Plus, they come in every shape and style that may cross your mind. This eye catcher is as cool as they are Insta-friendly, which means no bad outfit day with this one. ROMANCE MEETS FASHION
Frills
face it, we all sometimes feel overwhelmed with hundreds of trends coming and going. Just when you got your head around cut-out matching sets and button dresses, the fashion world is embracing another challenging trend. Luckily, fashion love for ruffles and frills is not fading even this season which means they are here to stay. So how to make this ladylike trend even more exciting? Our advice is very simple - invest in a high quality ruffled dress, a piece that’s versatile enough to rock from the office to the bar and looks powerful and feminine in the same time. Ideally, you can hunt for a staple that is mid-length and has sleeves - this way you can wear it throughout the season, layering it with blazer or denim jacket in the autumn and pairing it with sandals in the summer. If you want to make the look edgier, add trendy accessories (belt bag, anyone?) which will do their magic. ISSUE 3 | FASHIONTOGO-FTG.COM

How has expressing feelings and attitude became fashionable
If
there’s anything that has been in your mind, now is the good time to express it. Well, at least when it comes to the fashion. We have seen luxury designers such as Maria Grazia Chiuri for Dior and Prabal Gurung sharing some statement thoughts and powerful messages on the runway this fall,
however, the movement moved to the streets during the spring-summer season. In fact, slogan tees and graphic t-shirts became a real head-turner as independent feminists around the globe are passionately celebrating #girlpower, diversity and equal love. Those seem to be the hottest topics,
especially with the current political and social climate in the air. Empowering slogan shirts are more than just a garment though, they go beyond fashion too; it’s really about opening your mind and embracing the difference and feelgood lifestyle.

Midi skirt
Nothing
beats a good old classic wardrobe staple especially when it suits every shape and makes a perfect everyday dressed-up material! This exactly happened with knee-length and midi skirts which had their unexpected comeback earlier this year becoming the most desirable and versatile item fashionistas have in her closet. The figure-flattering piece is anything but classic though, it can be as casual as glamorous and everything in between, but one thing is for sure; it has an high-impact and effortlessly chic effect. Fashion brands such as Prada, Erdem, Gucci and Balenciaga thought it’s a good idea to mix and match the piece with romantic tops and edgy jackets, while high-
street retailers, on the other side, embraced the runway inspiration by offering affordable interpretations in a shape of asymmetric, satin, wrap and frilly skirts. If the super trendy wardrobe is more of your jam, go with the wrap or button front options which both look unbelievably polished with white spaghetti strap shirts, however, if you are looking for a timeless piece based on quality and elegance, pencil and denim skirts may be the right choice. Get your Instagram-ready style to the next level by pairing the midi skirt with an off-the-shoulder top, stylish straw fedora hat and mid-heel mules. Don’t forget to spice up the look with some minimalist jewels such as seashell earrings and necklaces and a lovely pair of shades. ISSUE 3 | FASHIONTOGO-FTG.COM

If there is a tool that helps make your skin look more natural and glowing, highlighter would take the throne. WET’N WILD Megaglo Highlighting Powder I love this produc because it’s a great tone for every day, and can eliminate a step in my morning routine. It’s also cruelty-free and PETA-certified, as all Wet’n Wild products are. The color I picked up is “Precious WET’N WILD Megaglo HighPetals” which is a shimmery pink lighting powder/Crown of my Conopy, £5 at Beauty gold. It’s one of the lightest shades The Shop in the collection and is great for everyday wear. It’s a beautiful rose shade, which can double as a blush. There are a large assortment of colors available at drugstores, and there are even some fun colors like purple and silver. For a subtle glow, you can also use it as an eyeshadow like I did. I blended a light grey into the crease and a white into my browbone. This is great way to get some great makeup for less than the cost of lunch.

be easily blended into the skin and doesn’t look too heavy, plus works really well for those who have a dry skin. If your skin goes under the oily category, you may consider baked powder or cream highlighter. Another trick is to avoid highlighting the nose, forehead and chin or the famous t-zone. The creamy formula suits best those who are looking for a warm, subtle and natural-looking glow. Many beauty brands offer strobe creams which are great and easy choice for daily radiance-boosting. This beautiful, luminous finish is everything your face needs this summer, you have our word!

which means better skin elasticity and a glowing, more youthful look. They simply help to improve tone, texture and quality of the skin within. By using hair and nails boosting products, however, you will benefit from healthy hair growth and beautiful nails which are not splitting or breaking. Is it worth it? Okay, this all sounds amazing, but it is really working? I’ve been using vitamins myself for over 6 months and can see the difference. Radiance from the inside comes in different shapes too - the industry offers supplements in a form of pills, powder, chewable gummies or liquid. If you are looking for a vegan or vegetarian option, gummies are best to avoid because of gelatin, while some pills contain animal ingredients such as fish proteins and bee pollen. Most of them are free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives, as well as gluten-free. to a menstrual cup reviewcouple of years ago. With the phrases describing it as convenient, hygienic, reusable and less toxic for your body, I had to give it a try. The basics. Branded menstrual cups are priced around £15-25, which makes the investment worth the money compared to monthly expenses of buying tampons and pads. They are made of smooth medical-grade silicone which collects rather than absorbs period blood up to 12 hours. There are different sizes and models, depending on the birth histories, cup capacity or the size of your cervix. Most of the cups come with a pouch or a little container so it’s easy to store them. From my experience, insertion and removal might be the most challenging part, especially for the first-time users, since the cup works on the principal of the vacuum seal. However, once you find a pose that’s comfortable enough you will quickly master the C or V-fold insertion technique and won’t have any trouble getting it out. The effect. But let’s move to the good stuff. Why I love it so much? Obviously, you can’t change the fact that having a period is part of your life, however, you want to make it as compy as possible. After using the menstrual cup, I’ve actually noticed that my period is shorter and my cramps are less painful than usual. Since it can be used for over 8 hours even on heavy days, it’s super practical for everyone who feels the most confidence to clean it and wash at home, but it’s also useful for busy days, travelling and similar situations. Oh yes, and it’s way more eco-friendly than regular products. With this being said, would you give it a go?

