Frontmen Iron Maidena, Bruce Dickinson
POČASNI GRAĐANIN SARAJEVA Gradsko vijeće Grada Sarajeva dodijelilo je priznanje Počasni građanin Grada Sarajeva Bruceu Dickinsonu, frontmenu Iron Maidena i solo umjetniku. Dickinson je napisao knjigu What Does This Button Do? u kojoj spominje upravo svoj boravak u opkoljenom Sarajevu.

NOVOSTI Adnan Hajrulahović Haad’s Fashion Show
ELIZABETH OF BOSNIA
A fashion show of B&H fashion designer Adnan Hajrulahović Haad called Elizabeth of Bosnia was held at Sarajevo City Hall. Haad presented a new collection which reflects his view of the world around him. His fashion shows always send strong messages. Elizabeth of Bosnia is a fashion and artistic story about B&H identity and continuity through the character of a really strong woman. That woman demonstrates that women have always assumed a very important position in our society. Elizabeth is symbolic as she represents solid evidence that Bosnia has always been a European country, and Elizabeth was a Bosnian princess who was a sovereign ruler of Hungary and Poland and bore the prefix Bosnian. The message of the fashion show is the power of women in the society, the continuity of cultural heritage and tradition and the fact that B&H belongs in Europe, and as such it sends the message of peace and unity in terms of history.

In late November, Sarajevo and Bosnia and Herzegovina had the chance to welcome some distinguished guests, and all thanks to the candidature of the city of Sarajevo as the host for a Formula E race in 2020. The guests were Jean-Éric Vergne, driver of the DS TECHEETAH, and Edmund Chu, President of the team and member of the board of football club Manchester City, gave their support to Mayor Abdulah Skaka and the initiator of the idea Samir Cerić, in their intent to organize the Formula E 2020 race in the capital of our country. The visitors also had a chance to see the DS TECHEETAH car, DS E-Tense FE19, which was brought directly from Paris for this occasion. Hosting this race would mean much more than a mere sports spectacle for Bosnia and Herzegovina. It would promote the economic and touristic potential of Sarajevo, placing the city on the map, independently from BiH. It would attract new investors and enable fast economic development and the rebirth of the entire region.

Aerodrom / Airport
Istanbul
The first phase of the third Istanbul airport was inaugurated on Turkey’s National Day on 29th October. The Istanbul Airport is one of the three largest international airports. It has the world’s largest terminal under a single roof and will contribute up to 5 percent to Turkey’s GDP. Moreover, in its first phase it will serve 90 million passengers annually and by 2023 it will serve up to 150 million travelers a year. About 350,000 tonnes of steel and 10,000 tonnes of aluminum have been used in the construction of the new airport which will also be home to the world’s largest duty-free shopping complex. Having in mind all that this airport has to offer, it will not be just another magnificent airport, but an entire city.

INTERVIEW
Glavna urednica programa TVSA, novinarski posao obavlja s istim žarom i entuzijazmom kao i prije 20 godina
O
I, nije bilo radnog vremena, niko ga nije ni spominjao. A kako je danas baviti se novinarstvom? - Jednom novinar, uvijek novinar. Isti žar i entuzijazam osjećam i danas, uz dodatak dugogodišnjeg iskustva.
Volim tu bliskost koju imam s gledateljima. 18 godina “dobro jutro” uz osmijeh mojim Sarajlijama, a i Željovcima posebno, (smijeh) meni je činilo zadovoljstvo
15
- Zdrava i sretna porodica, prije svega. Čaša je uvijek do pola puna, a ne prazna. Always look at the bright side of life – pjevali su Pajtonovci.
Nekada me pozitivno iznenadi kada u zemljama regiona neko prozove moje ime i kaže ”teta Amela s TVSA”. Volim tu bliskost koju imam s gledateljima. 18 godina “dobro jutro” uz osmijeh mojim Sarajlijama, a i Željovcima posebno, (smijeh) meni je činilo zadovoljstvo. Kako provodite svoje slobodno vrijeme? - Definitivno Egipat! Ostaci te drevne civilizacije, kulturno naslijeđe, fantastična Giza, Asuan, Nil, ljubaznost ljudi, ljepota Sahare, Nubijci i njihovi običaji, šarenilo začina i finih delicija na nubijskoj pijaci, pijaca na Nilu, grobnice faraona, hram kraljice Hatšepsut, Karnak, Kairo..., mogla bih nabrajati u nedogled.

Obavezno treba da vidi naše rijeke, planine, jezera i more.

