As we approach Thanksgiving, which is the gateway to the Christmas season, we enter a period of expectation. Families look forward to reuniting over the holidays, while children expectantly fashion their Christmas lists. We even use tools like Advent wreaths to count down the days to celebrate Jesus’ birth.
For the Christian, all of life is lived in expectation. Yes, we annually celebrate the birth of Christ, just as we annually celebrate His death and resurrection. But, as believers, we are to live in daily expectation of His return. One song traditionally sung at Christmas beautifully captures both the ancient expectation of the first coming of the Messiah and the Christian expectation of His return. As we enter this season, meditate on the words and prepare your heart for Jesus.

“The real message of Christmas is not the gifts that we give to each other. Rather, it is a reminder of the gift that God has given to each of us. It is the only gift that truly keeps on giving.”
- Greg Laurie
“A lot of us will be able to show how God’s gifts benefitted us. But that’s not the question. The issue with a steward is, how did the King’s business fare under your management? Is the King better off? Was His agenda furthered?”
- Tony Evans
“As God’s children, we are not to be observers; we’re to participate actively in the Lord’s work. Spectators sit and watch, but we are called to use our spiritual gifts and serve continually.”
- Charles Stanley
“No words can express the magnificence of the gift God gave us in His Son, Jesus.”
- Chuck Swindoll
“Don’t assume you have to be extraordinary to be used by God. You don’t have to have exceptional gifts, talents, abilities, or connections. God specializes in using ordinary people whose limitations and weaknesses make them ideal showcases for His greatness and glory.”

REDEEMING MESSY FA MILY TREES
At Faith Radio, we are a trusted source for Biblical truth. We are blessed to share some phenomenal family programs that help strengthen and encourage the family unit to grow together and make a Kingdom impact. A listener shared recently, “I have really enjoyed listening to Family Life Today. I grew up in a broken home, and after experiencing a divorce of my own, I struggled with my faith. I’m now part of a blended family, and Family Life Today has given me great insight, encouragement, and resources to grow my family. They also helped me understand that God can still redeem my broken family.”
Our ministry is here to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. We want to remind you that you can never be undone in the love of Jesus. Out of a family line that looks like a mess, God brought the Messiah. God is the relentless rescuer of prodigals. Your life is never too messed up for Jesus to repair it. Jesus claims the wounded and worn out as His own.

Faith Radio’s lineup includes top-notch, solid Bible teaching from an assortment of some of America’s greatest Bible teachers. We want to keep you informed about how God is using these valuable members of our programming lineup.
From His Heart, featuring the Bible teaching of Jeff Schreve, is now heard weekday afternoons at 2:30. This is in addition to the normal programming time of Sunday mornings at 9:00. Schreve has been Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas, since 2003, and the church now has in excess of 4,500 members. From His Heart was launched in 2005 on both radio and television. The daily broadcast is heard on over 700 outlets, including Faith Radio. The website says, “Pastor Jeff passionately ‘tells it like it is’ with clear biblical content combined with engaging, personal stories that are relevant, compassionate, and humorous.” We invite you to tune in Monday through Friday at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday at 9:00 a.m. to hear messages that are “filled with proven principles for victorious living.”
Tony Evans, who is heard on The Alternative with Dr. Tony Evans, weekdays at 9:30 a.m., is encouraging believers to exhibit kindness. His ministry has launched a national initiative called “Kindness in the Culture” to spread an atmosphere of hope across the nation. Based on the Romans 12:21 admonition to “overcome evil with good,” the initiative is designed to “challenge believers to reclaim the attitude of civility that’s necessary for a peaceful and kind environment in our homes, our workplaces and our society.” On the website, individuals can become a Kingdom Kindness Ambassador and order free gospel cards and other resources. Evans encourages Ambassadors to do one act of kindness a week for someone and share the gospel with them. Visit tonyevans.org/kindness-in-the-culture to join this dynamic new initiative.
November brings two events presented by ministries of two Faith Radio programmers:
• The SoCal Harvest is a two-day event in Anaheim, California, featuring speaker Greg Laurie and a variety of musical guests, including Crowder, Phil Wickham, The Newsboys, and Jeremy Camp. Laurie can be heard on A New Beginning weekdays at 2:00 p.m.
•A Warrior Weekend in Lawrence, Mississippi, is “designed to serve American servicemen and women who have visible and invisible injuries as a result of war.” The event is sponsored by the ministry of Joni and Friends, which has two different features on Faith Radio, including Joni Eareckson Tada: Sharing Hope, heard weekdays at 10:25 a.m.

It’s always an exciting event when we partner with Energize Ministries! For Pastor Appreciation, our contest of a VIP experience at the Talladega Superspeedway NASCAR race went to Pastor Joe Ward from Coffee Springs. His guest was his worship leader, who happens to be his 92 year-old father, Ralph! It was a spectacular day, and we are thankful to Andy Bowersox for this experience to encourage a pastor.
God has provided us with many invitations over the last few months to pray for the community, schools, and security teams, and lift up the name of Jesus.
We were very blessed to be at the Sav-A-Life banquet in Covington County. In addition to seeing the ministry work at the Family Hope Center and meeting their Director Christy Watts, we were encouraged by the many listeners stopping by the Faith Radio booth.

