a rule of thumb, I don’t answer the phone after 11pm. So when my mobile buzzed at 12.30am with a call from my musician mate Mark Connor, I assumed that it wasn’t that important and switched it off...

The next morning I wished that I had taken the call. Mark had messaged to let me know that Mel Williams had died suddenly. From thousands of people in Marbella and further beyond, Mel was the music scene on the Coast. From running clubs, to playing solo or with bands, to MC’ing charity functions, Mel’s career spanned over 40 years on the Coast alone. I first met Mel when I came to Marbella in the mid 80s. Puerto Banus was a very different place back then, with dozens of live music and piano bars. The musicians who played wanted somewhere to jam, relax and let off steam, and so Mel’s Beach was born. Soon, the rich, the famous and the infamous were partying on a Sunday afternoon like there was no tomorrow with some truly hedonistic jam sessions and building huge pyramids of beer cans. My memory from Mel’s Beach was that unforgettable afternoon when soul legend Edwin Starr turned up unannounced to do a set, followed straight afterwards by Thin Lizzy’s Phil Lynott and his new band, who blew the roof

off the place! Mel also had his own club in Banus ‘Mel’s’ that became the late night venue of choice for locals, tourists and the odd passing celeb. Jo Cocker would be in there when he was in town, as would Rod Stewart and Kid Creole – who famously took one look at my fashionable waistcoat and ordered a cocktail from me, thinking I was a waiter. Mel was always playing, always performing, and the rock behind him was his wife Sally. Behind every great man is an even greater woman, and this was doubly true with Sally. Quite simply, Mel wouldn’t have been able to perform without Sally, whose organisational skills were

second to none. It might not have been a career that brought fame and fortune – his autobiography was called ‘Nearly Famous’ - but there were innumerable highlights, including appearing at the Royal Albert Hall with Van Morrison, Mark Knopfler and Roger Daltrey for his friend Lonnie Donegan’s Tribute Concert. Over the years he raised thousands for charity. If you were organising a charity event, Mel was always the first to say yes. Days after his death I MC’ed the Kool and the Gang concert at the Puente Romano. Promoter David Giles asked me to mention Mel in my introduction, and as I did, the audience broke into spontaneous and heartfelt applause. At his funeral, hundreds crammed in to see Mel arrived flanked by an honour guard of his beloved Harley Davidson biker brothers.

Sally, incredibly strong, gave a deeply moving eulogy of love, tears and laughter, and the wake afterwards turned into a rock n roll party, with Mel’s memorabilia on display. And, for those who need a little bit of extra and want a bit of a change with their look, here’s my personal suggestion for you: get hair extensions.

Fake it till you look “It”

From Hollywood celebs, to “It girls” and everyday mums, hair extensions have been a favourite to a lot of women (and some men!) to enhance or create a change to their look.

Not only that it adds length but it also adds volume especially when you have fine or thinning hair, as I do. As an extension wearer myself, I could say that the key to good hair extensions is not only that they are durable but they have to blend naturally and seamlessly with your own hair. I have been wearing fabulous fakery in my hair on and off for almost three years now and I can’t get tired of it. This time though, I wanted to go for a more dramatic look for Autumn / Winter so I headed down to where the buzz is all about when it comes to incredible hair extensions in Marbella-- Hair Lab Salon in Puerto Banus.

and eye lash extensions. So what’s different with Hair Lab? According to Annie, they use a special kind of hair which they call “Lab Locks” from Brazil. It’s a natural Brazilian Remy which is ethically sourced and is re-useable, which for me is something of a novelty and a pleasant surprise. Cost effective, it saves you a lot of money compared to single use extensions. You can wear Lab Locks between eight to

twelve weeks depending on the condition of your hair. After that, you can take them off; keep them in your drawers, ready for the next time you feel like wearing them again. Isn’t that fantastic! Brazilian Remy hair has thicker stands than Indian hair which is perfect for me (as my hair is so thin). With just a small amount, I got the much needed volume I wanted. Annie works side by side with her equally talented hair technician, Kerry Osborne, and together they spent less than an hour to give me a luscious “Pocahontas” hair that surely changed my look. They combined some black and dark brown locks together to create a more convincing shade nearest to my original hair colour. The result, a natural looking finish and length that would pass as my own hair! As much as it looks real though, Annie gave me all the post treatment advice I need to make them last and get the most of out of them. The strands are heavy duty—you can style them as you want using your straightener, blow dryer, but make sure you also keep them hydrated and well-conditioned. The hair may also feel heavy at first but after a couple of washes, they will loosen up, becomes lighter and will feel almost like your real hair. So, adios summer and a big hello to the cooler season! Here I am welcoming Autumn with a smile as I whip and sway my long, voluminous, Disney Princess hair, made not by science but with love by Hair Lab!

