Nei gesti e nelle posture controllate di una ballerina siamo abituati a leggere l’armonia del corpo e la straordinaria capacità di trasfigurare lo sforzo fisico fino a farlo diventare bellezza. Ammirati da tutto ciò, ci concentriamo sulle tensioni del corpo senza immaginare che i suoi movimenti possano inscriversi in un più ampio quadro di riferimento come facessero parte di un ordine cui tutta la natura è partecipe. Raoul Iacometti ha avuto la bellissima intuizione che tutto ciò sia possibile, iniziando così un lavoro che è andato a scoprire la sintonia che lega i gesti umani della danza alla realtà che fiori e piante ci suggeriscono. La struttura a dittici permette di riconoscere con facilità analogie davvero sorprendenti: per un verso sembra che siano le foglie lanceolate a suggerire alla ballerina la postura delle sue gambe, per l’altro si può immaginare che la natura umana e quella vegetale vivano di un’identica partecipazione e vibrino nella identica sintonia. O forse è il fotografo ad aver agito da attento regista di questo inedito spettacolo.

Green Attitude nacque nella mia mente nell’autunno del 2008, mentre camminavo tra i corridoi di una serra in periferia di Milano. Passai un’intera giornata immerso nel verde, nel caldo artificiale di tende di plastica spessa e opaca e pareti di vetri appannati. Ero alla ricerca di qualche scatto adatto a completare un lavoro dal titolo “Di serra…”, esposto nei mesi successivi al Museo di Milano. La maggior parte delle fotografie scattate riguardavano inquadrature in close-up: mi avvicinai molto a piante e fiori seguendone le forme armoniose e dolci, simili a corpi In the gestures and controlled postures of a dancer, we are used to reading the harmony of the body and the extraordinary ability to transfigure physical effort until it becomes beauty. Admired by all this, we focus on the tensions of the body without imagining that its movements can be inscribed in a broader frame of reference as if they were part of an order in which all nature participates. Raoul Iacometti had the wonderful intuition that all this is possible, thus starting a work that went to discover the harmony that links the human gestures of dance to the reality that flowers and plants suggest to us. The diptych structure allows you to easily recognize truly surprising analogies: on the one hand it seems that the lanceolate leaves suggest to the dancer the posture of her legs, on the other it can be imagined that human and plant nature live on a identical participation and vibrate in identical harmony. Or perhaps it is the photographer who acted as the careful director of this unprecedented show.

Green Attitude was born in my mind in the autumn of 2008, while I was walking through the corridors of a greenhouse on the outskirts of Milan. I spent a whole day immersed in greenery, in the artificial heat of thick, opaque plastic curtains and fogged glass walls. I was looking for some suitable shots to complete a work entitled “Di serra…”, exhibited in the following months at the Milan Museum. Most of the photographs taken concerned close-up shots: I got very close to plants and flowers following their harmonious and sweet shapes, similar to bodies that posed without ever getting

che posavano senza mai stancarsi, immobili in quell’unica posizione, in perfetta simbiosi con l’ambiente circostante. Poi spostai l’attenzione sulle strutture in ferro, sui corridoi di bancali e sulle pareti trasparenti, ma in quel momento non sembravano avere alcun collegamento con il mondo floreale, se non quello di protezione. Fu allora che l’idea di accostare fiori, piante e strutture alla danza arrivò in maniera naturale. Al termine di quella giornata, dopo aver preso qualche appunto sulla mia agenda, abbandonai l’idea in attesa del momento giusto per realizzarla. Nel 2011, lavorando ad un reportage commissionato e dedicato ai corsi di danza classica e moderna a livello amatoriale finalmente “Green Attitude” prese forma e struttura. In questo progetto la danza si fonde in maniera naturale con le piante e i fiori, all’interno e all’esterno di location che cambiano ogni volta: serre e vivai, polmoni artificiali sparsi ovunque, oasi di un verde perenne che non conoscono stagioni. Il progetto è no profit e tuttora work in progress. Gli artisti che animano gli scatti fotografici sono Étoile, Prime/i Ballerine/i, Solisti e danzatrici e danzatori che lavorano nelle più importanti Compagnie di danza nazionali ed internazionali, quali Teatro alla Scala di Milano, Opéra National de Bordeaux ed altre ancora. Si alternano sui vari set dando forma ed armonia ai dittici fotografici. Le location che ci ospitano nei loro spazi sono di varie tipologie: dalle classiche serre di diverse specie floreali a quelle a specifico indirizzo tematico, fino alle più moderne caratterizzate da tecnologia fotovoltaica o dai nuovi sistemi olandesi di movimentazione dei bancali, sui quali vengono disposte le piante e fiori.

