THESIS PROJECT

Likewise, it seeks to complement the educational system by granting a space for research that has not yet existed. The final project consists of the architectural proposal grounded from the previous analysis of justified needs, the appropriate relationship with the context, and the formal explorations that were evaluated from the concept and the review of references, as well as the proposals for programmatic spatial ordering.

BIRTH OF SPACE: CAPSULE AND FRAGMENTS OF A HOUSE LOCATION: Chimbote, Ancash, Peru

CLASS: Architecture Studio IX TERM: 2020-2, 9th semester TYPE: Academic project, individual

In this activity, it is investigated how a device can be designed that serves to be inhabited, and that has the ability to transform, adapt and that the user can appropriate it. For me, it was difficult at the beginning to include all these qualities in a single intention without neglecting the functionality of the space and the activities proposed within, which in my case, revolved around rest. After changing the initial idea that included many large moving parts, I was able to consolidate in much more minimal and precise

001 2

movements, the activity options within, taking into account the movement of the body and taking advantage of the same capsule as a delimited space and the furniture they merged into a single element. Finally, it seemed to me an exercise that provided a solid base to continue my journey to a home, because thinking about a capsule and everything that I applied to solve it, I can apply similar criteria for the rest of the spaces that would solve the whole house in the future.

Caracteristics and purpose

Lighting throughout the day

The project proposes a reinvention of a need so basic but so little attended, rest. The rest positions and comfort they represent for different activities included within the rest spectrum are explored from the anthropological and ergonomicpoint of view, and are integrated into the capsule as part of its same shape and arrangement, achieving the goal of rest. anywhere in it.

36º

This makes the refuge a flexible and timeless place, which, depending on the needs of the user, offers a variety of resting points, be it a light one while working, one where you lie down, and even one where you can sleep without problems. In the current situation, thinking about rest has blurred boundaries with the rest of daily activities, due to the restriction of going out into outer space. This, in my personal experience, compromises my ability to rest properly, and it is for this very reason that I was inspired by the lack of attention to this

priority of everyday life, perhaps neglected due to its passivity, but ultimately so important. to effectively carry out the rest of the activities. Inactivity for long periods of time can be uncomfortable, and the relief you aim to achieve can be jeopardized. Taking into account what I really need to rest in the day, the measurements, the angles, and the position of the furniture, made me rethink my priorities, often neglected, and inspired me to create a place where my rest is not get interfered with by worrying about constantly getting it. Rest should not only be physical, but also mental. Thus, more than a place, I have decided to call it a refuge, because that is what a person should feel when they want to take a break: I welcome, shelter, and the tranquility of being in a space where they can close their eyes, lower their guard, and just rest.

INDUSTRIAL AREAS OF LIMA

URBANISM SEMINAR

LOCATION: Lima, Peru

CLASS: Urbanism Seminar TERM: 2020-2, 9th semester TYPE: Academic project, group

It was chosen to analyze the industrial estate that forms along Av. Argentina for its centrality with respect to Lima. This centrality not only lies in its position in Lima Downtown but also in the connection it provides between two historic centers of La Punta, in Callao and Downtown Lima. The industry that currently sits along this avenue has large lots,

many of them destined for storage. Its strategic position made it one of the first industrial hubs to develop. However, its connection with Callao may currently present greater opportunities than being used for industrial land, perhaps being enabled for citizens and tourists.

BEFORE ISOMETRIC GRAPH OF EXISTING GRAIN

AFTER ISOMETRIC GRAPH OF THE PROPOSED GRAIN

The existing urban grain featured large blocks, discontinuous streets, and even single-lot blocks allowed with blind walls.

On the other hand, the proposed grain is modulated around blocks classified into 2 types: A, B C, the largest being 3.2 Hectares.

Existing roads, with the exception of Av Argentina, had a small section, less than 20 m, representing 21% of the gross area, while the built, in this case industry, occupied 79%.

It seeks uniformity and control over the dimensions of the blocks, the continuity of the roads, achieving an area of roads that represents 35% of the gross area, while the built, 65%.