THE KITCHEN IS CONFIDENT AND CONCENTRATED ON DOING THINGS RIGHT

arbella’s Puerto Deportivo – Leisure Marina – has always held a special place in my life. Back in the day (and I mean way back) it was the place where I was introduced to the varied delights of Marbella nightlife as a callow youth, and I threw myself into the scene with gusto. Too much gusto as it turned out, but I digress. Having fallen into a state of neglect and disrepair – I’m talking mostly about the Puerto Deportivo – the past few years have seen the marina undergo a dramatic transformation and general clean up. Most of the marina has been pedestrianised and there is a vibrant programme of activities taking place year round. B Bistro & Bar is the latest addition to the thriving restaurant and bar scene in the marina. Located on the front of the marina, the large terrace overlooks the moored boats. There’s a more relaxed and low-key vibe than its illustrious neighbour a little further west, and the atmosphere is much friendlier because of it. Owner Sally explained how the B Bistro & Bar started “My husband Jan and I were sailing and moored up in the Marina, and we said to ourselves ‘Wouldn’t it be fantastic if we could sail into this harbour and there was a nice little restaurant here serving our favourite food?’ “We looked along the strip here and thought ‘There are no restaurants like that here. This is bizarre! We thought that this was a great opportunity because we thought that it deserved a nice restaurant. We wanted to elevate the place and make a bit of a difference.” Minds made up, they certainly didn’t hang around. “It took us about 60 days between having HOTMAGAZINE.ES

That’s down to chef Niels and we were delighted when he came to work for us. “The most important thing is the restaurant and we want to really build that with international cuisine using our unique B cooker, with fresh ingredients and local produce. “ The Hot team took that as our cue to sample the menu. I do like a menu that is small and perfectly formed as it shows the kitchen is confident and concentrated on doing things right. B Bistro and Bar was a brilliant example of this. The starters included Burrata Cheese with mixed tomatoes, basil foam and pine nuts, Scallops with truffled pasta and gremolata - that had a deep, rich flavour and a surprising and sublime Risotto with truffled mushrooms and grilled corgette. These were followed by a beautifully presented Fillet of Baked Corvina with basil sauce and rosemary skin, succulent 76

rack of lamb with Italian herbs and rosemary sauce and simply beautiful prime cut tournedos served with truffle sauce and Béarnaise Sauce. “The steak and the lamb are our signature dishes, cooked in the B cookers, and our clients consistently say that this is the best steak on the Costa del Sol, which is a great accolade” said Sally, and I had to agree that they were something special. Desserts included a “Dangerous” Tiramisu made with Licor 43. Don’t say we didn’t warn you… B Bistro & Bar also run themed events, including drinks promotions, as well as live DJs and live sports, so that people can have fun.

Future events include the White Sensation Party on September 15 “What we are aiming to do is say goodbye to our wonderful guests, who have been here for the summer, and hello we are open for the whole of the winter and come and see us” explains Sally. “We will be part of the Marbella Food Festival in the Park the week after, and then in October there will be a Flamenco dinner”. I was really impressed by B Bistro & Bar – in fact it gets an A! There is only one downside that Sally can see “ We are so busy that we don’t get a lot of time to get out on the boat that brought us here in the first place!” she laughs.

Then just to add to the traffic chaos, Spain´s biggest cycle race happened with road closures and very few diversion signs. Who decides this has to take place in August? seeing Kool and the Gang at the Puente Romano. It’s a great venue for a concert and such a shame this was the only concert for 2018. However, Kool and the Gang were possibly the worst concert I have ever been to. I thought that they were just appalling and never got going. It was so disappointing and I though that they were more like a tribute band. In fact I think a tribute band would have been better. I don’t understand why old bands change their music for a concert, why would anyone want to listen to instrumental music? I get it that they can all blow a trumpet but that was not what we paid to see. I thought that it was just so self-indulgent. Most of the time there was absolutely nobody dancing. We were there to dance to all their best hits and there were 18 of us! The best part of the night was the warm up DJ, who was brilliant. Afterwards I asked the promoter who they were. He said that they were the originals, but some of the band were a bit young for that. He also said that Kool was not even there, which would account for the dreadful

performance! Too much Gang and not enough Kool. The new pool club KAH in Aloha finally opened, after they had been all taped up and building stopped for most of the summer, which is a shame as they missed the season. I went there at night and thought that it was a very a cool place, with a really nice vibe inside in the restaurant and bar area, or you can sit outside around the pool. I think that it’ll be a really nice winter venue for something different – if they stay open through the winter that is! One of the best pool clubs I have been to. So, September finally here and it’s one of my favourite months of the year. I’m not sure if it’s because I can see light at the end of the tunnel and will finally get some down time. It seems to have been a really long summer this year, which may have been due to a very long World Cup. That had to be the highlight of my summer, although it was really hard work. And the England v Panama game really was an incredible experience to be part of! I hope everybody has a fabulous winter. I know that I will!
