Presidential Vision Welcome to your first -- and hopefully, not your last! -- meeting with Eskilstuna 2021. My name is Eirik, and I am the President in charge of the Academic Team for the session. Glad to see you! Glossing over the tired phrases of ‘life returning to normal’, I envision this session not to be a return to the old ways, but rediscovering EYP as a concept and the content we produce. It may seem far-fetched, but I believe that we, together, can develop a more intuitive, easier way of doing EYP. At the heart of the vision are the Chairpersons. As the people closest to the delegates, it is essential for the session that you are happy and thriving with your work. As such, the Board -- the people who are selected as Vice Presidents and I -- will aim to make the pre-session work much more flexible and enjoyable than before. As for the Vice Presidents, I want to express the level of freedom and support you will receive from each other, myself and the rest of the officials. For the experienced applicant we can offer new challenges and possibilities, while for fresh VP prospects you will never stand alone. With one of EYP’s best (subjectively speaking) national committees behind us, this will be an unforgettable experience. All this might sound very broad. While the VPs will have much to say for the Academic Team work, the Topic Overview process has already been redeveloped to provide information in an easier, more accessible manner to the delegates while spreading the work out for the Academic Team members. Rigid, rather unengaged six-page-long Topic Overviews are swapped with more dynamic work. Instead of four weeks of intense work and strict deadlines, you will write a short introduction accessible for all delegates meant to inspire the masses, and then delve into a ‘Deep Dive’ where we inspire those delegates who have a special interest in your topic. Finally, we’re aiming to have a social media presence where you can keep others engaged in your topic already from the get-go. While this may sound like a lot, I believe it will be a smoother ride than ever before. And you’ll be there in the middle of it, reshaping it to your own schedule and ideas. This is a session you cannot afford to miss. With this, I hope to have inspired you to apply to our session. Close to Stockholm, with some of EYP’s most engaged delegates, I’m sure we’ll have a wondrous experience. Waiting to see you in Eskilstuna, Lars Eirik Hovland (NO/SE) President of Eskilstuna 2021 - 11th Eastern Regional Session of EYP Sweden
Editorial Vision
Dear future Media Team Member, I am delighted to be writing this as the editress of Eskilstuna RS. It is a pleasure to be part of the leadership of the session and I am sure it will be a success. I am looking for 1 or 2 editorial assistants and up to 7 journalists who want to be part of Eskilstuna RS 2021 who together will be able to unlock their full potential in an open and friendly environment. Freedom and Creativity One of my main objectives is for the members of the media team to feel and really have the freedom to create the projects that they deem appropriate, being able to get out of the conventional and what we have already seen so far. I am looking for people who are willing to leave the marked path that we have been seeing for some time and are willing to innovate. Hybrid work For a year and a half ago we have been seeing work by media teams that we had not been used to. For this session I would like not only to focus on what we have already done so far, but also to be able to incorporate and adapt the new type of projects that were born during the pandemic and postpandemic and to be able to implement them in our session and take advantage of this. Inter-team collaboration Sounds obvious right? Although it is something that we all believe is essential during and before the session, it does not always happen. I want to ensure that the teams that need it can count on the help and collaboration of the media team, so from the beginning I will be open to all kinds of suggestions regarding this issue. Safety and wellness I wanted to emphasize that at all times you will be working in a healthy and safe space, at no time is it intended that being part of the team has a negative impact on any aspect of any of the team members. Hope to see your apps! Marta Estallo Arnal (ES) Editor of Eskilstuna 2021 - 11th Eastern Regional Session of EYP Sweden

David Wright (IE) Editor
Magnus Andersson (SE) Project Manager
Presidential Vision Dearest potential applicant, First and foremost, I am beyond thrilled to see your interest in my Presidential Vision for Malmö 2021 - 11th Southern Regional Session of EYP Sweden! I am Alara Özdarendeli from Turkey and I have the great pleasure of being the President of this Session. We are looking for diligent, innovative and cooperative individuals to join us in this exciting journey, and I sincerely hope you will decide to be one of them when you have read through my vision below. Regional sessions are milestones in one’s EYP journey, as they are usually where people experience their respective roles for the first time. Therefore, one crucial aspect of our work will be to highlight that Malmö 2021 will be a session of freedom, opportunities and lessons. The Academic Board of Malmö will strive for creating a secure environment that appreciates differences and innovation to encourage the Chairpersons to look for the unknown, unusual and impossible. The collaboration within the Academic Team will be of high importance for an optimum learning environment. Whatever we do at this session, we will do it through solidarity, support and unity, which in return will provide us with many valuable perspectives. The last year and a half proved to be very difficult for all of us. With the long-awaited return of physical events, I envision Malmö 2021 as a safe place for every participant in which they can put all their daily concerns aside and truly enjoy the process. People fulfill their potential when they feel respected, heard and included, and the Academic Board will put an emphasis on the wellbeing of Chairpersons, both in academic and social settings to support them through anything they do. Similarly, I will be working closely with my Vice-Presidents, serving as their support system, sharing my insights, and giving them ownership over our work whenever possible in hopes of providing them with an enjoyable experience as well as various learning opportunities. I do believe that the digital era taught us many lessons and broadened our horizons in terms of how we approach our responsibilities. I would like to utilise the digital knowledge we’ve acquired at Malmö 2021 to ensure we propel forward as a Team starting from the first meeting. Likewise, I will actively encourage my Vice Presidents and