Time…something that can’t be bought but can be celebrated. In just a matter of days, 2024 is ending, making me think even more about this precious sequence of existence and events called time. And what is the best way to keep track of moments in our lives? Many brands have created masterpieces in the form of watches and timeless jewellery to help us literally see time passing or register our story in heirloom pieces. With Jewellery Arabia happening this month, we bring a selection of incredible new creations from the world of timepieces and gems.

Our fashion pages showcase a selection of winter trends, and we explore the universe of scents on our beauty spread. Our monthly spa session happened at SPA InterContinental, InterContinental Bahrain, for a scrub, comprehensive full-body massage and facial.

We attended the BRICS+ Fashion Summit and Moscow Fashion Week, and you can read about our impressions and highlights of these stylish events with educational talks, emerging talents and well-known Russian brands.

Our travel pages feature an unforgettable visit to Portrait Milano in the heart of Milan, Italy –a property that exudes style and heritage.

We love eating really good food! In this issue, we dined at Oliveto, an Italian eatery that has been open for over 20 years, proving that consistency and high-quality ingredients are key elements for success. We tried some of the new dishes added to the menu.

In the motoring section, you’ll find a British automobile, the Lotus Eletre S – a fully electric, highperformance SUV.

It was a pretty busy month and I hope you enjoy reading about our adventures as much as we had fun embarking on them!

Enjoy every minute of your November.

All That Glitters

Inspired by the world of jewellery and watches, we’ve picked five pieces that can add an awesome effect to your looks.

Pomellato is known for its distinguished coloured gemstones and in these ICONICA rings, they come as a delicate constellation to add a touch of joy to your workwear outfit.

Secret watches are one of our favourite timepiece creations. Ferragamo Secret comes in models that, at first glance, appear like bracelets, but by pressing the top panel, they open up and reveal a dial adorned with precious stones and diamonds.

A black watch is a timepiece that can add an edgy touch to your outfit. Versace brings its DV One model in a mini 28mm version, available in all-black or all-white with details in gold for sophisticated yet contemporary timekeeping flair.

Blush tones of pink are very popular this season, and this Philipp Plein Heaven model can add a feminine touch to your outfits – the perfect detail for the trendy coquette style.

The iconic Fabergé eggs are also available as wearable jewels. The little pendants always hide a surprise – this item is part of the Fabergé in Bloom Heritage Lockets collection and comes with a delicate flower.

COUNTRY GLAM

Utilitarian styles meet urban aesthetics to explore the great outdoors – even though it may be just the urban jungle. Think checked patterns, long raincoats, not-too-warm jackets in earthy tones and boots – an outfit that will bring a cabin-in-the-woods kind of vibe to your look.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN

DRAMA QUEEN

Leather, or its sustainable alternative, faux leather, tends to steal the stage for dramatic looks during the cold season. Maxi dresses and long coats can create a theatrical effect while keeping it sophisticated. You can also compose an outfit with separates to achieve the same ‘Catwoman’ vibe.

KNIT WORK

It’s believed that knitting originated in the Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean around the 11th century. With the advances in textile creation, there are more suitable fabric options for our weather these days. However, the love for these warm crochet-style pieces will always be there during the cold days – we love the dresses and casual jumpers.

MOSCHINO
GIVENCHY

LADYLIKE CARDIGANS

This simple jacket is a good pick throughout the year; it can fight the freezing AC in malls during summer or warm you on the chilly nights during winter. Its buttons and round collar make it an easy-to-wear piece – a cute way to style it is to fasten only the middle buttons, leaving the top and bottom two undone.

MIDAS TOUCH

From the metallic trend, gold is by far the most elegant tone. However, it can be quite overpowering, and the best way to embrace the hue without overdoing it is to paint your accessories with it. A golden handbag or clutch will play the joker to elevate your evening looks.

ISABEL MARANT
CHLOÉ

AUTUMN RED

During the cold months, colours tend to move to the dark side and take on a sombre tint. Burgundy, maroon and auburn tones enter the stage to create elegant outfits. We suggest you pair them with light shades of pink and grey or go for a total crimson look.

FERRAGAMO

Fuelled by Style

Persol and Netflix have come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna with a new capsule collection of sunglasses inspired by the upcoming Netflix miniseries Senna. This highly anticipated show chronicles the legendary driver's life, career and enduring charisma. The collaboration introduces three unique styles, each embodying the spirit and era of the racer. Classic '80s-style acetate sweatbands meet modern designs, complete with Persol's iconic Supreme Arrow and Meflecto details. The collection's sleek silhouettes come in shades of black, Havana and striped brown, with lenses in polarised options of black, blue or green. Designed to evoke Senna's precision and confidence, the frames offer a contemporary twist on timeless shapes, from bold pilot designs to squared opticals, celebrating the uncompromising character of one of motorsport's greatest figures.

Maximalist Artisanry

Etro and Wolford (a brand known for its iconic tights) have joined forces to create a stunning new skin couture capsule collection, blending Etro's iconic maximalist designs with Wolford's craftsmanship. The creations combine intricate embellishments and ultrafine fabrics, resulting in body-hugging pieces that feel like a second skin. The collection reimagines Etro's signature motifs on sheer, stretchy silhouettes, including bodysuits, tights, catsuits and dresses. Three standout designs define this collection: Paisley Tattoo, Paisley Baroque and Metallic Jacquard. The Paisley Tattoo line features daring contrasts of opaque and transparent textures, evoking the effect of a tattoo. Paisley Baroque showcases intricate multicolour motifs on Satin de Luxe fabric, while Metallic Jacquard offers a shimmering play of copper, silver and gold against black bases, creating a sensual and luminous effect.

Timeless Scents

Jaeger-LeCoultre unveils three exclusive fragrances by French perfumer Nicolas Bonneville as part of its Made of Makers programme. Known for blending rare ingredients with innovative techniques, Nicolas has created 'The Timeless Stories', 'The Celestial Odyssey' and 'The Precision Pioneer' to reflect the craftsmanship of the maison's iconic watchmaking. Each scent embodies a minimalist approach with high concentrations of noble ingredients, ensuring a refined, long-lasting sillage. Drawing inspiration from Jaeger-LeCoultre's heritage, these olfactory signatures evoke the same precision and creativity found in horology. This partnership further enriches the Made of Makers programme, which celebrates the intersection of art and craftsmanship across diverse disciplines.

The Fabric of Survival

Burberry has recreated the iconic garments worn by Sir Ernest Shackleton and his crew during their 1914 Antarctic expedition for National Geographic's documentary Endurance Shackleton and his men were equipped with Burberry gabardine, a fabric invented by Thomas Burberry in 1879, which was both lightweight and weather-resistant. This durable material helped the team survive the harsh conditions of Antarctica after their ship was trapped in ice. The documentary, directed by award-winning filmmakers Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, Jimmy Chin and Natalie Hewit, tells the story of Shackleton's historic voyage. As part of the film, Burberry produced replicas of the original garments, highlighting the brand's longstanding connection to explorers and their quests.

A Fresh Take

Louis Vuitton’s most iconic bag now has a reversible version: Neverfull Inside Out.

Louis Vuitton has introduced a reversible version of its iconic Neverfull tote, aptly named the Neverfull Inside Out. This new iteration brings a fresh twist to a beloved design, allowing wearers to flip the bag inside out, revealing its previously hidden interior as a stylish exterior. It’s a playful yet functional evolution of a timeless classic.

The Neverfull Inside Out offers versatility in both form and function. The bag’s interior pocket, typically tucked away, now becomes a defining feature when reversed, showcasing the maison’s signature stamp. Its durable lining ensures the bag is just as sturdy, no matter which side is on display, making it ideal for everyday use. The larger MM size comes with additional hooks, enabling it to transform into a hobo shape, and a versatile strap for multiple carrying options, making it perfect for transitioning from work to the weekend.

It comes in two styles: the classic Monogram canvas or the grained leather interior, available in rich hues of black and brown. For those seeking a bolder look, a textile version combines coated canvas with vibrant fabric linings in saffron, red and rose pondicherry.

The compact BB version adds an extra element of style, with its interior zipped pouch becoming an external design detail when reversed. This size is perfect for cross-body wear and is available in various colours, including black, dark fango (khaki) and rose pondicherry. Additionally, a seasonal GM size with travel patches will debut soon as part of the upcoming Flight Mode collection, offering an even more luxurious and travel-friendly option.

Custodian of RARE GULF PEARLS

When we think about Bahrain, it’s impossible not to think about pearls and how they are deeply rooted in the country’s history. This month, we had the pleasure of interviewing Mohamed Abdulrazzaq Al Mahmood, CEO of Al Mahmood Pearls, to understand his connection with this scintillating and precious gemstone.

“These imperfections remind us of the beauty of uniqueness and the grace of nature’s unpredictability. They educate us to value authenticity.”
– Mohamed Abdulrazzaq Al Mahmood

OHLALA – The universe of pearls and jewellery has always existed in your life. What fascinates you most about natural pearls?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – Natural pearls captivate me because of their organic structure and the enigma surrounding their origin. A sense of amazement and a link to the ocean’s depths are provided by each pearl, which is a monument to the artistry of nature.

OHLALA – Natural pearls are, most of the time, not perfectly round. Do you think their beauty lies in their imperfection? What can we learn from them?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – Absolutely, their allure stems from their individuality. These imperfections remind us of the beauty of uniqueness and the grace of nature’s unpredictability. They educate us to value authenticity.

