WELCOME The Fiesta Bowl experience may be best known for a premier Bowl Season football game, but the organization’s mission and vision go far beyond marching bands, fans and touchdowns. Our motto “More Than Just a Game®” is our game plan and has been since our founding in 1971. We demonstrate that commitment every day through charitable giving and endeavors in our pillars of youth, sports and education, pushing our impact beyond the on-field athletic feats. With support from the PlayStation® Fiesta Bowl, the Guaranteed Rate Bowl and numerous community events, Fiesta Bowl Charities donated $3.5 million this season to community nonprofit organizations and projects benefiting Arizonans. Among these projects was $1 million donated to 400 Arizona teachers through the Desert Financial Fiesta Bowl Charities Wishes for Teachers program. To succeed in football, there is more going on than just on the field. For us, that means playground builds, youth football clinics and tournaments, and the numerous events you will see featured in this Community Impact Report. We certainly could not do it without the endless support of our fans, partners, volunteers, board, committee, ambassadors and staff. Thank you all!

We loved your visit and hope you come back when our riverbed is complete – kindness will run through it forever!”

DESERT FINANCIAL FIESTA BOWL PARADE
PRESENTED BY LERNER & ROWE
We all love parades and the preeminent parade in Arizona every year is the Desert Financial Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Lerner and Rowe, which draws the largest single-day event attendance in the state. The theme of “Gold Standard: Commitment to CommUNITY” celebrated the Fiesta Bowl’s Founders and Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Alice Cooper. 62 • Fiesta Bowl
Giant balloons, colorful community floats, equestrian units, specialty and charity groups, local performers and much more marched through Downtown Phoenix on a two-mile Parade route that was televised live on Arizona’s Family 3TV in the most-watched local show of the day in Phoenix.
JEFF MESHEY, PRESIDENT & CEO, DESERT FINANCIAL “There is no better way to celebrate the Fiesta Bowl and our community than with this parade. It brings the whole community together and the Desert Financial team is proud to be a part of that. It’s so great to be able to celebrate the Fiesta Bowl’s 50-year history with its Founders and local icon Alice Cooper as grand marshals.”
KEVIN ROWE, FOUNDER/PARTNER, LERNER & ROWE “We believe that together we can do more to impact our community and the Desert Financial Fiesta Bowl Parade presented by Lerner & Rowe does just that, it brings people together… The Parade, like Lerner & Rowe, is an Arizona staple and we are excited to help the tradition grow.” Community impact report • 63
