Being a “First Class Apple Partner” and European leader in the organic segment, VIP guarantees a first-class customer service and the year-round availability of organic apples from Val Venosta. Thanks to the restructuring of its distribution system, the Val Venosta Cooperatives Association is now able to offer an even more flexible and faster customer service.

Global crises, the increasing number of new apple varieties and the customers’ need for information and support place complex demands on sales. In order to cope with these challenges in the best possible way, VIP has further developed its sales structure: Since the 2022 harvest, the sale of all Val Venosta apples has been managed centrally by own sales representatives in the association, which consists of seven cooperatives with around 1,600 producers. VIP has thus made the next consistent step in its continuous development since its foundation. The new organizational model enables to master the different challenges with the necessary professionalism and specialization in all areas. VIP is thus even closer to its customers as a “first class apple partner”, which is particularly important in times of crisis: with an individual and intensified support which specifically addresses the requirements of the individual markets and customers. VIP also plays a leading role in organic farming in Europe: Due to about 20% of organically farmed areas, VIP has exceeded the threshold of 50,000 tons of organic apples. All organic apples from Val Venosta are produced according to the strict guidelines of the Bioland or Demeter associations, which go far beyond the legal EU standards. In 2019, VIP put an own state-of-the-art organic packaging plant for the sorting and processing of all organic apples from Val Venosta into operation. This modern storage and control center enables a high-quality apple management. VIP checks and guarantees the high product quality of its organic apples with complete quality checks. VIP thus confirms its leading position in the organic sector, pursuing the goals of the European Green Deal and the farm-to-fork strategy at the same time. Both organic farmers in Val Venosta and VIP place great importance to a wide range of varieties. Gala, Golden Delicious, Kanzi®, Ambrosia™, Topaz, Braeburn or Pinova are just some of the apple varieties that are organically produced in Val Venosta. The organic assortment has recently been enriched by to new apple varieties that are able to close the gap in the second half of the season: Bonita and Cosmic Crisp®. VIP can thus perfectly meet the needs of the individual markets and the different tastes of consumers. VIP offers organic apples of the highest quality from Val Venosta on 365 days a year and thus ensures supplies all year round.

Today’s customers increasingly want to know where their food comes from and how it is produced. Thanks to its unique “BioGraphy” project, VIP enables the transparent traceability of every single organic apple from Val Venosta with the help of a label on the packaging that indicates the name of the organic producer. You can then go to the biography.vip.coop internet platform to see the portrait of the respective apple farmer with his/her story in texts, pictures and videos. In this way, BioGraphy does not only ensure the complete traceability of its organic apples, but also allows emotional encounters with the people behind them.
