Beginning a new year is a natural time to reflect on the past and focus on the future. As you do, reflect on this quote from Tony Evans:

“ People wonder why they have so little of God when God has so little of them.” Does God have little of you or much of you? Is He a priority in your life? Are you honoring Him with your time, your talents, and your treasure? Resolve, by God’s grace and in the power of the Holy Spirit, to give much of yourself to God this year. Faith Radio can help you do that. Whether through our music that focuses you on Him, our teaching ministries that teach you about Him, or the numerous community events that give you opportunities to serve Him, Faith Radio wants you to live a life of whole-hearted devotion to God in 2022 and beyond! 2

Voices of Faith Radio everything that is truly precious to us “ Inasreality, Christians is in heaven. The Father is there

(Matt. 6:9). Jesus Himself is at the Father’s right hand (Heb. 9:24). Many brothers and sisters in Christ are there, too (Heb. 12:23). Our names are recorded there (Luke 10:20). This is our inheritance (1 Pet. 1:4). Our citizenship is in heaven (Phil. 3:20). Our eternal reward is in heaven (Matt. 5:12). In other words, everything we should love everlastingly, everything we rightly value, everything of any eternal worth is in heaven.

- John MacArthur

we eat in heaven? This is one of the “ Will questions I hear most often. I can tell you,

there are two occasions in the Bible where Jesus ate after His resurrection. One in Luke 24:42-43 and another in John 21:1213. Based on our observations of Jesus’ new body, we can be confident we will eat in heaven—and without the negative effects of weight gain and acid reflux. We will be able to eat purely for our enjoyment and no longer for our sustenance!

- David Jeremiah

there time in heaven? God is eternal, and “ Isheaven is the dwelling place of God. So the

way to understand heaven is timelessness. What it means is heaven is one moment that never stops, there’s no sense of passing time at all. So there is no time in heaven.

- John MacArthur

will our bodies be like in heaven? “ What The first thing Paul teaches us about our

resurrected bodies in 1 Corinthians 15 is that it is not like our current body. Our current body is subject to aging, disease, and death. But our resurrection bodies are incorruptible. You will never get old nor grow tired. You will never suffer disease or age or death.

We are thankful for our many volunteers who help us so often with our ministry work!

A large group helped us with our Golf Tournament, and we were blessed to have help passing out balloons to some sweet children at the Pike Road Arts and Crafts Fair.

Building Christmas Crosses is a very rewarding task that requires skilled craftsmen. This year, students from Trinity Presbyterian School cut and assembled the majority of our crosses!

While we focus on appreciating pastors and their staff during the month of October, Energize Ministries reminds us to do so all year long.

Being part of community worship events that lift up the name of Jesus is always on our ministry radar. We were again honored to be part of Awaken 2021 at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery. The Blessings Tour by Kari Jobe provided a special night of worship for many at Frazer Church in Montgomery.

Our faithful friends at Baptist Hospice hosted their annual “We Honor Veterans Blood Drive” at their new location on the campus of Baptist South in Montgomery, and we helped to share the opportunity for our listeners to come support. FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE

K R O W T A D O G 202 1 RE VIE W O F

THROUGH OUR MINISTRY by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations

There were countless changes in our lives during 2021, but we kept focused on the truth of Hebrews 13:8, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” He never leaves us, nor forsakes us, and He never changes. We had many opportunities during the year to feed people, some physically, but mostly a tremendous year of feeding people spiritually. Thank you for helping us provide a never-ending stream of music and programs that help so many people grow their faith in Jesus Christ!

FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE

We are much more than a radio station. Faith Radio is a ministry that comes alongside people with prayer and encouragement. Our prayer ministry went to new heights, as we prayed for our listeners, prayed for health care workers, and prayed with many other Christ-focused ministries, encouraging them as they also serve our community.

