An den hervorragenden, gehaltvollen Rotwein Amarone dürften Weinliebhaber beim Namen Valpolicella sofort denken. Er hat das hügelig-bergige Valpolicella-Gebiet weltweit berühmt gemacht und ist auch das Herzstück der von der Azienda Agricola Scriani in Fumane produzierten Weine. Das moderne Weingut wird von der Familie Cottini geführt, die auf eine lange Weinbautradition zurückblicken kann. Geschäftsführer ist der junge Stefano Cottini, der von seiner Frau, seinem Vater Silvano sowie von „Nonno“ Pio unterstützt wird. So verbinden sich hier aktuellstes Wissen und Kenntnis der neusten Technologien mit traditionellen Werten und langjähriger Erfahrung.

Das 9 Hektar große Anbaugebiet der Cottinis liegt überwiegend auf zwei malerischen Hügeln, von denen man über die Valpolicella bis nach Verona und auf den Gardasee blicken kann. Die Reben werden in traditioneller Veroneser Pergola-Methode angebaut. Geerntet wird auf dem Weingut Scriani ausschließlich von Hand. Die Weinlese für die verschiedenen Weine findet zu unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten statt. So werden die Trauben für den Amarone – genau wie für den Recioto – erst Ende September gelesen. Anschließend werden sie 100 bis 120 Tage in kleinen Holzfächern gelagert, nach dem Keltern 18 Monate in Barrique- und 8 Monate und großen Eichenfässern gereift und anschließend für weitere 6 Monate in Flaschen gelagert.

Neben Amarone und Recioto produziert die Azienda Agricola Scriana auch Valpolicella Classico, Superiore, Ripasso sowie den so genannte Carpanè. Alle Weine können direkt auf dem Weingut probiert und erworben werden.

With the name Valpolicella wine lovers should immediately associate the Amarone, the excellent, full-bodied red wine. It has turned famous worldwide the hilly region of Valpolicella and is the centerpiece of the wines produced by the Azienda Agricola Scriani in Fumane. The modern winery is run by the family Cottini, who can look back on a long winemaking tradition. The young manager Stefano Cottini is assisted by his wife, his father Silvano and by “Nonno “Pio. And this is how traditional values and long-term experience are connected with the knowledge of the latest technologies.

The 9-acre large area is mainly situated on two picturesque hills. From here you have a nice view over the Valpolicella as far as Verona and Lake Garda. The vines are grown in traditional Veronese pergola way. At the winery Scriani grapes are gathered exclusively by hand. The harvest for the production of the different wines takes place at different times. Thus, the grapes for the Amarone - exactly as for the Recioto – are harvested at the end of September and stored for 100-120 days in wooden trays. After the pressing, the wine must mature for 18 months in barrique barrels and for further 8 months in large oak barrels. The wine is finally stored for 6 months in bottles.

In addition to the Amarone and the Recioto the Azienda Agricola Scriana produces also Valpolicella Classico, Superiore, Ripasso and the so-called Carpanè.

All wines can be tasted and purchased directly in the winery.

Was wäre der Gardasee-Sommer ohne Feuerwerke? Doch zum Glück werden auch dieses Jahr im August und September rund um den See wieder etliche Dorf, Volks- und Gästefest gefeiert. Ob zu Ehren des örtlichen Schutzpatrons, der Urlauber oder einer lokalen kulinarischen Spezialität – ausgelassene Stimmung ist garantiert. Und zum Abschluss gibt es in der Regel ein knallig buntes, pompöses Feuerwerk, das in der malerischen Kulisse des Sees einen unvergesslichen Anblick bietet. The museum Nicolis in Villafranca di Verona is interesting for all ages.

Here is presented the development of cars, technology and mechanics of the last 200 years. Founded with great passion by the Veronese Luciano Nicolis, the museum s is a real treasure chest, full of culture and ideas. Thanks to hundreds of cars, motorcycles and bicycles, the museum tells the interesting story of the means of transportation. A collection of aircrafts, engines, cameras, typewriters, musical instruments and precious curiosities complements the impressive collection.

The museum is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10 to 18 o’clock. The entrance costs 10, reduced 8 Euro. Children from 6 to 10 years pay 4 Euro.

An audio guide is also included in the ticket price.

Interessant für Groß und Klein ist das Museum Nicolis in Villafranca di Verona, in dem die Entwicklung von Autos, Technik und Mechanik in den letzten 200 Jahren präsentiert wird. Vom veroneser Luciano Nicolis mit großer Leidenschaft ins Leben gerufen, ist das Museo Nicolis eine wahre Schatztruhe voller Kultur und Ideen. Anhand von Hunderten von Autos, Motorrädern und Fahrrädern erzählt das Museum die interessante Geschichte der Fortbewegungsmittel. Eine Kollektion von Flugzeugen, Motoren, Fotokameras, Schreibmaschinen, Musikinstrumenten und kostbaren Kuriositäten ergänzt die stattliche Sammlung.