OHLALA – We believe the exploration for pearls has changed over the years. What has been the most significant change?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – Pearl diving has changed significantly. Previously, it required four to six months of arduous travel. Today, technology allows divers to stay underwater for hours at a time, allowing one person to complete the task of 50 divers.

OHLALA – Do you have any particular story from all your years of working with pearls to share with us? Any memorable moment to highlight?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – One remarkable experience was uncovering a rare, fully formed pearl on a dive. It was a reminder of the ocean’s neverending surprises and the delight of discovering nature’s hidden treasures.

OHLALA – You have been crowned as Sheikh of Pearls, not only for your legacy in the field but also for your unrivalled private rare natural pearl collection. Can you tell us more about it? Are they all from Bahrain?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – My collection is a curated tribute to the beauty of pearls, with numerous wonderful pieces. While they all originate from Bahrain, each pearl tells a distinct tale about the treasures of our magnificent island.

OHLALA – The Al Mahmood family is intrinsically linked to pearl trading. However, it also offers finely handcrafted gold jewellery. What are the inspirations for these pieces, and how important are they to the Al Mahmood brand?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – Our gold jewellery is inspired by the rich tapestry of Arabian heritage, as well as the elegance of minimalist design. These works of art are crucial to our brand and demonstrate our commitment to timeless artistry.

OHLALA – In your personal opinion, what is the role of jewellery? What is the meaning that it carries?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – Jewellery is a vessel for personal expression and everlasting elegance. It holds stories, emotions and experiences, forming an integral component of one’s identity and legacy.

OHLALA – What would you see yourself doing if you didn’t work in the world of pearls?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – I truly cannot imagine a life without pearls. They are an essential component of my identity and passion. Their beauty and history continue to inspire me.

OHLALA – What do you like most about Bahrain?

Mohamed A. Al Mahmood – Bahrain’s charm stems from its beautiful blend of tradition and modernity. Its rich history, welcoming people and vibrant culture make it an extraordinary place to call home. I especially appreciate its natural pearls, a testament to the nation’s unique heritage.

CASUAL CHIC STYLE WITH A TECHNICAL EDGE

The world of watches is fascinating, and from time to time, new collections are launched. However, for the iconic brand Patek Philippe, Cubitus is the first new series released in 25 years. It has been created to endorse the brand’s elegant yet sporty style.

Patek Philippe has achieved distinction by developing its own aesthetic style and creating some of the most renowned and immediately recognisable watches in the horological field. Creativity has always been at the core of the brand’s spirit, as evidenced by the vast array of collections and models spanning every segment of the timekeeping market. Each new model is an occasion for the manufacturer to express its unique vision of fine watchmaking, explore its imagination and invest in invention by drawing on numerous sources of inspiration to please the Patek Philippe customer’s different tastes.

Presented with a square-shaped case with rounded corners and a dial adorned with horizontal relief embossing, the new Cubitus comes in three versions. A visit to the Patek Philippe Museum in Geneva reveals that the company has already proposed, in its collections, a number of quadrangular-shaped cases (squares, rectangles, trapezoids and cushions), particularly in the Art Deco period, when this type of aesthetic flourished. However, for Cubitus, a wholly original and innovative design in which the square bezel adopts rounded corners has been proposed. It also stands out by its two attachments, one on either side of the case, and its two-part construction (back/caseband + bezel), with casing-up done from the front. The 45mm diameter is combined with a slim profile (8.3mm), ensuring timeless elegance on the wrist. Another particularity of the design is the use of contrasting finishes – vertical-satin-brushed on the flat of the bezel

and the front of the case and polished on the bezel’s chamfer and the case flanks. These finishing techniques require some 55 manual operations per watch, performed with the painstaking devotion to fine workmanship that distinguishes all Patek Philippe creations.

Cubitus Instantaneous Grand Date, Day and Moon Phases

Reference 5822P-001

This is a completely new model in platinum with original displays uniting a large-format date, the moon phase and the day of the week, all changing instantaneously. A new calibre, the 240 PS CI J LU self-winding movement, has been developed, and the company has filed six patent applications. The grand date is displayed in a double aperture at the 12 o’clock position by means of two co-planar disks (that is, placed on exactly the same plane).

A transparent sapphire-crystal caseback allows a view of the movement, with its 22-carat gold off-centre mini-rotor presenting the same horizontal decoration as the dial. Like all the Patek Philippe models in platinum, this timepiece has a diamond, here a baguette cut for the first time, set into the bezel at six o’clock. The modern, casual-chic style with a technical edge continues through to a navy-blue strap with cream contrast stitching in an ultra-resistant composite material embossed with a fabric motif and a Cubitus fold-over clasp in platinum.

Cubitus Reference 5821/1AR-001

The two-tone watch comes with a bezel and central bracelet link in rose gold combined with a caseband and lateral links in steel – a refined contrast highlighted by the alternating polished and vertical-satin-brushed finishes. With its two-part construction and screw-down crown, it is certified waterresistant for all aquatic activities to a depth of 30 metres. The blue sunburst dial with horizontal relief embossing combines elegance and legibility. This model houses the calibre 26-330 S C self-winding movement, a derivative of the base calibre 26-330 introduced in 2019. The sapphire-crystal display back affords a private view of the movement’s architecture and painstakingly finished and decorated parts, such as the central rotor in 21-carat gold, adorned with the same horizontal motif as the dial.

Cubitus Reference 5821/1A-001

In this model, the dial is adorned with horizontal relief embossing sporting an elegant shade of olive green illuminated by a fine sunburst motif. At the heart of this watch beats the same calibre 26-330 S C selfwinding movement that powers the Cubitus Reference 5821/1AR-001, with a central rotor in 21-carat gold adorned with a horizontal motif. The steel bracelet features a lockable size-adjustment system and a patented Patek Philippe fold-over clasp secured by four independent catches for comfort and safety.

REIMAGINED TREASURES

Discover exquisite pieces from the House of Chopard that are both classic yet refreshingly new.

Renowned for its craftsmanship and innovation, Chopard has evolved from a Swiss watchmaker to a leader in haute joaillerie under the Scheufele family. With a commitment to ethical practices, its latest collections, including Haute Joaillerie and Happy Diamonds, showcase fresh designs while honouring timeless artistry.

Happy Hearts

Since its debut in 2009, the Happy Hearts collection has become a signature of the brand. Known for its playful combination of dancing diamonds and heart motifs, the ensemble is now enhanced with the addition of blue aventurine glass. Aventurine, with its deep blue hue and golden flecks, adds a cosmic charm to the line, symbolising both serendipity and class. This sparkling new material is featured in both a pendant and a bangle, crafted from ethical 18-carat rose gold. The versatility of Happy Hearts is the choice it gives – wear the pieces solo or stacked.

Happy Diamonds

The Happy Diamonds collection infuses a sense of playful charm into high jewellery. Inspired by Caroline Scheufele’s (artistic director and co-president of Chopard) first design in 1985 – a clown pendant with free-floating diamonds – it now features a range of animal pendants. A teddy bear, ladybird, elephant and turtle, all crafted in ethical 18-carat rose gold, bring a whimsical touch to the line. What makes these pieces unique is the movement of the diamonds within the figures, creating a lively, twinkling effect that captures attention. Each animal carries a symbolic meaning: the teddy bear offers comfort, the ladybird symbolises luck, the turtle embodies wisdom and the elephant represents strength. Designed to be worn close to the heart, these pendants are not only delightful but also full of personal significance.

Haute Joaillerie

At the heart of Haute Joaillerie lies a celebration of yellow diamonds. Rare and captivating, these radiant-cut stones are showcased in a trio of pieces: a pair of earrings, a ring and a jewellery watch. The radiant cut, known for its 70 facets, amplifies the colour and brilliance of these diamonds, making them a stunning centrepiece. The ring, featuring a 26.36-carat yellow diamond flanked by two white half-moon diamonds, exemplifies the meticulous artistry. Crafted in ethical gold, these pieces not only speak to Chopard’s artistic heritage but also its commitment to responsibly sourced materials. This collection has the nuances of classic jewellery with a modern twist, where every facet reflects light and ethical values in equal measure.

Precious Lace

This collection draws inspiration from the delicate artistry of lace, translating this intricate craftsmanship into fine jewellery. It features earrings that resemble undulating waves, with stones set in ethical white or rose gold. Available in diamonds, rubies, sapphires and emeralds, these earrings are designed to enhance the wearer’s natural movement and grace. What makes this collection truly special is the balance between the traditional art of gem-setting and the modernity of the designs, where each piece reflects the expertise passed down through generations.

The 33mm case comes in pink gold with integrated bracelets for a seamless and sophisticated look. The bezel is set with 78 brilliant-cut diamonds (for a total weight of approximately 0.80 carats), which perfectly accentuate the silver-toned dial. The case is made with 18-carat 5N pink gold and is 7.68mm thick. It’s also water-resistant and tested at a pressure of five bar (approximately 50 metres).

The dial is translucent silver-lacquered, with a sunburst satinfinished base and velvet-finished external minutes track. It has 18-carat 5N pink gold applied hour-markers and hours and minutes hands, all highlighted with blue Super-Luminova with the date at three o’clock. NEW PHASE UNLOCKED

Celebrating designer Jean Schlumberger, Tiffany & Co. reveals the final chapter of its Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste.

Tiffany & Co. has once again uncovered a dazzling showcase of high jewellery with the final chapter of its Blue Book 2024: Tiffany Céleste collection. This latest release, part of a journey that began earlier this year, brings a celestial touch to the world of jewellery, with each piece paying tribute to legendary designer Jean Schlumberger’s fascination with the mysteries of the universe.

