Katie Price’s terminally ill mum Amy begged her to go to rehab and sort her life out it’s been reported. Amy, who has a fatal lung condition, sat down with her daughter and said the only thing she wants as her health fails is for Katie to get well. An insider said: “Amy and Katie are very close and Katie’s always asking her if there’s something she wants to do before she gets too unwell. “Amy basically said it was her dying wish for Katie to sort her life out and get help. “There’s no way she could refuse. The decision was made between Katie, her management and her family that she would go to The Priory.” The Sun On Sunday revealed that Katie has been diagnosed with post traumatic stress disorder with Amy telling the paper: “She has been walking a fine edge lately, and everyone knows it. Oscar winner Judi Dench has spoken out in support of “good friend” Kevin Spacey after it was announced he will not be charged for a number of alleged sex crimes dating back more than 25 years. The 83-year-old Hollywood actor defended her 2001 co-star and praised Spacey for his incredible support on the set of The Shipping News following the death of her husband Michael Williams at the beginning of the same year. Last year Spacey, 59, joined the ranks of a number of high-profile Hollywood figures to be disgraced by allegations of sexual misconduct. Multiple claims of sexual assault and sexual harassment were made against the actor by various males, but Dench sprang to his defence at a press conference full of journalists to talk about the “wonderful actor” and speak about the #MeToo campaign which launched at the beginning of the year. We have no comment on the allegations but have to admit he is a great actor!

Will Smith celebrated his 50th birthday last month by bungee jumping into the Grand Canyon. The Men In Black actor opted to leap out of a helicopter to mark the milestone and also raise money for charity. The star appeared visibly nervous as he hovered over the canyon in northern Arizona before leaping backwards and plummeting towards the ground in a jump streamed live on YouTube. “This is gorgeous, beautiful,” he said as he swung upside down on the end of the bungee cord. He then blew kisses to the watching crowd, which included wife Jada Pinkett Smith and kids Jaden, Willow and Trey. Could think of a million other ways to mark my 50th!

Pop star, Rihanna’s Hollywood Hills mansion was broken into last month, which marks the second such incident this year. A call about the incident was made at 10:30 p.m. that night. Officers arrived at the home and opened a burglary investigation, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesperson told E! News. No information on whether anything was stolen or how many suspects were involved was released and no arrests were made. The 30-year-old singer was not home at the time of the incident, TMZ reported, adding that police responded to the home after an alarm went off around 10:30 p.m. Neighbours told police they saw as many as three suspects fleeing in a silver vehicle after the alarm was triggered. Gisele Bündchen made motherhood look effortless but in her memoir, Lessons: My Path to a Meaningful Life, the supermodel reveals that motherhood was a tougher adjustment than she let on. “Things can be looking perfect on the outside, but you have no idea what’s really going on,” Bündchen, 38, says in a revealing interview in the People magazine. “When I became a mom, I kind of lost myself. It was like a part of me died,” she says. “I’d been this very independent person. It was all about me. But now I had this little being, and I suddenly felt l couldn’t do other things and that was very hard for me. All I ever wanted was to be a mom, but when you’re actually experiencing that, it’s a shock.” Just goes to show not everything is as it seems!

Bill Cosby caged 3 to 10 Years in Prison!

Bill Cosby was sentenced to three to 10 years in prison last month for sexual assault. Judge Steven T. O’Neill delivered the sentence. Cosby will also be required to pay $25,000 within the first 12 months, as well as the cost of prosecution. “Nobody is above the law because of where they live, who they are, wealth, fame, celebrity or even philanthropy,” the judge said. The sentencing guidelines are between 22 and 36 months for a standard sentence. The actor will be held in total confinement in a state facility. He will also be required to take a sex offenders program. “Any lesser sentence would take away from the seriousness of the crime,” the judge continued. He later added that he gave “great weight” to the victim-impact statement, including the “traumatic aftermath, alienation from friends, pain, anguish, [and] nightmares” Andrea Constand experienced. “34 months this has gone on,” the judge said. “Your time has come.”

The 49-year-old actor, who already has two children with two different women, is apparently expecting a baby with Varunie Vongsvirates, 34. US press report that the Marley & Me star took a paternity test and found out that he is the father. A source told UsWeekly: ‘Owen has been a great father to his two boys and has maintained a warm and close relationship with their mothers. ‘Of course if a paternity test establishes that he is the father of another child, he will fulfil all of his obligations to support his child.’ I’m just a love machine (or baby making machine in Owen’s case!)

Leonardo DiCaprio has his own foundation committed to environmental causes and last month posted on social media promoting a plantbased alternative to meat. The Titanic star, 43, is an investor in the company Beyond Meat and on Twitter and Instagram he touted their meatless Beyond Burger. DiCaprio shared an image showing how the Beyond Burger compares to a traditional quarter pound hamburger in terms of its impact on the environment. The graphic claimed that the meatless product requires 99 percent less water and 93 percent less land to produce. Its production results in 90 percent fewer greenhouse gas emissions, the company claims, and uses 46 percent less energy. In his tweet, the actor wrote: ‘Proud to be an investor in the #futureofprotein’ and included a link to the Beyond Meat website. We know that will make one member of the Hot team very happy!