Das „extravergine“ Olivenöl ist in jeder Hinsicht als ein “functional food” zu bezeichnen, ein funktionelles Lebensmittel, das weit über ein klassisches, nahrhaftes Lebensmittel hinausgeht.

Diese Ölsorten verfügen über zahlreiche Eigenschaften.

Sie besitzen funktionelle Eigenschaften, weil aufgrund der eigenen Komponenten verschiedene biologische Funktionen unseres Organismus, wie zum Beispiel die Energie- und Reservezufuhr in Gang gesetzt werden.

Sie sind nahrhaft, weil die Zusammensetzung von Olivenöl sehr ähnlich aufgebaut ist wie die Zusammensetzung des menschlichen Fettes und damit erklärt werden kann, warum der Organismus dazu im Stande ist dieses Lebensmittel mit extremer Leichtigkeit aufzunehmen. Weiters handelt es sich um einen guten Schutz für die Arterien, da es den freien Radikalen vorbeugen kann.

Sie verfügen über organoleptische Eigenschaften, weil es sich um Öle handelt, die kalt extrahiert werden und somit die Farbe, den Geruch und den Geschmack beibehalten und den Speisen noch mehr Geschmack und vor allem Schmackhaftigkeit schenken.

In der Ölmühle Manestrini wird jeden Dienstagabend (um 17.30 Uhr) ein “Aperitif in der Ölmühle” mit einer Verkostung der typischen Produkte, organisiert, dort werden das „extravergine“ Olivenöl, das Olivenöl Garda Dop, das Olivenöl „Monocultivar“ (nur eine Sorte) Casaliva und eine Vielfalt von Valténesi - Weinen zum Preis von 5 Euro pro Person angeboten.

An der Spitze des Hügels inmitten des Olivenhains der Ölmühle Manestrini befindet sich die bezaubernde Residence San Rocco. Der Beherbergungsbetrieb verfügt außer den Zimmern für Ihren Urlaub auch über ein Restaurant, das seinen Gästen eine unvergessliche Sicht auf den See bietet. Dabei handelt es sich um einen idealen Ort, an dem man entspannende Momente verbringen und gleichzeitig auch typische Speisen der lokalen Küche genießen kann.

Das Restaurant ist jeden Abend außer Montag mit Fischspezialitäten aus dem See und typischen, italienischen Gerichten, die allesamt mit den Produkten, die aus der Ölmühle stammen, vorbereitet werden.

They have functional properties, because of their own components they are able to set in motion different biological functions of our organism, for example energy supply and reserve.

They are nutritious, because the composition of olive oil is similar to human fat and therefore it is possible to explain why our organism is able to assimilate this food in a very easy way. Olive oil is also a gift and a good protection for our arteries, because it is able to prevent free radicals.

They have organoleptic characteristics, because we are talking about olive oil types, that are cold extracted and therefore they are able to maintain color, smell and taste and will give more taste and in particular more palatability to the food.

Inside the oil mill Manestrini every Tuesday evening (at 05.30 pm) an “aperitif in the oil mill” is organized with a tasting event of the typical products, you can taste the “extravergine” olive oil, the Garda Dop olive oil, the “Monocultivar” (only one kind) Casaliva olive oil and lots of different Valténesi wines, price 5 Euro per person.

At the top of the hill in the centre of the olive grove of the oil mill Manestrini you can find the

magic Residence San Rocco. This tourist accommodation offers hotel rooms for your vacation and has also a restaurant with an unforgettable view over the lake. An ideal place for relaxing moments combined with typical food deriving from the local cuisine.

The restaurant is opened every evening (except on Monday) and offers fresh fish specialties from the lake and typical Italian dishes, all of them prepared with the products deriving from the oil mill.

Who will decide for a dinner on Tuesday evening company Manestrini will offer the typical olive oil and wine tasting event for free, you can take part in the “aperitif in the oil mill”!

Festival Franciacorta im Weinkeller

Die Weinkeller von Franciacorta heißen Sie im Herbst mit einem Wochenende voll mit Weinverkostungen willkommen, aber das ist noch lange nicht alles, das Festival ist sowohl Weinliebhabern als auch neugierigen Touristen gewidmet. Sie können sich gleich diese Kultdaten des Monats September am Kalender notieren: das Festival Franciacorta im Weinkeller wird am letzten Septemberwochenende, am 28.09. und am 29.09. stattfinden.

In der Tat werden am 28. September und am 29. September die Türen für die „Weintouristen“ unter Ihnen geöffnet, mit dem gemeinsamen Zweck diese auf den richtigen Weg der Entdeckung der Made in Italy - Weine zu begleiten: Aus dem Gebiet Franciacorta. Es besteht die Möglichkeit auch die wunderbarsten Ecken des Gebietes Franciacorta sowie dessen Geschichte und antiksten Traditionen kennenzulernen, die sich nicht ausschlie�lich auf den Wein beziehen. Für ein originelles Wochenende außer Haus werden die Weinkeller des Gebietes ein reichhaltiges Ereignis mit zahlreichen Initiativen organisieren um endlich die verschiedensten Geschmäcker und Gaumen zufriedenstellen zu können.

