Challenging times Brexit loomed large on the agenda of the SAGB’s 51st annual conference
T
he 51st annual conference of the Shellfish Associa�on of Great Britain (SAGB) took place for the first �me on Zoom this year, and despite my personal dislike of Internet-based events, it turned out to be both informa�ve and enjoyable. Conference presenta�ons covered produc�on, interna�onal and UK trade, trading opportuni�es, research and funding, and spanned both the wild-caught and farmed shellfish sectors represented by SAGB. Held over three days, from 12-14 May 2021, the conference opened with CEO David Jarrad se�ng the scene on the many issues facing the shellfish industry.
