This event provides our club an opportunity to give back to the Greater Fort Worth Community. Many different clubs, organizations, and churches from all over the Forth Worth area joined together to walk the streets of Inner City Fort Worth to provide toys for children.

Many of these families cannot afford to give their children gifts for Christmas, so this event is a blessing. One parent said, “This is truly a blessing and you are all wonderful for doing this.” Hearing that, many clubbers vowed to volunteer for the event again next year.

Toys, Toys, Toys All Around! In preparation for the Beautiful Feet Ministries Christmas Caroling Blitz, the Everman High School Key Club asked the Everman Joe C. Bean High School to come together and donate as many toys or warm clothing as they could. And boy, did they deliver! We received all sorts of teddy bears, video games, books, board games, coats, gloves, scarves, blankets; basically, we received as much as Santa’s Workshop could produce! One extremely generous giver was former EHS Key Club member, Gabriel Perez. He totally showed out; lugging around quite literally a sleigh’s worth of toys. He was modest in his response when someone pointed out how much he had donated. He said that he would do as much as he could to help others who weren’t quite as fortunate as he was. This is the first year that we had enough gifts to provide every house we were assigned a gift for all their children. We even went down streets that had not been covered to distribute more gifts. We were blessed beyond what anyone can imagine. Here is a big thank you for all of you that donated to the cause. Truly, from the bottom of all of our hearts, and especially from the hearts of those children and parents that benefitted from your generosity, thank you so much, and have a blessed new year! ~Ysela Rodriguez~

New Year, New Outlook Hey Clubbers! It’s December, and obviously that means that the end of 2016 is right around the corner. While it is a little sad to say goodbye to the memories we have all made this year, it’s also a time to look forward to what 2017 has in store for us. As a Key Club member, you should strive to keep a positive outlook for the new year. Whether that is by finding new charities to work with and maybe even volunteer for, or simply just spending more quality time with friends and family. This time of year also provides us an opportunity to make changes in our personal and/or professional lives. New Year’s Resolutions can range from losing weight to becoming a better person. It would be amazing if everyone decided to help spread happiness and cheer all around the world. Hey, why don’t you try inviting you friends to a Key Club Meeting! Who knows, maybe in doing that, you can bring some philanthropic cheer into their lives, and then they can pay it forward by helping other people. Whatever you choose to do, do it in the spirit of Key Club! ~Ysela Rodriguez~

Words of Wisdom from A Charter Member Hi. My name is Sarai Serrano and I have been a member of the Everman High School Key Club since my freshman year. Now I can see that I made a great decision by joining this organization. I originally joined Key Club because I knew that having a large number of clubs on my resume would look great to college admission counselors. The reason I stayed in the club was because I realized that I loved the feeling I felt deep inside when I helped people. This was the first year that I participated in the Beautiful Feet Christmas Caroling Blitz and I have to say that, by far, it was the most emotional thing I have ever done. The very first house I walked up to had three little boys in it. We gave that little boy a toy car, and he started to cry because he was so happy. I almost started crying right then too, because I saw just how much this little piece of metal and plastic meant to him. I highly recommend to each and every one of you to join Key Club and to volunteer to be a part of the Beautiful Feet Christmas Caroling Blitz. It will change your life and you heart forever. ~ Sarai Serrano~
