金點設計獎和金點概念設計獎的使命為推動華人設計，金點設計獎為華人一年一度的設計界盛事，凡在華人市場（包含國家、地區）銷售、生產或設計的商品，皆可報名。金點概念設計獎為針對尚未在市場上銷售或生產的作品，聚集全球創新概念設計，將成為廣納聚集未來創新設計平臺，我們堅信設計將是未來社會成長的重要關鍵，期望藉此鼓勵更多好設計，進而創造出最具影響力的創新作品。

AWARD INTRODUCTION

The Golden Pin Design Award was founded in Taiwan in 1981, and today, the annual ceremony and related events are organized by the Taiwan Design Center. In 2015, in an effort to cater to changing demographics

in the global design industry, the Golden Pin Design Award extended the range of competitions held under the Golden Pin banner to include the Golden Pin Concept Design Award and the Young Pin Design Award.

Collectively, these three awards honor innovation in products and design projects created for and within the world’s huaren (Chinese-speaking) communities.

The Golden Pin Design Award is a prestigious annual design event that is open to entries from companies,

organizations, and individuals who sell, produce, or design products and services within or for a Chinese community.

The Golden Pin Concept Design Award recognizes works not yet on sale or produced and accepts

innovative concept designs from all over the world. The Award is a platform for a broad range of innovative, forward-looking design. We are convinced that design is an important key to future social growth, and we look forward to encouraging more good design that leads to powerful, innovative works.

金點設計獎

GOLDEN PIN DESIGN AWARD

2017 金點設計獎共收到來自台灣、中國大陸、香港、澳門、日本、新加坡、馬來西亞、泰國、印尼、英國、德國、美國、荷蘭、瑞士等地之作品，報名廠商家數創下歷史新高。其中荷蘭、印尼首次參賽，顯示金

點設計獎的徵件版圖已愈來愈國際化。「金點設計獎」每年皆遴選出上百件作品，授與「金點設計標章」，代表對商品品質的肯定，並從中選出年度最佳設計。

今年共有 72 件優秀作品入圍「金點設計獎年度最佳設計獎」，入圍作品名單是由 10 位決審評審經過密

集評選、給分後，從 455 件榮獲標章的作品中評選而出，評審們再從這入圍作品中選出共 23 件「金點設計獎年度最佳設計獎」得主，將授與象徵至高榮譽的獎盃一座。

In 2017, the Golden Pin Design Award received from 14 countries and regions, from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Germany, Switzerland, the UK, USA and Netherlands. New countries

with design works represented in the competition include Netherlands and Indonesia while there was continued strong representation from countries and regions with large huaren (Chinese-speaking) populations, including Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

In 2017, the Golden Pin Design Award granted 455 "Design mark" awards to recognize high quality work. Of these 455 Design Mark winners, some 72 outstanding works were nominated by a panel of ten judges as award finalists. The judges selected a total of 23 recipients of the Golden Pin Best Design Award from the finalists. The very best then went on to win Golden Pin Design Award 2017 trophies.

This project by Etchu-Tomiyama's crafts' division utilized a variety of unusual techniques cultivated in Toyama to create these small dishes to decorate your dining table. Five artists from five companies in Toyama prefecture participated in the project. They used a variety

of techniques and materials, including metals, lacquer, ceramics, woodwork and Japanese paper, to develop the 23 dishes.

posters are typeset by superimposing 525 characters containing one of the two "xin" radicals ("xin" meaning "heart" in Chinese). Writing systems are like people in that they interact closely with the heart

These elaborately styled paintings of Jia Jiang and the Vanguards (A sian gold and silver, neon colors) incorporate Taiwanese folk religious culture into contemporary design language.

