“You will be enriched in every way to be generous in every way, which through us will produce thanksgiving to God.” 2 CORINTHIANS 9:11

When Jesus comes into your life, He doesn’t just take over part of your life – he takes the whole thing. Jesus calls each of His followers to come and die, to give their lives wholly and completely to Him. He transforms us from taker to giver and puts in us a desire to live generously. The Christian life is a life of generosity, and not just with our money, but with everything we have. Matthew West has a song currently playing on Faith Radio that describes the generous life of a believer: All to You, Jesus, I freely give As long as there’s breath in these lungs I will live With reckless abandon, my heart in Your hands I surrender it all, I’m going, I’m going all in. This life of complete surrender is the life we are called to live. West closes the song with the reason why: I believe that one day I will see Your kingdom come And I wanna hear You say, “Welcome home my child, well done.” We live generously here and now in response to what God has done while looking forward to the hope that we have that He will return and find us faithful stewards of all with which He entrusted us.

CHILTON COUNTY, ALABAMA I have been listening to you for about 6 months. I know it’s time to get my life right. Please pray that God will lead me back into his glory and give me the wisdom to lead my family back to him. I know the time is near for the coming of the Lord. I don’t want me or my family left behind. COVINGTON COUNTY, ALABAMA What an amazing testimony! I have never heard John Geiger before, but his remarks touched my heart, humbled me, and encouraged me so much. Thank you for spotlighting John Geiger on The Meeting House. I would love to have him speak at our church or have his testimony available on dvd for sharing. God bless you, John. I have no doubt that the Lord will continue to find you faithful to your last breath. Praying for you and all God’s people to have a portion of that truth and faithfulness that I heard from you today!

Editors’ Note: Most all interviews on The Meeting House are available in the media center section of our website or app.

PIKE COUNTY, ALABAMA I have severe depression, no job, no savings. Feeling suicidal. Please say a prayer for me.

Editors’ Note: We follow up with all prayer requests first by praying and then calling/emailing those who contact us. We help them get professional help when needed.

PROGRAMMER “QUOTES” “We who have been recipients of God’s undeserved kindness and mercy and grace are to be channels of His generosity and His grace toward others.” - Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth “The Creator of all things invites you to enter into deeper levels of generosity with Him, so you can become wise in your giving and generous in living. When we begin to grasp God’s extravagant love and generosity toward us, we begin to be generous toward Him and others in His kingdom. The result: our generosity becomes a visible expression of our love for Him.” - Chip Ingram “In times of deepest sorrow, there can be a gratitude that rises up on the heart even as thanksgiving comes with tears. Gratitude fosters a heart full of gladness which overflows and spills out into acts of kindness and generosity towards others.”- Ravi Zacharias “When you realize your purpose in life isn’t only about you, God will use you in a mighty way.” - Tony Evans

by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations

God is using Faith Radio to minister to many people who have limitations that are keeping them homebound. We recently heard from a listener who shared, “What a gift to have found Faith Radio. I am disabled and sick, spending much of my time in bed. I use my Kindle to listen to your radio station – thank you for your encouraging programs, especially the audio Bible option!” Our ministry is blessed to have the resources available to provide a smartphone app so that listeners can tune in wherever they are. We thank the Lord for this technology so that we can connect and minister to our listeners! Another listener called us recently and shared, “I am visually impaired, and you just don’t know how much you mean to my life! We spend a lot of time together each day!” Thanks to our 24/7 broadcast, we are able to provide comfort, encouragement and strength to people all throughout their day. God is at work through Faith Radio, and it is a blessing to hear the stories of His faithfulness.

Do you have a Faith Radio story to share? We would love to connect with you!

Faith Radio loves to encourage and pray for pastors! We had a very unified group of River Region Pastors attend our Pray We were among the many vendors helping provide ministry services for those affected by disabilities during the Disability Expo at Eastmont Baptist Church in Montgomery.

Faith Radio was in the midst of 8,000 men who were motivated to stand firm in their faith during these important days.

Many listeners and church groups enjoy our Family Faith Nights, which always include great fun, food, and fellowship! 6

Clay Dyer recently spoke in Enterprise. He was born with no legs and one partial arm and is a tremendous evangelist and successful pro fisherman. He lives by the slogan “ if I can, you can.” He leans heavily on Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Pastor Dewayne Rembert stopped into our studios to share about his new book “Flatlined 2 NGauge,” which powerfully details how God transformed his life.

One of our most sought after interviews this year occurred when John Geiger stopped into our studios and shared “Reflections of a Dying Christian.” Motivated by his ALS, he challenged us to renew our innerman daily because 2 Corinthians 4:16 informs us our outer-man is decaying.

We enjoy sharing about our ministry and offering spiritual encouragement to groups throughout our listening area. It was a joy to be with these wonderful men at the Snowdoun Baptist Church Men’s Breakfast!

