There is no higher and holier day on the Christian calendar than Easter or “Resurrection Day.” On this day, believers gather together around the globe to ponder and celebrate the event spoken by the angels at the empty tomb,
“Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here; he is risen!” (Luke 24:5-6)
The believer’s proper response to the glorious truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ is nothing short of genuine, heart-felt worship. This is the same response we will have when we gather facedown with the saints around the throne singing, “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain.” (Revelation 5:12) Faith Radio exists to proclaim the gospel to the nations and to build-up God’s people. One way we do that is by broadcasting Christhonoring music that will help you in your time of personal worship. We encourage you to tunein to Faith Radio during the Easter season and throughout the year to celebrate that “He is risen!” 2

of the most valuable aids to meditation “ One is Scripture memorization. In fact, when
I encounter someone who is battling discouragement or depression, I often ask two questions: ‘Are you singing to the Lord?’ and ‘Are you memorizing Scripture?’ These two exercises are not some magical formula to make all our problems go away, but they do have incredible power to change our perspective and attitude toward the issues we are facing.

listener testimony
LISTENERS IMPACTED BY WAYMAKER
by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations
Throughout the challenges of the last year, there has been a popular song that has been an encouraging anthem to millions. “Waymaker,” which was written by Nigerian gospel singer Sinach in 2015, but made popular by Michael W. Smith in 2020, has been echoing in the hearts of listeners navigating the hardships of the coronavirus pandemic. The words of the song are powerful and true “Way maker, miracle worker, promise Terri Hatfield leading worship at keeper, light in the darkness, My Women’s Night of Worship and Prayer. God, that is who You are.” This song is an encouragement and takes us straight to the heart of our Father as we listen and worship Him. Many of our listeners have been sharing their thoughts on the song and how it has ministered to them. One listener told of how “Waymaker” takes her back to a year ago when people would park in hospital parking lots and play this song for all to hear. She said tears would fill her eyes as she would hear the lyrics, “Even when I don’t see it, You’re working. Even when I don’t feel it, You’re working. You never stop working.” One listener simply said, “This song has been on repeat at our house!” Terri Hatfield, who sang at the Women’s Night of Worship and Prayer shared, “This song reminds me that I can trust God in times of calm and comfort as well as times of suffering and hardship. It has ministered to me during a time with health issues, and reminded me that God is in control and I could trust Him with the outcome. He is our way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness in all seasons of life.”

We are ministering in many places where very few people are allowed to go right now. One of our listeners called us to say: “I love Faith Radio! I live in a nursing home and we can’t have anyone come here to preach or pray or sing hymns, but since we can’t, I get all of that from Faith Radio every day. I really appreciate Faith Radio being on the air 24 hours per day.”
We have regularly encouraged our listeners to pray for our health care workers, who have been working extra hard and performing extra duties during our world health crisis. We have heard from many who have been encouraged by our ministry at Faith Radio, and we have even had opportunities to pray with and encourage the medical staffs at hospital prayer rooms. 6

We are always blessed when we get to share about how God is at work through the ministry of Faith Radio. Dothan Community Church and their Pastor Charles Lewis is always an encouragement to us!
We are so thankful for the many people who give to support Faith Radio. The Jennings family in Dothan has provided for our Christmas Crosses in Dothan, and we had a photo opportunity with Pastor Rusty Milton of First Presbyterian Dothan.
As we often share, Faith Radio is much more than a radio station. We pray for others and reach out to help those in need. One heartbroken mother shared with us her appreciation for Focus On The Family. We were able to connect her to them after she lost her son to suicide. The ministry blessed her with some resources, including the book “Grieving A Suicide.”

We know that whether our listeners are at home, at work, or in their cars, they will benefit from uplifting and encouraging Christian music. We also thoughtfully and prayerfully select our playlist with our listeners in mind. Faith Radio believes

we are ministering through song and intentionally addresses issues listeners may be facing. If you visit the “Programming” section on our website, you can learn about our music-oriented programs and the hosts. Under the broad umbrella of Praise and Worship music, we feature a variety of musical artists and different types and styles of music. Our music ranges from current to classic contemporary songs, gospel music, and traditional hymns. During the average day on Faith Radio, you will hear a number of songs performed by artists who have a mix

of cultural backgrounds and musical styles. With all that variety, there are some important commonalities. One is that we strive to select and feature artists who are intent on honoring the Lord through their lives, songs, and ministry. We have, at times, removed artists from our playlist when their lives or music did not honor the Lord. Another commonality in our variety of music is that the lyrical content of the songs we select is of primary importance. The emphasis in our music selection is to help listeners think about and enter into the presence of God. We therefore select music that has a message that exalts God and is consistent with His Word. We know that music teaches theology and can actually help believers learn and grow as they sing and listen to the lyrics. That is one of the reasons we include rich theological hymns in our playlist. We also want to be careful with the
lyrical content because music is literally putting words of worship in the mouths of the saints, so those words must be accurate and Christ-honoring. At Faith Radio, we want our music programming to complement our Bible teaching programs. Our aim is to help our listeners be those who worship God in spirit and in truth. As you learn truths of God, the proper response is worship, and music is an important part of that worship response. You can check out the listing of Faith Radio Favorites in this Ministry Magazine, as well as the Featured Music section of our website, to get an idea about the artists we play here on Faith Radio. The website also has a feature through which you can see a listing of recently played songs on our network. You can check out the “Programming” section at FaithRadio.org.