Raoul Iacometti tired, motionless in that one position, in perfect symbiosis with the environment surrounding. It was then that the idea of combining flowers, plants and structures with the dance came naturally. At the end of that day, after taking a few notes on my agenda, I abandoned the idea waiting for the right moment to realize it. In 2011, while working on a reportage commissioned and dedicated to classical and modern dance courses at an amateur level, “Green Attitude” finally took shape and structure. In this project, dance blends naturally with plants and flowers, inside and outside of locations that change every time: greenhouses and nurseries, artificial lungs scattered everywhere, oasis of perennial green that knows no seasons. The project is a non-profit and still work in progress. The artists who animate the photographs are Étoile, Prime / i Ballerine / i, Soloists and dancers who work in the most important national and international dance companies, such as Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opéra National de Bordeaux and others. They alternate on the various sets, giving shape and harmony to the photographic diptychs. The locations that host us in their spaces are of various types: from the classic greenhouses of different floral species to those with a specific thematic address, up to the most modern ones characterized by photovoltaic technology or by the new Dutch pallet handling systems, on which the plants and flowers.

Raoul Iacometti, nato a Milano nel 1961, svolge l’attività di fotografo free-lance alternando la ricerca personale al lavoro commerciale in diversi settori: reportage di documento e socio-umanitario, fotografia industriale e d’interni, eventi, danza e ritratto. Le sue fotografie sono pubblicate su riviste, quotidiani e libri, sono utilizzate per cover/booklet di CD di musicisti italiani e stranieri. Ha ricevuto molti riconoscimenti nei più importanti contest nazionali ed internazionali. Sue fotografie fanno parte dell’Archivio Storico Fotografico della Fondazione 3M, dell’Archivio Fotografico Italiano ed importanti collezioni private. Fra i suoi lavori più significativi sono da ricordare “Di terra e di fuoco” (2006) reportage sulle ex miniere presso le colline metallifere nel territorio di Massa Marittima (GR), “Ai confini del mare” (1986/2019), “Tre giorni a Madrid” (2007), “I suoni delle Dolomiti” (2007), “Di serra” (2008), “Quale madre” (2008) dedicato al tema della maternità e “Botteghe” (2008) sulla filiera agroalimentare e sull’importanza del cibo nella nostra vita quotidiana; “Just Dancers” (2011) reportage fotografico sul mondo della danza amatoriale classica, contemporanea e jazz. Nel 2008 crea il progetto no profit “Green Attitude”, la danza legata al mondo di fiori e piante, utilizzando palcoscenici inediti come serre e vivai, luoghi dove ambienta tutti gli scatti, che pubblica ufficialmente nella primavera del 2013. Da quella data il lavoro è ancora work in progress in attesa di diventare un volume fotografico. Le danzatrici e i danzatori provengono da importanti corpi di ballo quali il Teatro alla Scala di Milano, l’Opera di Bordeaux, l’Opera di Roma, l’Opera Nationale de Paris ed altri ancora. e della danza. Dal 2016 lo spettacolo è condotto con Carlo Negri (scrittore e autore di testi televisivi e teatrali tra gli altri Zelig e gli spettacoli di Giuseppe Giacobazzi). Dal 2015 ad oggi è impegnato in un progetto di reportage socio-umanitario legato alle malattie degenerative come la distrofia muscolare e simili, collaborando con importanti associazioni di volontariato, tra le quali UILDM, UNITALSI e il Centro clinico Nemo, all’interno dell’Ospedale Niguarda di Milano. Da tale progetto è nata la mostra fotografica “Alcuni di Noi”, immagini in bianconero che raccontano le cure in reparto, le attività e il volontariato. Sempre nel 2015 è uno dei tre autori scelti da Roberto Mutti per “Obiettivo Lampedusa”, un reportage dedicato all’isola e ai suoi abitanti. Le fotografie fanno parte di una mostra itinerante e di un volume fotografico edito da Silvana Editore. Dalla fine del 2016 al maggio 2018 segue un progetto sul Design Made in Italy in collaborazione dell’Azienda Caimi Brevetti. Il risultato è un libro fotografico con oltre 200 immagini in bianconero (reportage delle lavorazioni, ritratti ai più importanti designer italiani e stranieri e altro ancora). Il il libro è a cura di Aldo Colonnetti, storico e teorico dell’arte, del design e dell’architettura, e pubblicato da Skira Editore. Tiene corsi base e avanzati di fotografia e workshop fotografici in tutto il territorio nazionale e all’estero su diverse tematiche tra le quali ritratto, danza, street-photography e, dal 2010 di iPhoneography. Nel maggio 2015 riceve l’onorificenza di “Autore dell’Anno 2015” dalla Federazione Italiana delle Associazioni Fotografiche, con la pubblicazione di “Storie”, un libro che contiene alcune delle sue fotografie più conosciute. music and dance. From the end of 2016 to May 2018 he follows a project on Made in Italy Design in collaboration with the Caimi Brevetti Company. The result is a photographic book with over 200 images in black and white (reportage of the work, portraits of the most important Italian and foreign designers and more). The book is edited by Aldo Colonnetti, historian and theorist of art, design and architecture, and published by Skira Editore.
