somehow double booked themselves with the Bash and an extended night for registration. When we noticed that

the office staff was drowning with the number of parents trying to register and limited help, a few dedicated Clubbers came to the rescue. Someone helped out with copies as registration packets were completed and another group helped parents tackle the online registration process. Several parents were struggling with the district’s new enrolling system, Skyward. Some were having trouble logging in, while others were having trouble with the instructions, and others just had invalid passwords. The task sometimes was quite overwhelming and there were times when there were too many people to help by myself, so it

The amazing part was when we were told that the office staff was in tears at the end of the evening and all they could say is that there was no way they would have made it without the support of Key Club! ~Manuel Quintana~

Back to School Trailblazing Event On August 20, the Everman High School Key Club

volunteered to assist with the Youth Empowerment Trailblazing Event hosted by our former principal Nita L. Page. Clubbers worked as greeters, assisted in handing out school supplies, and helped out at the hot dog station. This wonderful event primarily served the community that reside within Tarrant County. Since school is starting on August 22 for most Tarrant County students, the event provided students with school supplies, haircuts, vision tests, and a free lunch. Clubbers had such a wonderful time seeing all the smiling faces and all the excited children as they

received their school supplies. They were elated that they now had all the supplies they needed to start a successful school year. In addition to being able to see all the happy faces, we were grateful we could volunteer at an event sponsored by our generous former principal, whom we all have missed dearly It was a great opportunity to be able to serve and catch up

Everman ISD Convocation 2016 Every year school district’s mark the beginning of their school year by celebrating Convocation with their staff members. This year the event took place on August 18th. If you have never taken part in this type of event, you are in for a treat. Convocation is kind of a Pep Rally for all staff members. It's really fun because you get to see the teachers fun side instead of their stressed out side! Most of them are really pepped up and ready for a good time. Our assigned task was to escort the special guests that were attending the event. We got to see the mayor of Everman, some district board members, a few clergy members, and lots more. We returned to the entrance and greeted all the teachers as they arrived. We did that for a good hour and once we were done we got to sit and watch what the show. They had several guest speakers talk to them about how our education is important. They even had a comedian that came out and performed about a thirty minute set. The superintendent highlighted the academic goals for the school year, but the highlight of the event was when they celebrated the many victories from last year. The event concludes with the awarding of the Sprit Stick. The cheerleaders came out to choose which school was most spirited. Townley Elementary was the winner!

This is the second year we help out at Convocation and we had a better time this year. I cannot wait to see how Superintendent Amos is going to outdo himself next year.