INTERVJU
T
his year, Sarajevo Television Station celebrated its 20th anniversary. The jubilee is one of the reasons why we decided to talk to the TVSA chief program editor, Amela Hubjer Hatić. Before assuming her current position, Amela was a journalist, a reporter, the morning program editor, entertainment and special program editor, as well as head of the entertainment and cultural and art program editorial board. Since its inception to the present day, you have been a part of the TVSA team. How come you have stayed so loyal to this TV station for so many years? - People usually say you never forget your first love, and that’s what happened to me and TVSA. I made a connection with the station from day one. I lived with my family in Sarajevo throughout the war and it was only logical that I’d audition in 1998 and start working at TVSA. I love Sarajevo, B&H and Bosnian people, and my TVSA belongs to Sarajevo, to Bosnia, to all peeps. How important is the cantonal television station for the people of Sarajevo? - They need a TV station such as ours, because we serve them. Our concept is to cover stories from the local to the global level. That’s our comparative advantage in comparison with other TV stations. What do you think of your early career as a journalist? What was it like to be a journalist at the time? - I began my career by working at the popular RadioSarajevo 202 station. Those days were wonderful— we learned, researched and were very respectful. The time we spent working there left an indelible mark on all of us and defined us as journalists. Priceless learning experience! The audition and the early days at TVSA were a totally new dimension of working for an electronic media outlet. It’s been wonderful; there’s been a lot of enthusiasm, strong desire to do as best as you can and learn everything there is to learn. Television implies team work, because people of different professions cannot

work without each other: journalists, cameramen, video editors… Their work is woven into the fabric of the final product. And, we had no working hours, nobody even mentioned such hours. What is it like to be a journalist nowadays? - Once a journalist, always a journalist. I feel the same drive and enthusiasm today, plus my long-standing experience. I believe it’s a good formula particularly when you add the advancements in technology, the speed which allows you to report the information you have and do TV shows to the equation, the sky is the limit. But unfortunately, I have to add that over the years it’s become increasingly difficult for journalists to do their job in a professional manner. Politics has become heavily involved in all aspects of life, including journalism. You specialized in editing entertainment programs at WOA in Missouri. What can you tell us of your experience in Missouri? - The experience I’ve had at the oldest university with a program in journalism is priceless, as well as practical experience we gained at renowned TV stations such as NBC, FOX NEWS, ABC, WOA... All this has helped me to improve the TV shows and programs at TVSA that I’m editing today. So far, you have been a journalist, a reporter, an editor, and you’ve worked on various projects. What do you do best? - New projects are my biggest challenge. Launching new TV shows which aim to educate, entertain and lighten up TVSA viewers. I love shooting news reports about places, people, and customs. I love creating entertaining content, anything that has a

I love this closeness that I have with viewers. Saying “Good morning” and smiling to my Sarajevans, particularly Željo fans (laughs), has been a real pleasure for the past 18 years positive impact on viewers. I don’t like it when I have bad news to report. Right now, I’m chief program editor at TVSA and that’s my greatest challenge. There must have been some tough moments too. Television is a stressful media outlet. Since you have kept an optimistic attitude, how do you tackle stress and deal with bad days? - A healthy and happy family, above all. The glass is always half full and not empty. Always look at the bright side of life — Monty Phyton sang. That’s my motto in life. My husband taught me that even at the most difficult moments in life, and there’s been one too many difficult moment, I always keep my eye on the future. The bottom line is, it’s all about genes. I was born like that, that’s what I was made of (laughs). What was the most wonderful experience you have had as a journalist? - The sense that I made viewers happy and content about what I do; I also made a lot of acquaintances and quite a few friends; I met people that I wouldn’t have met otherwise, had I not worked as a journalist… That’s what I believe means to be rich. I’m sometimes positively surprised when someone from the region calls my name and says “that’s Mrs Amela from TVSA”. I love this closeness that I have with viewers. Saying “Good morning!” and smiling to my Sarajevans, particularly to Željo fans (laughs), has been a real pleasure for the past 18 years.
go to the mountains—Bjelašnica and Igman. I love these mountains ever since the Olympic Games took place. Judging from your photos on social media, you love to travel. What’s the most enjoyable phase of travel for you? - The initial phase: expectation and departure – I love it best. I love departing, but also coming back to my Sarajevo. What is the trip that you have the fondest memories of and why? - My trip to Egypt, definitely! What’s left of this great civilization, cultural heritage, fantastic Giza, Aswan, the Nile, people’s kindness, the beauty of Sahara Dessert, Nubians and their customs, colourful spices and fine delicacies in the Nubian market, the market on the Nile, pharaohs’ tombs, the mortuary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Karnak, Kairo… I could go on like this for hours. Egypt should be experienced by taking a boat ride along the Nile! You often travel around the country. What would you recommend to those visiting B&H for the first time? - To stay longer in B&H in order to see as much of its beauty as they can. Our homeland is wonderful, and its people are even more wonderful. Visitors should definitely get to see our rivers, mountains, lakes and the sea. There’s nothing like it anywhere else in the world. They should drink water at Baščaršija, and stay here indefinitely, like many other people have done before. In Bosnia and Herzegovina there’s room for all people with good intentions…
What do you do in your spare time?
So far, you have been a journalist, a reporter, an editor, and you’ve worked on various projects. What do you do best?
- I spend most of my free time with my family. My children have already grown up, but like any other mother, I love it when my husband and I can be there for them. I enjoy having them around. I also have two dogs, and I wouldn’t trade them for anything in the world. They are a great pastime activity for us. I love to read a good book, and I always turn to the Russian classics. When I can, I
- New projects are my biggest challenge. Launching new TV shows which aim to educate, entertain and lighten up TVSA viewers. I love shooting news reports about places, people, and customs. I love creating entertaining content, anything that has a positive impact on viewers. I don’t like it when I have bad news to report. Right now, I’m chief program editor at TVSA and that’s my greatest challenge.