CONNECT-UR: 2 DE MAYO PLAZA REINVENTION LOCATION: Lima, Peru

CLASS: Architecture Studio VII TERM: 2019-2, 7th semester TYPE: Academic project, individual

ARCHITECTURE STUDIO A network of streets on different levels is proposed under the concept "connect to activate". In this, it is proposed to unite the pedestrian flow with the Plaza 2 de Mayo so that it has greater accessibility. In the area, the use of land destined for music predominates, whether they are workshops or the sale of instruments: of a musical nature. In order to increase accessibility to the square, it was decided to increase the width of the sidewalks of the streets, as well as the sidewalks near the oval and pedestrianize streets with low vehicular traffic that will end in squares that will have a program for children, youth and older adults as well as for people with disabilities. This first level has commerce.

Bridges will be added on a second level forming the musical route in which, in addition to the local user being present, it is proposed to add the visitor through a musical experience. The upper level of certain lots will feature cultural-musical workshops. On the second level there will be rooms with sound waves, this will be a musical journey in which all types of users can be part of an inclusive experience, such as deaf people through vibrations. These bridges are made of metallic structure, due to their lightness and structural resistance, they will be anchored towards abandoned private lots to avoid damaging the monumental buildings. In addition, the bridges will be covered with expanded mesh so as not to obstruct the views towards the square.

Proposal for the plaza Plaza 2 de mayo, Lima In the connection between the square and the block, the route of cars continues but with the necessary measures to protect and favor the pedestrian. With a change of floor, spring breakers and bollards, the square and the sidewalk unite without problem, reducing the speed of the car in the area but maintaining the continuity of vehicular traffic without harming the proposal for a safe pedestrian network that is set up throughout the place.

It is the milestone of the project that marks the intention to connect the square with the surroundings, including what is proposed and what exists. It generates a flattering elevated view to appreciate the monument and, with the design of its latticework, it represents a door and entrance that alludes to the history of the square.

CLASS: W.A.Ve 2020 (Workshop di Architettura Venezia), Universitá IUAV di Venezia PROFESSORS: Giancarlo Mazzanti + CLAB Architettura TERM: July 2020 TYPE: International student project, group

Fun-daco was born as a proposal to bring together inhabitants, tourists and passers-by within the historic city of Venice. By bringing life experiences back to the center, the tourist manages to discover a new Venice, far from the massively frequented places. Crosswords are created from stories in order to keep experiences alive and establish new interactions through play. The contribution given by tourists to the population can

also be compared to this sharing of knowledge. In the same way, he will contribute to the creation of new crosswords, a sign of his passage in the lagoon city. The neighborhood, the inhabitants and the tourists are actively questioned about their experiences and ideas. This involvement makes it possible to rediscover and establish human bonds, the basis for the suppression of Venice.

SCOPRIRE INTEGRARE

The choice of Venice as a project location represents our virtual union, not only as a W.A.Ve, but also as a training center. Venice, in fact, is for us an essential component of our cultural and human growth. Campo dei Tolentini, in particular, is a place where each of us has lived experiences and met new people. At the same time, however, it is a place that we have been deprived of and we try to reclaim. Based on this pretense, our reflection is part of the experience of relationships in order to be able to encourage the social interactions of the community.

PRE- PROJECT: STORYBOARD

Venice has long been confronted with flows of tourists. On the one hand, unsustainable tourism guarantees the survival of the inhabitants, but on the other, it destroys the city. Our reflection aims to integrate visitors within Venice in order to be able to propose a new tourist. Furthermore, thanks to greater interaction and integration, local citizens will also be able to expand their knowledge.

Campo dei Tolentini is located in a particular position: in front of the Renaissance Tolentini Church and a few steps from the important "Tolentini" seat of the Iuav University. Furthermore, by analyzing the points of interest present within 500 meters (= 5 minutes on foot), we also add the Iuav headquarters in "Campo della Lana" and two of the main access points to the island: the S. Lucia and Piazzale Roma, the final point of arrival for trams and buses. The rest of the area is characterized by the typical Venetian organization: ground floor Venetian trade-organization:commercial ground floor and upper floors used for residential or tourism purposes.
