金點設計獎源自1981年、創立於台灣，是全球華人市場具權 威性與影響力之專業設計獎項，現由台灣設計研究院（Taiwan Design Research Institute, TDRI）辦理獎項與策劃頒獎典 禮及相關活動。自2015年起，金點設計獎針對不同目標族群， 分設「金點設計獎」、「金點概念設計獎」及「金點新秀設計獎」 等三大獎賽，旨在褒揚傑出的創新設計產品與作品。
Established in 1981, Taiwan’s Golden Pin Design Award is the most influential design award in the global Huaren market. The planning and handling of the awards, the prize-giving ceremony, and all other related activities are executed by Taiwan Design Research Institute (TDRI). In 2015, the Golden Pin Design Award launched three separate awards—the GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD, GOLDEN PIN CONCEPT DESIGN AWARD, and YOUNG PIN DESIGN AWARD. The purpose of each award is to commend outstanding innovation in design within different target demographics.
The Golden Pin Design Award recognizes commercialized products and completed projects (not concept). The vendor applicant can be a business entity or design team. Each year, through a rigorous and impartial judging process led by industry experts, more than one-hundred products and projects are selected to receive the coveted Design Mark certificate in recognition of outstanding design. A small selection of the Design Mark recipients are then chosen to receive the Best Design trophy. The Golden Pin Design Award certificate and trophy is an influential signifier of qua lity in design.
Golden Pin Concept Design Award is open to products and projects that have not yet been mass-produced, sold on the market or in active development. It welcomes students, designers, and companies from all over the world, and is open for creative ideas and unorthodox solutions that break new ground. The Golden Pin Concept Design Award gathers together innovative design concepts from all around the globe, and creates a platform for future innovation in design. Winners of the annual award are granted the right to use the coveted Design Mark. The Best Design winners receive a certificate, award trophy, and a cash prize.

The 2022 Golden Pin Design Award received a total of 2,765 entries from 17 countries and regions around the globe, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Thailand, Germany, Canada, Poland, India, Indonesia, U.S.A., U.K., and Australia. Of these entries, 687 were granted the right to use the Golden Pin Design Mark, 118 of which were further selected as Finalists for Best Design. From this shortlist, 34 entries were ultimately named Best Design winners.
This year, the organizer also awarded the Golden Pin Design Award ’s Special Annual Awards for Circular Design and for Social Design to entries with major social or industrial significance that meet the award criteria. In addition, an Honorary Award was bestowed to commend individuals for their outstanding achievements and contributions to the Taiwanese design scene.

This brand identity system for construction contractors is designed with the initial “T” of Technical City, which also symbolizes the criss-crossing rebar that is built into every concrete structure. This modular system can be stacked into different configurations depending on the need, in the same way that building’s components can be put together in a multiplicity of ways to create different structur es.

experimental print journal explores different printing techniques. Each issue revolves around a printing technique and experiments with the possibilities that can be derived from it with the goal of quantifying printing techniques and experience into metrics that can serve as indicators for comparison and ultimately provide a printing guide for designers.
The Voluntary Local Review report is not just a book; even its production process put SDGs into practice. The report uses recycled materials supplied by companies in New Taipei City. The top cover of the packaging is made of thrice recycled PCB drilling board, and the tote bag is made of old advertising canvas. The materials speak for themselves and pique the curiosity of passersby, inspiring them to participate in sustainability action.
With its “many-sided, multi-faceted” design concept, this box set embodies James Wong’s rich creative career and its twists and turns over the course of Hong Kong’s development. The design and binding of this book are inspired by its theme. The book’s distinctive structure is derived from the silhouette of the Chinese character “Horse”, with the text at the top and image plates at the bottom. Words and treasured images are interspersed across the Xuan paper (rice paper) and patterned paper, while the full hand binding and deckled edges showcase the beauty of traditional book design.

This system includes AR image scanning, virtual space construction, video and 2D animation explanations, 3D model displays, interactive animations and other functions to provide visitors with an easy-to-use, game-like tour guide service that helps visitors understand the lives of the designers of the Bauhaus period, the stories behind their works, and the design philosophy they upheld.
Under the constraints of legal regulations and an unchanging budget, this Bulletin nevertheless makes good use of the red and black colors and page layout restrictions by adjusting the flow and improving the hierarchical structure of the content, thereby achieving clear, efficient communication and presenting the process in a clear, stepby-step manner as a perspective drawing. About 8.95 million copies of the Bulletin were printed and distributed throughout Taiwan in 2021.
The center has a pure and restrained minimalist design that takes inspiration from the poetry of nature. In this hands-on zone, the interaction between people and objects and the harmony between objects and space create details in space that convey an affinity with nature, an awe of nature, and a return to nature.