After enjoying the nature, it’s time for lunch. You won’t have to think long and hard when choosing, as it would be hard to walk through Baščaršija without trying some traditional dishes. Don’t hesitate to ask a local for advice.
In the evening, you should be in front of the Sarajevan Cathedral, where you’ll feel the magic of Sarajevo with youth orchestra MuzikArt, who will perform the most well-known classical compositions and evergreen songs.
After lunch, we recommend you to rest for a while, because there is a lot of fun things to do in Sarajevo on this Saturday night. MONDAY, DECEMBER 31, 2018 The morning of December 31, like all mornings in Sarajevo, starts with a good coffee. You can have just that kind of coffee at Ministry of Ćejf. After that, head towards Sarači Street, where you must try some Bosnian sweets like hurmašica, baklava, tufahija... and if you want to try something new, you’re in the right place, as it is on this street that you’ll find Trdelnik – a traditional Czech delicacy in the shape of a chimney. You can also enjoy yourself at Ilidža, the place of thermal spring waters. It is only a 15-minute drive towards a pleasant stroll or ride on a horse-drawn carriage through Velika Aleja to Vrelo Bosne. A walk might make you tired, so we recommend lunch at „Superfood“, „Barhana“ or „Kilim“. Spectacular New Year’s Eve program already starts at 9:00 p.m. in front of the Eternal Flame, and New Year’s Eve will be marked by magic with one of the biggest stars from this region and the hits of Hari Mata Hari. So have a Happy New Year!
TUESDAY, JANUARY 1, 2019 You must not leave Sarajevo without visiting the Yellow Fortress or White Fortress, places which have the most beautiful view of the city. While at Baščaršija, you should also visit the wonderful places of worship, which are a symbol of the city’s multiculturalism, which you’ll be able to see for yourself. They don’t call Sarajevo a „European Jerusalem“ for no good reason. In the first night of 2019, visitors will be entertained by Branko Đurić Đuro with cult pop-rock band Bombaj štampa in front of the Eternal Flame. If you find yourself freezing – the doors of clubs and restaurants are wide open. You can have a rerun of New Year’s Eve at a place of your choosing. Welcome to Sarajevo!

Ovaj božićni kutak svijetli u šarenim bojama božićnih ukrasa i prigodnih dječijih 3D likova, prepun muzičkih i dramskih programa, plesnih nastupa i prigodnih darova.

Saturdays at Đardin are reserved for kids’ programs, whereas Sundays are reserved for orchestral performances as well as classical and religious choir performances. Aiming to create a holiday atmosphere on squares throughout the city, Gaje Bulata Square will become Street Artists Square in December and street artists’ everyday performances will make it resonate with the unique sound of Christmas.

BUDVA
Rich New Year’s Program in a Mediterranean environment Budva, the tourism metropolis of Montenegro, is known as a summer tourist destination, where half of the total income derived from tourism is made. The small town is visited by around a million tourists annually. In the region, Budva is known as a place of gathering during New Year’s holidays, and it all started in 2000, when the local self-government decided that the beautiful square in front of the Old Town would become a concert space, unique in the world, surrounded by ancient walls, over 2500 years old. Within the first year, when Zdravko Čolić, Indexi, Gipsy Kings, Atomsko Sklonište and many others performed on stage in front of the numerous guests and locals, it became clear to all that Budva was aiming to host the biggest stars of the region and to maintain the label of tourist capital throughout the entire year. There is almost no significant musical star from former Yugoslavia that has not performed on the square in Budva. This year marks two decades of the best concerts and New Year’s celebrations. With a recognizable brand of New Year’s Eve concerts, the Tourism Organization of the Municipality of Budva also added a classical music concert to the repertoire a decade ago, which is traditionally held on January 1 in the afternoon. At that time, in the still sleepy Budva, the sounds of recognizable arias performed by great opera stars of the region can be heard. This year, in honor of the significant jubilee, the Tourism Organization and the local self-government decided to prepare 5 unforgettable days.
S nama u avanturu
The program will start on December 28, when local band Most Wanted will perform, followed by the bands Who See and Beogradski Sindikat. On Saturday 29.12., the evening concert will be performed by Ethno band Zora from Bar, and later on the audience will have a chance hear famous folk singer Halid Bešlić and pop star Marija Šerifović. On Sunday, December 30, there will be electronic music with local and world-famous DJs Burak Yeter and Darren Emerson. The craziest night of the year will begin with Budva-based band Jack Lupino & Leftovers, while the rest of the evening, until midnight, we will be relaxing with the recognizable hits of Aerodrom and the star of the evening Dino Merlin. The classical music concert is planned to take place in the afternoon of the first day of the New Year, while the rest of the night will pass with the sounds of rock, when Akademia from Bar and Belgrade-based bands Partibrejkers and Van Gogh will take their place on the stage. On December 29 and 30, the square in front of the Old Town will reverberate with the sounds of children, as from 12 p.m. there is a special program prepared for them, and the sounds of Gradska Muzika and Castell Nuovo will enrich the Mediterranean environment.