The new collection, led by Tiffany’s Chief Artistic Officer, Nathalie Verdeille, introduces four captivating stories – Owl on a Rock, Phoenix, Unicorn and Star Burst –each reinterpreting Schlumberger’s iconic designs. The collection celebrates the designer’s boundless imagination, rooted in his love for mythological creatures, celestial bodies and the enigmatic night sky.

The Owl on a Rock line reimagines one of Schlumberger’s most famous pieces, Bird on a Rock, in a nocturnal setting. The owl, symbolising mystery and magic, is perched atop a ‘moon rock’, with gemstones such as black opals, moonstones, tanzanites and celestial star sapphires capturing the essence of the night sky. Each brooch in this series is unique, and its design reflects the character and mood of the gemstone upon which the owl rests.

Next, the Phoenix breathes new life into this legendary bird that rises from the ashes. Schlumberger’s Phoenix brooch has long been a symbol of renewal, and this latest interpretation takes it a step further, with the fiery hues of rubellites and fire opals capturing the essence of the mythological creature. The collection includes a showstopping necklace adorned with 17 cushion-cut rubellites, totalling over 73 carats.

In the Unicorn creations, this mystical character, with its iconic swirled horn, inspires pieces featuring dazzling combinations of diamonds, pink and purple sapphires and an extraordinary 25-carat bicolour cushion-cut tourmaline.

The final chapter, Star Burst, is an ode to the brilliant luminosity of galaxies. These designs, highlighted by a necklace adorned with six oval cabochon crystal opals totalling over 64 carats, are a tribute to the stars and their ethereal beauty. The pieces capture the wonder and awe of the universe, making them striking additions to the collection.

A PETITE AFFAIR

Breitling’s new small Chronomat 28 indicates the brand’s dedication to fashion and function with multifaceted sporty-chic watches.

At 28mm, the Chronomat 28 is Breitling’s smallest Chronomat to date. Redefined and slender, this watch is an elegant take on the ‘80s classic, with a variety of sleek dial options. The possible dial choices include mother-of-pearl in blue or pink with lab-growndiamond indexes, stainless steel with a black mother-of-pearl dial and a lab-grown-diamond-set bezel and indexes, and twotone stainless steel and 18-carat red gold.

In this SuperQuartz calibre 72-powered chronometer, certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC), whether you opt for a stainless-steel or mixed-metal duotone Rouleaux bracelet, they all bear the signature raised rider tabs at the 15-minute mark on the bezel in their particular style.

“The Chronomat is a Breitling classic, a watch that signals a spirit of adventure and a certain confidence for all occasions,” says Georges Kern, Breitling’s CEO. “It’s versatile and all-purpose yet elegant, a true timepiece that looks great, wears well and says style all at once.”

The new Chronomat 28 carries Breitling’s Origins label after the Swiss luxury watchmaker transitioned from mined to lab-grown

diamonds over the last few years. Taken together with the slender new form, the Chronomat 28 is a watch that’s not just about style and versatility but also comes with a sustainable approach. Watches bearing the Origins label feature precious materials traceable to producers who have been selected for their responsibility to their employees, the local community and the environment. By March 2026, the brand intends for all products to carry this level of certainty regarding the traceability of source materials.

Founded in 1884, Breitling is a leading Swiss watchmaker. The company invented the modern chronograph and pioneered the navigational tool watch. Today, it is still breaking new ground as a casual, inclusive and environmentally friendly luxury brand. Its collections centre around air, land and sea pursuits –all captured in the brand’s distinctive modern-retro style. The quality of every watch movement is confirmed by its status as a COSC-certified chronometer, and the brand remains one of only a handful of independent watchmakers to produce its own manufacture calibres.

REVIVING THE ARCHIVES

Pomellato’s latest capsule collections revisit the brand’s iconic past while embracing the natural beauty of cabochon gemstones.

Italian jewellery house Pomellato, renowned for its bold designs and impeccable craftsmanship, is diving into its archives with MEMORIE D’ARCHIVIO (Archival Memories) to bring back two beloved collections, Mora and Mosaico. These collections, first introduced in the 1990s, have been reimagined for a modern audience. They honour the brand’s longstanding connection to nature and its signature gem cuts while showcasing how tradition can blend effortlessly with contemporary design. Central to both collections is Pomellato’s signature cabochon cut – a rounded, smooth cut that plays with the softness and natural beauty of the stones. This distinctive shape has become a hallmark of the brand, embodying its ethos of playful sophistication.

The Mora line takes its name from the Italian word for blackberry, reflecting its organic and playful nature. Rings from this collection feature clusters of smooth cabochon-cut gemstones nestled upon rose gold bands, creating a striking contrast between the soft gem surfaces and the structured metalwork. Labradorite, chalcedony and diamonds dominate the collection, with each piece celebrating the beauty found on Earth. There’s a softness to the designs that makes them both approachable and luxurious, evoking the whimsical elegance Pomellato is known for.

Meanwhile, the Mosaico collection brings a different, more structured aesthetic. Inspired by the intricate art of mosaic, these rings combine geometric patterns with the natural allure of gemstones like sodalite, skarn and dendritic opal. Each gemstone is showcased in its raw beauty, with the delicate setting of brilliant-cut diamonds adding a sophisticated shimmer.

The line’s blend of colours and textures makes each piece feel like a work of art, with an eternal quality that elevates everyday elegance.

Creative Director Vincenzo Castaldo has carefully curated these collections to stay true to Pomellato’s vision. As he notes, these pieces are about more than just beauty – they represent the brand’s commitment to experimenting with unusual gemstones, bringing them into the spotlight through innovative designs.

Mastering MINIMALISM

The Master Ultra Thin Date by Jaeger-LeCoultre gets a modern makeover with a new blue-grey dial, that combines technical prowess with sleek design.

The Master Ultra Thin collection, inspired by Jaeger-LeCoultre’s long history of creating ultra-thin watches since the early 1900s, has always been a showcase of modern dress watches. With its clean lines, polished surfaces and gently curving lugs, this watch’s aesthetic is a testament to the maison’s approach to understated elegance. The minimalist design reflects the ethos of simplicity and refinement, making it the ideal choice for the modern wearer. Its slim profile, at just 7.8mm thick, not only adds to its aesthetic appeal but also reinforces the legacy of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s continuous innovation in watchmaking. One of the most notable features of this latest edition is its new dial colour. The blue-grey gradient dial offers a striking yet subtle update to the evergreen timepiece. The sunray finish plays beautifully with light, creating different visual effects depending on the angle. Anchoring the dial’s balanced design is the date window at six o’clock, which integrates seamlessly with the elongated trapezoid indexes and the Dauphine hands. The hands, polished on one side and satin-brushed on the other, reflect light differently, adding a layer of visual depth to the otherwise minimalist dial.

Beyond its design, it is a marvel of technical achievement. Powered by the automatic Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 899, the watch offers a reliable 38-

hour power reserve, ensuring precision and dependability. The movement, visible through the transparent sapphire case-back, is adorned with fine decorative finishes that are a hallmark of the brand’s watchmaking expertise. Côtes de Genève striping, blued screws and bevelled edges add to the allure, allowing enthusiasts to appreciate the meticulous craftsmanship that goes into each piece.

This model also stands out for its robustness. Like all Jaeger-LeCoultre timepieces, it undergoes the maison’s stringent 1,000-hour testing protocol. This in-house certification process goes well beyond industry standards, ensuring the timepiece meets the highest levels of precision and durability. The watch comes with a black alligator strap, which complements the cool tones of the steel case and blue-grey dial. Its folding buckle is easily interchangeable, giving the wearer the freedom to switch straps and adapt the watch to different occasions or styles, further enhancing its versatility. In terms of practicality, the Master Ultra Thin Date offers water resistance up to five bar (approximately 50 metres), making it suitable for everyday wear, while maintaining a sophisticated edge. Its 39mm case diameter is ideal for those who prefer a more classic-sized watch that sits comfortably on the wrist without being too imposing.

Jaeger-LeCoultre collections are available at Bahrain Jewellery Centre (BIC).

DIVING IN TIME

Oris launches two new watches that honour its legacy while incorporating modern design elements.

Oris has long been celebrated for its commitment to producing watches that balance robust functionality with timeless design. Known for its Swiss craftsmanship and innovative engineering, the brand has made a name for itself in the world of diving watches. This season, it introduces two new additions to its celebrated collections: the Divers Sixty-Five Date and the Divers Date, both of which reflect the brand's dedication to quality and nostalgia for past eras.

Divers Sixty-Five Date Cotton Candy “White Star"

This new timepiece brings a refreshing twist to the esteemed Divers SixtyFive Date collection. Inspired by the vibrancy of the original Cotton Candy series, this model stands out with its bright white dial. The design pays homage to the retro aesthetic of the 1960s, balancing modernity with vintage appeal.

Featuring a 38mm multi-piece bronze case and a unidirectional rotating bezel, both crafted to enhance durability. The use of bronze not only speaks to Oris's industrial heritage but also means that the watch will develop a unique patina over time, making each piece distinctly individual. The white dial provides a striking contrast to the warm bronze tones, ensuring clarity and readability with luminous hands and hour markers. Equipped with automatic movement, this model includes a date function, while its water resistance of up to 100 metres makes it suitable for both diving and winter sports. With its playful yet advanced design, it captures the essence of adventure, inviting wearers to enjoy life to the fullest.

