All around you, amazing things are happening on the cape... and here is how your family can explore it Where Is It? ON Delaware Avenue, near the Coast Guard base. Why Should I Go? THE Nature Center offers adult, family, and children’s programs year-round. From guided kayaking trips, cycling tours of the island, family hikes, private garden tours, beginner birding field trips, to wildlifefriendly gardening programs, there’s always something to explore. One program highlight is the Harbor Safari, where participants pull a 40-foot seine net through the waters of Cape May Harbor to discover a fascinating array of ocean life. Summertime brings children’s day camps, Monday through Thursday throughout July and August, for preschool through ninth grades. It’s designed with summer visitors in mind – campers may attend just one day or all summer. Friday morning children’s programs feature nature stories and arts and crafts. The Nature Center’s day doesn’t end with the setting sun. Join them for evening family programs, including full moon kayak tours, evening campfires, and moonlight beach strolls in search of bats, ghost crabs, and other nocturnal creatures. Fall is the time to enjoy the change of seasons and the panoramic view from the welcome center’s three-story observation tower. Join migrating Monarchs for a tour of the wildlife meadows and themed gardens. Anything Else I Should Know? THE Center features beautiful gardens, picnic tables, nature store, and public exhibits featuring horseshoe crabs, pipefish, sea stars, and more. Exhibits are free and open to the public.