If you are a beginner, ski school coaches will warn you about the code of conduct in snow traffic so that you would not endanger your own life or the lives of other skiers. Skiing is the perfect way to relax, but do not forget, skiing is very dangerous if you do not behave in accordance with the rules established by the International Ski Federation (FIS).
1.
3.
A skier or snowboarder must behave in such a way that he does not endanger or prejudice others.
2.
Skijaš mora svoju brzinu i način skijanja da prilagodi svom znanju i vještini, kao i vremenskim i ostalim uslovima na terenu. A skier or snowboarder must move in control. He must adapt his speed and manner of skiing or snowboarding to his personal ability and to the prevailing conditions of terrain, snow and weather as well as to the density of traffic.

A skier or snowboarder coming from behind must choose his route in such a way that he does not endanger skiers or snowboarders ahead.
4.
A skier or snowboarder may overtake another skier or snowboarder above or below and to the right or to the left provided

REVIEW that he leaves enough space for the overtaken skier or snowboarder to make any voluntary or involuntary movement.
5.
A skier or snowboarder entering a marked run, starting again after stopping or moving upwards on the slopes must look up and down the slopes that he can do so without endangering himself or others.
6.
At accidents, every skier or snowboarder is duty bound to assist.
10.
Every skier or snowboarder and witness, whether a responsible party or not, must exchange names and addresses following an accident.

8.

Olympic Beauty
Bjelašnica
O
ur capricious beauty, as Bjelašnica is also referred to, was always a favourite for many skiers, especially after the 14th Winter Olympic Games, where many skiing legends competed. Due to the very harsh winters, 0,7°C is supposed to be the average annual temperature on this mountain, which is also known as the highest ski centre in BiH.
SNOW WITHIN 48 HOURS With snowmaking, Bjelašnica can be full of snow within 48 hours. A ski lift with 65 six-seat chairs, goes from Babin Dol to the Međustanica (Intermediate stop) at the speed of 6 kilometres per hour, and the run lasts 5.5 minutes. A ski lift with 21 fourseat chairs goes from Međustanica (Intermediate stop) towards the peak of Bjelašnica, and the capacity is 500-600 skiers in one working hour. With its trails, Bjelašnica is made for families and attractive to various profiles of skiers – excellent ones, as well as those less skilled, and beginners. Thanks to the floodlights, skiers can also enjoy night skiing on a completely lit trail of a moderate slope, 750 metres in length. S nama u avanturu
HOW TO GET THERE Bjelašnica can be reached by a well-maintained road from the direction of the airport, behind which, five kilometres down, a large sign directs you to a right turn. Here, you turn towards the ski resort, and after about a fifteen kilometre-drive, you arrive at an intersection, which gives you clear directions to Bjelašnica or Igman. You turn left and arrive to Babin Dol. The road on the right leads you to a large parking lot, and if you turn left, you will arrive to a spot full of apartments and hotels.
Bjelašnica is not just a gathering place for skiers, but also of those who are fans of long walks surrounded by fresh and clean air. People who enjoy the rays of sun while reading their favourite book are also not a rare sight, as you will see.

t has been 34 years since the Winter Olympic Games in B&H, in former Yugoslavia, took place, but people’s memories are still lingering on as if so much time has not gone by because it was so impressive that the essential features of the games can still be felt at the place where they were held – in Sarajevo
IT IS TIME FOR EYOF Large sport events have always built a positive image in people’s minds of cities that happened to organize them, but people would then flock to an event in large numbers because of the special

atmosphere and adrenaline, because you never know what might happen, who is going to have the best result and win one of the shiny medals. Sarajevo, the B&H capital, together with the neighboring city of East Sarajevo, has the opportunity to offer its citizens and guests an unforgettable event, and preparations for it are in full swing. It is EYOF, European Olympic Youth Festival, the first European multi-sport event open for young athletes between the ages of 14 and 18, whose winter and summer edition takes place every other year. Belonging to the European Olympic Committees (EOC), EYOF does not just take place under the Olympic flag, it is also rich with other Olympic traditions such as the burning flame and the Olympic oath. Over 1086 young athletes and 756 members of delegations, totaling at over 1800 participants, should be arriving at the European Youth Olympic Festival. This sport festival brings together young athletes from 50 European countries, teaches them the values referred to in the Olympic Charter, educates and motivates them to practise sport www.furaj.ba

