Everman ISD 2015-2016 Convocation The beginning of the school year is a ritual that we all go through. What you might not know is that our teachers go through something similar. There are several trainings that all educators must attend before they kick-off a new school year. One of the highlights of the week is Convocation. Every district does it a little bit different. The easiest way to explain convocation is: HOMECOMING PEP RALLY! We were not sure what to expect especially since the district is under new leadership this year. On August 20th, six Everman High School Key Clubbers boarded a bus and headed to convocation. We were told that convocation was an event where all the teachers and administrators in the school district come together and get ready for new the school year. What we were not told was that teachers really like to have a great time. There were several high level speakers and performances by school groups. Key Club helped people to their assigned seats and escorted VIP guests. Everyone had a great time!

Presidential Council Meeting - Pool Party Social What goes better than summer time and swimming pools? Nothing as far as I’m concerned. When you add Key Clubbers, food, and swimming: we have accomplished nirvana! On August 8th, Everman High School Key Club attended the Division 1 South Presidential Council Meeting which was hosted by our Lieutenant Governor, Vanessa Castañeda. What is uber amazing is that each club in our division was represented! We had eight members attending the PCM. Vanessa shared important Key Club information with our clubs prior to the fun. Many different topics were discussed, including a possible Halloween social! Clubbers then spent the day swimming, playing water volleyball, and socializing with other clubbers. All clubbers were also treated with the delicious food prepared by an amazing chef, our advisor, Mr. Castañeda. Everyone that went had a great time! Photos by Johana Rodriguez

Not only are we contending to be a Top 25 Club in our first official year as a club by making it to the Top 25 at the first quarter mark, but we are also growing. I could not believe how many people made it to our first meeting of the year last week. There had to be at least seventy potential clubbers! Body copy hereKey Hellogoes fellow
I remember when we first started our club for the 2014-2015 school year. We had about 50 something people at the first meeting and 37 members by the end of the year. Now look at us; we have over 70 potential members, 19 of which have already paid their dues! We have already qualified for the Early Bird Award from Key Club International. I’m excited to see what you all have to offer our club and to what extent we can improve our community and school. Insert photo Keephere up the
