ICON

ICON has been by far my most amazing experience ever. Being able to interact with so many people from all over the world and learning that the passion of serving runs deeper than I could have ever imagined. Attending ICON helped me see that it really is the little things that matter. I learned new skills that will help my club grow stronger. Even though we did not come home with any hardware for our single service project or video, it just made us want to try harder for next year. We left excited for what next year would bring and we were determined to work harder to achieve our goals. The convention was not the only exciting thing we experienced in Atlanta. We went to the World of Coke, Stone Mountain Park and Six Flags over Georgia! Over all it was an unforgettable trip. Next year we will DOMINATE in San Antonio. ICON 2017 won’t know what hit them!

Hangin’ Out will begin once again in September! In which state was Key Club first established? A. Washington B. California C. Utah D. Arizona Answer: B

DQ Miracle Treat Day On July 28th, little old me got make a change. That’s right, I was able to change the lives of so many children and I got to do so while eating a blizzard. I must say, change never tasted so good (pun intended). How many times have we said, “I want to make an impact in this world?” However, we can all agree that it is usually more talk than action. This time was different, thanks to Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day I really got to make a difference. The best part was that I wasn’t the only one, I was joined by so many different Key Clubbers and civilians nationwide! On this day, Dairy Queen donates one dollar for every blizzard that is purchased to the Children’s Miracle Network. The Children’s Miracle Network provides treatment for children with cancer, traumatic injury, genetic diseases, and premature babies. In fact, 62 children receive care every minute, approximately one child per second! Our donations will be used to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care. I don’t know about you, but that sounds like a pretty darn sweet deal to me! With such a wonderful and delicious opportunity presenting itself, Division 1S held a social at the Dairy Queen in North Crowley. Everyone had a great time enjoying their delicious treat, while getting to meet the many wonderful Key Clubber within our district. What a wonderful time spent with the Key Club family while knowing a real difference was being made.

Now a word from our President‌ Hey guys it’s Merlyn, I would like to thank all of you for making this year amazing. I honestly can't express how happy and proud I am to be part of this club. I have learned so much. Everyone has taught me something different. We have grown together as a club and shared many experiences together. I will miss all our graduates! They have set great examples of servant leadership for our club. We will all begin a new journey in our life and I hope we are able to look back and remember the great experiences you had with the Everman Key Club. This past year was like a roller coaster with many ups and downs. However we are ready for a new year! We accomplished many remarkable things such as being ranked top 10 in the Texas - Oklahoma District last year. I am honored and excited to be the president of our club. I cannot wait to see all the beautiful things we will achieve this school year! I have high expectations for myself and our club as we move forward. I will do my best not to disappoint you guys as we continue to work together and take this club to another level.
