s another year comes to an end, most of us are looking forward to that free meal provided by our employer. This is a time when we get to relax with our fellow co-workers and be on equal ground with everyone. That one dinner really gives us some valuable insight on how our boss feels about us. Where and what we eat tells us a lot. Let’s say the Christmas Party is going to take place at the office. This will save time because it can begin right after work and get everyone home earlier. Another idea to save time is start cooking the hotdogs in a crockpot around 2 o’clock. If you get them started right at 2 o’clock, they will be ready to go at 5 o’clock. The Christmas Party literally becomes like clockwork. Once you clock out of your job at 5 o’clock, you can head to the break room where the hotdogs are ready to eat. It is as simple as grabbing a bun, throwing some chips on your Dixie plate and “getting your eat on”. Since everything is happening so quickly you probably do not want to slow things down with something like Secret Santa. Yes, you are going to be home quick because this is not going to take long at all. If the above scenario is familiar, it might be safe to say the company just didn’t have a good year. I know this has to be the case because your boss would reward you with an awesome Christmas Party if the company just had a better year. You spend all of your time at work, and you give it all for the company. Yeah, it must have just been a bad year. Next year you will get this thing turned around. When you have that record year, I know exactly what your Christmas Party will be like. The boss will send out a Christmas Party invitation for you and a significant other. This party is going to be somewhere nice, and it will not be like last year when you had to stand and eat that hotdog. You are actually going to sit down at a table and be waited on. Plus, everyone will be receiving gifts from their Secret Santa. The boss will take time during the party to thank you personally for all you do, and you will in return tell him how thankful you are to be part of the team. You will look down at your watch and realize the evening has flown by. Now, this is the Christmas Party you had dreamed about. No boss wants to be the hotdogs-in-the-crockpot boss. Now that you are ready to turn over a new leaf, you will have several choices here in Gallup to spoil your employees. You will be able to find places that serve a variety of flavors. On the next two pages are suggestions for places to have a party to get you in the mood!