programmer spotlight Harvest Ministries, headed by Greg Laurie (heard on A New Beginning, weekdays at 2:00 p.m.), announced that its combined ministries reached over 260 million people, including 140,000 people who came to Christ through its outreaches in 2020. One of these outreaches was Harvest at Home, which streams Harvest content and drew 15.2 million viewers. The ministry of Focus on the Family (weekdays at 8:30 a.m.) sponsored an online prayer meeting on the morning of the Presidential Inauguration. Focus President Jim Daly said, “I can be extremely concerned with current circumstances— even burdened...But we’re called to act—and trust. Prayer is a powerful way to do just that, so we’re encouraging Christians around the nation to join us in corporate prayer for some of the most foundational aspects of our culture.” The Presidential Prayer Team, which presents Pause to Pray (weekdays at 11:10 a.m. and 8:35 p.m.), has historically launched a prayer effort to pray for the first 100 days of a President’s administration and is sponsoring BOLD, which stands for Beside Our Leaders Daily, focusing on praying for new members of Congress. Several Faith Radio programmers experienced health issues in 2020. Robert Wolgemuth, who is the husband of Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth (heard on Revive Our Hearts, M-F at 1:00 p.m.) is currently battling cancer, but received positive news at the beginning of 2021. Programmers Jonathan Falwell, Greg Laurie, and Joni Eareckson Tada were among those who reported being diagnosed with COVID this past year. A number of programs have featured content offering hope and perspective in the midst of the coronavirus crisis. The Turning Point radio program with David Jeremiah (heard weekdays at 6:00 a.m.) will soon be aired on the History Channel. Dr. Jeremiah said, “It’s such a humbling opportunity to be the first religious programming broadcast on the History Channel. But we’re offering far more than just religious instruction. We’re offering hope for a world in need of healing, and it comes from the greatest pages ever written in history.” 10

SING TO THE LORD
Faith Radio and The Meeting House Encourage You in Worship by Bob Crittenden, host of The Meeting House As I reflect on my years at Faith Radio, I think back on listeners who have talked about hearing particular songs at just the right time that God used in their lives. God regularly uses the medium of music to encourage and minister to the hearts of people. The ministry of music is important in the individual life of a believer, but is also key in the context of congregational worship. Singing is also not just an option for the believer, but is actually a command. Songwriter and worship leader Keith Getty noted during an interview on The Meeting House program that the most common command in Scripture is to sing. Keith believes that is “because [singing is] so important for our . . . health, our mentality.” In contrast, Keith said, the most common prohibition in Scripture is worry. He advises that if we put those together, we see that in times of great difficulty, “we’re commanded to sing.” He added the importance of corporate worship in a body of believers, noting that it’s not enough to just sing alone, but that “we need to be singing together.” Christian musical artist Hope Darst related in a Meeting House interview how her song Peace be Still, which she co-wrote to help her deal with anxiety and fear in her life, continued to minister to people four years after
the song was written. “We had no idea that it was going to come out in the midst of 2020, where people four years later are dealing with the same level of disappointment and fear that Mia and I were dealing with in that room four years ago. And, it’s just such a beautiful picture that Christian music artist Hope Darst discussed her album project, Peace Be Still. God’s promises literally never return void – His Word does not return void.” “God speaks peace over every storm that we are facing, He speaks peace over our minds, He speaks peace over our hearts, and all we have to do is just honestly reach out and take hold of that thing and let it anchor us in the midst of every wave and every storm.” We encourage you to tune in to the music on Faith Radio and allow God to minister to your heart. In an audio and video interview with Keith and Kristyn Getty, Keith shared about the importance of singing.

gifts in memory and in honor of... A memorial gift is a meaningful way to honor someone at the time of death by recognizing that person’s Christian faith and testimony. Similarly, an honorarium is a tangible way of honoring a living person’s testimony. We are thankful for individuals listed below who choose to honor friends and loved ones through a gift that extends the message of Christ through Faith Radio’s ministry. Gifts made as of February 25, 2021.

HAVING A HEART IN TUNE by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations I was recently listening to the familiar hymn that sings, “Come, thou fount of every blessing, tune my heart to sing thy grace.” Those words are a beautiful reminder. You know how sometimes, when a musical instrument is out of tune, it can cause a radiant melody to sound pretty rough? Our hearts are the same way! Sometimes our hearts get out of tune, and we forget God’s goodness. We forget that there are “streams of mercy, never ceasing.” Faith Radio is here to remind you that you are already accepted, held, and known. Our ministry is sharing the love of Jesus all day every day so that your hearts can be restored to a place of gratitude and love. Will you partner with our ministry? Your financial gifts to Faith Radio help remind others to sing His grace over and over. Because of what the Lord did for us on the cross, it’s a song that will never grow old!