Divers Date

To celebrate 60 years of its iconic dive watch, Oris reimagines its classic model in the new Divers Date collection. First released in 1965, the original watch embodied the spirit of a decade marked by adventure and innovation, with scuba diving culture burgeoning in popularity. The latest Divers Date series honours this legacy, retaining the vintage feel of the 1965 model while introducing thoughtful upgrades for a modern audience.

This new edition includes a more substantial silhouette, improved water resistance to 200 metres and a scratch-resistant ceramic bezel that enhances durability. Available in black, blue and beige dials, the collection's refined aesthetic takes inspiration from the industrial chic of the era. Custom typeface and bevelled hour markers bring additional clarity, allowing the watch to remain practical without compromising style. Each timepiece is powered by the Oris Calibre 733 automatic movement, offering a 41-hour power reserve and a see-through case back that gives wearers a view of its mechanics. Each piece includes the brand's quick-change strap system, allowing for effortless versatility between a metal bracelet and a black rubber strap.

According to Lukas Bühlmann, Oris's head of design, the aim was to encapsulate the joy and creativity of the 1960s. The result is a timepiece that not only honours its heritage but also appeals to modern sensibilities, making it a reliable companion for today's adventurers.

Oris collections are available at Bahrain Jewellery Centre (BJC). @oris @bahrainjewellerycentre

A NIGHT IN PARIS

From the House of Guerlain comes Patchouli Paris, a fragrance that captures the seductive glamour of the heart of France.

Guerlain’s latest creation, Patchouli Paris, is a tribute to the lively, nocturnal allure of the City of Light. The fragrance is part of the prestigious L’Art et La Matière collection and captures the untamed energy of Parisian nights, offering a sensory journey through the capital’s most iconic districts – from the lively streets of Montmartre to the opulent halls of the Opéra-Comique.

The distinctive note of this fragrance is patchouli, worked in overdose by Guerlain’s perfumer Delphine Jelk. Known for its earthy and woody depth, it takes centre stage in this composition. Its raw, slightly camphorous nuances are both captivating and challenging, adding an edge of mystery to the scent. Delphine enhances these qualities by pairing patchouli with warm sandalwood and musky notes, creating a blend that is both sensual and refined.

The fragrance opens with aldehydes, evoking the fresh, crisp air of a Parisian nightfall by the Seine. As the scent develops, the patchouli unfolds, mingling with powdery iris to mirror the wood-panelled theatres and lively concert halls. The dry-down brings a lasting impression of amber, vanilla and musk, a warm, amber-toned sillage that lingers long after the night is over.

The bottle is as captivating as the scent itself, adorned in a deep, incandescent red that symbolises the spirit of the capital city. A nod to Guerlain’s artistic heritage, the fragrance comes with two collector’s plates: one inspired by Christian Bérard, a renowned Parisian artist, and the other by feather worker Valérie Tanfin. These touches further enhance the perfume’s connection to the city’s upbeat artistic scene. The fragrance has the intoxicating enticement of the French capital after dark – a celebration of its creativity, energy and magnetic charm.

FROM VENICE WITH LOVE

Acqua di Parma brings a vibrant, limitededition holiday collection that celebrates Venetian heritage.

Acqua di Parma’s new Venetian Holiday Collection, envisioned by renowned architect and designer India Mahdavi, brings together her bold, playful style with the time-honoured glassmaking expertise of Salviati, a Murano furnace established in 1859. The result? A collection that transforms everyday objects into exquisite works of art. At the heart of the collection are limited and numbered editions of Murano glass bottles inspired by the brand’s iconic Art Deco motifs. These hand-blown 180ml bottles are crafted using traditional techniques and come in five striking colourways, each enhanced with intricate patterns. No two bottles are exactly alike, reflecting the centuries-old Murano craft, where molten glass is shaped into one-of-a-kind pieces. Alongside these exquisite bottles, the collection also features individually numbered Murano glass vases, each made with the same dedication to artisanal skill.

Colours are central to the collection’s identity, with amber and yellow capturing the essence of Italy’s sun-drenched landscapes and fruits, while green and Parme (a gentle lilac) add layers of natureinspired freshness. India’s creative vision finds further expression in gold foil details, bringing a festive sparkle to the bottles, vases and even baubles designed to evoke the playful elegance of the season. For those looking to enhance their festive homes, the signature candles and diffusers –Bosco, Caminetto and Panettone – bring the season’s scents to life. From the forest-fresh aroma of fir trees to the warmth of a fireside, each fragrance is designed to envelop your space in holiday cheer. The collection also features a handcrafted Advent Calendar, offering a daily indulgence in the world of Acqua di Parma, wrapped in gold-sprinkled beauty.

Responsible Beauty

This month, OHLALA chatted with Alan Sino, founder and CEO of Lunto, a skincare brand with Bahraini DNA and international expertise. Learn more about this local initiative.

OHLALA – Can you tell us about your career path and how the beauty world entered your life? What fascinates you about it?

Alan Sino – I’ve always been drawn to entrepreneurship, particularly projects that aim to make a lasting impression. My journey into the beauty world began through personal experiences that reshaped my understanding of skincare and self-care. I saw firsthand how natural ingredients could transform not only appearance but also confidence. This realisation sparked the idea for Lunto, a brand built around authenticity, low-impact and safe beauty solutions. What fascinates me most about the beauty industry is its ability to empower individuals. Beauty is more than aesthetics; it’s about self-expression, wellness, and embracing who we are. At Lunto, we aim to redefine beauty standards by offering products that are both effective and environmentally responsible, giving people a sense of confidence while contributing to a better world.

OHLALA – What does Lunto offer in terms of range of products?

What are the most popular items?

Alan – Lunto offers a carefully curated selection of beauty and skincare products designed with natural ingredients and eco-friendly concepts at their core. Our product range focuses on essential skincare needs, including moisturisers, cleansers and toners, serums and body care. One of our most popular product lines is the Gold Maid collection, with the standout item being our gold soap. This luxurious item has become a customer favourite for its ability to cleanse deeply while leaving the skin glowing and refreshed. At Lunto, every product reflects our philosophy, ensuring that our customers can feel good about both the results and the choices they make for their skin and the planet.

OHLALA – The brand uses premium natural ingredients. What are the ingredients that stand out for you? Any favourite?

Alan – We are committed to using premium natural ingredients that deliver real results while supporting skin health. Some special ingredients are gold extract, which stimulates collagen production, brightens the skin and adds a touch of luxury to daily skincare; Alpine rose, known for its ability to protect against environmental stressors; black bee honey, packed with antioxidants and moisturising properties and other natural elements. We incorporate a variety of plant-based extracts to enhance the effectiveness of each product, ensuring they are gentle yet powerful. If I had to choose a favourite, it would be gold extract. It not only gives the skin a beautiful glow but also symbolises the luxurious touch that defines Lunto.

“Sustainability is not just a goal for us – it’s the heart of who we are as a brand.”
– Alan Sino

OHLALA – Lunto also follows sustainable practices. Can you tell us about these eco-friendly aspects?

Alan – For us, sustainability is not just a trend; it’s a core principle that shapes every step of our process. We believe in creating beauty products that nurture both people and the planet. Our practices include ecofriendly ingredients, biodegradability, responsible sourcing, minimal and recyclable packaging, cruelty-free production, none of our products are tested on animals and we support local communities by collaborating with sustainable suppliers and small-scale producers. We value energy-efficient operations by reducing carbon emissions in our logistics and promoting eco-conscious behaviour in our offices. Through these practices, Lunto aims to inspire conscious consumption, offering customers products that align with their values and contribute to a better future. Sustainability is not just a goal for us – it’s the heart of who we are as a brand.

OHLALA – Lunto is a local brand; however, where is it formulated and produced?

Alan – While Lunto is proudly a Bahraini brand, our products are formulated in Switzerland and Germany and produced in Turkey. We chose to collaborate with these countries because of their exceptional expertise in cosmetic science and natural formulations. Switzerland and Germany are renowned for their high standards in research and development, especially with premium ingredients. Turkey was selected for production due to its advanced manufacturing capabilities and alignment with our values. This allows us to ensure that every product not only meets international quality standards but is also produced efficiently and responsibly. By blending local identity with global expertise, Lunto

delivers products that reflect our philosophy of combining nature, science and ethics to offer beauty solutions our customers can trust.

OHLALA – What, in your opinion, makes the brand unique?

Alan – What sets Lunto apart is our seamless blend of local authenticity with global expertise, ensuring that every product reflects a deep understanding of both our roots and cutting-edge cosmetic science. Our uniqueness lies not only in what we offer but also in how we offer it. We embody a commitment to natural beauty by using premium ingredients, all carefully chosen for their effectiveness and environmental responsibility. The Gold Maid line exemplifies our ability to deliver high-quality, resultsdriven products with a touch of elegance. Beyond products, we stand for a lifestyle, encouraging consumers to embrace their natural beauty, make mindful choices and contribute to a greener future. This philosophy resonates in everything we do, making Lunto not just a skincare brand but a movement towards conscious beauty.

OHLALA – What can we expect from future projects and products?

Alan – We are always evolving to meet the needs of our customers while staying true to our core values. Our team is actively working on expanding our product range with exciting new lines in development. We are exploring seasonal limited-edition collections that celebrate the changing rhythms of nature, offering unique products aligned with specific skincare needs throughout the year. Additionally, there are plans to introduce exclusive body care items that complement our existing range, ensuring that our customers have everything they need to feel confident from head to toe.

SCENTS AND SENSIBILITY

Perfumes have long been a part of our getting-ready routine, but have you ever considered the artistry and science behind them? Find out more with Bushra Hakim.

