L’editoriale

L’ULTIMA FRONTIERA In a world in which dominant specialists tend to prosper, there is ample space for those who allow specialists to shine. Trade fairs are not the only places where an order can be placed, collections can be viewed or a product changes hand. It is important that the impulse to buy in itself gets nurtured, be it by exhibiting unique contents, making unexpected matches or engaging in knowledge sharing. Everybody should be driven by the will to contribute to something bigger than himself.

In un mondo in cui la specializzazione tende a essere la carta vincente, quelli che sono i contenitori e i punti di incontro degli specialisti, i saloni, hanno uno spazio completamente nuovo da ritagliarsi. Ovviamente nulla di tutto ciò che conteneva questo mondo in passato è ormai più di attualità.

Gli ordini si fanno sempre più via app virtuali, le collezioni si vedono in tempo reale sui social e le vendite transano in una modalità trasversale, che dà nuova attualità al termine click-and-mortar, solo apparentemente tramontato. Che ci stanno dunque ancora a fare dei meri momenti di incontro tra addetti ai lavori? Al netto di sentimentali filippiche sulla necessità di vedersi per costruire veri nessi professionali (ma si può fare anche altrove), rimane l’energia dirompente che in qualche modo si genera quando tante e talvolta grandi menti si incontrano. L’impressione che ne scaturisce è che vi sia un perché in tutto ciò, ma celato, velato da strati di vecchie abitudini, che vanno dismesse prima di arrivare al nuovo e vincente formato che va messo in piedi.

Senz’altro torna a essere importante la capacità di generare l’acquisto d’impulso, o almeno il suo stato antecedente, il primo interessamento. Sono i vecchi schemi in cui venivano suddivise le persone, invece, a diventare sempre più obsoleti.

Espositori, buyer, influencer, investitori e intermediari assumono oramai vesti variopinte e cangianti. L’arte nuova consiste nel coinvolgerli, tutti, in qualcosa di più grande di loro, a cui desiderano ferventemente contribuire.