Franciacorta und die GESCHMÄCKER - Dabei handelt es sich um den Leitfaden des Festivals im Weinkeller 2013. Viele Unternehmen werden Führungen mit Weinverkostungen der unterschiedlichsten Typologien, die im Franciacorta - Gebiet produziert werden, zusammen mit Gerichten und typischen Produkten aus dem Territorium organisieren, aber nicht nur, die Gerichte werden zusammen mit dem am besten kombinierbaren Wein serviert.

Franciacorta und die KUNST - Sogar Kunstliebhaber werden Interesse an Franciacorta haben. Durch einzelne Ausstellungen wird dargestellt wie die

Please note these dates at the end of September in your calendar: Franciacorta - Festival in the wine cellar organized for the last weekend of September, on the 28th and on the 29th of September.

On the 28th and on the 29th of September doors will be opened for “wine tourists” in order to help them to explore the most famous Made in Italy - wines: Produced in the Franciacorta area.

You can learn more about the Franciacorta area, its history and you can also learn about the oldest traditions of this special territory not only referred to the different wine types. An original weekend away from home, the wine cellars of the Franciacorta area will organize lots of different initiatives to be able to satisfy all tastes and even the most demanding palates.

Franciacorta and TASTES - This is the guiding line of the festival in the wine cellar regarding the year 2013. Lots of wine companies will organize guided tours with wine tasting events including all possible different wine types that are produced in the Franciacorta area, last but not least - wines will be accompanied by dishes and typical local products deriving from and produced in this area, wine and dishes will be combined in the best possible way.

Das Remat - Fest In Torbole im Park der Ex-Colonia Pavese findet von 10. bis zum 15. August das Remat - Fest statt, was soviel bedeutet wie „verrücktes Netz“, ein Netz übergroßer Dimension. In der Tat handelt es sich um ein Fischernetz für den Sardinenfang, das 400 Meter lang und 35 Meter breit ist und als „königliches“ Netz bezeichnet wurde. Dieses Museum ist entstanden um das Vorhandensein eines Produktionssystems zu beweisen, das für mehr als ein Jahrtausend die ländliche Bevölkerung des Mittelmeerraums betroffen hatte. Man kann zum Beispiel eine imposante Presse mit Hebel aus Eichenholz und eine Ölmühle, die über ein Rad mit Hilfe der Zugkraft des Wassers angetrieben wird (funktioniert noch heute perfekt) sowie andere originale Exemplare von Pressen aus Holz und Eisen bewundern. September wird in Bardolino dieses berühmte Fest stattfinden, dessen Ursprünge auf die erste Hälfte des letzten Jahrhunderts zurückgehen, als die Leute fast ausschlie�lich als Bauern tätig waren und um gegen den Hunger ankämpfen zu können gab es außer der Landwirtschaft auch die Jagd und die Fischerei. So entstanden damals diese Vogelmessen. Und genau in der damaligen Zeitspanne, als die Fürsten Eigentümer der Grundstücke waren, behielten sie sich die Jagd des Wildes bei und gaben dem Volk die Befugnis Vögel mit Hilfe von Netzen einzufangen und zu jagen, was diese ohnehin bereits taten um gegen den Hunger ankämpfen zu können.

Der Gardasee ist der größte See Italiens, der größte der Oberitalienischen Seen. Der Gardasee wurde durch den Etschgletscher in der vergangenen Eiszeit geformt, dessen Spuren man noch heute verfolgen kann. Zwischen den Alpen und der Poebene liegt der Gardasee im Norden in der Region Trentino-Südtirol, im Westen in der Lombardei, im Osten in Venetien. Damit teilen sich die drei Provinzen Trento (Norden), Verona (Osten) und Brescia (Westen) die Verwaltung. Während das nördliche Ufer des Sees von Zweitausendern der Gardaseeberge wie z.

B. dem Monte Baldo umsäumt ist, liegt das südliche Ufer bereits in der Ebene. Das Klima ist aufgrund der Lage sub-mediterran mit heißen Sommern und niederschlagsarmen, milden Wintern. Die Jahresdurchschnittstemperatur liegt zwischen 13 und 15° C. Lake Garda is the largest lake in Italy. Glaciers formed this alpine region at the end of the last ice age. The lake and its shoreline are divided between the provinces of Verona (southeast), Brescia (southwest), and Trento (north). Being easily accessible from the north via the Brenner Pass, the lake is a major tourist destination, including a number of exclusive hotels and resorts along its shore. The northern part of the lake is narrower, surrounded by mountains, the majority of which belong to the Mount Baldo chain. The shape is typical of a moraine valley, probably having been formed under the action of a Palaeolithic glacier. The climate is sub-Mediterranean with hot summers and low rainfall, mild winters.

The annual average temperature is 13-15° C.
