An Introduction Welcome to the Regional Sessions of EYP Sweden 2019. We are delighted to see that you are considering applying as President to our Regional Sessions. This year they are taking place in Umeå, Eskilstuna, Gothenburg and Malmö; and, the Project Managers of the sessions are now looking to be joined by ambitious, dedicated and humble Presidents. For general knowledge, EYP Sweden encourages first-time Presidents to apply and emphasises that previous President-experience, although a merit, is not a requirement. As President of one of our regional sessions, you will be given extensive opportunities to help shape one of our remarkable projects; as well as grow personally during the process. Given that this year’s Regional Sessions serve under the overarching theme of the “UN Sustainable Development Goals and Agenda 2030”, Presidents will not only contribute to welcoming a new generation of EYP-members in Sweden; but also to provide a platform for discussions on some of the most pressing issues in the world. You will see by going through the material in this booklet that each Regional Session has three Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) dedicated to its vision. This dedication was preceded by the Project Managers, for each session, taking time to sit down and reflect on what societal conflicts that they wish to focus their session on. We now hope that the Presidents of our Regional Sessions will personalise their own dedication to the SDGs, and show their commitment to them by allowing their significance to show for the session participants. Moreover, apropos the locations of our Regional Sessions this year, we are proud to see the return of some very familiar host cities, and the addition of an absolutely new one. Umeå in our Northern Region last hosted a session in 2017 and is known for its cultural possibilities; hosting orchestras, operas, jazz festivals and a famous picture museum. Eskilstuna in our Eastern Region has never before hosted a session of this scale, but is very known for its industrial heritage. As a result, it offers some beautiful industrial-historical buildings which lines up gorgeously with the river flowing through the city. Gothenburg in our Western Region last hosted a session in 2018 and is Sweden’s second largest city. It offers everything from narrow street lanes to a major harbour area in the centre. Be sure to expect to hear some witty jokes during your time there, as the people there are known for their dedication to humour. Lastly, Malmö in our Southern Region last hosted a session earlier this year and is Sweden’s gateway to Europe. It is a diverse, relatively young, population living there and it has been expanding greatly over the past decades. Also, do not miss out on the famous falafel! There is no participation fee for officials at EYP Sweden’s sessions. EYP Sweden will provide partial travel reimbursement to Presidents. With all this said, I believe that the Regional Sessions of EYP Sweden 2019 can be considered introduced. We hope that this introduction gave you an idea of the projects we are committing to this year, and are with anticipation and excitement awaiting your application as President to one of them. Paul Stone - Vice President of EYP Sweden
ESKILSTUNA 2 0 1 9 9th Eastern Regional Session of EYP Sweden
Session Vision The vision for Eskilstuna 2019 - The 9th Eastern Regional Session of EYP Sweden falls under the theme of “Together We Stand For A United Future. The focus will be on human rights and how we can further improve the rights for Europeans and other people across the world. We unfortunately live in a world where people are constantly targeted based on their profession, sex, religious belief or sexual orientation and, are being harmed by either governments or various groups in society. The session will gather different people with different backgrounds, in the hope of bringing them together and inciting a thorough conversation on human rights abuses. It will serve to create a platform where everyone is free to share their own opinions, and cooperate to achieve a common solution. After all, if we want to achieve anything to improve human rights; we need to do it together.
When The session will be held in Eskilstuna from the 14th of November for Officials to the 17th of Novrmber.

UMEÅ2019
7th Northern Regional Session of EYP Sweden
Session Vision The vision for Umeå 2019 - The 7th Northern Regional Session of EYP Sweden. 2019 was a year of first steps. The first image of a black hole, immense breakthroughs in the field of fusion energy, and much more. With 2020 just around the corner, many of the European Union’s goals and frameworks approach their final year of reach. For instance, the Horizon 2020 framework and the EU 2020 Climate and Energy Goals will need to be evaluated and renewed in some capacity as they in 2020 have run their line. Therefore, it is now more important than ever to look to our future. The vision for this session is to welcome 2020 but also look beyond our successes and failures towards the future of our world. Focus will be placed on the rapid, technological advancement that is being made, how it will impact us; and, how we as a society should harness it to optimise the use of technology in achieving societal targets.
When The session will be held in Umeå from the 7th of November for Officials to the 10th of Novrmber.

MALMÖ2019
9th Southern Regional Session of EYP Sweden
Session Vision The vision for Malmö 2019 - 9th Southern Regional Session of EYP Sweden is to place the climate and environment at the absolute centre. Environmental issues, such as those regarding sustainability, energy production, and consumption of plastic will be shed focus. Given the current situation in the world, it is of vital importance that these are discussed by the youth of today, and that individuals practise the “green way” of life. Not least has the environment strikes across the world showed that there is a willingness among the youth to combat one of the greatest threats to the planet’s existence; and therefore, it is time to give them a platform for action. This vision is of course rooted in our dedication to the message that the environment and climate need to be prioritised, and that a change is needed in our society. It is equally important for us to give people hope that a change is actually possible, and to show individuals that they have power to be a catalyst for difference. When climate-and environmental issues enter the political debate, it is often that people feel that the power to make a difference lies exclusively with the major companies and politicians. However, as a consumer, everyone can change their habits and behaviours, raise their voice and express what they believe in. This power becomes greater and greater the more people that mobilise to support climate action, and when they have the opportunity to exchange ideas and thoughts. Therefore, we want Malmö 2019 - 9th Southern Regional Session of EYP Sweden, to be a forum that facilities a change for a ‘greener’ tomorrow, by connecting youth and empowering them with the opportunity to work, discuss and learn about the environmental- and climate issues, that our world is facing. The session will not only serve as forum; it will also practise a ‘green’ way of life. For example, the session rejects the use of disposable material, minimises the use of plastic and palm oil, keeps transportation at foot, and offers only vegetarian food. This, solely for the purpose of keeping the climate footprint at a minimum.
When The session will be held in Malmรถ from the 28th of November for Officials to the 1st of December.

GOTHENBURG 2 0 1 9
8th Western Regional Session of EYP Sweden
Session Vision The vision for Gothenburg 2019 - The 8th Western Regional Session of EYP Sweden . Personal development is a lifelong process being universal and yet so individual. It happens by embracing positive change and becoming a better version of oneself; and today, more than ever, the world is in need of better individuals. With the increasing presence of extremism and hatred in Europe, and the constant threat of climate change, the world needs young people with the potential to change the world. Therefore, our vision for this session is to allow the participants to reach their maximum potential and develop individually, as well as to give them the opportunity and tools to accept and educate themselves in the mindset of others. Because without acceptance there is no development; and, without development there is no future. Therefore, let us embark on the Path To Potential.