This 40-year-old private office building has been transformed from a closed, corporate workplace into an open, semi-public office space. The green lan dscape extends outward into the street, and the space is divided to echo the trend of hybrid office models with multiple different spaces create a work environment that inspir es creativity.
Situated in a renovated 50-year-old Chu-Kuang Express train, the Moving Kitchen is a railway restaurant that brings the delights of Taiwanese cuisine to the train. It is equipped with a full-size kitchen, bar, and private compartments, and features asymmetrical ceilings with redesigned lighting, air-conditioning, and speaker systems as well as large windows that provide an unobstructed view of the mountains and sea.
The purpose of the Wood Factory is to act as an experimental center for renewing and incubating wooden buildings across the city, to inject new life into abandoned spaces and meet Chiayi’s need for research into and construction of wooden buildings. The framework of the factory building was redesigned to overcome existing spatial constraints and new carpentry methods were developed to accommodate the modernday needs of the space.
The old sportsground on the rooftop of the Siu Hei Building in Hong Kong has been renovated into a multifunctional playground that includes a track, basketball courts, an unstructured play area for children, interactive walls, and art installations, all of which provide a rich variety of experiences for users of all ages.
The minimalist design of the main body of the building allows it to blend in with the surrounding environment. The beam-free construction, impluvium, floor levels retreating gradually from bottom to top, and slanted outer wall design all combine to provide natural lighting and ventilation. The building exterior looks like the petals of a newlyopening flower, transforming the columbarium into a welcoming s pace.
Located in a park dedicated to pond ecology, the Hengshan Calligraphy Art Center boasts a main building inspired by the five elements of Chinese seal carving and is divided into five mountain-shaped ‘inkstones.’ The layout creates a courtyard that is reminiscent of the pond landscape and forms an area for artworks that is connected to the environment.

The Dog / Human House is a response to the love of dog owners for their furry friends and their desire to live with them. It is equipped with indoor and outdoor facilities designed exclusively for pets, including a pet salon and pet hotel. Part of the house is made accessible to other dog lovers. The details have been thoughtfully designed to create a space where humans and pets can live side-by-side and to put a respect for all life into practice.

This store was built with the company’s product materials, tin and brass, to create a space that displays the natural beauty of the materials used. The soft furnishings in the store were created by “stacking” the traditional techniques that have been passed down for hundreds of years, providing a space where people can gather and engage with each other.
Initially a security station that had been abandoned for more than thirty years, the Yang Ming Mountain Lab has been repurposed as a mountain hut where the public can experience a mixture of leisure, recreation, and ecological education. The Lab is helping to launch innovative new national park services by incorporating a new visual design, popular science exhibitions and peripheral product development.

The Golden Pin Concept Design Award 2022 received 5,114 bold and innovative concepts from designers in 29 countries and regions all around the globe, including Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, Philippines, Vietnam, Iran, Israel, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Poland, Germany, Turkey, Canada, the United States, Mexico, Australia—and first-time participation from Belgium, Romania, Belarus, Bolivia and Nigeria. 43 of those entries were selected as Golden Pin Concept Design Award winners and were granted the right to use the Design Mark. From those winners, three were selected to receive the Best Design trophy and a cash prize of NT $400,000.

Tofu has existed nearly unchanged for thousands of years. Now, TOFU has redesigned the packaging and shape of tofu to subvert the public’s inherent impression of tofu. This work makes tofu more interesting and creative when it is eaten with other ingredients by reimagining the square frame of tofu.

Using comic-like panels and rhythms, this work describes the learning process of the protagonist’s struggles with isolation, dependence, and social engagement with the outside world. In the end, the protagonist stops sending flowers to others in the end, choosing instead to plant them in their own world and say goodbye to their past vulnerable self.
The Golden Pin Design Award’s HONORARY AWARD is bestowed to commend individuals for their outstanding achievements in and contributions to the Taiwanese design scene. Candidates for the award are recommended by the Golden Pin Design Award jury and representatives of other design organizations in Taiwan. After the Final Selection jury reaches a decision, the award is granted to the winner in the form of a certificate and trophy that signify the highest honor in creative design.

Mr. Tzu-Hsien Tung is the founder and Chairman of Pegatron Corporation; he is also the Chairman of Taipei Computer Association. Pegatron engages in a variety of businesses, such as ODM and design and manufacturing services, with plans to extend its reach to the fields of metal casing and contact lenses, etc. Tung worked for Acer Inc. immediately after graduating from the National Taipei University of Technology. In 1989, Tung along with Wayne Hsieh, M.T. Liao, and Ted Hsu jointly founded Asustek Computer Inc. During his time at Asus, Tung spearheaded the development of notebook computers. Since then, Asus notebook computers have not only ranked first in terms of market share in Taiwan, but also became the world’s top ten notebook computer brands. In 2007, Asustek and Pegatron announced their plan to split up, with Tung joining Pegatron as the Chairman and CEO.
