BA (Hons.) GRAPHIC DESIGN Module Code:
Level
6
Module Title:
Learning Outcomes:
BRIEF TITLE: Create a cookbook that helps to get people cooking Brief: Create a cookbook that has a range of simple recipes that use a small amount of ingredients to help get people cooking no matter their skill level.
Background: A cook book that consists of 15 different recipes that contain no more than 5 ingredients, all to get people who feel like they cant cook or don’t want to cook and show them how easy it can be.
Considerations: Have to consider the language that is used if a beginner was going to reading it, using technical terms wont help. I also have to consider the imagery I will be using and how that might work across the pages of the book. The layout of the book should also be considered, how does it read? Should there be a lot of information? Or a small amount?
Mandatory Requirements: A book of at least 30 pages with a range of images and information on the recipes.
Target Audience: People who feel they can’t cook or cant be bothered to cook or anyone who wants to try something interesting and different but simple recipes.
Tone of Voice: Easy to understand and read. With playful use of images.
Deliverables: A book containing 15 recipes with images of the food and instructions on how to make the recipe all in a informative and engaging book.
This brief should be read in conjunction with the module brief. Please refer to module handbook for module brief, submission deadline, graded outcomes and further reading.