You don’t have to travel across the world to see countless examples of animal abuse for human entertainment. The circus is a perfect case. This type of a modern entertainment is everything but entertaining for those on the wrong side of the stage. Circus life is stressful for the animals such as tigers, lions, elephants and horses in so many ways: they are living in extremely poor conditions as being chained and kept in cages every single day, they have to put up with unnatural loud noises and big crowds while being forced to perform often dangerous trainings and performances. “Many animals develop behavioural and/or health problems as a direct result of the captive life that they are forced to lead.”, explains RSPCA. In England, “circus is it still Insta animals are protected by worthy? the Animal Welfare Act”, however, the real question is does it has any impact? We can still see many circuses using and abusing these animals daily just to make us entertained for an hour or two. Is it really worth it? However, the good news is that Environment Secretary Michael Gove recently announced that wild animals will be banned from circuses in England by 2020. This means that the UK could join just over 40 countries who implemented bans on the use of wild animal in circuses. Hopefully, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, as many people become aware of the important issue. Next time you see a similar animal involved show, ask yourself what is the truth behind it. The UK's best cities FOR VINTAGE FINDS AND QUIRCKY SHOPS by Ciandra Birnbaum

Glasgow
Glasgow is well known for its amazing street style, so much so Vogue even did a magazine spread about it in 2014! With such incredibly stylish residents, it’s no wonder that their secondhand shops are up there at the top too! I’ve only visited Glasgow myself once or twice but the city is packed full of charming little vintage shops with cute names like “The Magpie’s Nest” and “Handbags and Gladrags” and a couple of very good charity shops for those unafraid to rummage through piles of old men’s t-shirts and sweaters. I am certainly not afraid to get down and have a good rummage, you find the best bits that way!

When it comes to second-hand fashion and going vintage, the UK is home to many charity shops with plenty of both boutique and chain second-hand stores dotted around the country. I have travelled far and wide across the UK to discover many of the best places to pick up little vintage bargains that no one else can find! So, if you’re thinking about going the extra mile (by literally going the extra mile) to find that unique piece, then here are my 5 best places to visit in the UK.

I’d suggest visiting any one of the city’s charity shops, (St Vincent de Paul, War on Want or Oxfam) for an adventurous and memorable shopping trip. Or if you’re looking for something a little bit more straightforward (which I normally am!), the Rusty Zip is one of Belfast’s most popular charity shops. Its online platform has been growing for years now, even expanding into the world of online shopping. The shop, however, is not worth missing as its fun and quirky with ridiculously low prices! Vintage shopping in Manchester has never been better! I suggest wandering around the fashionable Northern Quarter of the city, (particularly the side streets surrounding Thomas Street, Tib Street and Oldham Street) and stopping wherever takes your fancy. If you want a break from shopping you can also pop into some excellent coffee houses and old record shops scattered around the area as well, a great day out! Manchester’s vintage addicts will tell you that a shopping trip to Manchester isn’t complete without a visit to Affleck’s Palace. Dating back to the early 80’s and housed in an old department store, you will find a maze of independent and vintage ministores that are an icon of the Manchester scene. Trust me, you can spend hours in there!

Sheffield

I go to university part-time in Sheffield, and after a day of lectures always find a time to pop into some charity shops. West Street and Division Street are the best go-to areas! I’d also suggest Cow Vintage for bright colours and jazzy patterns (tip: like them on Facebook and find out when they announce their semi-regular student price deals!). G Sheffield is also home to some great vintage fairs, which are definitely worth a visit if you happen to be in the area. Sheffield Does Vintage which is held at The Cutler’s Hall has racks and racks of fine vintage pieces, plus live music to add to the atmosphere. Lou Lou’s Vintage Fair was rated one of the best vintage fairs in the UK 2 years running with pieces from 1920-1990 and additional “vintage hair salon” for pin-up style updos or intricately braided victory rolls. Get there early to find the perfect hairstyle and dress combination and still have plenty of time to enjoy their afternoon tea selection! ISSUE 3 | FASHIONTOGO-FTG.COM
Now, I can’t talk about fashion hotspots without mentioning London, now can I? When it comes to vintage shopping in the UK, it’s hard to beat London. It’s a Mecca for vintage fashion lovers with hidden treasures just waiting to be found. High street shops are fashionable but the prices can sometimes be too much for young business women like myself, so a trip to Covent Garden, Camden Market, Soho or Shoreditch will certainly help you discover something incredible and reasonably priced. Kate Moss, one of my fashion idols, loves Rellik on Golbourne Street and you can tell why. With stunning gowns, pearls, designer shoes, bags and purses, Rellik prices can run on the expensive side. The store is gorgeously curated so that you can easily find a Yves St Laurent dress or a pair of Gucci pumps from 1964. It might not have the hipster cred of somewhere like Shoreditch but it is certainly the place to go for truly unique vintage designer pieces.