Imagine walking into a room and making an entrance without saying a single word. That's the power of perfume. It's like your own invisible signature, wrapping you in a cloud of allure, mischief or mystery – depending on the day. Whether you're a fan of something fresh and flirty or prefer a rich, smoky vibe, there's a whole world of scents waiting to be explored.

Long and Fragrant History

Perfume isn't just a modern-day indulgence. It's an ancient art form, with its roots going back to the temples of ancient Egypt around 3000 BC. Fragrances were seen as divine, believed to be gifts from the gods,

with priests offering incense during religious ceremonies. In fact, the word 'perfume' comes from the Latin phrase 'per fumum', meaning 'through smoke'. Even Cleopatra knew the power of scent – it's said she doused the sails of her ships with perfume, announcing her royal arrival with a trail of fragrance before anyone even laid eyes on her! Talk about a dramatic entry.

By the Renaissance, perfume had made its way to Europe, where it became a symbol of status and style. The French took it to a whole new level in the 18th century, turning fragrance into a full-blown fashion accessory. Southern France's Grasse region became the heart of the perfume industry and, to this day, it's still known as the world's perfume capital.

A Trip Through Your Nose and Brain

Now that we've had a whiff of history, let's get into the science of it. Did you know that our sense of smell is closely tied to our emotions and memory? That's because when you take a sniff, the scent molecules are processed by your olfactory bulb, which is directly connected to two areas of the brain: the amygdala and hippocampus, both of which play a role in emotion and memory. That's why the smell of fresh-cut grass might suddenly transport you back to childhood summers or why a certain scent might remind you of an unforgettable holiday. Perfume is basically bottled nostalgia and that's why the right scent can make such an impact on your mood. It's more than just an accessory – it's a mood booster, memory trigger and confidence enhancer all in one.

The Anatomy of a Perfume: Notes and Concentrations

Here's where it gets interesting! Every perfume has layers of 'notes' that work together to create its full scent profile. Think of them like a symphony:

Top Notes: These are the first notes you smell when you spritz. Light, fresh and fleeting, top notes like citrus or herbs fade quickly but give an immediate impression.

Heart Notes: Once the top notes evaporate, the heart notes come through, forming the core of the fragrance. Floral, fruity or spicy, these are the scents that linger for hours.

Base Notes: Finally, we have the base notes – the heavy hitters like vanilla, musk and amber, which last the longest and give depth and longevity.

Perfumes also differ based on their concentrations of aromatic oils. You've got:

Eau de Cologne (the lightest, with 2-4% fragrance oil), Eau de Toilette (a bit stronger at 5-15%), Eau de Parfum (a more potent choice with 15-20%), Parfum (the richest, with 20-30%, lasting the longest).

Fragrance Families

Fragrances fall into specific 'families' based on their primary notes and knowing which family you gravitate toward can make choosing a scent easier. Here are the main categories:

Floral: Romantic and feminine, with notes like rose, lily and jasmine.

Citrus: Bright, fresh and energising, featuring lemon, bergamot and mandarin.

Oriental: Rich, warm and often spicy, with hints of vanilla, amber and exotic spices.

Woody: Earthy and grounding, with sandalwood, cedar and patchouli.

Fresh: Clean, light and often green or aquatic, perfect for those who like something subtle.

The Art of the Signature Scent

Choosing a signature scent is like finding your scent soulmate – it's personal, intimate and says a lot about who you are. Whether you like to switch things up depending on your mood or stick to one fragrance that feels like you, finding the right one is an act of self-expression. The perfect smell can boost your confidence, leave a lasting impression and even become your invisible signature. When picking your aroma, don't just think about what smells good – think about what feels like you. Are you after something light and breezy for everyday wear or perhaps something rich and seductive for evening occasions?

Here's a little insider tip: your body's natural chemistry can change how a perfume smells on you, which is why that divine trace on your friend might not be quite the same on your skin. Always test a fragrance before you commit and watch how it develops throughout the day. Want to make your scent even more unique? Try layering fragrances – apply a scented lotion before your perfume or mix two scents for a custom blend that's uniquely yours.

TRANQUILLITY IN THE CITY

SPA InterContinental welcomed Liz O’Reilly to a journey of well-being and relaxation.

Fresh from almost 24 hours of back-to-back flights, I was definitely in need of some personal pampering. So, when I was invited to sample the joys of SPA InterContinental, I was pleased to take advantage.

The spa, which is found on the 10th floor of InterContinental Bahrain, is the perfect escape in the heart of the city with its minimal, yet welcoming lobby area decked in cream coloured tiling with plants adding a touch of nature and burners casting a soft glow while emitting a light, floral scent.

The pebble-patterned reception desk is simple, not to take away the magnificent city view cast through a wall of windows.

Spa Manager, Lolitha, immediately invited me to take a seat in the waiting area, where a selection of freshly squeezed juices had been laid out and I was happy to indulge a delicious sweet watermelon as I completed a comprehensive health questionnaire prior to my treatments.

Today I would be experiencing a body scrub, massage and facial and I couldn’t have been more eager to get started.

First though, Lolitha brought out a selection of oils by HP Care 4U for me to choose from, which would be mixed up for my massage. The options included rose scented to promote love and compassion; lavender for sleep and muscle soothing; and cleansing antibacterial, antioxidant lemongrass. I opted for lavender and orange, mixed with almond, jojoba and grapeseed oils, looking forward not just to its wonderful citrussy aroma but also its promise of uplifted mood, improved energy and a happy mind.

I was introduced to Sira, from Thailand, who was to be my therapist for the first two treatments, her gentle smile and professional manner immediately putting me at ease as she led me to a spacious treatment room – with two beds, it was one of the couples’ spaces.

The cool cream tones of the reception area were carried through to this tranquil space where bamboo canes and small floral decorations adorned the walls, imparting a sense of natural freshness. Flickering candlelight gave a feeling of relaxing serenity as I stretched out on the superbly comfortable treatment bed and waited for my scrub to begin.

Using a mixture of moisturising coconut powder, natural course salt and body wash, Sira began to gently scrub my skin working in a series of circular motions first on one side and then the other. I must admit, I am not usually a great fan of scrubs. My skin is pretty sensitive and I can find them irritating. But, the inclusion of rich coconut in the mix, coupled with Sira’s expert touch, meant this treatment actually felt soothing and, by the time she was finished, my skin was silky and softer than it’s been in quite some time.

I headed to the en-suite bathroom, decked out in multicoloured brown and cream mini tiles with a golden shimmer, to wash off the residual salt and was impressed to discover a rain shower-type head and amenities from premium brand Byredo, of which I took full advantage luxuriating in the hot water.

One fluffy towel later and I was back on that embracing massage bed as Sira got to work on my horribly knotted neck and shoulders using short powerful strokes combined with specific stretches. Checking that the pressure was OK for me, she diligently, and without needing to be told, worked on the one shoulder that has been giving me particular trouble for a while. Initially painful, I could literally feel the muscles relaxing and the knots releasing beneath her skilled fingers.

Moving down my body with the deliciously scented lavender and orange oil, I experienced a sensation I have never encountered before in a massage as Sira reached my feet. Her gentle probing actually revealed a problem I didn’t even know I had in the base of one foot. With repeated circular movements, she maintained pressure until virtually all signs of soreness disappeared leaving me singularly impressed.

All too soon my lovely massage was over and it was on to the facial with therapist Lida, who is also from Thailand. She was knowledgeable in discussing my skin and suggesting different options to address the dryness and sensitivity.

We began with a gentle cleanse using all-natural products that left my face tingling, a toner came next to remove any residual impurities before Lida began a very gentle scrub lightly kneading my skin with studied movements to get the facial drainage going.

The scrub did feel very mildly abrasive but I could appreciate its deep cleansing and exfoliating effect on my skin and before long it was time for a deeply soothing mask. Thick, cool and creamy, I could feel my complexion

drinking in the richness of a moisturising complex that included glycols, allantoin green tea extract to fight ageing and anti-inflammatory and antioxidant glycyrretic acid.

I relaxed in the semi-darkness as the mask did its work with Lida performing a mini-massage on my arms and shoulders – there’s no such thing as too much massage for me and, once again, I didn’t want it to stop.

But, all good things must come to an end and it was soon time for a final application of moisturising lotion before Lida left me to get ready to face the outside world. I immediately headed to the bathroom to check my results and was impressed to find my face looking plumped and renewed. I could barely recognise the tired woman who had walked through the doors a few hours earlier.

With six treatment rooms, including two couples’ spaces, SPA InterContinental is a bijou operation in the heart of the city and what it does, it does very well. Flanked by a fully equipped gym on one side and the gorgeous rooftop pool with Jacuzzi on the other, it also boasts sauna and steam facilities for men and women ensuring every guest is catered to.

DRESS IN HAPPINESS

This month, we bring a brand that is debuting on our pages – step in the cold season with this lively collection from FARM Rio.

FARM Rio is a Brazilian brand that began in 1997, showcasing the vibrancy and casualness of cariocas (how people from Rio de Janeiro are known). Their motto is to colour the world one print at a time. The happy hues, unique patterns and unconventional designs found a loyal audience. Eventually, the brand conquered the entire country and in 2019, the expansion outside Brazil began. The first Middle Eastern physical store recently opened in Dubai, but the label can be spotted in many multi-brand stores around the Gulf and e-shops.