God’s Gifts forUs UNWRAPPING
“Come and See”
by Bob Crittenden, Director of Special Projects
In the first chapter of the Gospel of John, we read that John the Baptist and two of his followers saw Jesus walking by. John pointed to Jesus and said to them, “Behold, the Lamb of God!” John’s disciples heard this and immediately followed Jesus. When they asked where He was going, Jesus replied, “Come and see.” The next day, Jesus called Philip to follow him, and later that day, when Philip told Nathanael that he had found the Messiah, he told an incredulous Nathanael, “Come and see.”
Come and see.
In the Christmas narrative, we see God gathering a group together as He introduces His Son to the world. With a similar “come and see” message, the angelic host announced His birth to
FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE8
awestruck shepherds. A bright star appeared as a guide to the magi to “come and see.” Jesus gathered the players in the story together and He desires for us to see the wonder of His coming to earth through their eyes.
Throughout the New Testament, we see a repeated invitation to all humanity to “come and see” Jesus and experience the gift of salvation. The thrill of unwrapping a package on Christmas morning can be exhilarating, but it cannot compare with the joy that we can experience when we truly “come and see” Jesus for ourselves. He wants us to “unwrap” His truth and to receive the gifts that He has provided, gifts that reflect His love for us.
In this year’s Faith Radio Advent Guide, 25: A Christmas Adventure, the theme is “Unwrapping Christmas.” The first seven days portray personal experiences of the characters of the Christmas story and show us gifts that we can “unwrap” for ourselves. We consider Mary’s declaration of worship to God and His gifts of salvation, mercy, and satisfaction. We also explore Zechariah’s words about the holiness and righteousness that are afforded to us, and the statement that Mary and Joseph “marveled” at what Simeon said to Him. Who can forget the proclamation to Joseph about Emmanuel, the beautiful name for Jesus that means “God with Us?” We also examine the precious gift of worship exhibited by the angels, shepherds, and the Magi. The remainder of the Guide looks at the numerous gifts that are available to the believer through Christ.
During this Christmas season, we will give and receive many wonderful gifts. We pray that you will allow this Advent guide and the teaching and music you hear on Faith Radio to motivate you to “unwrap” the gifts the Lord has provided us. Look more deeply into what God has done for us through Jesus. Not only will you experience the immeasurable blessings of those gifts, you will come to know the Giver better and worship Him more completely.

RENEW OUR MINDS, RELEASE HIS GIFTS The Meeting House Encourages You to Encounter God This Christmas
by Bob Crittenden, host of The Meeting House
Faith Radio is preparing for another exciting Christmas season as we celebrate through our Faith Radio programs, our continuous Christmas music from the day after Thanksgiving to the end of Christmas Day, and by offering a free Advent guide to you through our website.
The Meeting House will once again include content that complements the daily readings from our Advent guide, 25: A Christmas Advent-ure, entitled, “Unwrapping Christmas.” You will be hearing from a variety of guests throughout the Christmas season to enhance your experience.
My coverage of the Summer 2022 Christian Product Expo in Lexington, Kentucky, included two Christmasrelated conversations and interviews that centered on a variety of common threads.
Christine Trimpe, who has released an Advent guide, called, Seeking
Joy through the Gospel of Luke, which explores a chapter of the book of Luke each day during December until Christmas Day, discussed the importance of experiencing the joy of the Lord during the Advent season. Rhonda Robinson, who is adopted and used her biological name, Theresa White, as a pen name for her children’s book, The Legend of Christmas: An Untold Story of the Real St. Nicholas, instructs readers about the man upon whom the Santa character was based.
There were other common threads woven throughout conversations at the CPE event, including one that has been covered regularly on The Meeting House: how the Bible can help us to deal with mental health struggles. Guests speaking to that overall topic area included:
Julie Busler, who serves as President of the Oklahoma
FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE12
Women’s Missionary Union, and who has written, Joyful Sorrow: Breaking Through the Darkness of Mental Illness
Michelle Nietert, who is a Licensed Professional Counselor and co-author of the book, Make Up Your Mind: Unlock Your Thoughts, Transform Your Life, and Cynthia Ruchti, who has authored a hope-filled work of fiction in which the main character is experiencing a number of struggles, including depression.
Other guests spoke to issues surrounding our identity in Christ, including: Amanda Pittman, founder of Confident Woman Co., who has written the book, Stand in Confidence: From Sinking in
Insecurity to Rising in Your God-Given Identity, and
Bryan McIntosh, who has served in pastoral ministry and as an adjunct professor at a Christian college, the author of Made for Eden: Promises and Provisions for the Life God Created You to Live.
Other topics explored during the CPE event included strengthening marriages (Ryan and Jenny Brown, Pam Farrel), God’s faithfulness in difficult times (Andy Clapp, Carol Kent), and teaching children God’s Word (Eva Marie Everson and Michelle Medlock Adams, Mike Nawrocki and Amy Parker).
Our volunteer teams will be building seven foot Christmas Crosses in Montgomery and Dothan, and we will have them available mid-November. You can call 1-800-239-8900 to reserve your Christmas Cross or stay tuned for our distribution dates! Our donor of these Christmas Crosses recommends you make a donation to Faith Radio for each cross. WE WILL HAVE Christmas Crosses AGAIN THIS YEAR. 13FAITH RADIO’S MINISTRY MAGAZINE

GIVING GIFTS AT
by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations
To give at Christmas is what Christmas is all about. God started the giving tradition when He gave a gift of love wrapped in human flesh. Christmas is the celebration of the One who gave it all - the One who gave what we cannot earn. Jesus came to set us free from sin and death. We should be sharing this Christmas gift with everyone! Jesus came for you!
Because Jesus gave, we also should give. When you give to Faith Radio, you are sharing the best gift, the gift of our Savior. Will you partner with us this Christmas season? Your gifts to this ministry help others unwrap the greatest gift of all. Your financial gifts share the love story of how Jesus left the glory of the galaxies so He could come down into your depths. Faith Radio is helping strengthen your community, and is sharing the powerful Christmas message all year long.