Of course, our ministry is full of technology and equipment, and we are thankful for a few of our technology needs being met during 2021. One tower light costs over $5,000 and one commercial rated power generator is over $20,000, and we need multiples of each! As we begin a new year, we have more technology needs among our nine sites to help grow our ministry work and share God’s love with even more listeners. Thank you for considering an extra gift to help us keep our network of stations boldly proclaiming the truth of God’s Word. FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE

Homesick

Heaven FOR

by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations

Heaven is a real place. We talk, sing, and share a lot about Heaven on Faith Radio, but as one person recently shared on the radio, we probably do not talk enough about Heaven. If you are like me, the more your family members pass away and go there, the more we long for Heaven and want to know more about it. As David Jeremiah shared on Faith Radio, “Heaven is the answer to the deepest longings of our heart.” The Bible tells us that a thousand years is but a day in Heaven. That tells us that our loved ones have gone ahead of us by about two seconds. Our loved ones are a far greater part of our future than of our past. Until we are reunited with the Lord and our loved ones, we must endure a tough and temporary separation. We need to be homesick for Heaven! The Bible does not tell us everything 8

about Heaven, but offers us glimpses of Heaven. As Tony Evans shared on Faith Radio, “those glimpses are enough to let us know that Heaven is where we want to go. God has prepared us a home in Heaven.” While Heaven will be a grand crescendo of worship throughout eternity, it’s most interesting and comforting to know what will not be in Heaven. In Revelation 21:4, we learn, “He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.” Health issues, broken down vehicles, and annoying car warranty phone calls will be no more! David Jeremiah reminds us, “there is no earthly vocabulary great enough to help us understand Heaven completely.” We do know, however, FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE

“ I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”

John 14:2-3

that the God who loves us, sustains us, and creatively makes the beauty of the sunsets promises us a new Heaven and new earth at the end of time! Heaven is not only a most beautiful and real place, but we need to remember that not everyone goes there. The Bible tells us how much we are loved, and how God provides a way for us to get to Heaven. We can’t earn our way to Heaven, but it is by God’s grace alone when we have full faith in Jesus Christ and accept His free gift of salvation. Isn’t it amazing to think that Jesus died for YOU? If you have not accepted this free gift of salvation, we want to provide ways you can talk with someone or find resources from our website to know for sure that you are going to Heaven. What a comfort to know that we will always be with the Lord! FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE

programmer’s spotlight God is using Faith Radio programmers to do significant ministry in creative and compelling ways. Tony Evans, who is heard on The Alternative weekday mornings at 9:30 on Faith Radio, recently achieved some noteworthy accomplishments. Both The CSB Tony Evans Study Bible and The Tony Evans Bible Commentary earned Bronze Awards from the Evangelical Christian Publishers Association (ECPA) for selling over 100,000 copies each. Another accomplishment was the celebration of the 40th anniversary of The Urban Alternative, the ministry headed by Evans. Yet another ministry accomplishment by Evans was his appearance in a movie titled Journey with Jesus. The movie, which was filmed in Israel, also featured Evans’ daughters Chrystal Evans Hurst and Priscilla Shirer. Randy Carlson, heard on Intentional Living Monday through Friday afternoons at 3:00, visited several locations around Arizona in November for a series of Intentional Love Marriage Date Nights. The events were designed to help couples build a “longterm, intentional marriage” and to encourage parents and grandparents. Several of the voices you hear on Faith Radio were part of the Legacy Grandparenting Summit at Birmingham’s Shades Mountain Baptist Church in September. Ken Davis of the feature, Lighten Up, and John Stonestreet of the Colson Center’s Breakpoint commentary, were part of the speaker lineup. Stonestreet also presented a free seminar during one of the nights of the conference called, Truth, Technology, and Identity: Three Major Shifts that Define our Cultural Moment. Chip Ingram, heard on Living on the Edge weeknights at 7:00, launched another Daily Discipleship with Chip series in September. It is a 17-day study of Romans chapter 12 called, True Spirituality, and is available through the ministry’s website. Ingram was a guest on The Meeting House on the launch date to discuss the new study. Each daily installment consists of a 10-minute video featuring a conversational teaching presentation by Ingram.