“When you walk in the fear of the Lord, you don’t treat God as a means to an end. You don’t relate to Him on the basis of what He can do for you. That would be using Him. When you love, respect and revere someone, it’s just the opposite. There’s no limit to your generosity and what you’re willing to give. You’ll give your time, your attention and your treasure.” – Tony Evans

Cultivating a Spirit of Generosity by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations

Faith Radio’s Ministry Magazine - August-October 2018

A

re you a generous person? Are you generous with your time, your talents, and your financial resources? How do you cultivate a spirit of generosity? We learn throughout scripture that genuine generosity is giving your first and best to God. Generosity flows out of a heart that treasures the Lord above all else. God has given us much so that we can give more, share more, and do more. God wants to make us generous with our lives. “Practicing generosity forces people to get outside of themselves. It helps them realize, ‘I’m living in a world of abundance. I actually have a lot. And because I do, I can share it.’ ” – Charles Stanley When we look at the life of Barnabas, we see an example of someone whose life was marked by a generous spirit. He was generous with his financial resources by selling a field he owned and putting all the money toward fueling the apostles’ work. He was also generous with his investment in young leaders, serving as a mentor to both Paul and John Mark. Barnabas was generous with his life. Your generosity to Faith Radio not only fuels us financially but also helps

us make investments in countless lives. Your generosity enables Faith Radio to support other ministries in our community by promoting and partnering with them. Your support helps our ministry to be generous with our airtime and provide commercial-free Christian programming 24 hours a day. Your help allows us to come alongside other churches and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Your generosity helps Faith Radio to be generous to our community. As Chip Ingram, one of our programmers, recently said on his show Living on the Edge, “The Bible teaches that the wisest thing we can do with our resources is to learn to invest them in His Kingdom; and that becoming a generous person is the smartest way to prepare for an eternal future.” Let’s be in prayer for the Lord to give us a generous spirit! “One of the greatest mistakes anyone can make is to think they own anything. God is the creator and owner of everything. What we have has been given to accomplish His purposes, not ours. We are to be good stewards of His possessions; we are to be channels of His goodness to others.” – David Jeremiah

“If you give, it will be given to you. And I have found that generous people are blessed people.” – Greg Laurie

PROGRAMMER SPOTLIGHT

W

e are so blessed to have high-quality, dedicated teachers who provide solid biblical messages on a regular basis on Faith Radio. While these programmers are positively impacting our listeners, many of their ministries are having a nationwide and even worldwide impact. Here are some recent developments from members of our Bible teaching team. DAVID JEREMIAH, heard on Turning Point, weekday mornings at 6:00, has announced his fall Overcomer tour, which will include a stop at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville on Sunday, October 7. Learn more at www.overcomertour.com. GREG LAURIE, whose radio program, A New Beginning, can now be heard on Sunday mornings at 9:30, was the featured speaker for the Harvest America crusade, originating at AT&T Stadium in Dallas and simulcast to numerous locations. The reported total attendance was over 35,000 in person, but with more than 100,000 people watching online and through Facebook Live. There were over 2,300 decisions for Christ! THE COLSON CENTER presented its 2018 Wilberforce Weekend in Washington, DC. In addition to Breakpoint hosts John Stonestreet (Colson Center President) and Eric Metaxas, Joni Eareckson Tada of Joni and Friends was also in the speaker lineup. The theme was “The Calling to Create, Confront, and Care.” The purpose of the annual event is “to equip Christians in Christian worldview and cultural renewal.” 10

The Meeting House God’s Economy: God’s Word has plenty to say about stewardship by Bob Crittenden, host of The Meeting House

The Meeting House is dedicated to providing inspirational content that can challenge you to think biblically about topics that affect our daily lives, including our use of money. I have been instructed that God has a certain “economy,” and it’s predicated on our wise use of what He has entrusted to us, recognizing that our financial resources belong to Him. From time-to-time, I have guests on the program who discuss our view of money. Scott and Bethany Palmer, who are known as The Money Couple, were regular guests for a season on the program and returned for a recent conversation about planning for vacation, the five money personalities, and a Biblical approach to wise stewardship of resources. Earlier this year, Russ Crosson from Ronald Blue Trust joined me to discuss applying biblical principles in the financial realm. Dean Niewolny, the CEO of the Institute, wrote a book called, Trade Up: How to Move From Just Making Money to Making a Difference. He has joined me on the program and encouraged others to consider how to “finish the game - to fuller, richer work and life.” I have also had the chance to chat with members of the team at Sound Mind Investing, including Mark Biller, who is now a regular guest on the MoneyWise program (weekday evenings at 6:00). God’s Word has much to say about how we should use the earthly resources he has entrusted us with to make an eternal impact. You can find any of the conversations described above on our website at faithradio.org, and tune in to The Meeting House for daily discussions of how we can apply the truths of God’s Word in our daily life.

Let’s Be World Changers by Billy Irvin, Director of Ministry Relations

When we give to someone in need, we change their world. When we change the world for someone else, we change it for ourselves, too. A Faith Radio listener recently shared, “Thank you for your Biblical teachings! I began supporting your ministry because I saw where you are making a difference in my community. You are also making a difference in my life. I’ve let generosity take root in my life, and it has produced the joy of giving.” This listener gave to change the lives of others and ended up seeing a change in herself. When you support the ministry of Faith Radio, you are changing the world around you! You help us be generous in doing God’s work using our tools of providing over 2,000 hours of Bible teaching and filling the airwaves with praise music to the Lord. Being generous helps us prepare for an eternal future. It changes our world. And the best investments we can ever make are in changing lives for the Kingdom!