Chairpersons to use the various opportunities the digital platforms bring to render our work more efficient and productive. Inspired by our Session theme “Proclaiming Peace & Declaring Democracy”, Malmö will serve as a place for the members of the Academic Team to implement the core principles of democracy into their work. The Academic Board will warmly welcome any new ideas and approaches, take any feedback and implement it whenever possible to step forward. This also means that Chairpersons will be welcome to propose their ideas, give their input on some executive decisions and run their projects should they wish to do so. I have to warn you beforehand that we will aim to push our limits, form our unique approaches to some essential elements of Chairing and learn a lot from this experience. Although it will be a significant amount of work and effort, we will leave Malmö with great satisfaction about our growth in the end, so I can assure that it will all be worth it! If you are up for a challenge and an opportunity to help you grow both as an EYPer and an individual, Malmö 2021 is the right place for you! Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at alara.ozdarendeli@eyp.org.tr. I am looking forward to meeting you first digitally and then in Malmö this November! Warmest regards, Alara Özdarendeli (TR) President of Malmö 2021 - 11th Southern Regional Session of EYP Sweden
Editorial Vision Dear potential applicants, Thank you for taking interest in applying to Malmö 2021 - 11th Southern Regional Session of EYP Sweden. My goal as the media team is to show the importance of the often understated work we will conduct. I want potential applicants to know that in their role, they will be given freedom and ownership over the work they conduct. I am looking for creative individuals who will bring innovations and find new ways to conduct the work of the team. The main focus will be put on one's well-being and collaboration with the academic team to deliver quality content. The Editorial Team will ensure a creative and challenging atmosphere for journalists and hence make room for individual growth and development in means of media experience. I plan on holding extensive project brainstorming and development modules with clear feedback as to best produce meaningful projects. Collaboration and active involvement will be vital aspects for the team’s success. A successful team can create new concepts and use the resources available to produce different content. The usage of social media is clearly a strong way to distribute the media projects to the outside world. We want to display to the rest of the network the work that we can be proud of as a team. If you are eager to contribute and bring creativity to the session, I highly recommend applying. Shall you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. Best wishes, David Wright Editor of Malmö 2021 - 11th Southern Regional Session of EYP Sweden

Borås 2021 - 10th Western Regional Session of EYP Sweden
Lena Kreft (DE) President
Alina Modrzejewska (SE) Editor
Sigrid Hägerå (SE) Project Manager
Presidential Vision Dear reader, Thank you for your interest in the Borås Regional Session 2021. Under the session’s theme “Safe and Secure - a Sustainable Future”, the participants of this session will discuss opportunities to make a difference for those growing up in vulnerable and exposed conditions. With this important and interesting topic to discuss, I am now looking for two Vice-Presidents and seven Chairs to facilitate the debates. Regional Sessions are a great place to try out new roles for the first time. This also applies to the role of Vice-President. If you are reliable and eager to learn more about the skills and responsibilities of a Vice-President, I would be more than happy to welcome you as a member of the academic board. As part of the pre-session preparation, the Vice-Presidents will also receive a special training to learn more about their new responsibilities and qualities. If you are also interested in developing others and improving your leadership abilities, Borås will be the session for you. If you are looking forward to giving chairing a chance, Borås will also be there to guide you on this journey. You will be supported by the academic board and will receive training prior to the session to prepare you for the session itself. The academic board will also help you identify your strengths and areas for improvement and give you advice on how to develop these. All in all, I hope that Borås will be a gentle and safe introduction to the wonderful world of chairing. I hope that this vision gave you a nudge of encouragement to apply to this session. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via lena.kreft@eyp.de. I am looking forward to working with you! All the best, Lena Kreft
Editorial Vision Dear reader, Thank you for showing interest in joining the Regional Session of Borås. A city in the west of Sweden, which stands for a broad cultural diversity. A place where cultures meet and mix is most definitely the perfect setting for an EYP session. I envision the Media Team of Borås to be a variety of individuals with different cultural backgrounds and ideas, with the openness to learn from each other. As a journalist, you will get the space to express yourself in a creative and personal way, without being limited to any form. I intend for our team to work together closely and in a good atmosphere but to simultaneously be able to express each one’s individuality. For the Editorial Team, my idea is to ensure that the MTM’s get the help and guidance they need, without restricting their freedom to create. The Editorial Assistants will also get the chance to take initiative in leading a team, as well as create their own projects and partake in creating and mastering the final output. Taking knowledge from the long period of digital sessions across EYP, we will implement some of those elements into our work. Before the Session’s start, we will hold digital modules so that you can come to the Session a little more prepared. It is extremely important for me that this does not become a stressful experience for anyone, and is rather a fun, joyful memory you can look back at. That being said, the work will be structured with the intention for you to have a good amount of time to finish and master your projects, without impossible deadlines. My goal for this Session is that every Team Member goes home, having learnt something new, or mastered the skills they already possess. The work will take place in a friendly and nonjudgemental environment, where you, as a Team Member can learn and grow. Hopefully, you are as excited to join the team, as I am to read your applications! See you in Borås, Alina Editor of Borås 2021 - 10th Western Regional Session of EYP Sweden
