Module Title:

Learning Outcomes:

BRIEF TITLE: Create a set of posters for a one off Empire magazine that works across a number of different languages. Brief: Create a set of typographic posters for films that work across a range of different languages for the movie magazine Empire.

Background: Working across different languages can be hard to do especially when trying to convey the same message, but it can produce a visually interesting piece of type work. The poster will form part of a one off Empire magazine.

Considerations: I have to consider the different languages that are going to be used and the films that I choose and how they can be represented using type. Also how do you render the poster in a new language and/or alphabet, while preserving its general look and character?

Mandatory Requirements: 4 posters and there alternatives in the another languages

Target Audience: Film fans and anybody who is interested in type and how it works across different languages.

Tone of Voice: Playful with the use of type

Deliverables: 8 posters, 4 in English and another 4 alternatives in different languages.

This brief should be read in conjunction with the module brief. Please refer to module handbook for module brief, submission deadline, graded outcomes and further reading.