and lead a healthy lifestyle. The winter edition of the European Olympic Youth Festival in Sarajevo and East Sarajevo, promoting the same noble principles, will take place from 9th to 16th February 2019, whereas Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, will host the festival’s summer edition. “We can say that the European Olympic Youth Festival is an event of national importance. All of us should be involved in this project. A lot of people will come for a visit, and quite a few media outlets will cover the event. We should all use it to bring attention to all the wonderful aspects of our country, its culture, history, tradition, art, culinary prowess, nature, particularly the facilities in the mountains that will be used during this sport event. I believe that our efforts will result in a positive story that the world will see and that our people will remember for a long time. Naturally, young people are the ones who’ll mostly benefit from it all, because EYOF brings together talented young athletes at the age when juniors are becoming seniors, which is extremely important in their future sports career,” said Abdulah Skaka, Mayor of Sarajevo.

N
ajbolja bh. košarkašica svih vremena, Razija Mujanović, s tuzlanskim Jedinstvom Aida je do početka devedesetih godina prošlog vijeka osvojila gotovo sve trofeje i nagrade. Košarkašku karijeru završila je prije deset godina, a danas vodi miran život u Sarajevu, uživajući u druženju s prijateljima i porodicom.
S nama u avanturu

Oni forsiraju djecu, više nego djeca sama sebe.
Vidite li u nekoj mladoj bh. košarkašici drugu Raziju?
- Putovanja i druženja.

INTERVIEW
Razija Mujanović
Member of
FIBA Hall of Fame
T
he best Bosnian and Herzegovinian basketball player of all time, Razija Mujanović, had won nearly all trophies and awards with Tuzlabased club Jedinstvo Aida by early 1990s. She ended her basketball career ten years ago, and now she leads a quiet life in Sarajevo, spending wonderful time with friends and family. At the end of September 2017, Razija was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame thus being honored, once again, as a basketball legend. Has anything in your life changed since the moment you were inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame? - By 2008, which is the year I ended my career as a basketball player, I had already won all there was to win. Based on the results I had, it was certain that I’d be inducted into the Hall of Fame at some point, it was just a matter of time. Nothing’s changed in my life since it happened. I think I should’ve been given my own rightful place in B&H sports even before I was inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame. What was the welcoming ceremony in Geneva like? - Even though I traveled quite a bit throughout my career and met a lot of basketball players, I did feel a certain level of anxiety and excitement about the welcoming ceremony. The organization of the ceremony was fantastic and everything was excellent.

INTERVJU
The best way to connect people is through sports What was it like to stand next to Shaquille O’Neal, Toni Kukoč, Mickey Berkowitz, Valdis Valters, Pero Cameron and Dušan Ivković? - When I started playing basketball, at the age of 14 I moved to Tuzla from a small place called Ratkovići. Moving to a city 50 kilometers away from my village was a big deal for me. Nobody had ever thought that I’d be so successful, and not to mention that I’d be inducted into the Hall of Fame. It was a huge honor and pleasure for me to be there with such famous players and to be the only woman among them. We all know just how great these basketball players and coaches are. Bosnians and Herzegovinians were thrilled about your success. How much does it mean to you to have so many people appreciate you so much? - I’m very happy that people support me. I had a feeling that others were happier about it than me. The audience always gave me additional
strength and an extra motive, even when I didn’t play so well. I played in foreign countries too, but wherever I went the audience wasn’t nearly as interested in women’s basketball as it was in Tuzla. When you won the European championship with Jedinstvo Aida from Tuzla in 1989, you were just 22. What memories come to mind when you think of that period? - I have really fond memories of Tuzla. Ever since I first got there to later times, I had a great coach, Mihajlo Vuković, who’d always give me hope. He always had some sort of plan for how my career should play out. When I was a kid, I’d look at him and sneer at what he would say, but then he’d tell me, “Razo, this is realistic. One day, you’ll remember my words.” It was only when I began to improve my game and win trophies that I realized what it was that my coach was saying. Your mother did not want you to move to Tuzla, but your father said yes. How motivating was it for you that your father believed in the talent you had in you? - My folks lived in the country, and at the time it was nearly impossible for a girl to leave home to make her way in the world. My father was a reasonable man and he realized that I was destined to play basketball because of my height and body type. I never wanted to disappoint my father who had the utmost confidence in me and who he gave me the go-ahead so I could leave home and try to make my way. What is the main difference between basketball back at the time when you were a player and now? - We had a much more serious approach to basketball. Personally, I never wanted to make money or become popular, I wanted to achieve