Tainan is the cradle of Han civilization in Taiwan and the traditional folk beliefs brought there by immigrants have been passed down from generation to generation. Seasonal temple festivals, such as gods’ bir thdays, pilgrimages, local god inspection parades, and ritual ceremonies are held regularly, and the traditional performing arts troupes -- yizhen -- that accompany the celebrations have flourished, making Tainan the home of temple performing troupes. professionals from the creative fields of text, illustration, music,

and digital imaging to hike together in the nor thern par t of the Central Mountain Range, and use innovative methods to manifest their perceptions. The result is an exhibition venue desing whose

immersive viewing experience makes the viewers become one of the sights and a part of the natural landscape, which passes through

space and time at 3,742 meters above sea level. It gives the viewer a

new sort of visual perception that goes beyond the venue and into the forests, clouds, and mists of the mountains.

This Cultural Center project took place at the Hongfu Gong Temple,

the soul and meeting place of the people of Xiafu. The most interesting

element of temple buildings is their roofs, whose decoration is a

symbolic representation of Taiwanese culture, its stories, and its bright colors. The role of The Xiafu Activity Center is to interpret this rich Taiwanese cultural language by making it a tangible experience for

the public, a goal which is accomplished by making the architecture function as an interface that serves to deﬁne, transform and enhance

the culture.

adaptation of inclusive design concepts 3. Localization—strictly

localized design. Cities in Taiwan and around the world face the same issue of inef ficient land use. Unplanned urban sprawl negatively

influences urban resilience and sustainabilit y. ParkUp could be a potential solution to this issue.

Film production is a long and arduous process. The designer used a meteor shower as the theme of this design to to pay tribute to all the filmmakers behind the movies that we enjoy.

In the lobby, long rec tangular- cuboid decorations ex tend from the ceiling, mimicking the motion of a meteor shower streaking through the sky.

2017 金點概念設計獎共收到 4,395 件作品，來自台灣、中國大陸、香港、澳門、新加坡、馬來西亞、泰國、印

度、英國、義大利、澳洲、美國、波蘭、日本、土耳其、立陶宛、挪威、捷克、德國、瑞士、伊朗、荷蘭、加拿大、墨西哥及智利等 25 國報名參賽，共評選出 31 件「金點概念設計獎」得獎作品並授與「金點概念設計獎」標

章使用權，及從中評選出 3 件「金點概念設計獎年度最佳設計獎」，授與象徵至高榮譽的獎盃及獎金新台幣 30 萬元。

The Golden Pin Concept Design Award is for designs that have not yet entered the market or the production process. It is an award for global design trend leaders and is open to students, designers, and companies from all over the world.

The 2017 edition of the Golden Pin Concept Design Award received 4,395 entries from Taiwan, China, Hong Kong,

Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, India, the United Kingdom, Italy, Australia, the United States, Poland, Japan, Turkey, Lithuania, Norway, the Czech Republic, Germany, Switzerland, Iran, the Netherlands, Canada, Mexico and Chile.

Thirty-one products were awarded the Golden Pin Concept Design Award and received usage rights to the Golden Pin Design Mark. Three of these entries were also selected as the winners of the Best of Golden Pin Concept Design Awards 2017, and awarded the Golden Pin trophy and a cash prize of NT$300,000.

Bamboodia is a low-cost prosthetic specifically designed for people with below-knee amputation caused by landmine explosions. The bendable and elastic features of bamboo allow it to fit the curve of human ankles, creating a comfortable and effortless user experience. The polycaprolactone socket allows users to sof ten it with heat and shape it on their own. Through mass production, the cost of

Bamboodia can be significantly lowered compared to traditional customized prosthetic.

方正的字身、稍高的重心、舒展的中宮，且因橫劃末端有如凝霜般翹看，又有楷體的優雅，十分適合使用於書籍內頁之中，集優美、高雅、

可愛、明快、規矩、精緻為一體；平假名的設計保留橫劃末端翹起的特色，是為了與漢字的風格做呼應。

Cream Mincho is unique in that it blends the merits of Mincho and

Kai. I has with squared, slender and elegant figure that looks a little heavier on the top wider in the center. The name of the font is derived

from the cream look at the end of the horizontal stroke. It can either be used for title or book content, as it is very legible like Mincho, and retains its elegance even at low point sizes, like Kai. The font integrates

features such as cuteness, clarity, staidness and delicacy in its strokes.

Its design of the Hiragana retains the pointing end of stroke so as to correspond to the style of the Chinese characters.
