金點設計獎創立於台北，每年由台灣創意設計中心策劃頒 獎典禮及相關活動。自 2015 年起，金點設計
獎品牌針對不同目標族群分設「金點設計獎」、「金點概念設計獎」及「金點新秀設計獎」等三大獎賽， 其旨在褒揚華人傑出的創新設計產品與作品。
此 為華人設計界一年一度的盛事，透 過 獎 項，不僅肯定 創新產 ( 作 ) 品，同時也褒揚得獎作品的設計師
與設計公司。藉此，來自全球的設計師，不斷重新審視自己的創造能力。在擁有獨特遺址與深厚文化薰
陶下，華人設計師正以獨特見解和超群技術，持續在設計上追求創新與突破。金點設計獎不單單只是提 升華人的設計形象，更期望帶動全球設計界對華人設計的關注。
The Golden Pin Design Award and its associated awards and events has its home in Taipei and is organized by the Taiwan Design Center. In 2015, the Golden Pin Design Award became a group of design awards: the premier award, the international Golden Pin Design Award, which is open to products and projects available in the market and created for and within huaren (Chinese-speaking) communities; the Golden Pin Concept Design Award; and local graduate student design award, the Young Pin Design Award. All awards strive to not only recognize innovative design products, projects, and concepts, but also the individuals, companies, and organizations behind these award-winning designs. In doing so, these awards hope to not only raise the profile of design within huaren communities, but also advance huaren design within the global design community.

金點設計獎
GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD
2015 年金點設計獎報名件數共 2,360 件，分別來自中國大陸、香港、澳門、馬來西亞、新加坡、泰國、 德國、紐西蘭及台灣等地，類 別涵蓋產品設計、包 裝設計、視覺傳達設計與空間設計四大 類。經歷三階 段的評選過程，最終選出年度最佳設計獎得獎作品共 29 件，分別來自於中國大陸、香港和台灣。
同年度也特別辦理兩項金點設計獎年度特別獎 - 採購人大獎與社會設計獎。設立年度特別獎採購人大
獎目的係為鼓勵設計師能多考量消費者及市場需求做設計；社會設計獎則是獎勵在有限資源下，利用設 計來解決社會問題或在地難題，並以公眾利益為前提，打造更宜居宜人的城市的優秀設計。
In 2015, t he Golden P in Desig n Award at t rac ted a record -set t ing 2,36 0 ent r ies f rom 10 countr ies around the world. A side from a multitude of entr ies from Taiwanese companies, entries also flooded in from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Germany, Denmark, and New Zealand, resulting in the most entries ever received in the over three decades since the award was founded. The award accepts works from the product design, visual communication, packaging, and spatial design disciplines. The 29 winners of 2015 Best of Golden Pin Design Award came from China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. In the same year, the Golden Pin Award Group also expanded to include two Special Awards of the Golden Pin Design Award–a Buyers Award and a Social Design Award. The Special Award of the Golden Pin Design Award – Buyers Award aimed to honor products that have a strong chance of success in the Taiwan market. Organized in collaboration with the World Design Capital Taipei 2016, the Special Award of the Golden Pin Design Award – Social Design recognized outstanding social design for Taipei City, and is open to international designers and companies whose products and projects relate to Taipei City in some way. The award sought to promote the use of design to solve social problems or challenges and create a more livable city.

The secret place in Northwest of Alishan without tourists, vehicles and pollution, Rui-Fong has excellent environment for breeding tea trees. Cutting angle of a package illustrates the vision like a diamond polished and surrounded mountains. Golden brass expresses gratitude to earth; The triangular label demonstrates the image of diamond's refraction which becomes the highlight of the package.

The smog threat, an air pollution that can no longer be ignored. The designer has used an effective graphic presentation technique: images are silhouetted in a manner similar to x-rays that examine damage to bones or organs. The number of animals dying from smog-related ailments is increasing. Even survival masks cannot stop the smog threat. Smog rapidly damages human cultural assets.

DynamiCity Gentype is a generative typography motion wall visualized the urban dynamics data in between Hong Kong and Shenzhen from 2012 to 2014. The letters are created by different mathematics algorithms to represent a specific social issue. This drew the attention of the citizens to aware the rapid changing of their own living cities and take a deeper insights to look into these two cities under the same country.

Texture: Inspiration for varying textures comes from different elements in nature―rock, water, rust, dust, and wood grain. Stories are arranged and rearranged to become new forms of existence. We use different textures for different sizes, so that users can learn about different size standards and different textures at the same time.

The concept of "gift" is at the heart of this design, as it employs the symbol of ribbon in the character design and background pattern visualization. Contrary to the conventional associations of gift as expressing happiness, pleasant surprise, and joy, the idea of gift in this design conveys a sense of uncertainty and suspension. Do we expect help or harm from the gift falling from the sky?

Beyond that, a systematic approach and mechanism that can support designers and stakeholders to participate in value co-creation sustainably is very crucial in a long-term perspective. In keeping with the spirit of the award, the Golden Pin Concept Design Award is guided by the approach captured in the Chinese phrase 中觀 (zhong guan ). A quick translation of the word
中 (zhong ) returns the word 'center' or 'middle,' while a quick translation of the word 觀 (guan )
returns 'to observe' or 'to watch.' Exploring the deeper meaning of the two words in combination reveals the concept 'mastery gained from the perspective afforded those at the center of things.' By br ing ing indiv idual s from around the world together in the explorat ion of the role of philosophies and ideologies from huaren (Chinese-speaking) communities in the design of both products and projects, the Golden Pin Concept Design Award hopes to contribute to greater perspective, and ultimately, to raise the capacity of designers to incorporate these concepts into tomorrow's most influential products and projects. In 2015, 2,384 entries were submitted to the Golden Pin Concept Design Award from 15 countries and areas around the world, including China, Taiwan, Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong, as well as nations farther afield, such as India, Russia, the UK, the USA , Italy, Vietnam, and South Korea, and more.

The works of "Symbol" are a series of typefaces design of 16 different types of Chinese characters (4,200 characters in total). The idea comes from researching of 16 ancient character symbols. Today, the actual situation of Chinese typefaces are relatively limited. "Symbol" intended to contribute to Chinese font design and modern Chinese culture by research and develop of the ancient cultures,explore possibilities of transformation of different typefaces, and enrich the diversity of chinese characters.