INTERVIEW results. I wore all types of clothes when I trained, but nowadays, players care a lot about the workout jersey, sneakers and the stuff they wear. Parents are also a big part of the problem. They force their kids to train more than the kids force themselves. What was the most important factor for your success? What advice would you give to young women basketball players? - Being talented or tall is not all that matters in basketball. You have to work a lot, have a strong character and the winner mindset. You always have come to practice on time, give your best and never let your team mate win. That’s the only way to become a great player. How much do you follow women’s basketball nowadays? Do you sometimes play for recreation? - I don’t follow it much. I think its low quality and at times I even get disappointed. I follow men’s basketball more because it’s more interesting than women’s basketball. When it comes to paying, I rarely play. I have some issues with my knees so I’m not allowed to exert myself much. When I take the ball, it’s really hard for me to leave the basketball court, and then it takes days for me to recover. Do you see another Razija in one of the young Bosnian-Herzegovinian women basketball players? - Marica Gajić is the best right now. She doesn’t have the height, but she’ll achieve great results for sure. There’s this girl too, Selma Kulo, who lives in the US. She’s tall enough and she’s really

talented, but unfortunately, our leaders in the basketball world aren’t looking for such talented players. This girl should definitely be included in our national basketball team. You ended your career ten years ago. What was the most rewarding experience of your basketball career? - Travelling and hanging out with people. That’s something you cherish for the rest of your life. I stopped playing basketball, and now, many years later, when I meet my former teammates, we still have a common topic to talk about—sports. The best way to connect people is through sports. How do you spend your time? What do you do to relax? - Now I follow the things I’m interested in that I couldn’t follow during my career for lack of time. During the past year, I’ve dedicated myself to promoting basketball. I visit schools in small towns and talk to kids. I want them to know what the real values are and to have role models so that they could choose sports. They can’t all be excellent, but it’s important for kids not to go down the wrong path. When it comes to relaxation, there are several ways for me to relax. It relaxes me even when I meet up with friends over a cup of coffee. There was once a time when I was always in a rush to train, to run errands and stuff, but now I’m really enjoying myself. I gave myself some free time so I finally don’t have to keep track of time.

E
Muzej posjeduje i zbirku umjetnina velike vrijednosti, slika i skulptura poznatih autora.

NACIONALNI SPOMENIK Komisija za očuvanje nacionalnih spomenika Bosne i Hercegovine proglasila je staru solanu Kreka, Muzej soli s pokretnim naslijeđem, kompleks solnih bunara s pumpnom stanicom i solni bunar iz osmanskog perioda, nacionalnim spomenikom BiH. Time je odato priznanje proizvodnji soli u Tuzli.
National Monument
Salt Museum in Tuzla The purpose of the museum is to preserve the tradition of extracting salt from water and to keep the memory of our industrial heritage alive Salt water has been exploited and salt has been produced in Tuzla from the Neolithic era to this day. Archeological evidence dating back five to six thousand years proves the existence of a Neolithic settlement in the center of Tuzla. The name Soli was first mentioned in historic documents in 1225 as a large parish or the land of Soli (salt). From ancient times to this day the area in the vicinity of Tuzla has been named after its most important natural resource—salt. With a 133-year long tradition of industrial salt production, Tuzla Salt Factory is one of the oldest companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the oldest company in food production business in B&H. Since ancient times, salt production has been based on the closed circuit principle which ensures absolute protection against potential external factors and pollutants. In processing salt water simple tools used to be used: a frying pan, a three-legged stool, a hand stirrer, a bucket and a keg. They were wooden because since it is resistant to corrosion. S nama u avanturu
According to the information recorded in Ottoman records towards the end of the Ottoman rule in B&H, 467 thousand oka, which is a Turkish unit of weight, of salt was produced in Tuzla per year. INDUSTRIAL HERITAGE
NATIONAL MONUMENT
You can understood the entire production process by visiting the Salt Museum located in the Tuzla Salt Factory complex. Salt Museum was opened in 1975 as a part of the factory—an old production plant was shut down to open the museum. The last three old pots used to boil salt water were shut down at the time, and the production plant was turned into a museum.
The Commission for Protection of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina has designated the old Kreka salt factory, the Salt Museum along with movable heritage, the salt wells complex with a pump station and a salt well from the Ottoman era, as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In doing so, it honored salt production in Tuzla. This Museum, just like many other museums throughout B&H, is a part of Tuzla’s and Bosnia and Herzegovina’s contribution to the world and European cultural and civilizational heritage.
The purpose of the museum is to preserve the tradition of extracting salt from water and keep the memory of our industrial heritage alive and the memory of the way salt had been extracted back in the Neolithic period, and to preserve such a facility and transform it into a museum. That is why it is of great value not just to Tuzla but for B&H in general, because Salt Museum is the place where you can understand the overall historical development cycles of one of the oldest cities in the Balkans. Exhibits on display at the Museum are arranged in such a way to tell the story of how salt was produced and which traditional tools were used in salt factories in different periods of history following the developments in salt production through time, from the Neolithic era to Socialist Yugoslavia, as well as to show written documents and images throughout these eras. The Museum also houses a large collection of highly valuable pieces of art, paintings and sculptures created by renowned artists.