Its autumn and winter collection is inspired by a range of natural influences, such as secret gardens and vibrant savannahs, with playful and maximalist designs that bring joy and warmth to the cold-weather wardrobe. The silhouettes vary from soft femininity to utilitarian-chic pieces. Maxi dresses, colourful knitted sets and separates, flattering teddy coats, cheerful raincoats and street-ready puffers are some of the must-have pieces.

FARM Rio embraces the boho style in a very conceptual way, adding elements such as voluminous sleeves, romantic floral accents and fabrics that play with texture and transparency. The palette draws inspiration from rich autumnal colours, such as burnt oranges, deep burgundy, indigo blue and berry hues.

Accessories are also an important aspect of the brand, with eye-catching pieces that add a funky touch to any outfit. This collection’s footwear brings heeled moccasins, flat ballerinas and western boots to complement the brand’s quirky style.

FASHION TAKES CENTRE STAGE IN MOSCOW

OHLALA spent an unforgettable week in the picturesque city of Moscow, fully immersed in the world of fashion.

At OHLALA, we possess a genuine passion for fashion, always ensuring we have a finger on the pulse of the global design market and current trends. After all, what’s not to love about this vibrant world of colour, style and innovation?

This month, thanks to the team at Fashion Fund, we were invited to attend two prestigious events in the Russian capital, Moscow. These exclusive occasions were the BRICS+ Fashion Summit and Moscow Fashion Week. This trip turned out to be a wonderful experience, exposing us to an array of new ideas, beautiful intentions and fabulous designs.

Moscow

After landing in the enchanting city, we were in awe of the stunning architecture, the rich cultural heritage and the overall exciting feeling of being far away in a magical new location. In truth, we could have spent our entire trip exploring and experiencing Russia’s largest city, however, we were there for a higher purpose.

BRICS+ Fashion Summit

First up on our busy agenda was the BRICS+ (an intergovernmental organisation comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates) Fashion Summit. This collective occasion saw leaders from more than 50 countries coming together to form a new association, one that signals the latest evolution of the emerging fashion economy through the BRICS IFF - BRICS International Fashion Federation. The goal – “to change the centre of gravity in the fashion business, promote international cooperation, increase efficiency, improve sustainability and create new opportunities for the new generation of designers.”

“The need for such a fashionable alliance of emerging countries is long overdue,” said Sunil Sethi, Chairman of the Fashion Design Council of India. “Brands, designers and markets all face similar challenges – from supply chain disruptions to environmental issues – that are easier to solve together. The fashion world is focused on a few hundred global brands, so emerging markets need their own platform to make our voices heard.”

The event took place over three days in October, and we experienced an array of informative sessions and talks focussed on the creative world of fashion.

“By the time we reached the sixth and final day of Moscow Fashion Week, we were enthralled by the fashion world and were wholeheartedly behind the quest to stimulate the growth of emerging markets.”

Day One

The opening day included a robust business programme attended by heads of fashion associations from diverse countries, including China, Egypt, Guatemala and South Africa. With no less than 14 planned sessions, we experienced a full day focused on the fashion world and related subject matter, expanding our understanding of emerging designers and markets. Along with the engaging business programme sessions, attendees were treated to the launch of the International Exhibition ‘Heritage’ that showcased collections from over 40 designers.

This outstanding exhibition highlighted the impact of national and cultural history from BRICS+ nations and emerging countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America on contemporary clothing design.

Day Two

On the second day, we again attended 14 fashion-related sessions along with a series of informative TED talks.

These 14, second-day sessions within the BRICS+ Fashion Summit's business programme provided speakers with a platform to share ideas and spark new discussions, significantly strengthening professional connections among representatives from over 100 countries present in Moscow.

The TED Talk Series ensured participants engaged in discussions around various innovative concepts, including barter systems, self-regulation of finances and the potential role of cryptocurrency in fashion financing. They also explored the idea of reframing failures as successes in specific contexts, highlighting a shift in mindset that can drive creativity and resilience within the industry.

Day Three

On the third and final day of the event, attendees were able to take in several more sessions as well as further informative TED talks. These sessions covered a range of topics such as how to use AI in retail, how influencer marketing works, insiders’ perspectives on the luxury industry, cross-cultural exchanges through international events and building relationships with Russian buyers, amongst others.

The TED talk series also continued on the last day of the summit. This final chapter in the series covered researching the target audience of a fashion brand. The session focused on practical techniques for understanding those target audiences.

With so much information and experience packed into a three-day schedule, it was no wonder it seemed to be over in the blink of an eye. Still hungry for all things fashion, we were super excited to make our way to the second of the two prestigious events, namely Moscow Fashion Week.

Moscow Fashion Week

We aren’t afraid to admit that attending the third Moscow Fashion Week was a huge thrill and privilege for us fashionistas. Divided into six unforgettable days, we were spoilt by the diverse list of designers from the great country of Russia and beyond. We did our very best to attend as many of the fashion shows and business events as we could over the course of the week.

“Moscow Fashion Week features a dynamic lineup of fashion shows and business events as part of the Fashion Summit, attracting 200 industry representatives from Russia and around the globe. This diverse group includes designers, international fashion associations and textile manufacturers. Establishing connections with the latter is particularly crucial at this time. Given the shifts in logistics chains, we anticipate that sourcing materials and accessories will not pose any difficulties,” said Alexei Fursin, Minister of the Government of Moscow and Head of the Moscow Department of Culture.

Day One

First up on day one was the Russian brand Loom by Rodina, who had the honour of opening the Fashion Week. The impressive collection showcased during the event paid tribute to Russia and its values, highlighted by a powerful performance from an opera singer from the Bolshoi Theatre. Throughout the day, we were exposed to one exciting brand after another from various emerging fashion markets. These included Brazil, Dagestan, India, Indonesia and South Africa.

Day Two

The second day of Moscow Fashion Week was made up of a variety of exciting events. These included a market where attendees could view and purchase clothes and accessories from Russian brands.

Another feature of the second day’s lineup was an international showroom, providing local designers the opportunity to connect with buyers and explore future collaborations. Designers from the cities of Chelyabinsk, Kazan, Moscow, Nalchik and Rostov-on-Don, along with two brands from Costa Rica and the UAE, showcased their work through visually spectacular fashion shows.

We also got to experience four new lectures and a masterclass held in the Moscow Fashion Week Lecture Hall.

Day Three

By the third day, we were in full fashionista mode and delighted to attend another impressive array of outstanding collections.

Along with a variety of runway shows, we took advantage of the opportunity to explore the market, enjoy collection viewings in the showroom and attend insightful lectures presented by leading industry experts.

Amongst the many highlights was the course led by the legendary Kelly Cutrone, founder of the PR agency People’s Revolution and a former representative for renowned brands such as Longchamp, Vivienne Westwood, Valentino and Paco Rabanne (as it was formely known).

Day Four

A diverse range of shows awaited us on the fourth day. With brands not only representing the country’s capital but also regional brands from Cheboksary, Elista, Kirov, Omsk, Tver, Uchkeken and Yakutsk.

The before-mentioned open market, featuring Russian brands and the international showroom facilitating business collaborations between designers and buyers, continued creating a platform for deals and opportunities. Adding even more value to the day, were four new lectures, emphasising the educational aspect of this international event.

Day Five

Still buzzing from our full itinerary of fashion fabulousness, we went into day five expecting great things, and once again, Moscow Fashion Week did not disappoint.

On the fifth day, we were privileged to watch brands from Moscow, KhantyMansiysk, Krasnoyarsk, Saratov, St. Petersburg and Tyumen exhibit their most recent collections. We were hugely impressed by what the designers managed to create and were in awe of the amount of talent showcased at this event.

Once again, the open market was humming with activity as attendees appreciated and purchased clothing from both Moscow and regional brands. Adding further to the day’s stellar itinerary were the discussions held at the international showroom between designers and buyers over potential collaborative ventures. It was fascinating to watch these collaborations form in real time, creating lucrative opportunities for many deserving brands and creators.

Lastly, three informative sessions were held in the educational Lecture Hall. These informative talks focussed on the theme of traditional Russian costumes and their modern interpretations.

Day Six

By the time we reached the sixth and final day of the event, we were enthralled by the fashion world and were wholeheartedly behind the quest to stimulate the growth of emerging markets.

Ensuring the week was finished off in style, event organisers arranged for brands from Moscow, Nalchik, St. Petersburg, Yakutsk and Yekaterinburg to showcase their latest collections. We attended as many as possible, enjoying each as much as the last.

Four new lectures were conducted in the educational Lecture Hall, much to the delight of attendees. Topics included ‘What Luxury Looks Like’, ‘Creative Thinking as the Basis of a Fashion Collection’, ‘Clothes with Patterns for the Fall-Winter Season 25/26’, and ‘From Embroidery to Haute Couture: How Fashion Becomes the Guardian and Interpreter of the National Spirit’.

After the whirlwind of runway shows, business programmes, TED talks, open discussions, networking and all-around fashion discussions, we floated to the airport with half a mind to start a fashion empire of our own. Upon reflection, it was obvious how successful Moscow Fashion Week had been. The event managed to inspire many countries, companies, brands and individuals while creating and nurturing new relationships and opportunities that will play a huge part in establishing the desired foundation for emerging markets to flourish.

MAGNIFICENCE IN THE HEART OF MILAN

OHLALA recently travelled to one of the world’s fashion capitals to spend 48 hours at Portrait Milano – a luxurious five-star venue in this cosmopolitan Italian city.

“Located in one of the oldest seminaries in Europe, Portrait Milano provides an oasis of intimacy, tranquillity and timeless elegance.”

