AWARD INTRODUCTION
金點設計獎
GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD 「金點設計獎」針對已商品化與上市銷售之產品，申請者須為業者或設計團隊。每年透過專業嚴謹與公正的
評審制度，遴選出上百件產作品，授與「金點設計標章」，代表對於產品品質的肯定，並從中評選出「金點設 計獎年度最佳設計獎」，授與象徵至高榮譽的證書及獎座，具有高度公信力。
The Golden Pin Design Award recognizes commercialized products and projects, entered by design teams and industry professionals. Each year, through a rigorous and impartial judging process led by industry experts, more than one-hundred products and projects are selected to receive the coveted Design Mark certificate in recognition of outstanding design. A small selection of the Design Mark recipients are then chosen to receive the Best Design trophy. The Golden Pin Design Award certificate and trophy is an influential signifier of quality in design.

GOLDEN PIN CONCEPT DESIGN AWARD 「金點概念設計獎」則針對尚未在市場上銷售或生產的作品。每年評選出「金點概念設計獎」得獎作品並授 與標章使用權，及評選出「金點概念設計獎年度最佳設計獎」，授與證書、獎座及獎金，期望聚集全球創新概 念，成為廣納未來創新設計之平台。
The Golden Pin Concept Design Award invites products and projects that have not yet entered production, or are not yet on the market. Winners of the annual award are granted the right to use the coveted Design Mark. The Best Design winners receive a certificate, award trophy, and a cash prize. The Golden Pin Concept 金點設計獎（Golden Pin Design Award）源自 1981 年、創立於台灣，是全球華人市場具權威性與影響力之
專業設計獎項，現由台灣創意設計中心 （Taiwan Design Center, TDC）辦理獎項與策劃頒獎典禮及相關活動。
Design Award gathers together innovative design concepts from all around the globe, and creates a platform for future innovation in design.
自 2015 年起，金點設計獎針對不同目標族群，分設「金點設計獎」 、 「金點概念設計獎」及「金點新秀設計獎」
等三大獎賽，旨在褒揚傑出的創新設計產品與作品。
Established in 1981, Taiwan's Golden Pin Design Award is the most influential design award in the global Huaren market. The planning and handling of the awards, the prize-giving ceremony, and all other related activities are executed by Taiwan Design Center (TDC). In 2015, the Golden Pin Design Award launched three separate awards
the Golden Pin Design Award, Golden Pin Concept Design Award, and Young Pin
Design Award. The purpose of each award is to commend outstanding innovation in design within different target demographics.

金點設計獎年度最佳設計獎 BEST OF GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD
2018 金 點 設計 獎 共收 到來自台灣、中國大陸、香 港、澳門、新加坡、馬來西亞、美國、德 國、泰 國、日本、 土 耳 其、比 利 時、加 拿大、匈牙 利、韓 國、義 大 利、墨 西 哥、波 蘭、英 國、荷 蘭、澳 大 利 亞等 21 地 之 產 品 報名，報名廠 商家 數 創下歷 史新高，顯示 金 點 設計 獎的 徵件版 圖已愈 來 愈 國 際 化。
今 年 共 有 2,932 件 報 名，其 中 6 97 件 榮 獲「金 點 設 計 標 章」，評 審 團 經 過 嚴 謹 的 評 選 和 討 論 後，共 有 8 0 件入 圍「金 點 設 計 獎 年 度 最 佳 設 計 獎 」，並 從 中 評 選 出 34 件「金 點 設 計 獎 年 度 最 佳 設 計 獎 」得主。 此 外今 年 特別 選 出 2 件「金 點 設計 獎 年度 特別 獎 - 綠 色 設計」及 1 件「金 點 設計 獎 年度 特別 獎 - 社 會 設
計」，也 將 授 與 象徵 至高榮 譽 的 證 書及 獎 座。
The Golden Pin Design Award 2018 received entries from twent y-one countries and regions all around the globe, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong , Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, the United States, Germany, Thailand, Japan, Turkey, Belgium, Canada, Hungar y, South Korea, Italy, Mexico, Poland, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Australia. A new record high was set for the number of companies that submit ted entries, signaling the Golden Pin Design Award's growing reputation among the international design community. There were a total of 2,932 entries this year. Of those entries, 697 were granted the right to use the Design Mark. Another 80 were selected as Finalists for Best Design, following a rigorous selection process and discussion among the jury. From this shortlist, 34 entries were chosen as Best Design winners. In addition, two of this year's entries were selected to receive the Special Annual Award for Green Design and Social Design. Certificates and trophies are conferred upon the winners in recognition of this honor.