They often share with us how encouraging it is to hear other listeners share their comments! When you share your comments, you are doing Proverbs 27:17 - you are iron sharpening iron. Can you help us? You can share your comments in writing or even better, you can call our comment line and record 15-20 seconds of how the ministry of Faith Radio has touched your life. You don’t have to share your name; we just encourage you to give God the glory for what He has done through the ministry of Faith Radio!

A few of the comments we have received . . . “ I don’t know where I would be without Faith Radio. You help me keep my mind on things above.” “ I tuned in to hear what y’all were taking about, and I found what I needed - Jesus!” “ Faith Radio has helped me become a better steward of my finances.” “ Your programs have helped me to hear and trust God by starting my own ministry to help others in their time of need.” “ Your ministry has been a big part of my Christian walk over the years.”

PREPARING FOR HEAVEN We Can Know Where We’re Going

by Bob Crittenden, host of The Meeting House Now that our Christmas decor has been put away, we turn our attention to the new year and its new opportunities and challenges. For the past season, we have focused on Christ’s coming to earth - His First Advent. Because we have confidence that He fulfilled His promises in His first coming, we can be assured of His Second Advent, as well. We can look forward to being ushered into our heavenly home when we leave this world. We can be confident of our eternal destiny because we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It’s important that we continue to keep in mind where our ultimate home is while we live joyous, fruitful lives during our time on this earth. Rachel-Ruth Lotz Wright and her mother, Anne Graham Lotz (heard on Living in the Light Sundays at 6:30 p.m.), have been inspired by their family members who have gone to that eternal place and are determined to leave a faith legacy for the next generation. In a Meeting House interview, Rachel-Ruth related how she was inspired by her grandparents on both her mother’s and father’s side of her family, including her father, the late Danny Lotz. Those that have lived faithfully can certainly provide inspiration through their legacies. The mother-daughter combination coauthored the book, Jesus Followers: Real-Life Lessons For Igniting Faith in the Next Generation. Shannen Fields is an actress, known to FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE

Christian audiences as one of the stars of Facing the Giants. She was selected to co-host a new reality series called, Rebuild and Restore, which showed how widows were ministered to physically, through home repairs, and spiritually, through Christ-centered encouragement. Mishael Porembski of the Widow Strong ministry, whom I interviewed at the CBA show in Cincinnati in 2016 is involved in providing spiritual support. As she was filming the show, Shannen’s husband, Jimmy, passed away due to ALS. She was inspired by his witness for Christ and wrote on Instagram: “...I miss him like crazy but I have to carry on. But I don’t want to ‘just’ carry on. I want to walk the rest of my life out with purpose, speaking LIFE into others and I choose to ‘Live this day in view of that day’ (Jimmy Fields). That means to live TODAY but always live as if Jesus could return any moment.” She related to me how God has those widows to bring strength to her life. The point is that we all can desire to live a fulfilling life and leave a Christcentered legacy behind. We can run the race well because we have the Lord and fellow believers who walk with us along the way. 13

gifts in memory and in honor of... A memorial gift is a meaningful way to honor someone at the time of death by recognizing that person’s Christian faith and testimony. Similarly, an honorarium is a tangible way of honoring a living person’s testimony. We are thankful for individuals listed below who choose to honor friends and loved ones through a gift that extends the message of Christ through Faith Radio’s ministry. Gifts made as of November 17, 2021.

TREASURES IN HEAVEN by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations How do you store up your treasures in Heaven? This was discussed recently on Faith Radio, and it was shared that we store up our treasures in Heaven when we give to ministries that help people get there. Can we encourage you to invest in Faith Radio? We hear regularly from our faithful listeners who share how our ministry has helped them to understand more about Heaven and how putting their full faith in Jesus Christ is essential. Perhaps you have never had an opportunity to support this ministry financially, but could we encourage you to make a gift at this time? If you can, we would like to send you a very special Devotional Journal book to say thank you. This book includes devotionals by many of the voices you hear on Faith Radio, including David Jeremiah, Max Lucado, Tony Evans, John MacArthur, Joni Eareckson Tada, Anne Graham Lotz, and many more. As you make your gift, just ask for the new devotional Live By Faith, and we will send it to you as a thank you for making a gift to support our ministry work!