At OHLALA, we are partial to both fashion and luxury destinations. This month, thanks to the team at the Portrait Milano, not only did we get to travel to one of the most sought-after destinations in Europe but to stay at one of the finest hotels in one of the most famous fashion hubs on the planet.

Perfect Location

Upon arrival, we were in awe of the flawless design and welcoming feel of the hotel. It was immediately apparent to us why this glamorous venue is an award-winning property and regarded as amongst the very finest hotels in the city. In fact, Portrait Milano is a member of The Leading Hotels of the World.

Located in one of the oldest seminaries in Europe, Portrait Milano provides an oasis of intimacy, tranquillity and timeless elegance. It is also situated mere steps away from the most prestigious shopping destinations in Milan. One of our favourite features of the hotel was that it overlooks the city’s newest attraction, the Piazza del Quadrilatero. At 2,800sq/m, this new promenade connects Corso Venezia to Via Sant’Andrea and is the largest and most original square in the fashion district.

High-end Hospitality

From our first contact with the staff, we experienced the quintessential Italian hospitality. We were treated as valued guests and felt well taken care of from the moment we arrived.

After an effortless booking-in process, we were accompanied to our rooms. En route, our helpful bellman cheerfully educated us on the design and layout of this magnificent venue. We were also fortunate enough to be given a tour of the property during our stay.

Design & Décor

This four-story, five-star hotel consists of 73 lavish suites, family suites and rooms, all of which were constructed with luxury and comfort in mind. The rooms range from 32sq/m to 165sq/m, each providing the desired combination of privacy and silence.

The 27 rooms on the second floor include garden-view accommodations that provide glimpses of this secret oasis in the city’s heart, with splendid terraces often present.

The interior design of the rooms was inspired by the city’s 1950s’ parlours and exhibits accents such as beautiful Italian walnut wood. These historical references are enhanced by Florentine craftsmanship. Clear examples include the leather and bronzed brass handles on the front doors, cabinets and sliding doors.

The flooring is natural larch, in running planks typical of Northern European houses and castles. Bathrooms are predominantly in bright white Carrara marble, whilst others present a combination of Red Porphyry and Breccia Medicea.

Focussing on the colour palate, the predominance of red alternates with green. These complementary colours are often found in Milanese houses and are deeply connected to the city.

Deluxe Accommodation

The moment we stepped into the Studio Deluxe Garden Suite, it was obvious we were in for a delightful stay.

Along with the iconic Italian design and layout of the accommodation, this comfortable and well-lit room housed a king-size bed that ensured two of the best nights’ sleep we have experienced in quite some time.

The superbly designed bathroom featured floor-to-ceiling Carrara marble and an oversized shower providing excellent water pressure.

A garden-view terrace added a magnificent touch to an already outstanding quarter. Throughout the stay, we enjoyed several cappuccinos overlooking the beautiful greenery.

Fine Dining

Not content with merely providing some of the most picturesque and comfortable accommodations in Milan, the hotel also showcases a fantastic dining venue, namely 10_11.

We appreciated how the restaurant’s garden, restaurant and colonnade blend to emphasise the imposing architecture through elegant and sophisticated details. The menu is inspired by traditional Italian cuisine that evokes the feeling of good home-cooked meals that you share with your family on a Sunday afternoon. As invited guests of the hotel, we were treated to a sumptuous five-course meal.

For the first course, we partook in an authentic veal tonne that proved both succulent and delicious. This was the perfect appetiser to stimulate the senses. Another appetiser made up the second course, this time in the form of beef tartare prepared tableside with the choice of egg, anchovies, capers, parsley and mustard seed.

On to the mains, we were spoilt with a delicious hanger steak and turnip tops. We have never had a piece of meat prepared to such perfection. Already satisfied, it was time for not one but two desserts.

Gelato ice cream with sour cherries started the sweet portion of the meal, followed closely by an almond crumble with caramelised apples, fior di latte ice cream and salted caramel. A truly memorable experience for our palates.

The Longevity Spa

The Longevity Spa is a metropolitan wellness oasis born from biohacking high-tech and a holistic vision of wellness. It includes a wet area with a swimming pool, steam room, sauna and relaxation area, a gym and treatment rooms. Portrait Milano is the first hotel in the world to host The Longevity Suite, an advanced European network of biohacking and antiaging city clinics. We were fortunate enough to experience the Ultimate Biohacking 30-minute treatment. This therapy is based on Dry Float Therapy (which uses a bed that suspends your body, creating a weightless feeling), a technological innovation that harnesses the benefits of floating in sensory deprivation to produce positive effects on sleep, concentration and mental and physical recovery.

Near Infra-Red (NIR) Total Body technology stimulates the body’s natural processes using red light and non-ionising electromagnetic radiation, improving circulation and relieving muscle and joint pain.

The benefits of Dry Float and NIR combined with Hydrogen-Oxygen Therapy reduce oxidative stress and inflammation. The treatment allows the body and mind to regain energy, strengthens the immune system, stimulates new collagen growth and improves skin elasticity, hence supporting cellular longevity.

Our time in the deprivation pods was nothing less than sensational. Leaving the treatment, we felt like we were floating and had never felt so relaxed and invigorated. This was a truly novel experience.

Time to Go

After the second night of our unforgettable stay at this uniquely beautiful hotel, it was hard to say goodbye to this enchanting location and leave behind such a serene and luxurious environment.

Once on the plane, we were already expressing our desire to plan a return visit to this magical accommodation and beautiful city.

Our Sincere Thanks

We want to thank Portrait Milano for inviting us into this exquisite venue, for the unrivalled hospitality and for the opportunity to explore the vibrant city of Milan.

MADE WITH ITALIAN SOUL

Bahrain is privileged with an array of restaurants and cuisines.

Fernanda Langhammer headed to Oliveto, where she encountered an elegant ambience and an emotional connection to the food.

If I have to pick a cuisine that brings me utter happiness, I would have to say Italian. We will all have a different answer for that but, for me, maybe because of my roots and the many Sundays preparing fresh pasta with my mum, it will always take my heart. I am also from a coastal area, so finding a place that beautifully mixes these two food memories with the necessary care is not an easy mission. But Oliveto, with its high-quality ingredients and impressive menu, filled my tummy with beautiful food and happiness.

Chef Antoni Mancini is the maestro of the place. With many years of experience under his chef’s jacket, he is from Bari, a city in the Puglia region of Italy, well-known for its rich oceanic delights. The meal my dining companion and I experienced was a glimpse of Oliveto’s offers. With around 30 new dishes being added to the new à la carte menu (don’t worry, best-sellers won’t go anywhere), we had a taste of what to expect. I have to confess that I usually avoid going to Adliya restaurants; parking is always a struggle. However, Oliveto has a massive private parking space for its guests’ comfort – that’s a big plus for me. The entrance is imposing, with an impressive wooden door that takes you to the reception area, which is ample and invites you into this sleek yet very welcoming eatery. If you continue straight, you will find the door to the outside area with olive trees and a surprising element: a pool in the middle of the terraced space. But our dining experience happened in the inside dining room, which also boasts an iconic décor element: a white piano. There are different seating arrangements with sofas and tables. The ceiling caught my attention with dark geometric panels and two mighty conic chandeliers – a feature that gives the place a touch of uniqueness.

After choosing our table close to the window with the pool view, it was time to start our culinary journey. The first dish served gave us the right first impression; it was as delicious as visually pleasant. The Ciambotto & Cialleta is a rock fish soup made with sterilised seawater, Evoo (which stands for extra virgin olive oil, an ingredient that plays a crucial role in Mediterranean cuisine) and bottarga essence (a salted and cured product of fish roe). It is composed of clams, mussels, fish pieces, lobster and shrimp – each marine ingredient cooked to perfection, keeping its distinct flavours. Soda bread toast with fresh tomato and bell peppers with a tangy touch added a crunch to this delicious warm liquid that took me back to my childhood summers eating my grandad’s seafood soup.

The Insalata dello Sceicco Baderina followed, a kaleidoscope of mixed hearty pulses, green apples, celery, corn, radish, pomegranate and toasted pine nuts coated in a rocket leaves dressing finished with a sour cream sorbet. The nourishing salad was absolutely delicious, and I kept returning for more throughout the lunch; the crunchiness of the ingredients and creamy sauce made it a memorable bite, something that you don’t hear people saying much about salads, but you have to bear in mind that I am a veggie enthusiast.

It was time to embrace the mains. We started with Risotto alla Perla, a seafood rice dish made with lobster bisque, cooked in Italian bubbly and algae with sea bass pieces and adorned with clams and mussels. Each spoonful was rich in flavour but not an overpowering fish taste, more like a creamy oceanic symphony, which I truly appreciated. The Polpo alla Pugliese was another beautifully plated dish with rock Adriatic octopus grilled in sea salt and finished with Evoo, thyme flowers and mild chilli. The octopus pieces had a spot-on texture, firm yet delicate – I loved the sauteed onion and green onions touch – it helped elevate the natural juices of this seafood delicacy.

But we had more than seafood; the Trenette alla Gricia was a delightful pasta dish in old Roman style bathed in a creamy pecorino cheese sauce and smoked veal guanciale with crushed black pepper. A dish that reminded me of a classic carbonara – the perfect marriage between comfort and flavour. The Fassona in Cassetto, an Italian take on Beef Wellington, is tenderloin wrapped in pasta sheets and porcini and morel mushrooms, oven-baked and served with beef marrow sauce and a delicious fried potato croquette that I devoured. The meat was tender and succulent, ending this feast in grand style.