Singer, Olly Murs has admitted a posh ex-girlfriend was “too embarrassed” to tell her friends they were dating. Paige, 39, is pregnant with the couple’s second child and Murphy’s TENTH! The Australian actress first debuted her baby bump in August while in Los Angeles. Niles Rodgers has claimed to have secretly made not one, but ten new tracks, with the late DJ Avicii after they formed a close friendship. As the man behind Chic’s Le Freak, I Want Your Love, and Everybody Dance, Madonna’s Like A Virgin, David Bowie’s Let’s Dance and Daft Punk’s Get Lucky, he certainly knows a thing or two about what makes a hit record. Nile and Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, collaborated on 2013 song Lay Me Down, but Nile has now revealed they held a series of sessions in which they recorded an album’s worth of content shortly before the Swede’s sudden death in April, aged 28. Nile explained: “Between Avicii and me, there’s at least ten, at least. “We laughed all the time. I used to say, ‘You put Tim and I in a room and we can do the entire Top 20 in, like, two or three weeks’. “I’ve just been contacted about putting out my stuff, but I’ve got to see how it is because I was very close to Tim and the music we didn’t put out was extraordinary. He was blown away, as was I. “But, because of what I know, which I will not talk about, I want to make sure that whatever work I do would be to the benefit of the people Tim would want that project to benefit.” Legends the pair of them. rime Godfather Stormzy might have been the headline act at the MTV Gibraltar Calling Festival in September, but Rita Ora’s pop princess master class had the crowd firmly in her pocket and underlined that, as 2018 draws to a close, she might just be releasing the album that is filling up dance floors into the New Year. After numerous delays spanning four years, ‘Phoenix’, Rita’s second LP, and follow-up to her chart-topping 2012 debut ‘ORA’, is due to be released in November, Rita said, “One of the most liberating feelings for me is performing and creating music. This album is a true labour of love, and it was important for me to do it my way. I’m so appreciative of the love and support from those who worked with me on the record and allowed me to create something

As well as her acting, which is on hold until after the album, Rita launched Today, her debut merch line. Taking inspiration from late 90s

LEE How important is nutrition to you in creating a client’s regimen? MAT Nutrition is key aspect when we talk about fitness and body composition. If we want to lose weight and have an athletic look we can’t miss out this aspect. Also food is our fuel so it’s strictly related with energy levels and mood. I try to encourage my clients to keep it simple, to not take extreme diets and it’s always better to try to find a balance between what they eat and how much they move. My goal is to give them little daily tips that can be added to their habits and in this way help them and motivate them to build a healthy balanced lifestyle. Based on my experience I can say that at the end it works no matter what your goals are. LEE Suggest three essential exercises for all clients, and why? MAT I always customise trainings to each client’s need, but if I

MAT I always like to talk and listen to my clients and I’ll ask them several questions before starting and during the sessions to see and establish what they want to achieve. I pay attention to the exercises to see what they enjoy the most, the least and also I try to challenge them with small daily goals as well as short and medium term goals. I always track their progress, not just through body composition markers, but also performance like reps, kgs, form, etc. and I make them realise and see how much are they improving. LEE What’s the thing that you like most about your job? MAT I honestly love what I do. I work in a very positive and energetic environment with highly motivated people, and I take my clients’ goals very personally. This means that every time they change, improve, have less pain and feel great, I’m really happy!

ew York City smokehouse style is alive and well and very, very tasty at Jacks Smokehouse. Since its revamp a couple of years ago, Jacks Smokehouse has continued to bring Big Apple taste to Banus. As soon as you walk in you realise that the restaurant really does have that authentic New York Loft style, with exposed brickwork, banquette seats, mirrors and exposed vents and pipes in the ceiling. There are several distinct dining areas, a large screen TV showing music videos and American prints on the wall, but it isn’t overdone. When the Hot team visited for lunch the dining area was busy with families – Jacks Smokehouse has a great kids’ menu - as well as couples and groups, all enjoying the weather and watching the world go by. There’s a fabulous central marble bar where you can eat and drink. At night the well thought out lighting makes Jacks Smokehouse look fantastic - it’s Instagram heaven -and there’s even a DJ booth suspended by chains, perfect for a pre dinner cocktail or just unwind with a post work drink. The cocktails at Jacks Smokehouse deserve a special mention and include the rightly popular Aperol Twist (Vodka, Aperol, cava, muddled strawberries and fresh orange juice as well as the Smokehouse, an intoxicating combination of Honey rum, lemon juice, vanilla essence, smoked rosemary and orange bitters that is dramatically poured over ice. Upstairs is a great cocktail lounge bar with great views of the Port and can hold functions of up to 200 people, and there are also tables on the first floor balcony. We started with Fresh Tuna Tataki, - served with a ginger and wasabi dip – impressively tasty BBQ Beef Nachos – smothered with Jacks cheese, crispy onions, BBQ glaze, guacamole, salsa and sour cream that had a kick - and the Combo Platter. Comprising of Smoked Chicken Poppers, Crab Cakes, Spicy Wings, Pulled Pork Sliders, Ranch Dressing and Jalapeño Jam, this is a dish that is absolutely made for sharing, and we were soon diving in and trying to be polite asking “Do you want that last one” while silently wishing that the others in the team wouldn’t! And then it was on to the mains. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Jacks Smokehouse really is Big Boys Food. Amongst our mains was the Jacks 40 day dry aged Galician tomahawk steak for two. This was an IMMENSE dish. If Hollywood ever decides to make the film Jurassic Lunch, they’ll have to shoot it at Jacks Smokehouse! 64