This plume dip pen and inkwell is a handcrafted artwork made from glass and wood. Eight grooves in the nib of the dip pen ensure sufficient ink uptake without spillage. The inkwell uses the principle of atmospheric pressure convection to control the ink supply. The transparent glass bottle also allows the user to see the ink level and control the amount of ink taken up on the nib.

Landscape of City Magazine is an interactive, 3-D map made up of City Magazine cover art, combined to form an aesthetic, atmospheric, historical, and biographical collage. Landscape of City Magazine analyzed the cover art from 499 issues of City Magazine published over the years, and transformed the color distribution of each issue into a rolling mountain range, which was then converted with 3D printing into a three-dimensional landscape of the era.

On the CD itself, the waves are highlighted in white and turned into islands, which completes the visual imagery.

The structure is divided into four sections to accommodate a diverse range of spaces that reflect the complexity of inhabitation. These divisions also separate the living areas in order to allow light, wind, rain, trees, and nature to fill in the transitional spaces.

The ants nest design creates a home-like feeling of security.

A wooden, latticed bookcase wall is the soul of this design. It holds plenty of space for the library's extensive collection of books, while the extension of the bookcase all the way up to the ceiling creates a cozy reading environment. Mist Encounter is a micro-climate art event. Scaffolding and translucent fabrics are used to build the main structure, which is equipped w ith a mis t maker machine. T he mis t af fec t s guests'visual perception, while lending the invisible function of air conditioning a comprehensible form.

Helan Mountain forms a magnificent backdrop to this museum. The building is embedded into the mountain, taking advantage of the spectacle of light, which cascades across the mountains and plains. Its outer stone wall reflects an inheritance of local construction techniques, within which the building creates a dialog between humanity and nature.

1,667 sheets of paper from 22 magazines are reprinted and cut into 10,000 tickets. The different types of paper, reprinting, visual dismantling , and sequencing turn each ticket into a unique reading material that inspires and stimulates thought.

循環 機 制，將 香 檳 空瓶回收 製 成 雞 尾酒 杯，使 空瓶不 再只 是 慶祝 後的剩餘產物，更 是下次歡 慶的最佳引言。
This project to build a Champagne bottle recycling system was carried out in cooperation with the W Hotel and Spring Pool Glass. The bottles are recycled to make cocktail glasses. Empty bottles are no longer viewed as waste to be disposed of after a celebration, instead becoming a vehicle for the next celebration.

In 2017, the Taipei New Horizon Center adopted rice as its theme, and invited seven media bodies from Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan to exchange ideas and share memories of food from different places. They considered rice delicacies from seven angles―local snacks, literary references, folk tales, historical contexts, and more. He-Ji is a record of the viewpoints of these different media bodies from Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan, along with the interactions of those attending the event.

The Golden Pin Concept Design Award is open to products and projects that have not yet been massproduced or sold on the market. It welcomes students, designers, and companies from all over the world. The winning designers are leaders of emerging global design trends. The Golden Pin Concept Design Award 2018 received 4,640 entries from a total of twenty-three countries and regions all around the globe, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, India, South Korea, Macau, Indonesia, Thailand, Japan, Hungary, France, Germany, Poland, Austria, Serbia, Italy, Iran, the United Kingdom, the United States, Mexico, and Cameroon. Forty-five of those entries were selected as Golden Pin Concept Design Award winners, and granted the right to use the Design Mark. From those winners, three were selected to receive the Best Design trophy, and a cash prize of NT$400,000.

時便會儘 快 抵達事故現場，並由一 個整 體拆分成四個牽著網的部 件，為高空樓層受困者提供幫助。
Net Guard is a high-altitude rescue device that combines UAV technolog y with a safet y net. It can be deployed to rescue people from fires and other accidents. Once a distress call is received, Net Guard will arrive at the site of the accident as quickly as possible. The device then separates into four sections, carr y ing the four corners of the net , and rescuing people trapped on the upper floors of the building.

RobloX is a prefabricated construction unit made from ultrahig h p er for man ce con crete (UHP C) . Combinat ional log ic was per formed on the mater ial , result ing in a light weight substance with enhanced struc tural adaptabilit y that conventional prefab techniques cannot achieve. The single slab unit s with a reduced number of joins can be built by robots for more efficient assembly.