As with every outstanding dining experience, we ended our pranzo (lunch) with sweet treats. We had the Mela Stregata, apple confit served in caramelised whole apple on a bed of crushed almonds and cinnamon, floating on custard sauce. I love apple desserts and this was a fine example of letting the fruit be the star of the show. It was not too sweet, keeping the apple’s characteristic flavour – yum! The other dessert was Cioccolato Tartufato, a sticky chocolate mousse topped with vanilla ice cream. The richness of its texture made it unique and the best companion to an espresso. I have been living in Bahrain for the past 13 years and the first time I visited Oliveto (it opened its doors in 2004 and then, after a fire, it reopened in 2012) was a few months ago when I was celebrating my birthday, and I was blown away – I absolutely loved it. I can’t believe I took so long to dine there; I was really missing out. But now that it has entered my life, I am planning many more meals there to explore the menu, enjoy the outdoor space and be taken down memory lane with dishes that have brought back childhood food memories of visiting my grandparents at their beach house in a fishing village and my mum’s delicious pasta dishes. Chef Antonio, you will certainly see more of me!

A STRIKING AND PROGRESSIVE MOTORING EXPERIENCE

DRIVING STYLISH CARS IS SOMETHING OHLALA KNOWS WELL. THIS MONTH, WE HAD THE PLEASURE OF GETTING BEHIND THE WHEEL OF THE ALL-NEW ELETRE S, A FULLY ELECTRIC, HIGH-PERFORMANCE SUV FROM LOTUS.

Established in 1952, Lotus is an iconic British multinational automotive manufacturer famous for producing some of the finest luxury sports and race cars over the last 75 years. They have recently expanded their repertoire to include high-quality electric lifestyle vehicles – models shaking up the batterypowered motoring world.

This month, OHLALA received an invitation to test drive the brand’s latest creation, the Lotus Eletre S. We immediately accepted and soon found ourselves staring open-mouthed at this exciting creation.

EXHILARATING EXTERIOR

It took but an instant for us to fall head over heels for the new Eletre S.

The exterior of this cutting-edge machine can only be described as the epitome of superior craftsmanship.

From head-on, we were mesmerised by the immaculate bonnet with its two exit vents designed to maximise performance. We also appreciated how the sharp leading-edge hints at the car’s lineage connection with the Lotus Emira and Evija.

Sitting stylishly above this line are super-slim, technical light clusters housing daytime running lights and scrolling directional indicators. The full LED headlights with Matrix technology, are housed below, recessed and partially hidden. We later discovered these units emit a constant high beam without dazzling oncoming traffic or the vehicle in front. Situated underneath this unique lighting setup is the Eletre’s active front grille. This hugely impressive element alone is a testament to Lotus’ exceptional design capabilities.

We took our time admiring the streamlined nature of the exterior design. It flows effortlessly from the front to the four-door flanks,

with the bold leading edge of the shapely bonnet continuing round into the front fenders, wheel arches and, ultimately, the length of the vehicle as a feature line. Simply exquisite! Above this, the Eletre displays taut and muscular lines, with aerodynamic elements prominent below.

It was side on that we could fully appreciate the vehicle’s cab-forward stance, ‘floating’ D-pillars, tapering roofline, long wheelbase and short overhangs at both front and rear. Additionally, we found the visual lightness of this vehicle to create the impression of a high-riding sports car rather than an SUV.

Shifting our focus to the back end, we acknowledged the full-width ribbon light strip that effortlessly combines with the feature line from the profile. This strip glows red when the vehicle is in motion and includes a scrolling directional indicator at each end, where it curves gently into the air outlets from the wheel arches.

Our favourite feature of the rear, however, has to be the motorsportinspired, cantilevered carbon fibre ‘floating’ split roof spoiler. The centre section has been removed to reduce weight, allowing the integration of the LIDAR sensor into the top of the glass.

INSPIRED INTERIOR

Once inside the Eletre, we sat in stunned silence, absorbing the sheer mastery of what Lotus have managed to achieve.

The intoxicating nature of the performance-orientated and technical interior is complemented by the abundance of space, allowing up to five people to travel comfortably. This practical feature is enhanced by the panoramic sunroof, equipped with 10 different settings to adjust the amount of light transmitted into the cabin.

"Although the Eletre’s interior and exterior designs are sublime, the included tech sets Lotus’ new luxury SUV apart from many would-be rivals in the segment."

The cockpit is driver-focused, with the design of the high centre console drawing inspiration from the Emira and Evija. The layering of sustainable, high-end materials and textures ensures a genuinely premium feel, augmented by a triangular theme we recognised from the front grille and in many other locations around the cabin.

Further adding to the practical nature of the interior design is the wealth of storage space on offer throughout. We identified a storage tray with wireless phone charging functionality in the centre console, as well as two cup holders that remain flush with the surface until required. Each door provides storage space that can hold a one-litre bottle. Rear passengers also have access to a charging mat. When the middle seat of the standard three-seat configuration isn’t in use, it can be lowered to become an armrest complete with two deployable cupholders.

CUTTING-EDGE TECH AND INFOTAINMENT

Although the Eletre’s interior and exterior designs are sublime, the included tech sets Lotus’ new luxury SUV apart from many would-be rivals in the segment.

The new creation houses an intelligent ‘Digital Cockpit’ that uses the latest technology to enhance the driving experience by combining exceptionally rendered graphics, super-fast responses and intuitive operation. Making its debut in the Eletre is Lotus Hyper OS – an all-new operating system that delivered a seamless interactive experience.

In the Eletre, 5G compatibility ensures the best possible connectivity, while its software-over-the-air capability ensures the Digital Cockpit is always up to date, meaning it continuously improves over time. We must mention the virtual personal assistant we interacted with that can follow audio commands. By saying “Hi Lotus, I’m hot” for example, the cabin temperature will instantly adjust as required.

The 12.6-inch HD OLED instrument cluster located behind the steering wheel, coupled with a 29-inch head-up display, allowed us to keep our eyes on the road at all times. We found the projected graphics clear and relevant, providing the driver with key information such as navigation or advanced driver assistance alerts. This made it quicker and easier for us to understand what was happening around us, reducing distraction and enhancing safety.

One must-mention feature is the smartphone app developed by Lotus specifically for the Eletre. It enables the owner to interact with the vehicle remotely. Via this app, we could change the climate control settings, purify the cabin air, lock and unlock the car and remotely park the SUV in tight parallel, perpendicular and diagonal spaces!

UNBELIEVABLE POWER & PERFORMANCE

As Lotus have been producing iconic race cars for many decades, it was no surprise that the brand gave extra focus to on-road performance. Combining an aerodynamic exterior design, a state-of-the-art powertrain, all-wheel drive traction, active air suspension and exceptional handling, steering and active systems, the Eletre S proved nothing short of a tamed beast on the tarmac. Powered by a single electric motor, this SUV produces 603hp and 710Nm of torque, enabling it to reach an electronically capped top speed of 258km/h.

When testing the car’s acceleration, we surged from 0-100km/h in 4.5 seconds. Later, it was revealed that the flagship Eletre R model, powered by two electric motors, can accomplish the same feat in a mere 2.95 seconds! Yes, you read that correctly.

This exceptional SUV boasts an all-electric range of up to 600km and a fast-charging option from 10-80% in just 20 minutes, proving this SUV is not only performance-oriented but practical in every way.

DRIVER ASSISTANCE & SAFETY SYSTEMS

As expected, the new Eletre has a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS). To ensure occupant safety, the master engineers at Lotus have installed a full complement of state-of-the-art sensors: 34 in total. These include four deployable LIDAR, six radar, seven 8MP HD cameras, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. Combined, they ensure the vehicle has a true 360° view of the world around it, thereby minimising accidents and mishaps. The combination of advanced technology, software and over-the-air feature updates means the Eletre provides the latest ADAS functionality, including Level 4 autonomous driving capability.

OUR VERDICT

Lotus have taken innovation, ingenuity and the ultimate in performanceorientated design to the next level with their first all-electric hyper-SUV.

SHINE ON!

Whether it’s a treasured family piece or a shiny new treat, your jewellery deserves some special care. Keep each piece looking its best with a little TLC – because every gem deserves to shine as brightly as the memories it holds.

Jewellery can often be a sentimental piece that tells a story, whether it’s a family heirloom, a gift from a loved one or a symbol of personal achievement. Over time, however, daily wear can dull its shine or cause damage if not properly cared for. By dedicating some time to maintaining your jewels, you can preserve their beauty and longevity, ensuring that each piece continues to dazzle as it was meant to.

- Store your jewellery carefully. Each piece deserves its own space to avoid scratches and tangling. A soft-lined box or individual pouches are great options. For delicate items like pearls, keep them away from other metals as they can easily be scratched.

- Regular cleaning is a MUST, but be mindful of how you clean each piece. For everyday gold and silver, a gentle wipe with a soft

cloth can remove dirt and oils. For more delicate pieces or those set with stones, consider a mild soap solution and a soft brush, but always dry them thoroughly.

- It’s also a good idea to remove jewellery when engaging in activities like exercising and swimming, spraying perfume or even doing household chores. Harsh chemicals, sweat and even water, can tarnish metals or loosen stones over time.

- Lastly, don’t forget professional maintenance. Once a year, take your fine jewellery to a professional jeweller for inspection. They can check for loose stones, worn settings or any potential damage. With a bit of love and attention, your jewellery will continue to sparkle for years, serving as a beautiful reminder of life’s most precious moments.