The second was the Combo Sliders; three mini burgers pulled pork, cheeseburger and southern fried chicken, while the final main was the Smokehouse BBQ Ribs, classic fall off the bone ribs, served with coleslaw and skinny fries and coated with special BBQ sauce. This is a ‘must do’ dish at Jacks Smokehouse, full of beautiful flavours and with meat that really does fall off the bone. We finished the meal with a zesty Key Lime Pie and Smoked Vanilla Ice Cream. It’s easy to see why Jacks Smokehouse is so popular. Great service, fantastic food and outstanding value for money. The only problem was that we had eaten so much, we wished that we could hail a Yellow Cab to get home!!!

old, brilliant and just a little rock’n’roll, Meksian combines Mexican and Japanese cuisine with a heady combination of tastes, textures and temptations that is sure to cause a stir amongst fashionable foodies. Under the management of Ali Quilez and wife Paola with a talented kitchen team that includes Nicolas Mirasson the former right hand man of David Munoz, the Michelin stared enfant terrible of Spanish cooking “he’s a little crazy, very rock n roll but super talented”, and Pablo Olivares, the young team at Meksian are passionate about this exciting project “Meksian is about luxury, but luxury isn’t about price,” explains Ali, “Luxury is the small details – it’s about service and quality. It’s about making things well on a regular basis”. Meksain is located on the second line of Puerto Banus, opposite the cinema, and once inside the discreet entrance you are a million miles away from the bustle of Banus. Meksian has the atmosphere and ambiance of a very funky members club. The interior of the comfortable restaurant is dark woods and soft lighting. One wall is dominated by the bodega, with its changing coloured lights, while the bar runs halfway across another and the busy open plan kitchen is opposite. HOTMAGAZINE.ES

The funky Mexican feel is underlined by the painting of South American icon Frida Kahlo in a T shirt as you walk into the restaurant, and there are lots and lots of skulls. I love my skulls - I regularly wear a skull ring and have far too many skull T shirts– so Meksian was already pushing all of my buttons. As soon as the first dish arrived, the team at Hot knew they were in for something special. The Tuna Tartar – with an avocado base, tuna dressed with kimchi sauce and diced scallops marinated in lime – was an outstanding dish that comprised of perfectly balanced flavours with none of them overwhelming the other. Not only that, but the dish looked divine. It was so beautifully presented that it seemed a crime to eat it. This was followed with a homemade Guacamole – served in homemade ‘totopos’ – tortilla chip dishes - that was absolutely delicious with tomatoes, lime, onions and coriander. Next up were Beef Nachos, again featuring homemade ‘totopos’, with a tasty beef and tomato sauce, avocado, a selection of cheeses and sour cream. “That’s what you call a nacho” commented our photographer as

he helped himself to another one. These dishes were followed by buffalo wings - marinated, baked and fried and served with bbq sauce – that again gained the approval of the photographer (and by this point budding food critic) – homemade quesadillas with chicken, cheese and jalapeños and Tacos Al Pastor – pork loin, marinated with three chillis, orange and pineapple, red onion and coriander. All of them homemade and with superb and surprising textures and flavours. The Boneless Iberian pork ribs marinated in lime and Mexican beer glazed with bbq sauce came out of the kitchen next, and they were so delicious that everyone in the room couldn’t resist grabbing

a fork and sampling it. Other dishes on the menu include Hamburguesa Meksian, California Roll, Salmon Teriyaki and Thai Curries and there is a full vegetarian menu as well. For those unsure of what to choose, the staff at Meksian are happy to explain exactly what is on the menu, another example of ‘luxury’. With cocktails including the Meksian Margarita - tequila, fresh lime juice and mango and the Asian Caipirinha – Bombay Sapphire gin, brown sugar and kumquats - and desserts such as ‘Luna’ and ‘Tropical’, Meksian is sure to be your new, luxury hangout. Hot can’t wait to go back!!!

JAZZ ON AN AUTUMN’S DAY

he autumn on the Costa del Sol brings beautiful sunsets, cooler evening temperatures and some fantastic alternative music events, such as the International Jazz Festival held in the capital of Málaga. Running from October 29 November 4, the festival is now in its 32nd year and has become a reference point for jazz fans in Spain. The festival takes place in the fantastic Teatro Cervantes, located in a culturally buzzing area of the city and just a stone’s throw from the centre. It’s a beautiful and very well conserved theatre and the sound is superb. It’s also the perfect size to really appreciate 80

a good jazz concert. You’re also spoilt for choice for places to grab a bite to eat before or after a show, so can certainly extend your visit if you choose. This year’s festival showcases an eclectic blend of jazz maestros.