Oldest exhibit The oldest exhibit of the Salt Museum is a Neolithic frying pan which was used to boil water to remove salt from it. The Museum has a replica of such a frying pan, but it is made of the original fragments dating back to the Neolithic era. There is also an original frying pan which was used to boil water to remove salt from it dating back to the Ottoman era. The oldest written document at display is the 1189 trade agreement between Bosnian sovereign, Kulin Ban, and Dubrovnik treating salt monopoly.

Ideje su poslije toga same dolazile, a s njima i kilometri dobre zabave.

- Nije bilo nijednog kvara do Korčule i nazad.

World adventures

Car Fića
T
he cult Fiat 750 is a car that set former Yugoslavia into motion, and today only rare fans of these oldtimers cruise our streets in them, mostly just for short trips. Amar Ćamo from Goražde, who currently lives in Australia, tirelessly moves across the streets of the world and attracts attention with his green Fića. His adventures can be followed on Instagram profile #ficacrew. - The idea for Fića crew came very spontaneously, when we were traveling through Italy two years ago. Until then, we didn’t have an official name, but we were still a crew. Considering how appealing Fića and the crew were, we attracted the attention of many passers-by. We started using #ficacrew as our brand on Instagram, and in Zagreb we created a sticker and put it on the rear window, so that people could follow our adventures or send us their photographs. After that, ideas would just come to us on their own, and with them also kilometers of good fun.

LOVE FOR OLDTIMERS Amar’s love for oldtimers spans from his childhood, when he would run around the car that his father was preparing to paint in the garage, which means that he did not have any option but to have that love for it throughout his life. The green Fića arrived from Čajniče, and at that time it was not drivable. The first more serious trip by the Fića crew with this cult car was from Goražde towards Korčula, and Amar says that it was the most successful trip. - It didn’t break down at all from Korčula and back. That’s when I realized for the first time that I was sharing joy with the world while moving with this little “fig”. After that trip, we traveled across B&H, Montenegro, Italy, Slovenia, Austria, Croatia, Albania, Macedonia, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Serbia, Kosovo, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Spain, France, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Germany... We’ve been on the Etna, Vesuvius, Alps, Sierra

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA Nevada and we touched the Sahara! My courageous, smart and savvy friends come with me on these trips! If you were to look at photographs from Amar’s trip, you would think that each detail was carefully planned and organized, but it wasn’t. They mostly use the internet, recommendations from locals, and of course their intuition. - The best stories happen to us when we take an unplanned turn. We leave everything else to chance. We have an approximate plan of the trip and location where we’d like to end up, but on our last trip we estimated that the length of the trip would be 2000 km, and we ended up on an 8000-km trip.
FAVORITE TRIP Old cars bring back memories of past times, so Fića crew finds the positive reactions that they get an even greater reason to enjoy their trips in the Fića. - It’s indescribable, it makes us really happy during our trips! There is a difference between countries and reactions and that’s very interesting . While in Tunisia they would stop us and ask us to drink tea with them, in France we just got a few looks here and there.
My courageous, smart and savvy friends come with me on these trips For Amar, each day on a trip has its own story, charm and experience. Even though it is hard for him to single out a favorite trip, he went with the one to Algeria. - My favorite moments were when we arrived in Algeria, and we’d been listening for months about what a dangerous country it was and how we should be careful. When we crossed the border, people gave us bean stew that their wives had made for them to eat on their night shift. They took photographs with the car, laughed and followed us on Instagram and sent us their photographs. All these events take place with very little conversation because of language, but we all understand each other, and impressions are easily painted in our memories. Amar has been living in Australia for 24 years, where he has been promoting the beauty of B&H and his birthplace Goražde with his brother Nezir. - I love traveling around B&H and sharing the beauties that we have with friends, not just from Australia, but from all over the world. Even people who live in B&H contact us on Instagram to tell us that they didn’t know of some of the locations that we’d visited. All those things make me very happy.

Anur Burnazović Najbolji strijelac slovačke rukometne lige
A
treninzima
i
utakmicama.

BOSNA I HERCEGOVINA
The Best Shooter in the Slovak Handball League MOTIVATION TO WORK HARD Amar says that the four-year period he spent playing for Handball Club Bosnia is the most wonderful period of his life.
A
nur Burnazović was born in Sarajevo in 1994, and he started to play handball when he was a child. Handball led him from Sarajevo through Czechia to Slovakia and allowed him a lot of wonderful experiences, and his perseverance and hard work have paid off. Right now, he is the best shooter in the Slovak handball league. - I began to train handball when I was 12 years old, and at the time it was one of the most important sports in Sarajevo as I was in the Champions League. I would always watch handball in the packed-full Skenderija sports hall, and my early days in handball were stimulated by good results in the games I watched. I watched handball players and began to wish to play at the handball court too, so I joined Handball Club Bosnia. Before handball, I played football and wanted to become a goalkeeper, so I began as a goalkeeper in the handball club. I’m quite thankful to my coach at the time who saw potential in me and let me play.
110
- I’ll always remember growing up with my friends – we’ve become friends for life. Everyday training sessions and hard work have paid off—I received an invitation to play for the first team. I was in second grade of secondary school and I remember I hadn’t had any sleep before that training session. I used to watch those guys play on TV, and then I got an opportunity to train handball with them. That was an unforgettable experience for Anur, but it did not take long before the first problem came up, and the first serious injury. Handball Club Bosnia started getting into financial troubles, the best players were leaving, and then the coach left too. Players tried to find their way for a few years, they joined new teams and change the terms of their contacts. That is when Anur played in a game in the regional league and this motivated him to keep working hard. A turning point happened when he was loaned out to a local club called Željezničar, where all the good players, who used to play against each other, gathered together to play. Anur was also give more opportunity to play in the national B&H team, and within six months he became one of the playmakers.

BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
- After a great half-season, a Czech club became very interested in me. I went for a trial game and that was the first time I came across a different team, language and a different understanding of handball. I played well and I signed a contract. I spent two and a half years there and this experience was really good for my career, and my coming of age. The first three-four months were really difficult; I was the only foreigner—someone from the Balkans, until Nikola Sekulić came. He’s now one of my best friends. After he joined the team, everything became easier. Two and a half years later, Anur felt the need to change the club, but he did not want to leave the environment where he had already settled in. He got a call from the Slovakian
COMING HOME - I don’t have much free time, but I use every opportunity I get to come home. When I do come, I never sleep; instead, I have my own special ritual. First I go for a cup of coffee at Čaršija, then I go to Kamarija. My favorite cake shop is in the Bare neighborhood. I go there to eat my aunt’s cream cake, my favorite cake… It’s great to be home.

club Malacky, and made a step forward in his career. He discovered that he had other qualities expcept those of a playmaker. After eight excellent rounds, he was honored as the best shooter in the Slovak handball league. This means that he has more responsibility, but it also makes him train and improve his game further.
FREE TIME Anur got used to living in Slovakia quite quickly, because Slovaks are, he says, much more relaxed than the Czechs, and their mentality is similar to Bosnians. - Cafés are always full, and this type of lifestyle works for me; coffee before, after and in between training sessions, just like in Sarajevo (laughs). I managed to fit in really quickly. Slovaks have accepted me and I’m thankful for it. I learn languages quickly so I never had problems communicating with people. Now, I’ve also got a lot of friends outside the world of handball. Anur’s day starts very early, everything is adjusted to his everyday training sessions and games. In his free time, he likes to cook, hang out with friends and spend time in nature.

Usluge u Dental Office-u Kao specijalista parodontolog, dr. Mersiha prije svega ima odgovornost da pacijentu sačuva zube i regeneriše izgubljeno parodontalno tkivo, a u slučajevima kada prezervacija denticije nije moguća zbog uznapredovale bolesti, cilj je pacijentu vratiti funkciju i estetiku s dentalnim implantatima.
BEZBOLNE INTERVENCIJE Prvi kontakt s pacijentom u Dental Office-u počinje pravljenjem rendgen snimka, a u ovoj ordinaciji rendgen uređaji su digitalni aparati zadnje generacije s veoma malom dozom zračenja pacijenta.

HEALTH
Periodontal Disease Inflamed, swollen, bleeding gums and bad breath are a definite sign of a periodontal infection, which can lead to serious complications of oral and overall health. Periodontal disease is the main cause of tooth loss and can be seen as a risk factor for chronic diseases, such as diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Mersiha and her team of experts work based on the doctrine of Harvard University and AAP, which means that periodontal diseases can be treated, slowed down or completely stopped at Dental Office. The American protocol of treatment, unlike the one that is in practice in our region and wider, is proactive with the goal of treating inflammation and focusing on regeneration or tissue repair, i.e. bone tissue, as well as gum tissue. As a periodontal specialist, Dr. Mersiha is primarily responsible for saving a patient’s teeth and regenerating lost periodontal tissue, and in cases when the preservation of dentitions is not possible due to the disease being too advanced, the goal is to bring back function and aesthetics for the patient with dental implants.
PAINLESS INTERVENTIONS The first contact with a patient at Dental Office starts with an X-ray, and at this office X-ray devices are digital machines of the last generation with a very small amount of radiation for the patient. This
is complete with a studious clinical check-up, when the team of experts defines the therapy plan for a smile that is not just beautiful, but also long-lasting. Many patients at Dental Office are witness to interventions, such as: painless installation of top- quality dental implants, bone regeneration in situations when it is necessary, sinus lift, clinical crown lengthening, transplantation of tissue from the palate in cases of receding gums, mechanical endodontic treatment and successful treatment of complicated cases with narrow, obstructed and curved canals, aesthetic restauration and the most modern prosthetic procedures. All interventions are microsurgical with minimal or insignificant postoperative discomfort and they are all performed under local anesthetic and are completely painless. The team of experts led by doctor Mersiha AvdićSaračević will use their knowledge and specific approach to explain about periodontal disease to the patient, and find the best, most adequate therapy for their specific problem, all the while using the most modern technology and biological/dental material which follows world trends.
